Tonight, Campaign Manager revving up the crowd in manchester, New Hampshire, we are going to take you there live when the president gets on the stage and begins to speak. First tonight, senator Elizabeth Warren pulling ahead in the latest fox news poll, she is still behind joe biden but she is well ahead of the rest of the field at this stage and her closest contender who shes bent neck and neck with Bernie Sanders has lost several points. The rest of the field of stuck on the launchpad, warren also getting attention in a lot of places tonight for marking five years since the Michael Brown shooting in ferguson, missouri, by calling browns death, a murder. Five years ago, Michael Brown was murdered by a white Police Officer in ferguson, missouri. He was unarmed, yet he was shot six times. I stand with activists and organizers who continue to fight for justice for michael. We must confront a systemic racism and Police Violence had on. That tweet has now been given four pinocchios by the Washington Post and politifact has now been criticized for bending over backward to not all that claim falls. Just to take you back to that moment five years ago and what followed, a grand jury investigated in missouri, then there was a federal investigation. Both investigations acquitted the officer after they dug into all the evidence, they found that Michael Brown had gone over to him and assaulted him, they reached into his car and they believed he was trying to get the officers weapon and the dna on the officer and the gun and all of it proved it. You all remember the hands up, Dont Shoot Movement which was a very tense moment in this country when all this is going on. That was the launch and the spark of the black lives matter movement. Hands up dont shoot it didnt according to the investigation that looked into what happened that day. Earlier i spoke with republican senator Susan Collins of maine about this and also about her own push for new guncontrol measures. Do you think its dangerous to talk about what happened in ferguson, this was somewhat separate from the philadelphia issue when youre looking at all of this gun violence is happening around the country and these officers put their lives in danger, to go back and rewrite what happened with Michael Brown, Kamala Harris has done the same thing. They got called out by the Washington Post for it but these are the sorts of things that are setting campaigns, the truth matters. The truth does matter, and i dont understand why anyone would want to exacerbate tensions, it just doesnt make sense to me. Martha the Police Officers who were in the street in philadelphia while their fellow officers were in the middle of this firefight were pelted by people on the streets in pennsylvania, heres a quick look at that. [shouting] [shouting] things are being thrown at them, with all the water in new york on Police Officers, theres so much tension. Then youve got these criminals hold up in these buildings shooting at Police Officers, what do you say to the leadership about how to handle this . It seems to me that what we just saw is inexcusable. They were legally trying to serve a warrant and the one thing i have read said it was a minority of that crowd, it was a small number of people who were pelting those officers but regardless, its totally unacceptable and horrific. Martha lets talk a little bit about what youre trying to put forward in terms of gun reforms and gun measures. You have been a lone voice for this in the republican party, you say now there is a moment to pass some legislation, tell me how it plays out and who is in favor it. First of all im working with senator pat toomey and joe manchin and with the white house on making sure that we closed some loopholes in the Background Check System to ensure people with Criminal Records who are mentally ill cannot purchase firearms. Thats something we ought to be able to unite around. Im not talking about restrictions on family members, i wouldnt support for example the house passed bill. It is overreached, it goes too far. But if we can come together working with President Trump, working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle and to say if you advertise the sale of a firearm over the internet, there should be a Background Check, that makes sense to me. Martha do you think the president will stick with this . What weve seen too many times, people say this is the moment because of dayton and el paso but i have said if it wasnt the moment after sandy hook, why should anyone believe once a few weeks passed, it Doesnt Go Awa away . The president has been engaged and he has talked to Senator Mcconnell who has indicated a willingness to bring that bill to the floor. Martha do you think Mitch Mcconnell will take it up . I do, i think we will see some sort of red flag bill with very strong due process. Martha and you get the house on board with that . They said they arent interested with anything that doesnt include universal Background Checks. Im for comprehensive common sense Background Checks. I grew up in the north of maine were responsible Gun Ownership was part of the heritage of every family. But people dont want criminals and people with serious Mental Illness to be able to purchase firearms, thats just common sense. I think the difference this time as we have had three incidents so close together, then look at what happened in philadelphia as well. We have the president saying he is on board. My hope is the democrats truly want a solution and some progress and they arent going to play