Kim polson testified again today in his own defense, sticking by his story that he shooting from november 17 of last year. But as soon as he got off the witness stand, the prosecution found a way to refute what he said. Polson told jurors he requested a drug test a few days after the arrest. Because he says he wasnt feeling well after injecting methamphetamine six hours before the shooting. Pete they said it had to be done by the attorney. Kim after the defense rested its case, prosecutors called the dci special agent who spoke with polson shortly after the shooting back to the witness stand for rebuttal. Kim the audio recording of that conversation played in court tells a different story. Agent have you used drugs or anything . Pete no. Agent whens the last time you took drugs . Pete three years ago. Kim prosecutors also called polsons exgirlfriend back to the witness stand, and played the recording of a call polson made to her while at the polk county jail two days after his arrest. Stacey a newton man and his girlfriend are charged in a child endangerment and sex abuse case. 46yearold Berlou Barnard faces Second Degree sex abuse, providing false information to the sex offender registry, and drug charges. 38yearold michelle workman faces charges of child endangerment. Investigators say the incident happened around august 13 of this year. The Iowa Department of Human Resources was called in to assist in the case. Kevin a federal court found an iowa falls man guilty of threatening to cut the throats of some iowa judges. Prosecutors say 35yearold andre lafontaine, iii called the Justice Department in wasington and threatened to cut the throats of judges in eldora. The call was recorded by voicemail. Sentencing will be at a later date. Former state senator Kent Sorenson spent a second day on the stand in the trial of two former aides from the ron paul 2012 president ial campaign. Jesse benton and Dmitri Kesari are accused of making secret payments to sorenson, who switched from the Michelle Bachmann campaign to ron paul before the Iowa Caucuses four years ago. Kccis rose heaphy listened in on the Court Session today and joins us for the update. Rose sorenson said hes in court to right his wrongs for lying for so long. Now our cameras are not allowed , in the courtroom. Sorenson said kesari gave his wife a 25,000 check, before sorenson had decided to switch to the Paul Campaign. But soon after, kesari told him not to cash it. He said kesari instead told him to send invoices to a Company Called ict, which would then pay sorensons company, grassroots strategy, in return. Bank statements show sorenson received 73,000 through wire transfers. Later, kesaris own brother, paul, took the stand. He said dimitri asked him to pay a Graphic Designer as a Third Party Company because of internal politics. Paul kesari said recommended a friends video company, ict, to act as paymaster. Records showed ict invoiced the Paul Campaign for audiovisual services, and then transferred money to sorensons company. That meant sorensons name stayed off the campaign books. All this time, sorenson held on to the original uncashed check. Defense argued he did this to have leverage over kesari. The trial will continue monday.
