We will support our police. Be will defend our flag. We will rebuild our military. We will take care of our great, great veterans. Were taking care of our veterans. They came also from campaign contributions. Were not as stupid as you think. We will cut wasteful spending. We will promote our values. We will rebuild our inner cities. We will bring back our jobs and our dreams. And by the way we will protect our second amendment. [applause] wayne and chris are here from the nra, and they didnt have that on the list, its lucky i thought about it. [laughter] but we will indeed, and are great people. And by the way they love our country. They love our country. The nra has been a great supporter. They love our country. The forgotten men and women of america will be forgotten no longer. That is the heart of this new movement. And the future of the republican party. People came to vote, and these people the media, they said where are they coming from . Whats going on here . These are hard working, great, great americans. These are unbelievable. These are people who were not treated fairly. Hillary called them deplorable. Theyre not deplorable. Who would have thought a word was going to play so badly. One wrong word and its over. She also said ir redeemable, but we meant mention that. The gop will be also of the american working. We as a group havent been given credit for this. If you look at how much bigger our party has gotten during this cycle. During the early days when we had 17 people running, the primaries. Millions and millions of people were joining. I wont say it was because of me, but it was. Okay . And we have an amazing, strong, powerful party that truly does want to see america be great again, and it will see it. And its going to see it a lot sooner than we think, believe me. A lot sooner than you think. We will not answer to donors or lobbyists or special interests but we serve the citizens of the United States of america, believe me. Global cooperation, dealing with other countries, getting along with other countries is good. Its very important. But there is no such thing as a global anthem. A global currency. Or a global flag. This is the United States of america that im representing. Im not representing the globe, im representing your country. Theres one allegiance that unites us all. And that is to america. America. The allegiance to america. No matter our background or income, or geography, were all citizens of this blessed land. And no matter our color, or the blood, the color of the blood we bleed its the same red, red blood of great patriots. We all salute with pride the same american flag. And we all are equal totally equal in the eyes of almighty god. Were equal. And i want to thank, by the way the evangelical community, the christian community. Communities of faith, rabbis, and priests, pastors, ministers, because the support for me not only in terms of numbers of people but in percentage of numbers that voted for. I want to thank you folks. It was an amazing out pouring, and i will not disappoint you. As long as we have faith in each other and trust in god then there is no goal beyond our reach. There is no dream too large, no task too great, we are americans and the future belongs to us. The future belongs to all of you. And america is coming about, and its coming back, and its roaring, and you can hear it. Its going to be bigger and better, it is going to be. It is going to be. Remember. And its roaring. Its going to be bigger and better, and stronger than ever before. I want to thank you and madam mercedes and all of the supporters i have, i see them. Theyre all over the place. You really great people. With want to thank you. God bless you and god bless the United States of america. Thank you. This was the main event at cpac and part of this speech was like a speech youd hear at the friars club in new york city. A very comfortable room for the president and a lot of familiar themes, too. We will put our own citizens first aclear reference to the proposed travel ban, immigration, trade, economy. Obama care doesnt work, calling for repeal and replace, he says the wall will be built ahead of schedule his comment today. He covered a lot. Welfare, the military, and a plan to take on isis, which is set to be revealed early next week. Based on reaction the audience this was wellreceived by those present. To our viewers joining us, thank you for being with us on this friday morning and please stayed tuned to the Fox News Channel and this station for continuing coverage of this story. Until then, im bill, in new york. We heard from steve bannon yesterday, the president would come in with an appreciative tone and he did say a lot of thank yous and he singled out a number of groups and conservatives and he said i wouldnt be here without you. Thank you. Interesting three and a half days there at cpac. Now it will conclude after the main event there. We are past our time, by the way. We are. Like 10 minutes over. Im thinking. Our colleagues are going to kill us. Were going to give it to happening now right now. See you on monday. Byebye. We start with a fox news alert, we await signature on another executive