Hello, welcome to fox news night, i am Shannon Bream in washington. China is warning that imposing high tariffs on steel and aluminum would have a huge impact on Global Trading order. And to beijing says it will Work Together with the many other nations publicly outraged by his doubling down and protecting American Workers against unfair foreign competition. Tonight there is an Unlikely Coalition forming against the president on trade. From chinese communists to freetrade republicans and democrats as well as Global Business interest. Chief National Correspondent ed henry is joining us now. That is a lot to sort out, shannon, this has rattled so many leaders around the world. Threatening to retaliate with tasks and aim at blue jeans and motorcycles. True to form the president does not seem to care. You made this found the campaign and he prides himself to actually follow up on what he promise. A lot of hammering about damaging the markets, wall street calmed down today. And the president made very clear that he is not backing down. Trade wars are good and easy to win. We must protect our country and our workers, the Steel Industry is in bad shape. If we do not have steel, we do not have a country. Ben sasse fire fired back to, trade wars are never won. They are lost by both sides. Kooky 18th century protectionism will jack up prices on American Families and prompt retaliation from other countries. The president goes through with this, it will kill american jobs. Thats what every trade war ultimately does. So much losing, the senator says. The president got a thumbs up from another republican, brexit cohen running a special election march 13th, for a house seat in pennsylvania. And said when other countries are not playing by the rules the president is right by standing strong i am all for protecting western pennsylvaniad Steel Industry is very big here. Some of the competitors have fueled the field a little bit, President Trump is just trying to level it back out. This is a president who has been talking about this not just since the campaign but for decades. And this is something that should not come as a surprise to anybody. As the president committed to looking out and protecting the american worker. Thats exactly what he is going to do. Speak about the number two republican in the senate is not buying that. Saying g. O. P. Leaders are going to hold hearings as a check on the republican president which is pretty awkward. Concerned about unintended consequences, some countries bristling tariffs on aluminum and steel so that they will retaliate against the agriculture sector. Then there is this, the Beer Institute is claiming it will cost them millions of dollars because of the tariff on aluminum impacting the price of a beer can. Which will get passed on to the consumer. When you take on beer drinkers, shannon, thats when you have gone too far. Shannon especially in america. Do you do not want to mess around. Especially in a Midterm Election year. Shannon and on a friday night. The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee making serious allegations tonight paid to the fbi may have ignored its own rules and may have broken the law. Chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge is here with the latest. Catherine. Shannon, in this letter to jeff sessions, the House Intelligence Committee chairman devin nunes says the surveillance warrants for the Trump Campaign carter page is a clear violation of fbi rules for submitting evidence to the fisa corporate may violate criminal statute. Saying that the fbis internal rules and procedures known as the dye on, standing domestic investigation guide, instituted by Robert Mueller who is the Russia Special counsel. The congressional letter reads in part to the accuracy of information contained within phis application is of utmost importance, only cocky documented information supporting fbi applications to the fisa court. How the unverified trump dossier compiled by Christopher Steele meets that standard for the original application in october 2016 and at least three subsequent renewals. The Justice Department has until march 8th, 2 to explain why the rules have changed. The chairman went further and told the attorney general that the use of false or unverified information to secure a surveillance warrant could be a violation of multiple criminal statutes. Including conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and contempt of court. The ranking democrat said that there was no surveillance abuse during the 2016 election and that the fbi Justice Department had acted in good faith. Shannon Catherine Herridge, thank you very much. Our next guest serves on the house intelligence community. We will ask him about the later shot at the fbi and Chris Stewart says that former White House Communications director did not get a fair shake when she testified this week. Great to have you with us live tonight. Great to be with you. Shannon lets start with the letter that conger must congressman devin nunes said. Did the fbi break its own internal rule and criminal statute . What do you make of the letter that is getting plenty of pushback from the left. It is appropriate, look at, if you do not have verified documented information before the fisa court, then you have more to process. You have lost the rule of law, if you are a fisa court