political games with this issue. We can make a difference. Martha the House Judiciary Committee wants to revisit the Brett Kavanaugh issue, going back to the bush records and the white house and combing through them to see if theres anything to negate his ability to be a supreme court justice, what do you say to that . That is absurd. He has been confirmed to the highest court in the land. Ive been watching his decisions, hes in the mainstream. And for the House Judiciary Committee which plays no role in the Confirmation Process at all to say that it has the rights to these confidential records is outrageous. It wouldve never been done if it were the records of President Obamas secretary, that just would not happen. Martha thank you for coming in, good to have you in new york. Joining me now, a Fox News Contributor and ed rendell the former pennsylvania governor and former dnc chairman, great to have you with us tonight. Let me start with what happened yesterday in your home state. The video we showed moments ago of people harassing and pelting the Police Officers, why is there so much disrespect in our cities for the Police Officers . Let me start off by saying Senator Collins was right by saying that was a small minority. Martha she said no matter how many people do it and we saw the Water Dowsing in new york its atrocious. Shes right. Understand the vast majority, 95 of the africanamerican neighbors supported the police, were thankful to the police, credit the police for the way they handle that, for their courage look, weve got to find a bridge so that the community will begin to trust police again. That bridge comes from transparency, it comes from free and open investigations, and youre right. Its important all sides tell truth for this. Number two, i agree with Senator Collins, this is a point of demarcation. Weve got to do more than just Background Checks and red flags. We got to ban Assault Weapons and ban highcapacity magazines. Think about dayton, and 32 seconds, the shooter in dayton hit 27 people, in 32 seconds with an ar15. In philadelphia, one man with an automatic weapon and unlimited ammunition held off two s. W. A. T. Teams for hours and hours and hours. Civilians have no right martha he had a rap sheet longer than your arm and in many of those cases, there is no serial numbers on the weapons, they are ordering different parts of the internet and putting it together. These are the barriers that exist as Senator Collins was talking about. If you want to kill people and youre a criminal, youre not going to follow the gun laws we have on the books or any new ones we put forward. If you want to kill people, you can take a car and ram into a group of people which weve seen happen before, you can use a pressure cooker, you can use a knife, theres lots of things that can happen. I enjoyed your interview, if she was in charge of this, and only Susan Collins, i would trust this because she comes from a gun state, she understands the culture, Gun Ownership is something the vast majority of people are very responsible gun owners, what can we agree on . Theres a couple things that are making people on the right nervous about going into this. If its Just Mental Health and people with Criminal Records like the guy who we got in philly who shouldnt of had a gun and probably shouldnt of been on the street, im okay with that. Most people in red america are too. People on the left are talking about socialism at the same time they are talking about gun control and a lot of redblooded, Red State Americans know what happens in socialist countries. Martha what do you say to that . Shes not reading the polls, 70 of the American People want Assault Weapons band. 72 of American People want high capacity magazines band. 95 of American People want universal Background Checks. If there is almost unanimity in america. If the Republican Senate stops Assault Weapons from being banned in high capacity magazines from being banned, they will lose control of the senate in 2020, i absolutely promise you. Martha what Susan Collins was saying was can you start somewhere . Can you keep building on that was . The red flag law, the comprehensive Background Check program, as much as what you are saying makes sense to at least 70 of the people as you said, it doesnt look like it can pass in congress. Do you start by picking off some of these pieces and making it tougher . Or do you say because youre not going to side with us, youre not going to side with us, we are going to do nothing. Nothing is not tenable. I agree with you, we should pass whatever we can pass. But let me talk to any senator and say how can your countenance a person in 32 seconds injuring and killing 26 people . I would say this to the other side. You would have a lot more credibility if the conversation after any of these instances wasnt just about guns. If the left would put as much importance on mental health, on other factors that are planning into the gun violence we are seeing, whether its video game video games, whatever it is. Martha thats with a red flag law hopes to address and you have a lot of libertarians who dont want that. Thank you very much to you both. Israel is sending a clear message to two outspoken congresswoman barring freshmen Democrats Ilhan omar and rashida to leave from entering the country. The decision from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu coming after a tweet from President Trump saying in part it would show great weakness, they hit israel and all jewish people. Tlaib calls the move a side of