Parents we saw some rescue efforts live on our show of young schoolage kids, their animals, their pets, the emotional toll its taking on families. Talk a little bit on what you might think that might be like . Kat its going to take a lot of cooperation with local officials who are going to know most whats going to be done. There is also an element of things take time. We still dont know about the water, sanitation issues, mosquitoes and the claimant, you cant snap your fingers and recover from something. Its going to take years. Eboni jason, a lot of that is the day in day out live. Talk a little bit about what you think the local officials in the area thats been affected, what this might be like, the lawmakers . Jason the First Responders have gone to historic levels, they need to be buoyed up, they need to be supported. I dont care if you lived in seattle or portland, maine, or salt lake city, you can get in there and help. Though donations have been blowing in. You see a lot of people pouring in a lot of money, but its also going to take some compassion and its going to take those churches and communities and those loved ones know during their time of frustration when they do try to get back in their houses and trying to rebuild that that isnt going to happen overnight. Set up shop for Social Security offices to hand out the checks. We know 5 billion is on their way, and bureaucracy should not get in the way. The money should flow right into texas. I believe in this country. I believe we have the institutions, we have the system in place to help anything, including harvey. Eboni absolutely. Your take on it from the ground up, personal level, society, cultural . Eboni, on a personal level, my wife is from the gulf coast. Shes from biloxi, mississippi. And, you know, to echo everyones point, its great to see america come together from all over the country to dive in and help. We just got so much better as a country with how to respond from this from a federal government, state government, and a community level. Last year, they werent so good at this. Fema has really come a long way. I give a lot of credit to the new fema director. Hes only been on the jumper over over two gold months, but a year ago in baton rouge, a noname storm dropped more than 30 inches, 146,000 people and their homes, people displaced, took a month to get 12 temporary Housing Units in place. And so theyve got to continue to press forward. Donald trump will be there tomorrow, the president. The Vice President was there yesterday. That does make a difference. It gives people hope. And it make sure that seniormost people in our government, the president , the Vice President all the way down, are ready to go and support the people of texas and louisiana. Fema has learned the learning curve. I hope so. Every disaster, theyve gathered info and put into practice. Eboni just a year ago, baton rouge is happy to see a lot better results here. Now onto fox news correspondent Griff Jenkins who is in texas where more operations are on the way. Hey, eboni. The rain has stopped, but the flooding continues in guy texas. I would say about a dozen residents and 45 houses in a flooded area where it evacuated as well as about 25 or 30 dogs. And its very sad, because it looks like the dogs are in poor conditions. This woman calling the fort bend sheriff here, some 4045 miles southwest of houston. We see a horse coming down the road here. They are evacuating a horse. What happens, eboni, all this water from the river and the overflowing reservoirs in houston flowing south down towards the coast, its totally impacting these communities as this course goes by us right now. We are responding on airboats. While everyone is walking in about a foot or so of water, whats trapping people, eboni, some 45 miles of this water is surrounded by 1015 feet of water. Homes submerged. In the case of this woman thats just been evacuated with her 25 very poorly treated, really, thats the only way to describe it. I accompanied sheriff nails up to the house and its just a tough situation, may be a bright thing to come out of this terrible flood was that these poor dogs are treated we do not want to interrupt your operation and be in the way, but we just want to ask what weve been going through with our viewers, the scene happening right now, what is going on here . We are trying to remove them, 60 out of 1 residence. There are other airboats out here helping families get out of their homes. We are spending our time focusing on these dogs. And the conditions of these dogs are horrible. We got to get 60 of them out of here, get them up 2 miles up to high ground and have our animal control assess the condition of these dogs. I think its horrible. I was trying to explain how good these communities are getting trapped in with the higher water, the high flooding. How much of this are you seeing . How much of this is a problem . A lot of people think the rain stopped, but you are still dealing with a very dumb sitting situation. This is the bottom Southwest Corner of fourth and the county here in guy, texas. This is the first time ive been here, and conditions are back here have been done. People want to get out of their homes. They do not know if the water is going to continue to rise. And what will happen with these dogs now. What are you going to do . Ive reached out to the animal control group. They are going to meet us out in front and im going to let them assess the dogs and let them make a determination, whether we need to call spca and have these