judge, do you want to be wondering whether the evidence is actually accurate . Do you want to wonder if it is just in some cases political garbage like this dossier. Or do you want them to presume that the fbi has vetted the information and documented it and verified it . That they know that it is accurate . Of course that is what the fisa court judges expect, and that just did not happen in this case come again to cannot just shrug that often say, well, we will do better next time. Or this is an exception. We have to know that that is not taking place. Shannon you know that the democrats say all of the allegations are baseless and none of that happen. Any response to chairman devin nunes letter, we have adam schiff saying this, chairman nunez continued his effort to attack the honorable men and women at the Fbi Department of justice. The memo being discredited, the new attempt to roil the department is little more than another transparent effort to defend President Trump by trying to discredit and distract from the special counsel and congressional investigation. Allow to unpack. I want to start with the first part. He is setting up chairman nunes against the men and women of the fbi. But that is not how republicans have raised this so far, is that a false linac false issue that you are going after the men and women of the bureau . Of course it is, there is so much of what you said that is nonsense, but since you chose it, lets start. Any agency or organization within the federal government above any oversight or above any reproach, of course not. I was a member of the United States military, we had enormous power. But with that power came an enormous responsibility. And we would ask the same thing of the fbi and the department of justice. And by the way, i have been contacted by more than a few fbi agents that have said, thank you for doing this. They recognize we are not attacking every member of the agency and not attacking every fbi agent. We are trying to hold a few people, who are their leadership accountable. They want us to do that. How in the world can you say that to this by asking for accountability from the leadership is a broad sweeping attack on the entire agency . It is absolute nonsense. Shannon i want to get to a couple of other things, one is this week congressman schiff saying that there is ample evidence of collusion. You have sat on the committee, what have you seen with evidence of collusion . Quite a lot of evidence of collusion between Hillary Clinton and the russians, but to look, i would say to my friend mr. Schiff, we have been looking on this 15 months, if you have evidence of collusion, will you please share it with us . Because none of the rest of us have seen it. Neither has the american people. If you have evidence of collusion, please tell us what it is. But he has done this again and again. He has come out and made these accusations. And says, wait, i cannot share it with you. It is classified. You have to remember that you are making serious accusations against in this case, innocent people. You are accusing them of treason, essentially. And this has real impacts on their lives. If you continue to make that accusation, even Diane Feinstein has said that there is not evidence. If mr. Schiff has evidence, share it with us. And if you dont have evidence, then dont continue to make the accusations. Shannon hope hicks this week testified behind closed doors, came out afterwards that she has been telling white lies occasionally for the president. But you said that you think that she was being walked into a trap during the questioning, what can you tell us . There is no question that that is true. We can see that happening as soon as the questioning began. She was there for nearly nine hours. She was trying to answer these questions. But they asked her very broadly, have you in any way fashion or form against any matter or any subject ever told anything that would be deceitful or deceptive . While no one can answer that question perfectly. Of course we have all had instances like that where somebody asks you if you look good in the new suit, and you have to be honest were not honest. So we said, we want to know regarding this investigation, regarding any accused accusation of collusion or conspiracy of trajan or the hacking of the dnc, any of those, have you ever been told not to be truthful or dishonest, and she said adamantly, very clearly, no, i have not. But some of my other interactions, the example that she used that may be mr. Trump has been busy and something wanted to see him and i would tell him that he was not available or was not there, that its a normal course of just human interaction. Sometimes we are not perfectly honest. And as soon as she said that somebody goes out and talks to the press and says, yes, she was talking like she was told to be deceitful by the president. It simply was not in honest betrayal of that conversation at all. Shannon we all, americans in general are ready for this to wrap up with some answers, the secretaries of state Condoleezza Rice said yesterday, but we know that there are many things to do before this is resolved. Thank you for stopping in with us tonight. We wait the findings of the committee. Its good to be with you, thank you. Shannon one highranking diplomat says the killing of civilians in a damascus, syria, suburb