weakness and a muslim ban is what israel isnt lamenting. Here is what President Trump had to say. They said horrible things about jewish people, horrible things about israel and israelis, i think would be a terrible thing for israel to let these two people who speak so badly about israel come in. They have become amazingly the face of the democrats. Martha Fox News Contributor, and a former state Department Official in the Obama Administration, just to show everybody at home, manchester, New Hampshire, they are wrapping up the crowd as the president gets ready to speak to them, we are going to take you there life as soon as that gets underway. You said today about this move, it was a mistake on the part of the president. Is nothing outrageous about it, on one hand its okay for them to boycott israel but its not okay for israel to boycott them . Its ridiculous. Their outrage is absurd. Its a mistake because it gives them a platform on which to attack israel. I think they wanted this to happen. If you look at the timing of it, they introduce this Boycott Resolution and announce they are going on a trip to israel knowing that israel has a law that says people who support the boycott of israel can be banned. Its suspicious that the timing of this and how this happened i think they wanted this to happen and israel and trump have played into their hands. Theres nothing wrong with israel deciding the people who support the destruction of the state of israel economically shouldnt be there and the fact they are members of congress, israel is barring members of congress isnt outrageous. Whats outrageous as there are members of congress who are virulent antisemites who are supporting the boycott, thats what we should be outraged abou about. Israel broke with tradition by banning legislators from its closest ally. Its a sovereign nation, it has every right to decide who can come in and who cannot but i have been to israel many times, i find the people fair and open minded, welcoming up other views. This is not in keeping with the tradition of israel. I think these members of congress would have learned a lot by going to israel. They wouldve had a better understanding of israel, some of their opinions are not correct but the only way to correct them is to bring them to israel. Martha that was one of the reasons the Israeli Government government reading Benjamin Netanyahus statement, they didnt ask to meet with any members of the government or estimate with the opposition. It doesnt look like it was going to be a very educational eyeopening experience. Ive also been to the palestinian territories, the west bank, and to gaza so ive learned a lot from that too. They wouldve seen west bank, thats different from what they think it is like there now. That wouldve been informative as well. They are not open to learning, these people are antisemites. They hate the state of israel, they hate, and they are going to israel in order to use it as a platform to attack the state of israel. This is a problem, the democrats need to get a grip on. The left has been infected with antisemitism. This antisemitism on the right and the left foot on the right, you see it on The Streets Of Charlottesville where there are skinheads running around chanting will not replace us. On the left, its in the halls of congress, on the floor of the house of representatives. You have two members here who are spouting antisemitic diatribes against, Why Dont The Democratic president ial candidates who today are criticizing israel, i wish they had the same vigor in criticizing omar and tlaib further grants. Your demagogue in this issue now. How dare you say im demagoguing. These are two members of congress, junior members of congress who are not influential within congress, they are not representative of the Democratic Party which is not antisemitic, which is very supportive of jews, and you are now trying to use it to divide the country. It is not in keeping with what happened because both democratic and Republican Leaders in congress are united on the fact that these two members of congress should have been allowed to go to israel. Martha when they had the opportunity to say they were engaging in hate speech i dont like namecalling. I want everyone to have a fair and respectful dialogue, i think mark is passionate about this issue but he was really calling out that these specific members and pointing out that there is a larger there seems to be a larger, increase in antisemitic hate crimes, we seen that in the United States. When you look at what happened, they tried to call them out on it, it got whitewashed. They said we are going to condemn all kinds of hate. When they had the opportunity to say we dont believe what they believe, they wimped out. Here is the problem, you are absolutely right that they did wimped out, the other thing is omar is a member of the House Foreign Affairs committee that sets policy towards israel. What place does she have sitting on that committee . One congressman steve king made comments that were supporting white nationalism, you know what the republicans did . They kicked him off his committee, they sent him in the corner. Why are they rallying around this antisemites . Martha last word. Two members of congress are very junior, they said them things that are stupid and need to be confronted and members of congress in both parties have confronted it and members of congress in both parties are unified in the decision, the opinion that israel shouldve let these members in and it wouldve educated and help them. Trump