We found out today that he does want the public to see it. He said, let it come out. Though he is still miffed about the fact that Jeff Sessions recused himself from the russia investigation and that an appointed Deputy Attorney general then appointed a special counsel. Listen to what the president said about that. Let it come out, let people see it. Thats up to the attorney general. We are very good attorney general, hes very highly respected man. Well see what happens. But its sort of interesting that a man out of the blue just write the report. President trump said, of course, he won the Electoral College. 3 30 6223, which is a landslide in terms Electoral College even though he lost the overall popular vote. In 70 comes along who is appointed and appoint somebody else and now suddenly theres a report. The president said he wants the tens of millions of people who voted for him to see the report. He said, lets see if its fair. Whether or not this report will ever see the light of day something thats a question. By mandate, Robert Mueller hands off the report to the attorney general william barr and then william barr decides whether or not he is going to release any of it to congress and whether or not he will release any of it to the public. Theres a possibility as well, harris, that the white house will demand to see that report before he goes to congress. Because if it contains any material that is subject to executive privilege, the White House Counsels Office will likely want to review that material to see if it would waive executive privilege or if it would demand reduction. So theres a really good chance that it will go from mueller to william barr, to the White House Counsels Office, then to congress. But if there isnt any executive privilege material it could just go to william barr and then to congress. But the president said he wants to see it, so in some way, shape, or form, its likely to end up on his desk here at the white house. Harris one thing we saw yesterday with the Michael Cohen documents on the warrant that came out was that heavilyredacted portion. I mean, full pages. What are we anticipating . I know william barr had said in his attorney general confirmation hearing that he would go per regulations and rules in terms of that. But whatever hearing about redacting end with the president would want the public to see . Who knows, harris question rick again, depends within the report. The only people who know whats in the report at this moment of people who are working inside the office of the special counsel. They are not telling anybody. Again, if it does contain material that is subject to executive privilege, i would expect that we are going to see that material rejected unless the white house deems that its inconsequential and goes ahead and lets it get released. But it could be anywhere from no reactions to heavy reductions. I would be wagering a total gas i have no clue. Harris i guess we spoke on, thats what i was getting too, is the executive advantage or executive privilege. Harris yeah, the privilege that could be exercised in terms of the reduction. Dont forget, a lot of people forget the way that this works. The Justice Department is part of the administration. On all of this, the article two of the constitution says this is a report that is coming from one branch of the administration subject to article two to another branch of the administration which is again subject to article two. On this big building behind me is subject to article two of the constitution. See if that mueller, article two. The doj, article two. You got the white house, article two. Its not like its going from congress to the doj or going from some private organization or investigation. Its within the administration. William barr could say im not going to release any of it. Attorney in, named rosenstein in the henchmen named andrew weissmann. These guys need to be investigative themselves. But they wont be as long as hes doing working on his own dossier.
