Petzel. He should have been forced out after the legionella in pittsburgh. Hes been felt to be the chief coverup artist at the v. A. For a long time. In terms of secretary shen seccy, this is a i go who certainly at some point in his career knew how to take names and kick butt when he needed to and hold people accountable and thats the guy we need in there. Peter doocy live in washington with the latest. Peter, what are the lawmakers saying this morning about the way v. A. Leadership is handling this growing scandal . Reporter we heard this morning several elected officials and others involved in Veterans Affairs point out that theres been talk about allegations in the v. A. For several months. Secretary Eric Shinseki did speak on capitol hill earlier this week, but the reviews we heard this morning, less than stellar, and thats only amplifying calls for shin sec toe step down and let someone else come in and clean up the mess that happened while he was at the helm. There was talk a year ago of should we ask for shinsekis resignation . A group of us were talking about it. I dont jump on the resignation bandwagon but this has gone from an incompetence to backlog to something criminal. Theres a new website vaoversig vaoversight. Com, and it allows v. A. Workers to anonymously leave tips about wrongdoing at v. A. Facilities and its organizers say its already been getting quite a few hits. Arthel. Peter, what kind of action is the white house taking to investigate what happened . This morning the president s chief of staff says that the white house has order additional staff to the Veterans Administration to try to figure out if officials were cooking the books at only a handful of hospitals or if it was nationwide and mcdonagh promised that the white house wont let up until they know exactly what happened. Nobody is more outraged about this problem than i am right now, major, than the president of the United States and he ale continue to press as it relates to this question of timely access to care until it is fixed. Thats why weve invested additional billions of dollars in the Veterans Health administration so they can have timely access to good care. Mcdonagh also said president barack obama is madder than hell about allegations of wrongdoing at the v. A. Shinseki this week said hes mad as hell but tough like that has not yet satisfied veterans and their advocates who want someone held accountable as soon as possible. Arthel. Peter doocy, thank you very much. Want to remind our viewers well dig deeper into the scandal rocking the department of Veterans Affairs a little later in the show with Major General bob scales. Eric. Mers is here. The first persontoperson spread of the middle east respiratory virus is now being reported here in our country. The centers for Disease Control says it was picked up as an infection earlier this month from a man who was the first u. S. Case. Hes a Health Worker who returned from saudi arabia. This latest case though is not leading to any medical treatment. The cdc says the risk to mers to all of us to the public is low. Coming up in 20 minutes from now, well have more on the mers virus when the doctors join us on sunday housecall. Ukraine holding a crucial president ial election in just one week, and tension between prorussian separatists and ukrainian nationalists showing no signs of calming. Hundreds gathering in the eastern city of donetsk pressing their claims for secession. Ukrainian officials are worried it may be impossible to hold president ial elections in the turbulent region. Now to the missing girls in nigeria snatched by the radical islamic terrorists. Nigeria and four neighboring countries declaring total wore on the kidnappers boko haram and meeting with western allies in paris this weekend to coordinate their efforts against that terrorist group. Nigeria also currently sits on the United Nations Security Council and is expected to request sanctions be imposed on the group. That could start next week. Boko haram has been holding nearly 300 of those christian schoolgirls captive since abducting them last month and claiming they converted them to islam. So, can the girls be saved . Joining us now is former u. S. Ambassador to the United Nations john bolton and Fox News Contributor and senior fellow at the American Enterprise institute. The issue could go to the Security Council this week. I mean, is that going to get these girls back . Well, i think the sad answer is no. I dont see any problem in imposing sanctions on boko haram, but its not like the groups leadership has a lot of money stashed away in Swiss Bank Accounts that can be seized. Im not sure if boko harams leadership has bank accounts, and the idea that the sanctions somehow would would deter this group i think is farfetched. I think the best news coming out of paris was that a number of the african countries in proximity to nigeria have agreed they got a problem that they need to Work Together on. I think its a problem frankly that extends all across north africa and something the United States needs to do a lot more work on to develop a counterterrorism strategy to protect ourselves really. How come we havent had that counterterrorism strategy, the nigerian president , he says they are operating like china . I think the evidence is increasingly clear they have ties to al qaeda. I think they qualify now as an al qaeda affiliate. Its still a mystery why the state department for several years declined to name boko haram as a terrorist Organization Despite it meeting the applicable statutory tests, and i think its just part of a problem weve seen across the middle east and north africa, with terrorist activities stepping up, razz call islamists operating freely. I think increasing the dangers, not just in north africa, lets not forget but increasing the possibility of using these unstable areas as basis to attack western europe or the United States. Yeah, they bombed the u. N. Headquarters and