was wrong to stoke this decision out of israel but things will move on and hopefully we can move on. They are more enthusiastic condemning israel. Martha coming up right here, right now, we are waiting for this to get underway, the stock market recovered slightly today, one day after the worst day of the year on wall street. Fears of recession seem to be running high and some in the media seem to be almost giddy that an economic downturn would hinder President Trumps chances in 2020. The Global Economy taking a step towards recession, what does that mean for the presiden president . The economy really doesnt slow here, if there is a real sign the recession is coming, that undermines what is his belief, the best argument for his reelection. If i were looking at these numbers, hes a slight underdog for reelection but if the economy goes south, is a major underdog. Martha here now, Senior Fellow at the hoover institute, i was listening to a lot of different News Networks this morning as i often do, getting a read on what everyone is saying about Whats Going On. I couldnt help but feel there was a bit of enthusiasm for the possibility that may be the might tank. I think thats a generally unpatriotic and inhumane to hope that people will suffer a bad economy so you can get rid of a president you dont like. I agree with you, we have 6 million new jobs, thats not an abstract number, that means 6 million lives and people directly affected were radically changed. When you have 3. 7 peacetime unemployment, we havent had that in 70 years. He had 16 employment in 2015 and 2016. You can see peoples lives are radically changed. I dont mind people saying i hope trump fails on this issue are that issue, this is about the country. Very wealthy people who were pretty comfortable saying they want to radical downturn in the economic lives of millions of americans is pretty callous and hypocritical. It fits this narrative, we had this periodic hysterics. The 25th amendment, emoluments clause, robert mueller, obstructionpollution, then it was white supremacist, White Nationalist racism, each new cycle of the lot 23 weeks, now its recession. People dont step back and say this is the trump position, this is the democratic position on all these issues, lets have an election about it. Finally, what is really strange, they didnt want to talk about the economy. You couldnt get anybody on the democratic stage to say much because apparently it was doing pretty well in the way that Larry Summers was saying it was a fantasy to ever achieve annualized growth, barack obama saying you would need a magic wand to bring these jobs back. Suddenly they get one little barometer of a yield curve and they want to talk about the economy until the next cycle drama and the next cycle. Martha its interesting to look at what is causing this discussion. There is a contraction in growth in china and also in germany. When you look around the world, do you see that there are signs that this contraction is going to negatively impact the United States . What if they dont get to deal with china . Is the president playing this out with china in a way thats going to work or not work, what do you think . Things are different, if this was ten or 20 years ago when you look at slow downs abroad, there are things that have radically changed. We are the largest producer of gas and oil in the world, we are going to be the largest exporte exporter. We are not exposed to any cutoff in energy. In the world is rallying around us because they know what china has been doing in china is an economic difficulty. If this Trade Standoff continue continues, they are starting to move jobs out of Southeast Asia into north america and mexico. Theres upside in the long term, im not saying it might not be a shortterm hit but europe and china have structural problems that we dont have. They are over regulated economies, they are not freemarket economies. We can adapt much more quickly. When i work at unemployment, when i look at inflation and interest rates, everything is positive except im worried about the deficit but i was worried about that under the bush and Obama Administration. Martha the president is Gonna Walk Out of a couple minutes so we are going to continue to keep an eye on that. Weve heard quite a bit about this 2. 0 version of the trump rally is 2020 gets underway, we are getting a little bit of a glimpse of what the Production Value Looks like on that, i want to get your thoughts on hong kong. Hong kong has been this place were people who live in china can look to hong kong and see what capitalism looks like. Its a thriving financial metropolis. From reports, a lot of people in china look at that and say that was pretty good. President xi looks at that and now he is concerned perhaps that he doesnt want everybody to get carried away and think we can all be like hong kong and china. He is nervous about Whats Going On there and is cracking down on that, where do you see that going . I dont think its going to cause a collapse of the Chinese Communist party but its another indication abroad that people in asia and australia, in taiwan, in japan, and south korea, in europe, in north america, they are starting to coalesce left and right that china has these reeducation camps, its buys on its citizens, it persecutes muslims and a serial trade cheater. All across the spectrum, the world is saying weve torn off the scab in this wound is ugly. That hurts china, as far as we are going, trump has to be very careful because if he virtue signals, i want to