Lauderdale and met with the staff there and again encouraged many of those who were visiting at the soul Food Restaurant to head straight to the polls. She then went and talked to the lbgtq community at a gay nightclub. And finally, last night, she was here in miami at a jlo concert with marc anthony targeting latinos. So it is clear Hillary Clinton is trying to solicit votes here in florida where the new polls show that shes in a dead heat with donald trump. Democrats used to be feeling superior because of the mistreatment of women by donald trump. But the fact of this detracting with anthony weaner, how long they put up with him and how tolerant they were putting him back into the stories is Something Else. On friday when they news of the investigation reopened well, not reopened but new life was breathed into it. There was no information as to why because comeys letter was straight to the point with no details. Right. Then two hours later, we get an email from Greg Gutfield who says the New York Times is reporting its connected to Anthony Weiner. As the former press secretary, im hoping so much one of the press people on the Clinton Campaign will write a book one day to tell me what went through their mind. Because if i found out it was Anthony Weiners sex messaging that was going to cause a huge amount to Hillary Clinton in the last nine days, i probably would have said words. Words, some of them shorter, some of them good, short words. I said on friday i thought that on the Richter Scale of political politics, the president ial politics, this was a ten. What do you think . No, its not a ten. Its big. You know, heres two ways to look at it. One way is that the election is probably about 20 done. Because of early voting. Early voting. So were getting closer. As i wrote in Halftime Report this week. The way to think about the election isnt that its nine days away, its that its 20 over. And think of it as your little loading bar on your phone that as the app is downloading, were loading, loading, loading, loading, it matters a lot. People going to the polls right now. How will it affect republicans . Yes, it gives donald trump something to talk about. Its not about donald trump. Hell be on the attack. Unless the republicans feel a surge of optimism like this is not over, we can do this. If the rallies trump has, the energy is incredible. They are so excited. Fired up and ready to go, as barack obama used to say. How does it affect persuadable voters or what i will call soft clinton . These are suburbanites who dont like Hillary Clinton. Remember, her favorability rating is we have this. We have favorability ratings. Lets pull that up to show the people at home who are watching. Hillary clinton is at 45 favorable in the fox news poll. And donald trump is at 42 favorable. Look at the unfavorability numbers. 53 and 56 . Its really a tie. Its really a tie of failure. A failure tie. That would be like if charlie hurt and i ran the Marine Corps Marathon today, we would have tied by dying at the fourth mile. If you got to four miles right, exactly. Just right there. But the how this affects soft hillary vote, people hate trump and will vote for hillary. You get this and go theres one fundamental question we have to answer here. The United States didnt have a federal police force. We had the secret service to deal with treasury stuff starting in the 1860s. But we didnt have a federal force until the 20th century. One of the reasons we didnt want it is because the federal government was too middlesome. It was interesting, the clinton camp said we dont want to interfere with the election. And the trump people say, boo interfere you hack and now comey said, light interference, like were going to lean into this a little bit. And now the roles have reversed. So now i would just say, all americans aught to be concerned about the federal government meddling in elections. But, comma, but dont take the word partisan like they have an objective opinion. Im thinking about the i can Hillary Clinton team, they are mad about this, but they need to point the finger on themselves. They blew off the investigation for so long. They demanded the secrecy read the stolen emails, you see what theyre saying. You know what i just read . Apparently theres a source in the fbi telling a news organization, whom i cant remember, i saw it on twitter, so its completely accurate, there are 650,000 emails on this computer that they seized. How many of them are of Anthony Weiner . Hopefully not many. Can you imagine the poor fbi . They actually have much to do and they are sorting through emails like, this one is inappropriate. This is inappropriate. 1,000 pictures of Anthony Weiners area. Oh, sheesh. Well get into the data dive. Because you have information as to how much can an october surprise like this actually sway an election. Its a really good data dive. Im totally happy about this. New york times, they do a cnn college, they say donald trump is up, up, up in four by four points. But if you look at nbc news and the maris poll, they say Hillary Clinton is up by a point in a deadlocked race. Remember, if donald trump did not win in florida, he cannot be president. Its pretty simple. Another state that falls into the category is North Carolina. That shows Hillary Clinton up by one point in North Carolina. That is im sorry, thats six points there. That is six points for North Carolina. Maybe more than any other previous red state. And this is my fave moment. And take this with a grain of salt. This is the crazy Research Poll that has Hillary Clinton up four. Things are what . Things are weird. Things are weird. And things could be tightening up, right . Because trump has a little bit of a new life in his campaign and excited on the trail. What do you make of these stakes . Every year we are lucky enough to be working in a lot of the states. Many people come home in a state that tends to lean more red, end dependents need to be more conservative. And those conservatives come home to the republican party. But its been the craziest year i have seen, just like everybody on the panel will talk about in some way, but we have never really seen the unknowns of will the youth vote really show up . What will the latino effect