No. Look, nancy pelosi and the democrats set the precedent here. Lets put aside the merits of this Impeachment Inquiry for a second. What did democrats think was going to happen . They have abused our institutions for years. First they pushed the trump russia collusion investigation, which was nothing. Then they impeached donald trump for a phone call with zelensky that was shameful but not impeachable. On that, after he was acquitted in a trial, now georgia is retrying him for the crimes that he was allegedly committed that he was acquitted for in the impeachment trial. They have gone after him with alvin braggs indictment, gone all of these things they have done. Did they think there was not going to be any blowback and returns wouldnt say okay, you set the precedent. You used these tools against us. By the way, also using the same institutions to protect joe biden and the hunter biden family. Collusion between the fbi and the media to suppress the Hunter Biden Story a Sweetheart Plea Deal that was thrown out by a judge. So republicans are looking at this saying one, theyre using these institutions. Fair game. Two, we dont trust the institutions anymore, so we need the tools of an Impeachment Inquiry to get to the bottom of this story, which is a legitimate inquiry as to whether or not there was corruption in the biden family. Martha i think that becomes a question. Do they have the evidence to prove this. Because you want to have a clear line through this inquiry because these allegations are very serious and there is quite a bit of evidence that points in this direction that has been uncovered by the oversight committee. To answer your question to speak to marcs point, the ideal that republicans are using this for payback on the president might be the problem and might land terribly with the american meme. This impeachment is happening days away from a potential Government Shutdown where Kevin Mccarthy, if the votes were happen tonight, does not have enough votes to keep the government funded. At the same time to your initial question that you asked for, if Kevin Mccarthy put a bill on the floor like nancy pelosi did twice, he doesnt have enough votes to pass that through the house of representatives. So right now Kevin Mccarthy is between a rock and a hard place. He also theres a likelihood that this impeachment could begin and Kevin Mccarthy not be the speaker anymore. The politics is trumping the evidence here, which there doesnt seem to be enough clear evidence to stand in a courtroom to prove that joe biden has committed high crimes and misdemeanors enough to cause an Impeachment Inquiry. Martha thats why you have the inquiry. It does allow Subpoena Power that could bring forth some of theres allegations that the president and his son were bribed in ukraine. Lets talk about the evidence that you see substantiates the need for this very serious step that was taken by Kevin Mccarthy today. There is so much evidence. Were tripping over evidence. The reason for this Impeachment Inquiry is to have more tools to really prove it to the American People. Did the homeowner give you any further details about what happened there . Well, its understanding that last night when he went in to the homeowners garage that he stole a 22 caliber rifle. That rifle was believed to have up to ten round of ammunition. Unfortunately that rifle has not been caught yet. So we consider mr. Cavalcante dangerous. Hes armed. That raises the stakes for our officers, our Deputy Marshalls who are following mr. Cavalcante and increases the chances that no, sir is going to be used to make an arrest. Martha so we have a map of the different sightings and the places hes been. What do you say to those that criticize the work that has been done at the prison, by the police, the marshalls at this point that hes been able to get away from everybody in spite of all the sightings that you see here . Well, to the people that criticize, i invite them to come down here and try to run this investigation any better than the Pennsylvania State police than lieutenant givens, the deputy u. S. Marshals that have been down here for two weeks and given it all. You have to remember the environment that were chasing mr. Cavalcante has been in very challenging places. Its a place where we need to set a tactical perimeter up that covers eight square miles. Another perimeter that is almost six square miles. That is a long area for Law Enforcement to cover. This isnt a wall. It doesnt have ceilings. These perimeters are breachable. Were doing the best we can to contain mr. Cavalcante. The Deputy Marshalls are Setting Contingencies again should he break perimeter to stay a step ahead of him. We will hunt mr. Cavalcante down.
