joining us is fox news contributor and former homicide detective rod whao*el in our d.c. -- rod wheeler in our d.c. bureau. good morning. what this app did is it showed people who download it and put it on their smart phone how to grow weed. what's your problem with that? >> it's not just showing people but it's also showing children and young teenagers because we all know these individuals are very influenceable at these ages. between the ages of 10 and 18 years old, that is the capture age. also that's the age more people download applications from websites such as the apple store. that's the problem that i have with this application. and not only does it show you how to cultivate and grow weed, it also, this application shows you how to sell weed. you know, does our kids really need to know or learn that type of behavior? >> sure, it's a good point. but it's a slippery slope too because this particular application got yanked by apple after it shot up to number one. there are still other weed games on-line that you can buy and stuff like that. but at the same time, you look at grand theft auto, games like that. you've got people not only stealing cars but killing people. you've got hookers, every imaginable bad thing. that's legal. where do you draw the line? >> here's the problem with that. these are learned behaviors. it's one thing to actually see this kind of stuff on television or even through the internet. but whenever there's an application, steve, and i think this is where you draw the line. whenever there is an application that literally teaches people how to commit these crimes and teaches people how to become a hustler, such as this one weed game, i think that is where we have to draw the line. i think it is important to note that with the apple store as well as the google store, they have age restrictions that pop up, know, when you try to download certain apps. but the grim reality is there is nobody policing that, so if you have a 10-year-old or a 12-year-old and they want to download this app, that age restriction goes out the window. >> a lot of 10-year olds may have done it. it's ultimately the parent's responsibility because they've got the password to spend the money to buy the app. >> right. i think that's the bottom line. you hit the nail on the head when you said parents. parents must take responsibility at the end of the day. >> here's what the apps' firm said. the creators of this game do not encourage the cultivation or use of cannibis. the plot of this game is solely a work of fiction and should be viewed only as such. but to your point, you know, you have a problem with the apps that teach you how to do stuff that's against the law. so the app on how to cook withpressure cooker bomb, that too? >> absolutely. because think about it. who really needs to know and who really needs to learn how to do those things? i know some of you are saying you can google it and go to different web pages. and you can. my issue with the app store is it puts these things in front of kids at an age when kids are very influenceable. they call it a game. the reality is it is not a game. right here in washington, d.c. and major cities we're seeing learned behavior of teenagers, kids and they're acting in ways where you have to say to yourself where did they learn that? >> it's great to be able to get it out there. as you said, we lost travis in 2007. as a father, your worst nightmare. but then to have lost brendan, his good friend and roommate at the naval academy in 2010, and then fast forward. we've got the navy seals that captured and killed osama bin laden and then the president talked about brendan and travis a couple weeks later, about their example of character, service and sacrifice. to be able to write this story and get it out to the broader country was important for me. >> the book obviously focuses on their friendship. how did they come to find one another at the naval academy? how did they become so close? tell us about them. >> they were very similar in a lot of ways. they were cut from the same cloth, so to speak. both college athletes, division 1 athletes. travis wrestled. brendan played on the lacrosse team at navy. they went to the national championship game. and they both came from close knit families. and family was important to them, and they just sort of gravitated towards one another. they were also both very hard workers and overachievers, guys that sort of led from the front. they became very close at the academy and stayed close afterwards. >> you uncovered some things that i can only imagine losing your only son in this way, but then to go back and to pick through the details, to have to learn about that fateful day in april 2007, tell us about what happened and how your son paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country. >> well, travis was part of a military transition team. he was embedded with the iraqis. they are on a patrol. they were sent to a home looking for a sniper and it turned out to be an ambush. and several of the marines were hit. they pulled them back to safety and then travis went out to lay it down fire and he was ultimately