order that ties into his speech. Im jenna lee. Well get to that the next couple of hours. Jon scott conservative Political Action conference gave arousing welcome and a number of standing ovations, despite what has been a complicated relationship with that group. As a candidate last year, he did not appear at the conference and he addressed that a little bit in his speech. Back at the white house where the president is expected by about noon he will sign a new executive order on regulatory reform. Later this afternoon, he sits down with former rival Ohio Governor john kasich. The chief of staff Reince Priebus asked the fbi to deny news reports sorting through the facts of that, we have roberts whos joining us live from the north lawn. Jenna, good morning to you. Reince priebus was trying to pressure the fbi into knocking down the New York Times story that was out on valentines day that suggested there were fbi intercepts and conversations between the Campaign Officials last year, and people who were connected to russian intelligence. A senior white house source saying it was actually the fbi who came to Reince Priebus with that information after a mornink after that story came out. Priebus reacted by saying to andrew mccabe, the deputy connector of the fbi came forwad with the information to say that story was bogus, bs, according o the Senior Administration sourc. Can the fbi correct the record . Mccabe told priebus to call him back in a couple of hours. Priebus did that at which time e was told by mccabe, the fbi cant be calling news and strikes. Putting out releases every day. Mccabe did suggest while the intelligence committees are goig to be briefed about a lot of things this will come out. Shortly after that that devin nunez, the chairman of the house intelligence committee, said he understood there was no truth to these reports that officials had been in contact with people from the campaign. Priebus later that day called james comey to talk about this. Comey again told him the story was quote, b. S. , but repeated the fbi couldnt get into issuig statements about it. Priebus asked comey do you mind if i go out there. A couple of days later, heres what priebus said about reports of the New York Times on fox and friends. What i just told you is what the highest levels of the Intelligence Community have told me, which is its it is an inaccurate and grossly over stated story, and its not true. So if the white house is insisting it did not pressure te fbi into anything that the fbi came forward, it simply made inquiries as to whether or not they could correct the record. There are bright lines twine the. Were potentially in a grey area here. Well see what else the white house has to say. It ties into the narrative of media coverage. The president also talking about the american burker. Well talk about his policies will impact us in the economy after this quick break. Did we win anything . Did we win anything . Were gonna win, were gonna win big, folks. Were gonna start winning again, folks. Believe me. Were gonna win. If youre just joining us the president speaking at cpac, i wanted to play a little bit of that particular sound bite for you because i think it really plays into the theme that he was really focused on today. Of course the president speaking at the conservative, uh, the conservative, uh, values, uh, conference and what he had to sy about winning came several minutes after criticizing the news media. The president came into Office Despite the doubts about his conservative values and he skipped the gathering last year all together and is now the firt republican president to address it in his inaugural year since ronald reagan. Editor for the wall street journal. Obviously the audience is domestic as your audience, glen. What did you make of the speech . What stands out most to you . It was interesting how he balanced the message to cpac thy would want to hear on cutting regulations and spending, the second amendment, but also injected his own brand of populous and nationalism. I was struck by him saying the gop Going Forward of being the party of the american worker, antiglobalism and redefining trade relationships. Hes defining the agenda as much as e went there to bring them a message of thanks as well as support for his causes. The idea of identity for the republican party, for the conservative movement over all s something much talked about over the last several days and i thought that was an interesting statement the president made as well. The gop will also be the party f the american worker. He said that very directly. What do you think he mean by that . He talked a lot also about hs base of support, the forgotten americans, and were talking about people who are the Blue Collar Workers across the country. Not necessarily the ones that gt the attention on the coasts or n the media all the time. What he was talking about is whn you redo those trade deals you o it in a way that protects american jobs. You help them rebuild their communities. Loaf his plans are to put ameria first and that antigloballest message was its about protectig america and doing right by the american worker. I think it