stand with the people in hong kong, which we all want to do, what are you going to do when you say that . Does that mean you do something concrete . Is right in the middle of these trade negotiations. Hes got to be careful. We deplore what china is doing but on the other hand so many president s virtue signal, we stand with some country and then they do dont do anything. Martha and get criticized for not speaking out in favor of the people in hong kong, hes in the middle of this trade discussion. It seems to be what he may be doing is trying to give president xi an opportunity. He says i think youre a good guy, a good leader. Hes giving him some space to do the right thing. Rather than say you are evil and these people are right. We had this in 2009, iran was not a nuclear power, they didnt have a population like china did and they had a Green Revolution and all the people are saying speak out to mr. President , they were silent when barack obama did not support and it wasnt just a few people in hong kong, it was a Million People in the streets of iran and the Obama Administration made the decision they wanted to cut a deal in the future and they didnt want to antagonize that government. I disagreed with it at the time but everybody on the left supported that. Martha thats a great point. When President Obama had the opportunity to support the people in iran, there are a lot of people who believed it was potential Tipping Point moment and that moment was lost in favor of wanting to get this nuclear deal. As often happens in life and history one a moment passes you dont always get it back. They had a fraction of the potential power that china has, they are very vulnerable and we couldve done something but i dont know what you do with a chinese juggernaut that is 1. 3 billion people with Nuclear Weapons thats right down the throat of japan and taiwan and south korea. Weve got to be very careful. Martha the president is about to start speaking, when he does im gonna hop over there. Very low Unemployment Rate in New Hampshire, this is a state that republicans dont spend much time in generally but its a state he believes he might be able to flip. Hillary clinton won it narrowly. I think its possible, were going to see in the selection wisconsin, 20,000 votes, michigan 10,000 last time, pennsylvania was 70,000. Four or 5 Million People can decide the 2020 election and its codepend whether they come out, what the news cycle is, they are going to decide the election, its not going to in california or in texas either. Hes got to focus on those states and those independent voters, Tea Party People and get them out. I think that is what hes been doing all along, hes got clever people working for him. Martha Elizabeth Warren seems to be rising in the polls, quick thought on that. She had a rally, 700 people came and all of a sudden it was an extravaganza . I can see that shes rising but shes rising in the polls against the socialist and if youre going to give the country socialism, its better to say that youre a democrat and a socialist thats giving you socialism. She has brilliantly said for me to get close to biden, ive got to destroy Bernie Sanders. Shes expropriated his agenda but shes saying im not a socialist. I can give you socialism but thats more palatable. If joe biden has any stumbles, shes gonna be the front runner. Martha thank you very much much. This holds 12,000, we are full and we could fill it up four times at least. I just want to thank you all, i think its gonna be a tremendous four years, we are going to have a tremendous four years, can you believe it . We only have a little more than a year to go. The greatest movement in the history of our country. The greatest Political Movement in the history of our country and even though we had fake witch hunts on our back and all the other things we had to go through, we have taken this big, beautiful ship and its being turned around very quickly. Three years ago we campaigned across the country on a pledge to make America Great again, and thats exactly what weve done. I think we can honestly say its the greatest slogan in the history of politics in america. Make America Great again. If you dont mind, the other candidates spend millions and millions of dollars on this question that im going to ask you. They spend millions, you remember the first slogan from our opponent . The only thing i remember is the first night i went out after i heard it and i said its all about her and they immediately changed it after spending like a million dollars. That slogan wasnt good. We have to make a decision, do you give up the greatest slogan in the history of politics in our country . Do we give up make America Great again for a new slogan . Because look, our country is doing great, we are doing very well with china despite the fact that they want to have you believe to the contrary. All we have to do is say china, how are you doing . They arent too happy. They are eating the tariffs, theres no price increase. Youve got to talk to these people, the fake news. The biggest beneficiary, you know who have been great . Our great farmers have been so incredible because they have been targeted by china. Frankly they have been targeted by a long time by incompetent politicians that have run this country for a long time. We are making up for a lot of lost ground. Today, the Deputy Editor of the New York Times was demoted, isnt that beautiful . All the news thats not fit to print. The fake, failing New York Times. Truly, its week, were doing it together, they came