hit by a sniper. >> he went out to protect his fellow marines? >> he did. he moved out from around the cover to protect the guys. turns out he was the only one that didn't make it home that day. but he did what he needed to do, what he knew he had to do. >> brendan, of course, died in a helicopter crash in afghanistan. and then the families managed to bring them together to live eternally at arlington. how did that happen? >> you know, it's interesting because we never really got travis settled. my wife wanted him close to home. you're in shock when something like this happens, and we buried him near our home in pennsylvania. then it came to find out he told a lot of people if anything happened to him, he wanted to be in arlington. we never put a headstone up and deliberated whether we would move him to arlington. we thought about it. but my wife visited him every day. she didn't want to let him go. then when we lost brendan, brendan's wife amy said i want brendan to be with travis. and my wife finally was to a point where she said okay, this is right. let's do it. >> unbelievable. you'll be down there of course on memorial day at arlington. as you were describing to me, you can feel the spirits in the air. >> special place. >> we'll be thinking about you this memorial day. we'll be thinking about all the men and women we lost in this country paying the ultimate sacrifice. tom, great to see you this morning. i would encourage all of our viewers to pick up this incredible book "brothers forever." we'll link it up on our show page. tom, thank you so much. coming up next on the show, the most insane video you're going to see all day. a driver stuck on the tracks as a speeding train barrels right towards her. the dramatic ending is next. a terrifying scene unfolding at george clooney's home. why cops rushed to his house. we'll be right back. instead of hanging out on the couch, you could be hanging ten. what are you waiting for? joining us from the fox news medical a team, dr. mark siegle. good morning. this is i hope uncommon. is this out of the box here? what can we do to prevent this from happening again? >> with memorial day weekend coming up, we should remind parents that pools can be very unsafe. they're a lot of fun, but we have to be very careful. this is rare, to answer your question. 13 people have died overtip to 15-year period over this. why does this happen? everyone needs to know that water is a conductor. it's an electrical conductor. when you have a wet body, that conducts as well. people don't think of it that way. the metal railings, they conduct. electrical devices were not grounded. the heart is electrical. the heart conducts electrical energy. that's how our hearts beat. if you get an electrical force from outside the heart, it can stop your heart from beating, which is why i believe that every state should have a law that the automated external defibrillators, aed devices should be at every pool in this country. in new york state, it's state law. it should be every state. >> the three children that we saw there, they are actually okay after a few days? >> thank god, yes. >> you're saying there are things, have those defibrillator things by the pools because this could happen again. >> because your heart can stop beating. >> so do they wear something special? do they not touch the railing? >> first thing to do is check to make sure your pool is not old and corroding because there is insulation around the pool. there is rubber, glass. but that can corrode. i don't like electrical devices around pools. we're getting more and more of them. all of these pools have lights. the less, the better. wear rubber soled shoes around pools. that helps because leather can conduct. things used to clean pools s away be fiberglass. from pools. >> if this happens and you have someone who has been electrocuted, how do you help them? can you touch them? do you get to -- what do you do right away? >> by the way, it's an absolute medical miracle that this boy, the last one out of the pool, was in there for 15 seconds after being hit with electricity and saved. you want to see if the person has a pulse. number one. you want to see if they're breathing, or awake and alert. if their heart stops beating, start cpr right away and you want to put that defibrillator on the chest. the defibrillator will take over the rest of the work. even if you don't know how to use one, if you put it on the chest, it may save a life. >> call 911 as well. >> absolutely. >> thank you. this is so disturbing, but now we have some action tips. coming up, we sent our own captain hegseth to get answers about the v.a. mess. what did he get in return? >> that's right. if you're traveling, this might make you nervous. two united airlines planes packed with passengers within seconds of crashing into one another. this happened shortly after takeoff from houston's airport. air traffic control telling the pilot of a plane heading to vancouver, canada, to make a right turn instead of a left turn and that brought the jet within 400 feet of the other plane that was headed to mexico city. both flights had 150 people on board. we're