translates into all f the policies he talked about. Cutting regulations. Cutting the deficit and redeploying those resources for the purposes that will help the American People. I think theres lot of message there that was targeted at the people outside of washington and new york. Its interesting to juxtapose that to barack obama to focus on global citizen. Its something that president obama talked about a hot from te camp pain. This is an interesting shift. We have the president go back to the white house. Hes going to be signing some executive orders on regulation. What u bow todays actions, and how will they make an impact on the Business Community or jobs . Our understanding is that ord ser going to put down a requirement for all of the cabinet and agencies to have a task force that looks at regulation, tries to cut costly and redundant regulation. Thats another one of his effors to make it clear to the American People that hes fulfilling his campaign promises. As steve bannon did yesterday, he said te president is mu nyeicly focused on delivering those promises. Thats an interesting word choice on that. Thank you so much. Sir theres been a breach. We need your password so we can lock down the system. My password . Yes, sir, we need your password. The password that i use . Yes, sir, your password. Theres been another breach sir right. Okay. Iha. Temyjob1. Ihatemyjob1 . Wanna get away . Now you can with southwest fares as low as 59 dollars oneway. Yes to low fares with nothing to hide. Thats transfarency. Sfx clap, clap, ding isis is the worst jihadi threat we have seen in almost a century, but on january 20, 2017 at 12 00 p. M. It all changed. Were going from eight years of were going to the threat, degrade the threat. So how about this . We are going to eradicate isis. [applause] that was the president s Deputy Assistant Sebastian Gorka at a cpac this morning, just one of the multiple threats facing american today, Foreign Policy was the subject of that panel. My next guest was a moderator of that panel, and hell be a familiar face to you. Gordon is an analyst and 8 of te nuclear show down, north korea takes on the world. It was a fascinating panel and im wondering for our viewers wo missed it, one of the Big Questions that were asking tody is what does cpac tell us about the identity of the conservative movement in this country, and hw does it play into the Administration Overall . Youve been looking at Foreign Policy over the years and im curious what you think defines Foreign Policy in 2017 and contrast that to five years ago, ten years ago. What do you think makes it different today . What is different today, jenna, is the war of ideas. During this whole panel that we had this morning, during all of cpac, we have been talking about the defense of american ideals. Freedom, democracy, liberty. I thinker thats really whats different. Were talking about how we were not whipping to say what was happening, but now we are willig to use the right labels, and thats critical. Because you cant beat them unless you also have oo war of ideals and you fight it as well. Gordon, do you believe that the conservatives at cpac have embraced that . In the past year, it wasnt just democrats who didnt want to use certain terms. Yes, of course, its not just the last eight years, its realy the last 16 years. So this is a change in the mentality, i think, of the conservative movement. We are not fighting islam. We are fight jihadists, and that was made clear by a number of people on the panel. This is the United States. We have been so unwilling to tak about american values. Someone from the audience shoutd out you cant win a batum of ideas. Of course you cant. You cant went win it, though f youre not willing to say what you believe in. You mentioned the word jihad, i remember a conversation i had with a lawmaker several years ao who said he never wanted to use that term for very specific reasons. He didnt want to use that term at all and now as you mention my be a different word choice. In the mean time, i want to ask you about north korea. We learned today that the chemical agent that was used to kill the half brother of the north Korean Leader is one of te most dangerous chemical agents n the entire world, and were seeing some video, gordon, again of this attack taking place. Weve talked about the threat of a nuclear north korea. But what about this threat that they might have used this very dangerous chemical agent in a very public place to take down someone they thought was an enemy. North koreans use dx nerve agent, which is a weapon of mass destruction. We have to be really clear that the North Koreans are willing to use the worlds most destructive weapons on a mass basis. Theyve killed many people so this is something in their dna f the regime. The North Koreans they have a lt of chemical weapons, theyve got a lot of biological weapons. They now have perhaps 16 to 20 nuclear weapons, and theyve got long range missiles to deliver them. What do you think is a threat to america . Not just based on the Nuclear Arsenal we continue to watch, bt the Chemical Warfare that you mentioned . Well, in the first hours of a war on the