from the hills, the mountains, the rivers, they came from All Over The Place and they showed up and they voted like nobodys seen before. And we won and now we have a lot of Car Companies coming into michigan. We have a lot of great farming events happening, really big in wisconsin. We have incredible things going on in pennsylvania, we just opened up a 10 billion plant. In louisiana, lng plant, 10 billion could never have happened. Pennsylvania wouldve never happened, they wouldve never been able to build it. I have to make a decision, its a big decision, do we give up the greatest phrase, logo, whatever you want to call it in the history of politics for a brandnew one because make America Great again, we are there but we have a little time left. Now we have a group of socialists or communists, they arent far away. The fake news will hit me on that, how dare he say that . Does anyone want to pay 95 taxes . I dont think so. Im not going to go into their plan because as far as im concerned, the green new deal, its a beautiful thing. We wanted to continue onward until about a month before the election, i will let them have it like youve never heard before. I dont want them to change. Its too early. Like Elizabeth Warren i did the pocahontas thing. I hit her really hard and it looked like she was down and out but that was too long ago, i shouldve waited. Dont worry, we will revive it. It will be revived and can be revived easily and quickly and we are going to have some fun in the state of New Hampshire. First make America Great again again, then keep America Great. Great. We are taking in billions of dollars in tariffs and china is devaluing their currency, the prices havent gone up. That means we are taking in billions of dollars, we arent paying for it. Ultimately their devaluations are gonna hurt them badly, they want to make a deal. When you listen to the fake news, look at how many there are. Thats a good thing. We love our country, we have enthusiasm for our country, thats what it is. Before the election, our factories were closing who knows it better than you . Youre like a central casting for the closing of factories. Our jobs were vanishing, our military was totally depleted, when i took over, our military was sad to. We want flying half of our plans, they were old and retired, our equipment was tired. Our people werent tired, our people want tired but everything we had was depleted. Now we have rebuilt our military like never before. All Made In The Usa and our nation was weakened at home and disrespected abroad. They dont disrespect us anymore, folks. [cheers and applause] i got nato to pay an extra hundred billion dollars they werent paying, they were delinquent, many nations except for seven many nations werent paying what they were supposed to be paying. We are supposed to protect them, they kill us on trade, they have all sorts of barriers and everything else, the taxes are really unfair, the tariffs are ridiculous, what they do to us in europe, then we protect them, and they dont pay. And i said im sorry, you have to pay. They were delinquent. And my biggest fan as secretary general stoltenberg. He said until President Trump came along, they wouldve been finished very quickly. Im tired for paying for other nations anyway. [cheers and applause] and today our nation is stronger than ever before, we are now stronger than ever before. You saw we ended the aranda iran disaster. He paid them 1. 8 billion in cash. We got nothing. They also want to make a deal, china wants to make a deal, i will tell you iran wants to make a deal because the sanctions are not good for them, they are not happy. We will see how it all turns out but its in good hands. The United States right now has the hottest economy anywhere in the world. We are rebuilding that awesome might we were just talking about, our United States armed forces. A recent poll came out where it showed President Obama was more popular in germany and other places than i am. And i said of course he is more popular, hes not demanding they pay for their protection that we provide. Hes not doing that, im doing that and in fact if i was the most popular, im not doing my job right. [cheers and applause] so true. Weve created over 6 million new jobs since the election. If i wouldve said that during the campaign, those people back there would have been headlines. More than 7 million americans have been lifted off of food stamps. [cheers and applause] since my election, the number of new businesses starting in the great state of New Hampshire has skyrocketed by almost 25 . [cheers and applause] you cant really go by my election, youve got To Go By November 9th because the markets have gone through the roof since november 9th, thats the day i won the election. I won the election, the markets went up thousands of points, things started happening, you started doing things that you wouldve never even though i didnt get sworn in until january 20th. They refused to do that. If, for some reason, i want to have won the election, these markets would have crashed. That will happen even more so in 2020. I know you like me in this room is a love fest but you have no choice but to vote for me because your 401 k , everything is going to be down the tubes. Unemployment in New Hampshire has reached the lowest rate in 31 years it will be the lowest rate in the history of our country. Wages are rising quickly. Remember when i used to say people have been working two and three jobs making less money than they made 21 years ago i used to say it all the time.
