Whats happening now with the new study that came out last week from the National Institute of health is that they are finding that all of the screen time its preliminary evidence is actually affecting the brain, the cortex area of the brain. There is a thinning effect they are not saying whether its good or bad. Can i tell from you my experience its not good. Ainsley what do we do. First of all teenagers frontal lobes arent fully developed yet. Think about that. What should we do . We as parents need to get involved. Technology is here to say. That, we know. We need to monitor it and be on top of it and cant be a free for all where you give your kid a phone or tablet and say okay, go. Have fun with this. We need to really be engaged in having conversations with these kids. This the amount of time you are going to be allowed to on it . You hit the nail on the head. We want to believe that our kids can have control over it i can tell you one of the experts in this field our kids cannot control. Ainsley were the parents. We are the parents and we need to be in control for them. We need to lead by example. If im having additional with the kids, i cant be on the phone. I need to put it away and the kids need to put it away. We as adults too need to be conscious of this. When you are a mom and im with my daughter all day long, it is easier if you put the phone in front of her for an hour you can have peace and quiet.