may constitute crimes against humanity. President trump is talking with u. S. Allies about what can be done. Foreign Affairs Correspondent is following the story from london tonight. The u. N. Human rights chief says this amounts to war crime. The Syrian Government bombardment just outside the capital of dust mask has to guess damascus has led to 600 guests. Many children. No more words at words at a kid to a described a brutality of the regime attacks on its own population. The horror of the situation has surpassed even the possibility of the english language to describe. A shaky ceasefire has been holding. Confident efforts to evacuate people needing Urgent Medical care. Each side blames the other for violating truth. As we know, the civil war is not just syrian on syrian, but turning into a global proxy war. Iran, russia, the u. S. , turkey. Turkey concerned about the strength in the region is hitting kurdish fighters in syria, some who are backed by the u. S. , turkish air strikes lead to a number of deaths of both turkish and kurdish fighters. Many war crimes with the recents expected chemical attack and gouda, the syrians say that the rebels are to blame and that they surrendered such weapons long ago. The u. S. Is not buying that. Syria has no credibility on the issue. None whatsoever. But it will say that syria says it fulfilled all of its obligations under the chemical weapons convention. That is absurd. And a u. N. Report says that north korea has been illicitly shipping materials to syria that could be used to make climate to enact chemical weapons. President trump and Angela Merkel spoke about the deteriorating situation in syria, speaking of the urgency to be and expressing their concerns about Vladimir Putins latest remarks on Arms Development and their negative impacts upon International Arms control efforts. Shannon amy kellogg, thank you very much. President trump extending the designation of a National Emergency over human rights abuses and venezuela. President obama issued the original executive order in 2015. President trump added to it last year. He says that the situation continues to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the National Security and Foreign Policy of the u. S. It was either the best of days or four straight really bad days depending on what market you are talking about. The dow following the pack falling for the fourth straight day. But an initial jobless claim coming in at the lowest level in 49 did years. Since december 6, 1969. Economist say that the job market is actually growing. The east coast getting socked by a powerful northeastern high winds, rain, flooding, and snow. It depending on where you are, thousands of flights and train routes have been canceled. Power outages, down trees here in the nations capital, snow, but federal workers stayed to get a winded day, they were told to stay home because government offices were closed amid 60 and 70mileanhour wind gusts. Hundreds are without power. When president obama says that he was a scandal free, they took it and knock on the current administration, is it even true . The panel investigates and debates next. And a student either for written violence or made a joke in poor taste. But a judge took it seriously and came up with a novel solution. Trace gallagher explains that next. And he may have heard about the lawsuit against pennsylvania over thousands of noncitizens registered to vote. We are looking into the evidence. This stupid bill that ive ever seen. Now some of you may have loved it. If you do, you are one of the stupidest dumb ass people i have ever met. Shannon talking about his feelings on obamacare. The retiring senator backtracking saying this on twitter yesterday i made a poorly may joke about obamacare supporters and not reflective of my actual feelings towards my friends on the other side of the aisle, while i occasionally slip up i believe my legislative record reflects my commitment to bipartisan ship much more than my flip and offthecuff comment. The daily caller editorial director and the White House Correspondent for the Washington Examiner paid welcome to you both. What do you make of it . And then not retracting the whole thing, but a little backtracking. Yes, it is amazing to watch. There are some things that are far, you cannot say that. But i do not disagree that obamacare is stupid. In terms of just what makes America Great is we are a people at liberty. And we basically have chosen the government because we all agree on the details. But we want the liberty. Obamacare takes us away from us. It forced americans to buy a product that we have never been forced to pay for. And a lower quality one. It was an invasion of privacy for the United States and the average americans liberty. For that reason it was stupid. In that way i agree. Shannon this is pretty salty language from him, he is pretty reserved. He is a gentleman, he is a mormon, he talks about being in a disciplined life. The worst thing ive heard before was crap and that was even whoa. This was pretty salty. Exactly, retiring orin hatch, i think that he shouldve learned a little bit from Hillary Clinton who learned the hard way in 2016 that going after the supporters of a policy or a politician is never a good idea. You should always attack the policy or the politician, people who support things