killed christians on christmas day, and theres been a lot of criticism at the state department and Hillary Clinton for not having designated them as a terrorist group while others say nigeria was against that. How do you view it . Well, it wouldnt surprise me if nigeria was against it, and ill tell you from my experience at the state department that probably meant state africa bu faithfully following what the countries they are supposed to be representing us to want asked for the same thing. And thats i think what people need to look into is how the state department managed to avoid the recommendations and cia and fbi and Justice Department clearly indicating that it was a terrorist group that should be designated. I really think that this is part of a broader pattern, a failure of the Obama Administration to take the growing terrorist threat around the world seriously. Youre taking about the failure of the Obama Administration. Let me read you a pretty blunt and harsh review in todays new york times. Quote, its called grading obamas Foreign Policy. Except for the killing of Osama Bin Laden and except that it has to be qualified by islamist terrorisms resurgence, if obamas presidency ended today i have no idea what major Foreign Policy achievements his defenders could recently cite. Theres time for it to be otherwise but events do not inspire much confidence. Ambassador, reaction to that pretty strong condemnation . Well, i think obamas greatest accomplishment has been weakening around the world, lessening the respect of our friends and the fear of our opponents, and the killing of Osama Bin Laden, lets be clear, was ten years in the making. All obama did was get out of way of it. I fear that with almost three years left in the administration that the pace and scope of challenges to the United States is going to increase, so its a grim prospect looking forward. Well, we certainly hope that they can somehow bring those girls back. Ambassador john bolton, thank you, as always, for joining us. Thank you, eric. Arthel. Eric, the commencement at Rutgers University is getting under way after a lot of controversy. Heres the bouncing ball. Former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice backed out of speaking at the ceremony after an outcry from some students and faculty. Former rutgers defensive tackle eric la grand was asked to fill the void, but the school rescinded the offer only to give a smaller speaking engagement back to him. La grand, hes upset by the whole affair. At first it hurt because i wasnt getting contacted by anybody. Nobody was calling me. Nobody was reaching out to me. I wanted answers. I was calling everyone back and no one was reaching out to me. Im like whats going on here. More live from piscataway, new jersey, did he get his answer, brian . Reporter well, he says he was upset and hurt after he was uninvited by rutgers to speak. He tells me he understands it was a huge miscommunication and cant wait to speak to his fellow graduates today. It has been a long road for eric. The rutgers star defensive tackle had nfl hopes until october 16, 2010, when he became paralyzed from the neck down after a tackle during a kick return, but if you ask eric and his mother they tell you that they always believed Graduation Day would come. No matter how much pain and suffering youre going through at the time, if you really focus on one thing and you put your mind to it, anything is truly possible, no matter all the other stuff that comes along with it that you have to go through. Finally you get over the bumps. Three months after the accident, eric a junior at rutgers, began his intense therapy sessions while still taking classes. It wasnt easy. I was taking skype classes, you know. I was trying to make it to a lot of my evening classes. I was meeting and making sure i was having my assignments in on time, so many Different Things went into this. Like i said, my mom driving me, stopping to get dinner real fast and then going to an evening class and not getting done until 9 00 at night. It was a lot for him and me also but he was the one doing the work. I was just doing the chauffeuring back and forth, and im extremely proud of him that hes accomplished this. Motivational speaker and more. Im trying to find a cure for paralysis that allows me to live my dream and walk in that stadium again and so many other people to live their dream. Reporter eric says he hasnt prepared a speech because he doesnt really ever prepare a speech. He cant wait to share his story, and by the way, eric can now lift up his arm a little bit, and he says he has full range of motion in his neck, an incredible story that people are about to here hear two hours from now. Arthel. Thats so incredible and, indeed a motivator. Bryan, thanks so much for bringing us that story. What a magnificent young man. California chrome is one win away from the triple crown after last nights victory at the preakness but the race horse might not be able to run at the Belmont Stakes next month because racing officials in new york usually dont let horses wear nasal strips. California chrome has worn the strips for his last six victories. They are designed to enhance breathing like the kind humans wear. Well, out west, some wildfires have been causing worry. So far they have destroyed 11 houses and more now live from california with the latest. Dominic, how is that battle now going . Reporter its been amazing in the past 24 hours or so. They have really wrestled down all the fires and here in Coronado Hills where i am there is an Evacuation Order in place. They were thinking it could be lifted at 6 00 p. M. This evening, but on the northeastern side theres still some hot spots and it could be tomorrow before that happen. Of course, residents are getting very frustrated. They want to get back to their homes, eric, and quite frankly they want to know whats happened to their properties. I just want to go home. Its a challenge, but, of