korean peninsula, we estimate that there were maybe e 250,000 people who would die in the city of seoul alone. The casualties are just staggering. And weve got american troops that are defending south korea. We are the trip line there because at this point you didnt have americans on the south korean peninsula, you would of course have general war. Because it is the North Koreans regimes primary basis of legitimacy is to take over south korea by force if necessary. Weapons of mass destruction means chemical weapons by definition. Just a quick final question for you, this attack, this assassination, uh, reported assassination was very planned, very organized, very rerehearse. Anyone who was a part of it also must have known there were going to be viewer yo cameras. Im curious your thoughts to that. What is truly the message from north korea . I think thats why the North Koreans used the vietnamese and indonesian woman and the people who were in the middle of this conspiracy, the ones authorities are trying to find, are North Koreans. Theyre the ones between the perpetrators and the master min. Its a really scary story, ad one with bigger implications. Im glad we had a chance to talk about that. Great to have you on the program as always, thank you very much. Thanks, jen shawn when we coe back, back to domestic politics as voters deliver a tongue repu. If i lose that, i could get end up dying of cancer. We are voters. Lots of anger out there as republican lawmakers fake more back. With their constituents. We have heard reports, at least, that some members of congress, a number, arent even hosting town halls are not even showing up back home during the congressional recess. Those that do, as you just saw, are getting an earful. Julian epstein, former chief council of the house under the democrats, former staff director of the house government reform committee, and then we have chrs wilson former Ted Cruz Campaign polester partner of wpa opinion research, one of the largest republican polling firms. If i am guessing, chris, you are joining us from cpac with a crod that is anything but angry, you might say. Thats a good guess. You had this juxtaposition, the crowd behind you at cpac fired up, ready to go, to steala line about president and about his agenda especially as it relates to obama care. A lot of applause lines there. On the other hand you have these town halls where a number of lawmakers, republican included, are showing up and getting man blasted. Do you think republicans got a little bit surprised . Well, i think its probably first of all republicans would e making a big mistake to dismiss it as if it is less than important. I think democrats learned that message the hard way when they dismissed the tea party in 2010. The president made an important point that probably the most politically expedient think republicans could do is health obama care die on its own. Help the people who are showing up angry is to replace obama cae with something that actually works. There are a lot of people losing their insurance, and it does hae to be replaced. If its not the people who are angry today are going to be even more angry in a year or two. I guess well see over the next couple of days the folks showing up, angry, lifting president s speech and bought that argument. Im guessing you dont think thy will. I agree with everything chris just said. I think in the way the democrats made a big mistake dismissing te tea party protest, republicans would make a huge mistake dismissing the protests that are going on in town halls today. All of the major news organizations have all shown there may be some Organization Behind this, but none of the protesters are paid protesters. The anger is all very, very organic. Republicans have had seven years now to come up an alternative to obama care and havent been able to articulate what that policy is. In the mean time, 20 million americans are going to Lose Health Care without a replacement, hundred of millions of americans can lose protectio. You do get a sense, julian, listening to those folks at thee town halls this is what theyre angry about. A number of the issues you just brought up, preexisting conditions, losing Health Insurance entirely, their children being kicked off their plans, all things obama care spoke to. Take a listen to tom cotton who had a couple of thousand people show up at his town hall. Obviously we had a lot of people in that room that disagreed with me. Part of my job is to listen thoe people we represent. I tried to listen to their concerns but also explain the reasons why i think obama care, although i can see has helped some people, has hurt many more. Is this the right way for republican lawmakers to explain why they need obama care, why obama cares bad for other people . I think its the best approach. I dont know if there is a perfect approach, and in every situation the approach that tom cotton is taking, mike lee would take utah or ted cruz taking texas. The fact is the right approach s to try and explain what is going to be the replacement and how these voters would be better of. Just to dismiss the organization would also be a mistake. In that video if