obviously do not deserve those personal attacks. If so i think that orrin hatch probably is learning thats a lesson now that maybe he should have attacked the merit of obamacare like vince. Shannon topic two, president obama talked about what happened and what did not happen, heres what he said under something that happened the other night that was supposed to be under lock and key but some audio got out. The one thing i am proud of in my administration was the fact that and i think these things are connected, we did not have a scandal that embarrassed us. Shannon when this came out i have gotten several tweets, articles, people sending me gigantic lists of things they do consider scandals and then they ask whether they simply were not embarrassing to the administration. There is a lot of mythology around president obama due to the press being sort of incredulous about him that he has no drama, obama. It was constant drama obama. From the moment he got into apollo politics it was fast and furious, and the targeting scandal. It was his mom dreams. Shannon you saying mom jeans is a scandal . And unappreciated scandal, but it is a scandal. And it kind of conditioned us to have scandals and deal with them in presidencies. And thats why i think in the trump presidency, people get upset about everything but how come you do not think this is a scandal . Look, obama ran it over the powers of the executive where we have got to the point where he actually was creating laws related to immigration for President Trump give some advice to his son and that is a constitutional crisis. There is a range of things here. Shannon one more thing i want to get to. This is about conversations, the president wants to be really tough on drug dealers, reporting and saying that according to five sources who have spoken to trump about the subject he leaps into a passionate speech about how drug dealers are as bad as serial killers and should all get the the death penalty. People freaked out about this, but average americans are saying, maybe i would think and not say it. But they do not seem opposed to somebody who sells fat and all to dozens of people and they all die. Thats because of the parallels of the philippines, people have been a little bit worried about all of this because shannon going out into the streets and shooting drug dealers. I dont think thats drugs have underpinned illegal immigration, building the wall, increasing the police, these are all cracking down on drugs and crime, that has underpinned a lot of policy that President Trump has put forward. Its not surprising to use that language even though maybe he could choose it more carefully to avoid stirring up the drama. Shannon not everybody seems especially opinionated, but most of them do. Seven times as many in park lane in a single day from the opioid crisis. Shannon it is a real problem. We will see if they work. Thank you to see you on friday night. Stick around for the dance party. Some say violent video games have nothing to do with actual acts of violence and a judge who made a stunning ruling, just ahead of a white house conference of video game creators. Trace gallagher has at next. An american pastor is laid to an american pastor is laid to rest, the billy graham uplifting i am totally blind. And non24 can throw my days and nights out of sync, keeping me from the things i love to do. Talk to your doctor, and call 8442142424. When i was too busy with the kids to get a repair estimate. And im the founder of ugmonk. Before shipstation it was crazy. Its so much easier so now, were ready, bring on t. Shipstation. The number one ch of online sellers. Go to shipstation. Com tv and get two months free. Shannon in the two weeks plus since the parkland shooting massacre the National Debate around guncontrol and Mental Health reform. Now the issue of violent video games as a potential root cause for gun violence is on the president s agenda. The case of a judge ordering a Illinois Team to stay away from video games is sparking controversy. Trace gallagher has a report. Shannon, the 16yearold boy from Just Outside Chicago was annoyed last week when the school was temporarily shut down after someone made a threat. The boy then posted the clip on snapchat saying yall need to shut up about School Shootings or i will do one. This 16yearolds attorney said that there was a joke in poor taste. The judge failed to see the humor and ordered the teen confined to his home for two weeks with no phone, no social media and no violent video game video games. The judge also chastise the boys parents for not monitoring his social media and for allowing him to play those games in the first place. The judges decision barring the student from violent games amid a growing debate whether the games actually contribute to bad behavior according to Kentucky Governor the answer is yes. Governor bevin says that he is all for free speech about a there is zero redemptive value, zero upside to any of this being in the public domain, let alone in the minds and hands and homes of our young people. The governor says that the Mass Shootings are a cultural problem not a firearm problem. And during the meeting this week with lawmakers, President Trump echoed the call for a closer look at violent videos. You have to also look at videos, they are vicious. You look at some of these videos. I