Those results will be released to the campaigns and the public around 4 00 p. M. Local time today. It seems that all of these issues really came up because of a new reporting app that was meant to make the process quicker for precincts get results in to the state party. According to the chair of iowa democrats, there was a coding issue. That was sort of the cause of all of this chaos. In a Statement Released earlier today, the chair said this. While the app was recording data accurately, it was reporting out only partial data. This issue was identified and fixed. The applications reporting issue did not impact the ability precinct chairs to report data accurately because of the required paper documentation we have been able to identify that the data recorded in the avenues to calculate delegate equivalents is valid and accurate. They are adamant it secure and didnt suffer any cybersecurity intrusion. They claim independent cybersecurity consultants tested the systems before all this. The department of Homeland Security says they offered to test the new app but were turned down. Are cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency had offered to test that app from a hacking perspective. They declined, so we are seeing a couple of issues with that parent i would say right now we dont see any malicious labor activity going on. This is more of a stress or a lewd issue as well as a reporting issue we are seeing in iowa. What i would say is given the amount of scrutiny that we have on Election Security these days, this is a concern event. It really goes to the Public Confidence of our elections. This is the third president ial cycle in a row where the caucus results in iowa have been confusing, to say the least. Back in 2012 the Republican Party declared mitt romney the winner of the Iowa Caucuses only to announce a recount and declare Rick Santorum the winner two weeks later. The Iowa Democratic party made a handful of changes to the caucuses this year, and at increasing transparency after questions came up. Post 2016, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders were so close the sanders team asked to see the raw vote count, but the iowa state party, the state Democratic Party, had not kept track of those numbers. So this year they planned to release the raw vote totals as well as the state delegate equivalent. Three numbers in all, all of it in an effort to be more transparent.