you watched the entire thing, theres lot of people that showed up with premade, pre printed signs. Those things were paid for by a group that is organizing this. Theres been a lot written about that. There is Organization Behind it. That is really important that ay senate, make sure he understands those concerns and addresses them. There may be a little Organization Behind it, but even senator cotton who you just showed on your screen was the first one to say this energy is organic, all the people that wee coming to his town halls were thought paid, they bur instate,i think chris is right to say to dismiss it would be very foolis. We gotta julian, we gotta wrap up, but i think you both agree on the point. You have to applaud somebody lie tom cotton whos showing up, facing these crowds. Were hearing theres a lot senators who just arent even going to any town halls or are only doing teleconference town halls so they dont face these kinds of crowds. Couldnt agree with you more. Gentlemen, appreciate you gus being there. Thank you. All the best. Jenna . Jenna lee president not mincing words when it comes to media. Calling the press the Opposition Party. Today while addressing cpac, the president weighed in as well. Were going to debate that next. I want you all to know that e are fighting the fake news. Its fake. Phoney. Fake. And because we pay him a fair price, he improves his farm to grow even Better Coffee and invest in his community, which makes his neighbor, gustavo, happy. Thats blanca. Yup, pepe and blanca got together. Things happen. All this for a smoother tasting cup of coffee. Green mountain coffee. Packed with goodness. We asked people to write down the things they love to do most on these balloons. Travel with my daughter. Roller derby. Now give up half of em. Do i have to . This is a tough financial choice we could face when we retire. But, if we start saving even just 1 more of our annual income. We could keep doing all the things we love. Prudential. Bring your challenges. I want you all to know that e are fighting the fake news. Its fake, phoney, fake. A few days ago i called the fake news the enemy of the people, ad they are. They are the enemy of the peopl. Im against the people that make up stories and make up sources. They shouldnt be allowed to use sources unless they use somebodys name. Let their name be put out there. Let their name be put out. President slamming the media again this morning for its coverage of his administration. One day after his chief strategist called the press, quote, the Opposition Party. Here to talk about, radio talk show house, allen bureau chief for talk radio news services, ladies good to have you as both our fox news contributors. Tammy, to you first. It appears, though, the presidet has found his foil the administration has found their foil. I dont think they were looking for this foil, either. Look, uh the American People hae not liked the direction of certain people in the legacy media, certainly the washington of it. The Approval Rating of the media is below that of cockroaches whn you poll the American People according to gallop. Cockroaches or congress . Congress Approval Ratings doubled since he took over. Its now below cockroaches. Oh. What youve got here is a dynamic that really the experienced originally and organically during the campaign. He had, i think, a Good Relationship with new york medi. It was not never an issue in his life and this is whats importat for the American People and this is what hes saying. The media put this on themselve. Hes not declaring them an enemy of the people, they effectively did that when they put their lot in with one side of the politicl spectrum. The medias role as we try to do here at fox, is to present a variety of views and be as fair as we can. Thats what the American People want and what the media is doin, of course, is being propaganda. I think it depends on which media out let you might be talking butte. Thats what i noted. To that end, for an opposing view, heres ellen. Thank you. Well, let me just say something, the medias job is to hold everybodys feet to the fire and do nobodys bidding. Whether it was the media doing Hillary Clintons bidding or soe of the media. Ellen, you and talked about it. You complained when you felt lie the media wasnt being fair to Bernie Sanders or being tough enough on hillary clinton. Do you mind being called by stee bannon the Opposition Party . First of all, no, i dont. I know steve bannon and i think hes a gentleman, and i mean gentleman. I have been very impressed with him. Im not one of these people thats antibannon. But i will say this, vetting is our job, to be the opposition al the time. To both parties, to whoevers there, and to question whatever happens because the media is pat of our democracy. Its the first amendment, and president said today that he believes in the first amendment. Well, and perhaps he was thinking about napoleon who once said four hostile newspapers are more to be fear than a thousand bayonettes, you do get the sense that the media has focused on te president and his administration for the first 100 days or so. Ladies, thank you for being her. Thank