just hearing about this now because the faa just now releasing this information. and then we've got incredible new video coming into "fox & friends." look at this. there was hail so big and so powerful that it shattered windows and also wind shields of these cars in pennsylvania. then look at this video coming out of hartley, delaware. there was a twister coming through tearing apart homes, leaving nothing behind but piles of wood. that crazy springtime weather. and then the death penalty making a lot of news lately after the botched lethal injection in missouri. but now the electric chair is returning to the state of tennessee. late last night, tennessee's governor signing a bill to allow the state to electrocute death row inmates if the prison there can't get lethal injection drugs they need. there is a boycott of those drug sales now, so it's increasingly difficult for prisons to get the drugs. then the state of utah and wyoming, lawmakers are trying to bring back the firing squad. both states are set to introduce bills related to that next year. and another example of the woosification of america. officials at an elementary school in michigan telling students, you will all be winners. at the annual field day, a letter sent home to north hill elementary school parents saying, quote, the need for athletic ability and the competitive urge to win will be kept to a minimum. the real reward will be the enjoyment and good feelings of participation. isn't that nice? parents hope that officials will change their mind about this. field day is june 6. no word if they'll sing kumbaya. >> no winners here. >> none. >> there will be wieners because we've got the barbecue. >> it's early. i didn't have my coffee. >> and this weekend for memorial day. >> and in washington, d.c., by the way. >> there are plenty of wieners down there as well. we got to tell you, you know there is a scandal at the v.a., right? so the house of representatives on wednesday night passed this three-page, 37-line v.a. accountability bill. so it's only 37 lines. you think the senate would take it up. nope. harry reid will sit right on his desk, along with a dozen others that the house has already passed. bernie sanders has said look, we've got to have hearings on this. listen. >> senator from florida knows we have not held a hearing on this legislation. some of us are old-fashioned enough to know that maybe folks in the senate might want to know what is in the bill before we voted on it. >> he said i'm old-fashioned. maybe i want to read the bill before we vote on it. remember the health care bill was this tall and none of them read it? so you can't read a three-page bill. senator marco rubio, because it's memorial day weekend, we're going to go back to our constituents and ask us what, have you done for our veterans? i'm going to have to say, we can't get this day. >> we're gog have a hearing! >> like many other things, dead upon arrival right now on the backs of our veterans yet again on the most important weekend to them, honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom here. they need more time to deal with the three pages, which would give the v.a. and this high ranking official there the ability to take someone out of their position if they've been doing a bad job, meaning not treating veterans who reportedly are dying in the system that's not treating them. this is absolutely appalling. >> and you are appalled, e-mail is flooding in after we talked about this. reverend james hug joins -- higgins said i'm appalled at your recent decision to hold up a bill in the senate regarding the firing of v.a. employees. i have suffered at the hands of these incompetent bureaucrats since april of 1965. if the truth has no effect upon you, then there is no hope for those of us who have no other choice for our care. >> maybe they should go to guantanamo bay because we've heard about the lush treatment that the inmates down there receive. they're getting cable television in the rooms. they get nice meals. they get nice libraries. >> they've got a ton of doctors. >> yeah. >> j.d. gordon, retired navy commander who served as pentagon spokesman a while ago, knows this, that they do have that great care 'cause he visited gitmo over 30 times and this is what he has to say. >> guantanamo bay there is 150 detainees there now and they've got a medical unit of about 100 doctors, nurses and health care support staff. 