course, i did 23 years in the navy, had the adapt and overcome mentality. Reporter officials saying there are still danger here and thats because a lot of the power lines are down and a lot of the power lines are live, and until the power lines are back up or made safe that Evacuation Order cant be lifted. Part of the orders in place still have to do with fire crews coming up and down the road, a lot of downed power lines and were not ready to let them back in. Reporter fire season is taking off with such a rate that they are very concerned with the kind of fires that weve, 11 of them in the San Diego County area, clean bushes. Theres still vegetation that wasnt burned so that means the fires can come back and that is an immense work and residents very, very worried they are in for a long give summer. Critics scrutinizing the resignation of the Top Health Care official at the department of veteran affairs, undersecretary for Health Robert Petzel stepping down while secretary Eric Shinseki has refused to resign, saying thursday that he would wait for a forthcoming inspector generals report, so is this enough as reports of waiting list problems spread across the country. Major general bob scales is a fox news military analyst joining me now to talk more about this. Good morning, sir. Hi, arthe sfl if you would allow me id like to get personal off that. You suffer from a serious disease that was caused by exposure to agent orange while you were serving in vietnam. I mean, youve experienced the red tape firsthand in the v. A. Health care system. Could you talk about your experience. Yeah. I spent a year and a half trying to get a declaration of disability from the v. A. i wrote all the letters, filled out all the forms and after a year and a half, arthel and i go to the v. A. Office, they have no records, no electronic records and i even called my doctor at walter reid, had a colonel send all my records by fax, my internet. She refused, and i was simply just dismissed. I was so angry, arthel, probably what i shouldnt have done, i went straight to the top in the pentagon, and i and i crushed her over the next two weeks and i got the documentation i need, but you have to ask, arthel. A Major General and fox news military analyst has to spend a year and a half to get that paper, what about that young veteran with traemtic brain injury or ptsd or serious wound out say somewhere in wyoming or montana . What does she or he have to go through . General scales, thanks for sharing your personal store with me and i ask you now how do you fix the Health Care System that our veterans rely on immediately and in the longterm overhaul . First of all, lets identify the problem. The medical staff at the v. A. Are very good. The problem is the bureaucracy its the gatekeepers, the people between the veteran and the doctors that are the problem. They are the ones with all the literally with the power of life and death over veterans so we have to do something to get the patient close to the doctor without all the bureaucratic intermediaries. Ive always recommended a voucher system. If a veteran has to wait more than two weeks give him a voucher so he can go to another doctor, at least start his treatment until he enters the v. A. , a lot of things we can do, but the first thing we have to do is break the back of this bureaucracy. Break the back of this bureaucracy, so the investigation, general scales, might take longer than some would like it to take. Oh, yeah. Meanwhile, what should happen to the v. A. Employees and administrators directly involved in these gross offenses . Should there be criminal charges in. Heres the thing, they are bureaucrats, you cant fire them and they can wait you out. You know, and if youre a whistleblower the first thing they do is they ignore you and then they contest your facts and then they turn on you and get you fired. No, the the bureaucracy like this simply has the patience and they will wait for all of this to dissipate and nothing will get better in the v. A. Yes, the the senior administrators in the v. A. Have to now set an example and go after the the uncaring bureaucrats, those who keep veterans away from doctors and do something that makes some sense, like fire the ones who are inefficient or who are dishone dishonest. Otherwise time is always on the side of the bureaucrats you dont seem very confident that they will get fired. Very short, sir. Weve been at this as long as ive been in the military. Remember, theres nothing more difficult to penetrate than a federal bureaucracy and v. A. By reputation is the first. Weve had great v. A. Senior administrators, great doctors but problem are the bureaucratic intermediaries. We need to get something done because its really gross what has happened there. Job scales, appreciate your time this sunday, sir. See you again soon. I hope so. Thank you. Stick around because the doctors are in. Sunday housecall starts after the break. Eric and i will join the doctors. When folks think about what they get from alaska, they think salmon and energy. But the energy bp produces up here creates Something Else as well jobs all over america. Engineering and innovation jobs. Advanced Safety Systems technology. Shipping and manufacturing. Across the United States, bp supports more than a quarter million jobs. When we set up operation in one part of the country, people in other parts go to work. Thats not a coincidence. Its one more part of our commitment to america. Im artel neville. Time now for sunday housecall. And im eric sean. Joining us as all is dr. Marc siegel of the Langone Medical Center and author of unlocking the secret code of sickness and health. And dr. David samadi is joining us live from orlando, florida. Chairman and professor of urology at lennox hill hospital and chief of robotics surgery. Doctors, welcome, as always. Good morning. Good morning. Nice to see you guys . I want to start with shall we start with the mers outbreak. I mean, its