dont know what this does to a young kids mind. Somebody growing up and forming and looking at videos where people are just being blown away left and right. The press secretary Sarah Sanders says that the president plans to meet with leaders in the video game industry, but apparently nobody told the Game Companies. In fact, the verge is now reporting that it could not find a single game maker that had been contacted. Still the Entertainment Software association which represents Game Companies issued a defense quoting the same video games played in the u. S. Are played worldwide. However the level of gun violence is exponentially higher in the u. S. Than in other countries. In 2011, the Supreme Court rejected the claim that violent video games promote reallife violence. Shannon. Shannon traits, thank you very much. Some real news, real news, never fake. Former arkansas governor stepping down from the board of directors just one day after his appointment. Political backlash over his support for the National Rifle association and traditional marriage leading some Country Music Board Members to accuse the governor of sexism, bigotry, homophobia, and racism. Cops taking a massachusetts man into custody for sending letters with white powder to five people including one to donald trump junior that landed his wife vanessa in the hospital. The New York Post reports that his facebook pages filled with political rants and a picture of him at the state Democratic National convention in 2016. A new study ranks california dead last of all states in quality of life. Rings on everything from education and opportunity and infrastructure and crime. California scored low because of high housing costs and something called social engagement. Basically a measure of how folks interact. Apparently californians do not get along with their neighbors. The Los Angeles Times in a long oped with the startling question, how can a place with 58,000 Homeless People continue to function . German chancellor Angela Merkel making a major concession by admitting to the existence of nogo zones in germany. Calling for a zerotolerance for crime, she specified she was talking about nogo zones often zones often inhabited by middle eastern migrants. The comments left socialist german lawmakers speechless. The reverend billy graham was laid to rest in charlotte, north carolina, today. In his funeral was a celebration of his life and mission. His daughter talked about what a loving father he was, especially as she headed home after her second devastating divorce. Questions rolled in my mind. What was i going to say to daddy. What was i going to say to mother . Was i going to say to my children . I had been such a failure. What were they going to say to me . We are tired of fooling with you . We told you not to do it, you have embarrassed us. And let me tell you, you understand that you do not want to embarrass your father and you really do not want to embarrass billy graham. [laughter] and many of you know that we live on the side of the mountai mountain. As i wound myself up the mountain, i rounded the last bend in my fathers driveway and he was standing there waiting for me. As i got out of the car, he wrapped his arms around me and said welcome home. There was no shame, no blame, no condemnation, just unconditional love. And you know, my father was not god, but he showed me what god was like that day. Shannon her brother echoed outcome of the billy graham that the world saw on television and in the big stadiums was the same billy graham that his family sought home. We hear all the time about socalled myths including voter fraud, but a loss against pennsylvania sees startling claims, we will examine the evidence next. Shannon redistricting is not the only issue in pennsylvania. The commonwealth now at the center of an exposing lawsuit with some stunning allegations. Jay Christian Adam says he has hundreds of pages of evidence to support his claim that noncitizens were allowed to register to vote in pennsylvania. For example, in a letter from the allocating elections division, a noncitizen was told that as a Voter Registration had been canceled because he is not a u. S. Citizen. Another from the county allegedly voted twice in 2008 and once in 2012. The registration was canceled in 2014, but possibly reregistered in 2015. And to this noncitizen allegedly has an extensive voting history dating back to 2008. Supporting three different voter ids and is still actively registered to vote. Shannon joining me now in washington is former attorney for the department of justice and jay Christian Adams. Welcome. This is really interesting, you say that based on publicly available information in pennsylvania there are 100,000 people who are not citizens who are registered to vote. They are noncitizens registered to vote. It could be up to 100,000. We know that it is happening. That is not a myth. It is reality. The question is how bad is it . And pennsylvania is hiding the ball. We have asked them for records like the ones you have just shown from pittsburgh, and the data and they are not letting us have it. We have taken them to a federal court. Shannon this is what the Pennsylvania State says, i guess it is interesting because they are common law, they say this statement, the figure is not confirmed by any substantive analysis by the department, not