1.5 detainees to one is the ratio. if you look at the veterans in this country, there are 21 million veterans and of those 21 million veterans in the united states, 9 million are receiving v.a. care. but if you look at the v.a. employees, it's 267,000. that's a 35 to one ratio. i have think president obama has a flawed sense of priorities. he's taking better care of the prisoners in guantanamo bay than of our heros. >> meanwhile, as we switch gears, this is going to get you going as well, we don't have time to save the guys who have fought for us, but the night of the benghazi attack, you know what the white house was doing? they were contacting youtube about hey, there is a video out there, right? right? this was before they sent help, which they never did. senator paul rand was on with hannity last night. this doesn't smell right. >> one of the things that's interesting is that very night they were struggling to get reinforcements, we had more special operations forces forcen trip apply that couldn't find a plane for them. instead of calling for a plane or make arrangements for a plane, they're on the phone trying to create spin to say that you know what? this is about a video which never had anything to do with this attack. >> here is the thing about the video, it's been classified by the state department. there is no basis for them to classify an e-mail that they send to youtube. think about it. if you're sending out classified information to youtube, to somebody who is not authorized, cleared, they would never, ever do that. >> remember, google -- >> this is to cover their tracks. >> is anyone outraged, the fact that they're asking people to censor videos? the federal government, that the obama administration can just call up google and say, we don't like this youtube video put out, so you know what? we want you to censor it and pull it down. >> it was about spinning. they were already working on the excuse. that is the problem. >> creating the enemy out of the video instead of in the seven hours of attack where our own citizens and civilians were under attack. those that served our nation, including ambassador chris stevens with three other americans died there, but yet they're contacting youtube. okay. story that has all of you fired up this morning and one of the most talked about stories this morning, dallas mavericks owner mark cuban, you heard about his controversial remarks when he openly talked about prejudices. he was asked to talk about donald sterling, the owner of the clippers in l.a. and whether or not the nba owners would get together and vote that he be thrown out as the owner. he was asked this in an interview this week. take a listen to his response. >> we're all prejudices in one way or the other. if i see a black kid in a hoody and it's late at night, i'm walking to the other side of the street. if on that side of the street there is a guy that has tattoos all over his face, white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere, i'm walking back to the other side of the street. and the list goes on of stereotypes that we all live up to and are fearful of. >> after he said that, the twitterverse just absolutely through up. he did wind up apologized to trayvon martin's family for the hoody comment. rod wheeler was with us an hour ago talking about this crazy how to grow weed apps and you wanted to weigh in on this. what do you think about his comments? >> when mark cuban crosses the street because of the two examples that he gave, i'm going to probably be right behind him. and i'll tell you why, because what the guy is saying, first of all, he's being very honest and he's being very genuine. you know what? i'd rather as an african-american male myself, i'd rather talk to somebody such as mark cuban who is being very open and honest about his own personal prejudices and when he says we all have prejudices, he's absolutely right. so i'm trying to lessen exactly what the uproar is to what this guy said. i get the fact he used the analogy with the hoody and i understand that, but he apologized to the martin family and when he even used that analogy, i don't think he was necessarily thinking about trayvon. he was saying anybody in a hoody. you know what i mean? so i think we're kind of jumping at these things every opportunity we get. >> what do you think about the press reaction and some of the headlines? they leave out the part where he's talking about the skin head and only focusing on his comment about the kid with the hoody? what did you make of that? >> that's unfortunate. the reason that's unfortunate is because that's happened to me before, too. look, some of these news network, not fox, believe it or not, fox played the entire clip. a lot of these news network also only pick and choose certain things that individuals say just to get the uproar going and they won't play the entire context of what was stated. that's one reason, guys, why i have so much respect for dr. ben carson. because dr. carson talks about this country. he talks about things without a racial perspective. that's why i have respect for him. but a lot of people see that from a different perspective. >> right. it's a culture where you can't even be honest about how you feel or where we're going. the conversation has to be dead. >> right. >> you're exactly right. with prejudices, these are learned behaviors. so we have to work our way through these prejudices and i think that's what mark cuban was saying. but what donald sterling said, on the other hand, was completely different. that was racism. so i think we just all need to be more aware of what we say and try to work our way through it. as rodney king once said, can't we all just get along? at the very least? we sent fox news contributor and ceo of concerned veterans for america, pete hegseth, to get their side of the story. good morning. >> good morning. yeah. it