really be . How many blue collared people who want to see the jobs return from the disaster policies . And the pollsters are going to go out there. But at the end of the day, the American People have to go vote. That is really the truth. But you really cant measure what you dont know. And you dont know what the impact is going to be until that day. I heard you earlier, 20 of americans already voted. Were getting there, charlie, for you can feel at the end of last week, the air going out of trum trumpganistan. You could feel the impending sense of doom. Until friday at 2 00. But this revelation changed that. This was an attitude shift for the gop. I would argue that hes starting to bounce back a little bit from a really, really poor couple of weeks. Right. Even in the fox poll, remember, it is now three points. So the sound i heard was just him getting bigger and greater and elevated. And then, obviously, the thing happened on friday. But from the beginning, i think one of the reasons why it is so hard to pull this off in the swing states of texas and alaska, is that trump from the beginning, obviously, he does things differently. Fair. He steps out of the rule book. But hes run very much a national campaign, which is what may turn out to be a very bad thing come election day. And so Something Like what has happened over the weekend with the emails is very much a sort of that helps a national thats not targeting some little place in one district in maine that he needs to win. Its a national thing. Can he get the National Media coverage wherever he goes. You remember florida. Things are tightening up in florida. I saw that Hillary Clinton is there today. Shep went through, like, everything, church, gay nightclubs, whole foods, every box you can check she did it today. And donald trump is going to spend a lot more time there this week that makes a lot of sense for them. As chris said, without florida, its hard to see how he gets to the presidency. And even with florida, its going to be difficult for him. Look, i would say that two weeks ago it was really dire for the other republican because donald trump was tweeting about posing the other republican play on paul ryan. And so what you face as the prospect of the perfect storm where the never trumpers would vote against the top of the ticket and the trumpers, they felt they were going down, would vote against the bottom of the ticket. That doesnt look like its happened. No, everybody is coming home, democrats and republicans, and gary johnson well see. I think the senate race is where we really have to watch. I dont need someone telling me. Im worried. Everybody knows that. And you work in politics. Yes. No kidding. Amazing. What do you think about some races . I melt like the news on friday gave republicans Something Else to talk about going into the last eight days. Instead of talking about donald trump and whether hes a good role model or not, now saying okay. Lets talk about Hillary Clinton and your support of her. Exactly. Includes this whole thing couldnt be tailored better for those candidates running in tight races in the races that arent supposed to be tight. They can turn the tables and say, okay, the things being asked if donald trump is a good role model he can say do you trust Hillary Clinton. Do you think that is a tough question. I would think, for any reasonable person. Overwhelming answer is no. On both of the candidates. Bill, charlie mentioned in the New Hampshire race, i find it one of the mostinteresting. And if not, probably right. Theyre very different in the sense that the gap is higher with the donald. Yes. She suffers more. Pat toomey has always been a competitive race. Always. That is the pennsylvania seat. So a lot is based on external events and the fbi saying i think is characteristic of the campaign in that people dont like either the candidates in many ways. So theyre both sides are very vulnerable to something happening. Right. And that could be a fbi investigation. Because Hillary Clinton had within doing well in philadelphia. Oh. My question is a lot of that was down to women. Right. And on any story like this. Does that keep them home from vote something. They dont have early voting in pennsylvania. They dont have early voting to speak of in pennsylvania. But the issue becomes how much time is left in this election . Nine days is about three eras in terms of the election. Right . Youve prepared and you have to roll out of digital media. Phone calls an on the Ground Organization and a lot of tv commercials. And there is so much tv on tv now. How many stats does donald trump have in arizona . Skeeror. 31 offices, there is 0 and theyre still even. Saying that is safe . Absolutely. That is reported. It could have been different seven days ago. For donald trump to have none of that there and be even in a republican state. They dont know what is in those emails. The fbi, i think there is a lot of misreporting. The Washington Post talked about the fbi, says this is the reason. A lot of people disagreed with the fbi conclusion did so because the possess was so different and it was, you know, you think if youre going after president ial candidates you dot your is and cross your ts. But Hillary Clinton, that is her lead. Theyre both going to go up. Will trump go up enough to eclipse here . Do you think shell go up after all of this . Could her number go down . So the polls show the margin is what matters. In the end, undecided voters if you say youre undecided, youre not a likely voter. The tide comes in on election day. Shes not going to finish at 44. Theyre both going to go up from there. The question is, can he do essentially what john, or what al gore did, and hold it past her . Do you agree with her . The time is the important thing. Its a predicted model. Here is how many latinos, here is how many women, how many african americans, how many noncollege educated wives. This is based off Historical Data that makes it not a guessing game. You have to measure that. You can see polls ride because theyve been wrong a little bit. It hasnt been that much. This time, donald trump is even. Right. That may be true. And the shy trump voter to people. And there is no evidence of this in polling. Because theyre shy .