a credible figure and not any reason to believe that it is accurate. The elected official from philadelphia should retract, but if they say that, then they must know what the real answer is pretty so tell us we have been asking for months to see the data. We have a right under federal law to go in and see the record. They have hired a party to fix the mess, stonewalling legislators, there is a problem in pennsylvania with alien voting and they are hiding the extent of it. Shannon you have a right by federal law to take a look. They are not cooperating on that. So i know that that will be a little bit of processing, youve been doing this for months. And i want to talk about what has been happening, this is in other states as well, but in maryland and interesting letter talking about electric probing and making sure that russia will not mess with the voting system, nobody should want them to mess with any of the voting systems. But they also will not take voter ids and make that an issue. I was reading that one of the counties just outside of d. C. , montgomery counting, more registered to vote then people over 18 in that county. That is happening all over the country. We are litigating cases in stark county texas, broward county, florida. Other places 150 counties have more people on the voter rolls and what they have citizens alive or eligible to vote. It is a nationwide problem. Shannon here is what they say, examination after examination of voter fraud claims revealed that fraud is very rare, voter impersonation nearly nonexistent, they turn to be baseless, numerous studies have shown that. That is a funded organization who set up to deny voter fraud all over the country. They never say it exists. Their job is to put up a smoke screen about the truth. The reality is that the voter fraud is real, you showed instances just now of people who are noncitizens voting in the 2008 president ial election, 2012, and then three days before President Trump was sworn in, they write a letter saying, please remove me from the rolls, they shouldve been afraid what he was going to do. Theyve been doing it all over the country. Shannon why is there such a denial of it . We have seen books and studies and things written that the numbers are not true. The president has a particular number, we do not know what the truth is, that is a problem. Pennsylvania is hiding it. So why is this happening . Why does it matter . The real foreign influences dealing the votings in the election, maryland is trying to fix the machines, the real problem is they allowed people on the roles who are not legal. Shannon we know that there are states, i have talked to Governor Abbott in texas, when he was the attorney general, he said that they had cases on a more frequent basis that he had prosecuted people. People have gone to jail over this. In stark county, texas, that human trafficking, this is a county along the rio grande, where people, phony people are giving Voter Registration spread what does that do . It gives them a path to border patrol, as good as a passport, means that you are a citizen. The registrations are still on the roles, this is not an isolated problem to pennsylvania or texas. It is going on in virginia and new jersey and sometimes the immigrants are the victims. They are going through the voter process, they dont want to register, but it is getting pushed on them and then it messes up the immigration status. Shannon what do you make of the situation in illinois and chicago where they are giving out cd key cards which allow them listen, we have people here illegally, but we want to know who they are, have some kid of i. D. So that they can take part in municipal and Community Things . As i understand it, that card is acceptable to use as a voter i. D. Or an i. D. To get you into voting. So how in the world do they police that to say that we will give it to people who are here illegally, but basically the comments that i heard from them was that they said it is against lowball to vote illegally so we expect them not to use it for that. The honor system is failing. To get registered to vote america coming you check a box. There is no backup. There is some system that they are checking, there is no system. Thats why so many aliens are on the roles, because they are not telling the truth we have cases where they say, im not a citizen and they still get registered to vote. We have the document spread shannon it makes me think of the arizona case that ended up at that Supreme Court a couple of years ago about these documents. And basically many states were told that this is not your job, it is a federal government, you stay out of it. Keep us uptodate on the pennsylvania lawsuit. And as you get information if they turn it over. Shannon great to have you. Google accused again of racial discrimination. He might not find all of the details in the google search, but you will find them right he Shannon Welcome back to fox news night from washington, a chicago area sheriff and other officials being sued by 17 laidoff county jail bosses. They say that theyre lost who lost their jobs because they wanted to unionize. And appointees who supervised acupuncture treatment, Cable Television and talents for inmates while eliminating Public Safety rules. The board rep denies that those exist saying we are not crazy. Recent