was great to get out on the street. we were in baltimore at the baltimore v.a. facility, just asking them questions about the care they're getting. we heard a lot of the headlines and talked about the wait times. what are the veterans saying and experiencing? this is what they told us about the care they're getting at the baltimore v.a. >> it's been bad. just getting appointments and scheduled and the waiting time here. he's not getting the care he needs. >> he has no teeth, so he's literally starving to death. >> there have been times i waited two days. >> sometimes it isn't a lack of prime minister, it's that the personnel don't have a sense of urgency? >> absolutely. either you're a number or you're a diagnosis. >> how long have you been waiting? >> two years. >> do you feel like the president cares about this scandal at v.a.? >> negative. >> so the issue is not the care. the issue is the wait times and the barriers? >> yeah, exactly. >> i'm very disappointed. i'm very disappointed. starts at the top and i think he should be replaced. >> the buck stops at the president. it comes to the top. if the top doesn't put out the effort, nobody else is going to. >> i've got a nephew that left for boot camp four days ago. what's going to happen when he's 60 or 65 and he can't help himself? who is there for him? >> great questions. great answers. apparently the v.a. didn't want you to ask the questions because they tried to show you the door? n they tried to show us the door. they walked out. thankfully our cameramen moonlight there and said this is a public sidewalk. so we stayed and asked questions and these guys were candid, powerful stories. you can only play a little bit. we spent a couple hours there talking to people. time and time again, three months, four months, five months, six months. we're waiting. these are not guys that are victims. they don't see themselves as victims. they're proud, they're grateful. they just want the v.a. to work. >> sure. they come from the generation of accountability. >> that's right. >> responsibility. so to not see it when it has to do with their health has to be ultimately frustrating. what can be done? >> what can be done is you can pass three-page bill, like you said. that's a great place to start. hold people accountable. the president can stand up and say people will be fired and held accountable. i think that's what these veterans are looking for. we asked about the scandal. they put it in context of i'm waiting. everyone is waiting. someone should pay for that. >> eventually the scandal will blow over and people are going to start to forget. but ultimately we were just talking a home ago, what should probably happen is give them the opportunity to go to a local doctor. >> we opened up that question. a number said if i had the opportunity to go to someplace else, i would do that. so it's a pretty common sense thing. v.a. facilities provide great care in some places. if they don't, let's let them go someplace and not wait six months for it. >> captain pete hegseth, thanks so much. >> thank you. >> have a great memorial day. coming up here on the show, a jaw dropping sight, a baby falls two storyies. luckily these guys were there to save the day. what in the world happened? >> senator paul rand. >> that's all right. >> there is no senator paul rand. >> at least you got both names in there. i got an e-mail from somebody identifying themselves adds pelosi nancy. >> wanted to correct the record. don't let it happen again. if you're one of the millions of americans about to hit the road for memorial day weekend, there is a warning. doug luzader is on the road literally driving with the scoop. good morning, doug. >> reporter: good morning, clayton, elisabeth and doocy steve. we're on the road this morning and right now traffic is not too bad. so that's good news. obviously we have some commuters right now. but overall, triple a thinks there will be 36 million americans hitting the road at some point this weekend traveling 50 miles or more. they're going to be spending a lot of time in traffic. they're also going to be spending a lot of money. and that is good news for the white house looking for anything to boost the economy. president obama yesterday was in cooperstown to visit the baseball hall of fame talking about the importance of tourism. >> because tourism translates into jobs and it translates into economic growth. when visitors come here, they don't just check out the hall. they rent cars, they stay in hotels. they eat at restaurants. >> reporter: that's all true. the president's argument is that all of this travel is essence, kind of a form of economic stimulus. however, it's easy for him to talk about travel. he gets to go on air force one. it doesn't cost him anything. the rest of us are stuck in car seats like this or having to pay our own air fare. air fare is up, hotel prices are up over last year. gas prices, more or less stable. normally we'd say that's a good thing. but gas prices have not been below $3 a gallon since the end of 2010. of course, all of that takes money out of all of our pockets. and that's money you would be spending