Their 63 million. Good evening. And we begin tonight with the new battle just six days before the New Hampshire primary. Tonight, donald trump blasting ted cruz, saying she stole iowa using, quote, dirty tricks. And then cruz, shooting back. Donald trump saying cruz misled voters by hinting to them that ben carson might be getting out of the race, even though that was not the case. Cruz charging back, surrounded by cameras today,y, saying that trtrp is, quote, losing it. Even questioning his temperament. Tonight, right here, how this all played out today, just three days before the big republican debate. Abcs tom llamas, leading us off from New Hampshire. Reporter tonight, donald trump accusing senator ted cruz of using dirty tricks to win the iowa caucuses. The accusation coming after team cruz spread word on caucus day that dr. Ben carson might be dropping out. He insulted ben carson by doing what he did to ben carson. That was a disgrace. Caucuses, the Cruz Campaign sending supporters this email, stating the press is reporting that carson is taking time off after iowa and making a big announcement next week. It goes on to say, please inform any carson caucusgoers of this news and urge them to caucus for ted cruz. What he did is unthinkable. He said the man has just left the race and he said it during the caucus. Reporter carson today saying the cruz move cost him votes, describing what happened when his wife candy showed up at a caucus location. My wife went to a caucus and the cruz representative had spoken and told people that i was, in fact, not going to be continuing. And she obviously disabused him of that notion. Reporter cruz has now apologied to carson, but stands by his campaigns actions. Will you fire or suspend anyone in your campaign for putting out misinformation . No, were not going to and i would note thathe news story that our team passed on was true and accurate. Cnn reported it and ben did go to florida instead of New Hampshire, or south carolina, and so confuse voters . Is it a dirty trick to pass on your news stories . Would you think it was a dirty story . Reporter then, just moments after cruz said that, cnn, live on the air, saying cruz was trying to, quote, throw them under the bus. Here are the facts. Dr. Carsons staff told us that he would return home to florida to quote unquote take a breath from the campaign before resuming his act fiveties on the campaign trail. Reporter cnn saying they never reported anything about a special announcement. Trump now calling for an investigation. Well, listen, it is no surprise that donald is throwing yet another temper tan trem, or if you let, another trumpertantrun. I dont know with anyone who would be comfortable with something behaving this way. Were liable to wake up one nuked denmark. And tom llamas with us live, live in New Hampshire. Cruzs now apologized to ben carson. Does dr. Carson accept the apology . Reporter the Carson Campaign tells me that dr. Carson does accept the apology. But earlier today, carson did imply that cruz staffers should be fired, only if cruz did not approve of their actions. David . Tom llamas leading us off again tonight. Tom, thank you. And with just six days now until had New Hampshire primary, Hillary Clinton arguing shes now in a battle on Bernie Sanders home turf. Shes behind by double digits there. Getting help there from gabby giffords. Sanders saying tonight, there is still a home fight, saying the clintons have been campaigning in New Hampshire for years. Abcs cecilia vega on the im going to be out here reporter Hillary Clinton today taunting Bernie Sanders on what she calls his home turf. Because if its about our records, hey,y, im going to win by a landslide on tuesday. Reporter trailing by double digits here, shes now swinging. I have to tell you, i just could not ever skip New Hampshire. I cannot even imagine not being here. Reporter the Granite State might be in sanders backyard, but this is clinton country. The place that moved her to tears back in 2008 personal for me. Reporter and embraced her husband, years earlier. Thank you very much. Reporter but now . A new battle. Let me rephrase it. When we win. Reporter the vermont senator asked if Hillary Clinton is really a progressive ah, some days, yes. Accept when she announces that shsh is a proud moderatete it hurts. It was kind of a low blow, because weve been fighting the progssive fight and getting results for people for years. And cecilia vega live with us, as well. In the beginning, Bernie Sanders wanted more debates. Now its Hillary Clinton and both now have agreed to several more . Reporter thats right, david. The dnc announcing today there will be six more debates, one right here tomorrow night in New Hampshire, and now, one, also in flint, michigan, where as you know, david, they have been dealing with that water crisis. All right, cecilia vega, thank you. And tonight, just days before New Hampshire, word that two candidates might soon be out of the race. Rand paul says he is out. He will now focus on his reelection to the senate. And then rick santorum. He won iowa four years ago. Tonight, hes expected to drop out of the race a bill later. Lets get right to abcs jonathan karl. We do have one more question on politics before we move on. This fight between trump and cruz over those messages suggesting ben carson was iowa caucuses. Is this going away, jon . Reporter absolutely not, david. And, you know, trump is now demanding that the iowaa results be nullified. Thats not going to happen. But if there is one thing that we have learned about donald trump, its when he strikes a nerve, when he gets a rise out of one of his opponents, he continues to hammer and hammer and hammer away at it. He certainly has gotten a rise out of ted cruz on this. I dont think he lets go of this until either he or cruz is out of the race and, let me tell you, the person that likes this the best is marco rubio. The one who now sees the two people that came in ahead of him in iowa locked in a death match. All right, the debate stage looks good behind you, jon. Thank youo much. Of course, this all comes just three days before the republican debate, right here on abc. It is super bowl weekend, and the night before the super bowl. We hope youll join Martha Raddatz and me as we moderate the debate, saturday night, 8 00 p. M. Eastern, right here on abc. Go, go, go reporter the Weather Service is now saying that this one in western alabama was an ef2. 23 homes were destroyed. I was grateful to god he brought us through it. Reporter the storm was supposed to be weaker today, but try telling that to drivers in the rain, who had to be rescued from rising waters outside the will to live kept her hanging on. Reporter there was even a confirmed tornado near columbia, south carolina. In the midwest, theyre still digging out, finally reopening interstate 80 in nebraska. More than 200 miles were closed. This is whats left of the football coachs office here at the high school. The tornado ripped this roof clear off. And it pulled out this air conditioner from this spot here. The national Weather Service now says that the tornado that hit here was an ef1 that traveled nearly three miles. David . Steve, thank you so much. I want to get right to rob tonight, word is coming in of yet another possible tornado touchdown . Reporter yeah, we had one touchdown in northeast georgia, savannah. That has since diminished. But the real threat Going Forward is going toe heavy rain. You see it streaming in. Flood watches across the Florida Panhandle and in georgia, canada. The snow pack not helping the situation, especially in pennsylvania. Another two to three, four inches of rain in the east coast. Kind of quiet in the next couple of days and then cold shot look at the numbers on tuesday morning. Reporter again, the magic number is 28 ys. The red cross is recommending that anyone who has been to a country where zika virus is transmitting, defer donating blood for 28 days.
