One issue that took some wind out of the sales, retail sales. The report came out moments ago. Retail sales for the month of march down 3 10 of a percent. And expectation was 1 10 of a percent. The expectation that the consumer is out and about not the case, retail sales worse than expected this morning. There are over 83 million millennials in the United States according to the u. S. Census bureau, more than 25 of the countrys population. Eric trump, son of president ial hopeful donald trump, is one of the millennials and unable to vote for his own father because he missed the Voter Registration deadline. He joined me earlier in the program and defended it. Here you have a party who tweets out never trump, right, you know, call off the vote, were not going to have a vote, were going to pick the candidate we want. Thats not democracy, it disenfranchises a lot of people. If you look at my generation and it disenfranchises a lot of peoplen its very sad. If you live in a state you should be able to vote and shouldnt have to jump through hoops, you cant figure it out. Maria if every millennial voter went out to the polls, millennials would be the factor in every state. Its gotten insane. People are fed up with the establishment. Hillary clinton is doing terribly with millennials, myself included. I know who i hate the most, which is Hillary Clinton. Maria wow no, because she represents everything about what millennials dont want right now. Shes, you know, in the system, she doesnt play by the rules, and when she tries to talk to millennials shes not reaching out to us, shes so obviously pandering, tweet us your Student Loan Debts in emoji, and you dont know what youre talking about and so just be yourself. Maria thats an important sentiment. People just want authenticity and thats why trump is resonating. I have to agree with kat on this one, i think that the establishment, both at the dnc and rnc are clinging to what they know and as a result, theyre pushing away independents, which are the majority of millennials are now registered as independents. These the future of our country and to go back to eric trump, i think hes right on this. Every state has such complicated registration, theyve got absentee ballots, early ballots, sometimes theyre the same, sometimes different. In new york, we have closed primaries, very closed primaries, you have to register with a party in october. But your due was if your dad is running, you google it. [laughter] google it. I mean, the point about hillary, shes running against the 90s. And the 90s era policies, her husbands, are what put the millennials where they are today. The Student Loan Debt and wow, okay, so you blame bill clinton. Oh, absolutely. And a little republicans. Maria what do you think . Im not up to be swayed at all. The only swaying is who i think should be vicepresident , but im fully for donald trump. Maria you are . I have loved him since he announced he was going to run. Everything he says, his focus on bringing back jobs, what we need and i couldnt imagine anyone to help our economy more than him. Hes been so successful. I like that hes tough. I dont think hes going to take anyones nonsense and turning things up and do whats best. Maria does it bother you his stance on immigration, the border calls, lets wait and ban muslims until we figure it out . It doesnt bother me, our safety is utmost importance and if we cant properly vet people, i think thats what we need. We need to lets maybe not let everyone rush in and see if we can find a way to let them in and not be destroying. Maria do you feel the same as kat when it comes to the other side, Hillary Clinton. Absolutely, i dont think that millennials like her. No one trusts her. Shes a liar and a few people, it worries me, some ive spoken to, you dont really need to trust the president. How can you not trust the president . Don this brings me to Bernie Sanders because Hillary Clinton is leading in the quinnipiac poll, but Bernie Sanders is not worried about it, hes going to the general election. Not long ago january, Hillary Clinton blocked out the other democrat candidates in august by getting half of the super delegates. And those under 45 and Progressive Side moving with Bernie Sanders, this is the future. Ive got to listen more. And sure enough he has a very detailed plan. Maria do his socialist policies concern you . I mean, at some point, do you feel an aspiration to be in the highest earning tax bracket. Sure. Maria and are you ready to pay 92 of the earnings in tax . I dont think thats true. I think what hes trying to do is reconfigure the economy, the burdens are not on the back of the middle class, secretaries and working class, its the wealthiest 1 that corporations pay their taxes off fair share of taxes. I plan on being rich and i dont want to have to pay that. Agree. The economics didnt work and weve seen that the last and morning joe on your competing show, trickle down economics doesnt work anymore so republicans are coming out and saying weve got to change the system. We need to motivate people again and i think that Bernie Sanders does the opposite of that. Slack off, dont worry, were going to take care of you, the government will take care of you. Listen to what hes saying . Go to work, get the American Dream where it needs to be, you can work and achieve anything and make something of yourself. Maria i like what kat says, planning on being very rich. I dont want to be, i plan to be very, very rich. Maria exactly. And youve got plans in place for that and youre not about to give a majority. Definitely know. Bernie sanders is a likeable dude, i think id have fun going out to brunch with him. With hillary, id have to bring a food tester. I get why people support him over her, but i dont know how you could be a motivated person and Bernie Sanders supporter at the same time. Maria do you believe that college will be free . Hes worked better with republicans than any other democrat. He could negotiate Getting College as cheap as possible, but you dont negotiate from the middle like Hillary Clinton. I would attribute that more to the computers being in the market and less people trading daytoday and its being more computer driven. So i think thats more secular than anything.