on something else. so that's really -- that really acts as a drag on the economy. that's something we're all going to be paying for, at least if we're hitting the road like so many millions are over the course of this weekend. >> 1200 days into gas with over $3 a gallon. doug luzader where we're kind of curious exactly who is taking the pictures 'cause it looks like the driver would be operating the camera from that point of view. >> doug thinks he's in europe. >> a selfy. >> i see, there you go. there is the camera guy. >> now, that's a selfy. >> thanks, doug. >> thank you very much. keep your hands on the wheel. >> it used to be 9 and 3. let's investigate. let's toss it over to heather nauert stand big with the headlines. >> good morning. i'm so glad you pointed that out. it was making me nervous watching that. >> it looked like the driver was running the camera. >> he was talking about gas prices and this next story is about oil and it's one that folks should listen to. there is a big development out of iraq this morning. the kurds in the northern part of that country telling baghdad shove it. the self-ruled region making its first international shipment of oil and that is going to infuriate baghdad. they have long disagreed with the kurds over who owns that oil in the north. so a big foreign policy issue potentially coming out of iraq. we'll follow this story for you. back here at home, your taxes pay their salaries. so why aren't government workers paying their taxes? there is a shocking new report that reveals more than 300,000 federal workers and retirees currently owe back taxes. this adds up to $3.3 billion. can you imagine that? $3.3 billion. you could add congress to that list, too. the irs says more than 700 house and senate employees are overdue on their taxes. what do you think of that? this question causes some controversy this morning. should teenage parents be allowed to be featured in this school yearbook? a high school in arizona says yes. they dedicated this, two pages of a yearbook to students who have their own children. >> they shouldn't be with this type of crowd. >> i felt it wasn't appropriate. >> despite somewhat of a backlash, the spokesperson for the district says no changes will be made to the yearbook. sixth grader in colorado gets a really nice graduation surprise. look at this. >> how you doing? equal opportunity. >> it is. meanwhile, another one of your suggestions: my idea is to take the veterans who have just recently completed their contracts or are about to be discharged from the military and hire them into the v.a. this would infuse the v.a. with skilled personnel to help with the backlogs, but also help with veterans coming out instead of them being unemployed, they would be put to work. >> one of america's hero, colonel ollie north, agrees. e-mail number five: where is the president's pen and phone when it comes to doing something good for the v.a.? >> no, you were not. it is big. it's fantastic and thanks to everybody who is out there on the plaza having a great time with some of our military men and women and veterans out there. having ribs, listening to good tunes and joining us this morning. >> geraldo rivera joins us in about two minutes to weigh in on the mark cuban so-called controversy and you want to hear what geraldo has to say about his hoody comment in just a minute. in the meantime, let's turn to heather nauert who has the update on the air. >> a lot of folks traveling this weekend for memorial day. two united airplanes packed with passengers within seconds of crashing into one another. it happened shortly after takeoff from houston's airport. air traffic control telling the pilot of the plane heading to vancouver, canada, to make a right turn instead of a left turn. that brought the jet within 400 feet of the other plane that was headed to mexico city. both planes had 150 people on board each. the faa just releasing this information now. incredible new video just coming in. hail that was so big and so powerful, it shattered windows and windshields of cars in parking lots in burks county, pennsylvania. the damage was so bad that these cars had to be towed away. crazy springtime weather there. the death penalty making news after that botched lethal injection that took place recently in missouri. now the electric chair is returning to the state of tennessee. late last night, tennessee's governor signing a bill to allow the state to electrocute death row inmates if those prisons can't get the lethal injection drugs that they need. there has been a european-led boycott of the drug sales now, so it's been tough for prisons to get their hands on those things. then listen to this, in wyoming and utah, lawmakers are trying to bring this back, the firing squad. both states set to introduce bills related to that next year. a fun story for you. remember when president obama threw out the first pitch at the major league all-star game in 2009? remember these jeans? everybody called them mom jeans. we wanted to know what happened to them. the president was at the baseball hall of fame in cooperstown, new york, and answered that question. listen to