you. Ellen, thanks for being with us. Tammy stick around. Jenna lee we wanted to talk to tammy a little bit more because tammys been a regular on our program for several years and you appeared with allen combs and we were hoping to talk to you a little bit yesterday. As happens news sometimes gets n the way a little bit. You had such a great relationshp with ammon, allen, and i just wanted to give you an opportuniy to reflect on his sad passing. Yesterday it was disappointing. Obviously were all in shock. One of the great things, when i moveed to new york a few years ago, what i loved was the fact that we had our regular debate n happening now with allen. I got to know everybody, and without exception everyone here has been wonderful. But allen was unique and that of course hes a liberal. Hes generally a liberal, it subscribes to those policies, bt he also is a great guy. We bonded over things like animl rights. His commitment to this audience. Debates, which we disagreed with a lot, t was fun because we like each other. We respect where each other was coming from and he was okay sometimes when i would win, a lt of times of course, in our debates. When we would leave the studio whats interesting is we would talk about what had an impact, our interest in the fact that te audience would get both sides, and that we knew we werent here to tell people what we think. Were there to put more information into the tool chest so we could decide. I think you can see on the air, on this network, when people lie each other. And liberals who are comfortable with how they present their views, and their liberal policy love this audience because they knew it was a smart audience. Allen was one of those people, a great guy, a generous man, doing things in his life that people didnt know about. He was interested in things like humanism, and again the real importance of the morality of treating animals decently and te value of those lives that we all can relate to. So his loss is a tremendous one for liberals, its a tremendous one for this network, because he stands as an example of what we can accomplish and how you can e friends with people with whom yu may disagree politically. It was a special relationshi. We always enjoyed having you two on together. We all benefited from it and certainly we share your sadness as woe all feel sad about allens passing. Well be right back with more. Everything your family touches sticks with them. Make sure the germs they bring home dont stick around. Use clorox disinfecting products. Because no one kills germs better than clorox. Its an annual tradition here on happening now this time of year, oscar prediction time. With anticipation building ahead of hollywoods biggest night, we asked oscar expert who will wake away with the golden statues. Keeping us honest about Foreign Policy issues and other wise. Jenna lee at this time of the year, he switches completely. Tarik, best picture. Whos getting the award . La la land, a colorful, dazzling, romantic musical. Its been wowing audiences and critics alike, and its won of the precursor awards. So watch for it to now dance off with the best picture oscar. Turning over to a best lead actr this is a tough, tough race between casey after lack in the family drama manchester by the d denzel washington. He won the tony award for the same role in broadway about sevn years ago. We all know hes a hollywood favorite. And finally, for best lead actress, its a show down, Natalie Portman as Jacqueline Kennedy in jackie facing off against emma stone. Im hoping for a tie, but barrig that isabel lupier in a film called el. Watch for the oscar to go to ema stone. She sings, she dances, she dazzles and she won the Screen Actors Guild award which is normally the best indicator. Thats all for tonight. Wait a minute, you said you were hoping for a tie. That is right. Has there ever been a tie . You know, there has. You have to go back to the 1968 best actress race. Ingrigd bergman said the winner is catherine helpburn and barbaa vicend. Hepburn wasnt there. Hope well have one of those on monday night. Maybe its time for a tie again. Absolutely. On sunday night, by the way. Sunday night, exactly. Thank you so much. Thanks, jenna. In the next hour of happening now, the president has made no secret he is not a fan of nucler weapons but he says america nees better nucleus weapons. So what kind of message does tht send to our enemy general jack keen weighing in on that and how deporting Illegal Immigrants could help fight an even more dangerous problem. Terrorism. Deep dive coming up. Been such a fun hour, i say we do it again. Outnumbered starts next. We begin with a fox news alert. The president is expected to sign a new executive order this hour, beginning the process of rolling back government regulations. The president campaigned on that promise. Saying a less regulated economy would grow faster and create more jobs. We are keeping tabs on this vent, well bring it to you live when it happens. And in a fox news alert, the president doubling down on his attacks of what he calls the fake news media. Durringa speech at cpac wrapping up just a short time ago. This is outnumbered.