dogs seized, which i hope they do. Sheriff, how dangerous we have heard they are doing pet rescue, but there are humans here. They have pulled a dozen or so people out of here. How has it that people have remained in these conditions and what will you do with them . I dont know. We have 750,000 people in this county. Its very populated. You have pockets, little communities where people would like to stay back, but we are recommending get out of this neighborhood, its not safe back here. If you could just, you know, talk to me so our viewers get the fuel stomach full scope of volunteers. Law enforcement now, seven days exhausted, tired and responding. Ive been saying this and every live shot, sheriff, the admiration and gratitude that everyone in the nation has for whats happening here. How are People Holding up . Time is getting tough, is it not . We have a very professional Law Enforcement organization. We have these guys on 12hour shifts, theyre doing a great job. Im very pleased with all the people Law Enforcement agencies from the state and federal agencies as well as assisting us. Its a group effort. We are doing a good job. All right, eboni. What you are looking at again, a life situation some 40 miles southwest of houston dealing with incredible flooding left by the historic amount of water thats impounded these communities, looking now at the woman, the home owner, of these dogs. Im wondering if those were deputies from the department, or civilians helping with the rescue effort . Ive seen it at every level of government. Griff, can you hear me one of the challenges, eboni, is that munication. This is a rural area, a remote area, communications. I am able to get this is the constable, by the way. The twin brother of the sheriff. Communications very tough out here. Lets just listen in for a moment weve got to be extremely careful about that. I would suggest we send the boat back, get some more secure cages from animal control, and relocate them into more secure cages. Then we can put them on the airport airboat. What the constable is talking about are these airboats you see coming by. We are so shallow on the roads companies airboats are able to move across them. They do not have a writer. Its a tough situation on day seven for the community. So tremendously hammered by the most devastating flood in these parts. Interestingly, when i mentioned earlier, the brazos river impact in watershed areas, that is the biggest crest at 55. 19 feet today putting the most historic amount of water into this watershed as its ever been. Last year, memorial day, it was the 100 year record at 54. 7 feet. Now 55. 19 today. Thats why you still see water running. Lets listen into the sheriff talking to this home owner that had all these dogs. Stay up on the left side of the road. We will go all the way down to the end and meet right there, okay . Maam, can we ask you a question . You are bringing a lot of dogs out, it looks like the dogs are a little rough shape. Why did you call and get out and why didnt you get out earlier . I was told it wasnt coming up this high. And i brought all the dogs in from outside and my dogs, they all had their shots, they get seen by a vet. They are stressed out right now too. You are glad to get out. Where will you go . I dont know. I have a friend in meadville that has a house thats above ground and she said that we could put the pens in her yard. I dont know. Did you make the decision to not recommend criminal charges before or after Hillary Clinton was interviewed by the fbi on july 2nd . After. The only way an interview takes place with the two central witnesses and the subject of the investigation is if the decision has been made that all three people in that room are not going to be charged . It is one of the areas under a voluntary evacuation right now. The houston mayor says if people in this neighborhood or in their homes are already having water inside it, they should leave now because if they dont, they could be stuck there without power or electricity for a 1015 days. I want to show you some of the water here. You can see out cork has been stopped there all day long. There are also some rescue crews back then that have been working. This area is flooded because the u. S. Army corps of engineers is releasing water from two reservoirs. They have to release water into the Buffalo Bayou on the west side of the bayou in order to make sure it doesnt overflow, and there are more catastrophic problems for the city of houston. Because of that, this neighborhood and other ones are going to experience more flooding than now. Even down this way, the current and a lot of these neighborhoods are so strong it makes it even more dangerous to be in this area. Yesterday, we were in an area where water went all the way up to the bottom of stop signs. Families, elderly couples were still being rescued. Some had stayed there because they didnt want to leave their house. Today in this area, most people seem to be taking the advice of mayor and city officials and leaving, even though the evacuation is only voluntary. It took us well over 45 minutes to get here when it probably shouldve taken us 15 because you have so many people trying to leave this area. Again, this is aimed a voluntary evacuation area. He could change it to be a mandatory evacuation, but people in this area who dont have flooding in their homes are okay to stay. Thats another concern for a communique thats dealt with a lot the past few days. Harvey touched land over a week ago and we still see flooding.