this. >> at the hall's request, i contributed something on my own, which was the jacket i wore when i threw out the first pitch at the 2009 all-star game. i hear that with all the media attention about it, there was also some interest in the jeans i wore that night. but michelle retired those jeans quite a while back. >> what do you think she did with them? did she donate them or burn them or did he like them too much? he didn't want to give them up. >> can you have a garage sale at the white house? >> he gave them back to michelle. >> wait a minute. geraldo is with us. geraldo is wearing mom jeans. >> i don't think they're good jeans. >> thanks, heather. good morning. >> commander in chief, we've heard he's madder than hell, although he didn't seem very mad the other day. now there is finally this three-page bill that the house passed. gave it to harry reid. he says look, we're going to have to chew on this for a little while. bernie sanders says we need hearings. it's pretty simple. it says if somebody does something wrong at the v.a., fire them. >> the last time i was here we spoke and i said we have to go easy with shinseki, he's a wounded war hero, four-star general. let's see the facts come out. then we have the review of the gao and all the various investigations. now we have people like senator blumenthal, the democrat of connecticut, getting on board. now you have the speaker of the house, john boehner, in the most articulate statement he made in his entire tenure saying we didn't just let the vets down, we let them die. i think at that it will be a miracle if general shinseki survives this weekend. i think that it is that urgent. >> you don't think it will be let's get through it and then i'll fire you? >> i think the metastasizing of the scandal. it's not being contained. it is spreading. therethere is an epidemic of scl in all the various v.a.s. and i think it will result in a change at the top. i want to say something about the president and his demeanor. he seems curiously disengaged. >> he's a bystander. >> it's almost as if he's taken the memorial day holiday off a couple of days ahead of time. i don't see any urgency in -- it kind of started with the ukraine and crimea and then from that point on, he just seems to be kind of mellow, taking -- >> he was at the baseball hall of fame. i get that, i like baseball. >> what if this was a republican president and this was happening on a republican president's watch right now and he was taking the memorial day off, would there be outrage in the main stream media? >> i don't know. it's very difficult to answer the question. i will say people tend to look at the memorial day weekend as a beginning of summer, as a barbecue. they forget what it's for. if i were president, i would seize this occasion. this is where you reenergize the nation's commitment to the people who serve in the armed services. this is where you really -- where harry reid should seize the bill, where there should be bipartisan kind of let's go into this together. these are the -- we were on the platform with winnow a and the -- wynona and the acts, they were up for fleet week. this is when you embrace them and show them the due deference that they have earned in service to the nation. i don't know what the president is up to, but he needs, if seems to me, a double espresso. >> you have had such a measured approach to this entire scandal and to your credit, i think what you just said right there may be the most impactfulis still time. i want to take your temp on what mark cuban said. he had this to say about race. >> we're all prejudiced in one way or the other. if i see a black kid in a hoody and it's late at night, i'm walking to the other side of the street. and if on that side of the street there is a guy that has tattoos all over his face, white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere, i'm walking back to the other side of the street. and the list goes on of stereotypes that we all live up to and are fearful of. >> he was talking about donald sterling and whether or not as an nba owner, they should get together and vote him out. he said we want to be slow to judge in those situations because we all have inherent biases. a lot in the media jumped on him and called him a racist and should apologize. what do you make of the statements? >> i think mark cuban stole his line from me during the trayvon martin murder case. if you'll recall, i got in a lot of hot water when i suggested that the hoody that the youngster was wearing that night killed him as much as george zimmerman because it fit the stereo time of every surveillance video, of every stickup of every 7-1 # we've seen timend time again in the local news programs. there are definite stereo types. we did he have israeli a -- definitely have a race reaction. it doesn't make us racist. it's not that mark cuban invented it or george zimmerman or geraldo rivera invented it. it is the reality. i'm doing on saturday night, we start the weekend. i'm going to do my o. j. simpson murders at 20 years special all this weekend on the fox news channel. the simpson case and the way people responded to it laid