budget cuts are behind the layoff earlier this week, a huge brawl broke out at the very jail, two people were hospitalized. Time now for night court, google under fire for race discrimination and retaliation. Wahlberg claims that he was fired from his job as a recruiter after he complained about the companys hiring practices. He says that he felt that they unfairly discriminated against whites and asian men. He said that the tech giant said code is for hiring minorities and deleted emails and records of the diversity requirements. Emily compound neil, a former federal low back federal attorney and the national law of joining, great to see you tonight. I will read a little bit of the complaint, he says that the past several years google has had and implement a clear and irrefutable policy immortalized in writing and consistently implemented in practice systemically discriminating in favor of job applications who were hispanic, africanamerican, or female and against caucasian and asian men. He went on to say that the policy, the purpose was to get to diversity and manage the Public Relations problems they were having with about underrepresentation of women and minorities in the workforce. So with that in mind, how do you defend google . Listen, google is going to make the following case, they are going to say, we only hire qualified candidates and within the pool of qualified candidates, we like to look like the population, which is diverse. There is nothing illegal about doing that as long as they are not discriminating in a way that is against the law. We have seen the plaintiff side of the case and they make good arguments in their complaint, but we have not seen google side so the facts are going to matter. The only thing that i would say is that you mention quotas, it is not with goals that they had or quotas they had, goals, if they are flexible, that can be legal. Shannon the plaintiff says that there were all kinds of instructions, you can only hire minorities or women for this next round, things like that. He is attached some exhibits to the complaint to that he says show that but he also says that they were told routinely to purge any communications that refer to these things apps if they were trying to hide the trail. Google said this we have a clear policy to hire candidates based on their merits, not their identity, the same time we unapologetically try to find a diverse pool of candidates from open roles as helps us hire the best people in improve our culture and build better product. Kent is absolutely right that it depends if the facts are true, what is notable in almost the 30 page complaint there is an incredible volume of specified citation to actual documentation. So the emails, meeting notes, direct messages with bosses and the actual policy meaning that this is all part all provable. So unlike the discrimination against white males, that was an over broad complaint. Here it is not just allegations, they are actual specific details that the point to sites that are provable. Google came out today and said that we hire on the merits and we are committed to a diverse hiring, but the question is whether they go too far. And if they are purging nondiverse applicants from the hiring pool that to this plaintiff has alleged, that is against california law. And that overcorrection is something we are seeing throughout the country. We saw with harvard, asianamericans are alleged that harvard was unfairly discriminating against federal law by not accepting them admission. To that lead to a doj investigation. So this tech case could actually be quite seminal. Shannon he says that there are many people that he tried to report this to to say, this is not a good policy. You are giving us quotas and not accepting resumes from white men or asian men because you only won us the entire certain kinds of people. Everywhere he went to that he was blown off essentially and it ended up with him being fired because he would not stop complaining. Google retaliating and saying that it has some merit. They may be facing that, but certainly if you look at the plaintiffs side of the case, there are allegations made that would be if the facts go out, i think that that is an issue potentially for google, but i also think it has been said in court and emily mention whats happened at the college admission, they have said that you can legally consider race to try to promote diversity in college admissions, and similarly here, google if they are going to have a Diverse Workforce they are going to hire some qualified applicants who are white, others who are asian, and others who are other races and come from other places. There is nothing illegal on its face to bow to. And i would say that google is facing claims from them alleging discrimination from women alleging discrimination and white people, from them my own minorities, it cannot all be true is basically where i would come out. Shannon you cannot have a quota system when it comes to the system, you can list race with a factor of other factors. Could it help them . Remember that this is in california law, but that actually what is interesting here, and what kant was speaking about was that googles workforce has hovered around 91 white and asian males for the last three plus years so regardless of that policy it has not actually changed who they have hired.