bare the race divisions in this country and the racial stereotypes in this country. it is a reality. we should grasp it and deal with it and i think cuban should be applauded for being frank about it. i think, however, this will start a discussion that where it ends, nobody knows because look at the nba. if i'm not mistaken, every owner in the nba is jewish. i mean, i may be wrong about that, but i think that is real. and 80% of the players are african-american. i think that this controversy is going to impact in a negative way the historic comedy, the historic coalition of jew and black. i think that it is a far reaching, deep reaching phenomenon that we will be witnessing not only in professional sports, but in society. we have to come to grips with it. cuban should be applauded for being frank and honest about it and we have to stop tiptoeing around the issue and confront it. race is still the most bitter domestic issue in the united states. it is as real today as it was 20 or 40 years ago. >> speaking of 20 years ago, you just touched on it. hard to believe, 20 years ago. >> 20 years. we all remember the actual anniversary is june 13 of the simpson murders. we remember how we all responded with the white broncos. one of the most famous men on earth. >> during an nba basketball game. >> amazing how it happened and unfolded. we interview everybody, we relive the story i covered in great detail. >> nobody did it better than you. >> thank you. >> we'll be watching this weekend. >> thanks. coming up, a terrifying scene unfolding at actor george clooney's home. why the cops were called in. you met him two years ago after a town hall where he pressed the president on the economy. he wanted to know where are all the jobs? come on. what's going on there? >> look, there are unions involved, things like that. i'm not saying that's right, but you're asking what's going on. that's part of what's going on here. and you're right. people would think that on memorial day weekend, of all time, that you do something. all it does is give administrators more authority and make it easier without jumping through hoops to get rid of people who aren't doing their job. i'll give you another idea. we talked last sunday to dr. sam foot who was the doctor in the phoenix v.a., he was the original whistle blower who talked about 40 people who died while on these long waiting lists. he said why not give a voucher to every veteran in the country who has been waiting months and unable to see a doctor so that they can go to any hospital, any private health care provider in the country and get immediate treatment? the other thing just means well, we can fire somebody if they've messed up. this would actually get immediate treatment for every veteran in america. what a great way to honor our veterans. >> absolutely. today on the pages of the "wall street journal," the op ed page, the final line is, why are politicians punishing veterans with inferior government health care? to your point, let's open it up. everybody gets a card, they go anywhere they want. but i want to ask you about the president. a couple days ago, we heard he was madder than hell. although he comes out and didn't seem that mad. his ultimate message was yeah, i'm going to wait for the investigation. we've already heard. the government has already investigated. we already know dozens of people died waiting for care. >> it's interesting because we knew we were going to do the v.a. story for this weekend and when we heard he was going to come out, i believe it was on wednesday and make this big statement, one of the thoughts -- because in the news business, you're always saying how this is going to affect your news story. maybe he'll announce some major change and it will completely change the story and as i listened to him speak, i realized a lot of rhetoric, but no action. you can argue well, he wants to wait for the studies to come out, as you point out. there have been seven either inspector general or gao studies, but he didn't take a single concrete step, whether it's to pass or endorse this legislation or whether it is let's give private vouchers who people who have been waiting months to get care, nothing to change the facts on the ground for veterans who are going to go through this weekend with one more weekend when they'll be waiting for care. people who desperately need it. >> we hear the president in the state of the union address demanding congress take action on certain bills. there is over a dozen v.a. reform bills now that have passed by the house sitting on harry reid's desk right now. >> remember the 2,000 pages for the affordable care act, which we passed before we read it versus the three pages, let's fix the v.a. situation, which the house has passed and harry reid says, you know what? we got to study this really hard and we got to have some hearings. >> need more time to get through the three pages. they certainly didn't waste any time pushing this forward. >> it's a very full three page, guys. >> 47 lines. >> my four i wouldn't he would read that -- four-year-old read that in an hour. who are you going to talk about this weekend?
