Capital requirements and the like. Bank of america was the good news. That really held strong all day long on the dow jones industrials. Jpmorgan on the other hand not so much obviously with those fed findings coupled with the fact theyre in washington facing all the questions about the london whale. A tough day for jpmorgan. Sandra happy friday, to you, nicole. Were seeing groupon seeing a huge rally. Up 7 . Investor bill miller say he is very bullish on the name right now. Right. We saw that Early Morning before the opening bell. That has been the trend all day. All you need one big guy on the street with positive comments and a big move. Much like the analyst call. David then we have apple which is popping despite this new Samsung Phone which i think has been overhyped, this ithing. Not quite what it was pumped up to. I know what you mean. Eye scrolling technology. David not really eye scrolling. Head moving. Not eye scrolling. Whatever it is. You know what . Apple is popping today. Good news for apple shareholders. Samsung didnt rule the day. Sandra online retailers selling off today. [closing bell rings] amazon down for a second straight day, ebay as well, nicole . Down arrows. We snapped our winning streak. The dow is down after ten Straight Days of gains. David it is down but some stocks are up like bank of america and apple. Again it is not down that much when you think how it has gone up over the past ten sessions. A little downside aint such a bad thingers the bells have rung. Here is how it all sounds. Dow jonesdown 26 points. S p the same percentage wise. Nasdaq white that percentage wise but still have than a full percentage point. That is not that bad. Russell almost making it into the green off. 07 , sandy. Sandra big week for Energy Markets as well. Oil and natural gas posting strong gains. Oil ending the week higher by nearly 2 at 93 lynn 45 a barrel while natural gas scoring a gain of nearly 7 . For the week ending at 3. 87 per btu, david. David dade we had one of the indices, Consumer Price index, talking about inflation. Inflation is heating up but interestingly the 10year treasury yield fell today. That is usually opposite. When you have more inflation yield goes up. Today the yield dropping three basis point moving back below 2 . Weird to figure out. Well the big streak of wins for the dow is over but your winning streak can keep on going. We have top Money Managers ready to point you towards profits. We look at the business, yes, thats right, ladies and gentlemen, vice. We have all taken. Sandra we all have ours. David in some area in the vice world. Well take you inside the world of legal prostitution in a while with the owner of the worlds most famous moonlight bunny ranch. This place is open 24 7. Even has its own helicopter pad. Sandra this is interesting. So is ricks cabaret and owns and operates gentlemen clubs across the country. Including one of the largest in america. Plus some restaurants. Find out how this Publiclytraded Company grows even in the face of a weak economy. David lets look what drove the markets today with todays data download. Stocks pulling back with all three major indices closing lower. The dow snapped its longest winning streak since 1996 falling in into the red after ten Straight Days of gains. Dow, s p, nasdaq all ending higher for the week. Utilities and financials were the weeks Top Performing sectors, while telecom, Consumer Staples lagged a bit. Consumer prices rising at its fastest pace in nearly four years in february, jumping. 7 . The jump was fueled by a 9 surge in gasoline prices. So it was limited primarily in that one area. A 5. 4 climb in Energy Prices overall. Preliminary reading showed Consumer Sentiment tumbled in early march to the lowest level in a year as americans face uncertainty over federal spending cuts. The index dropped to 71. 8 level this month, far below februarys reading of 77. 6. Economists forecasts of 78, sandra. Sandra weve got Mark Sebastian in the pits of the cme group in chicago. Our market panel. John buckingham, al frank Asset Management and sandy, from global bmo chief market strategist. Start on the trading floor. Lets get to mark. Mark, you have to ask the question at this point. Ten Straight Days of gains for the dow, continuous record highs, here we end on a friday with a down day for the market. Are we starting to feel a little top heavy . Well, two points in the s ps. You know much like my beloved Chicago Blackhawks all good streaks must come to an end. The dow finally loses. Sandra youre calling it, calling a top to the market, mark . No, i dont think this is a top at all. Ill tell you why. Some real interesting things going on in the s p futures options today. A customer came in and bought 86,000 of the s p june 1550 calls. That is the equivalent of about 2 1 2 million times the s p 500. So everyone point the s p rallies the guy makes 2. 5 million if he is right. Huge bet. We also saw traders buying options across cboe. I think what we have seen is maybe a floor in the vix, but the paper is pointing toward continuous bullish action. So what we might see is maybe this slow grind higher stuff. We might actually get a little leg to this rally. This rally has been so slow. You know, i keep waiting for something to happen and, you know, these trades may point toward some action coming book to the market. David lets talk about Retail Investor because were getting word actresses are getting in. Folks who are 16 years old are getting into stock market, starting to give advice to some traders around. Isnt that sort of dangerously reminiscent of the top of the market back in the late 90s . Oh, yeah. Well, absolutely. When you hear your neighbor or your buddy at the bar talking about the stock that he wants to buy, then you know its probably time to get out of that stock. I saw about that. She didnt know any stocks. David mila kunis, the actress. She was on the evil network. No, no. There was a 16yearold actress along with her starting to give advice now. That is when it gets a little out of control. No. I agree. So, you know, if this was the top, we are going to call it the kunis top forever. Sandra copy that. I dont think it was. Sandra mark, thank you so much. Well see you in a few minutes by the way when the s p futures close for the week. David meanwhile lets bring in our market panel. John buck buckingham and sandy lincoln. Sandy, first to you. You dont see any pullback. We hear a lot of talk about five to ten to 15 pull back. You dont see any significant pullback at all in the near future, do you . I really dont, david. I think it is an interesting phenomenon now. We had a lot of reason to get a pullback, fiscal cliff and sequestration. But stock markets are supposed to be a leading indicator after all. What are they looking at . U. S. Retail sales pretty good. Auto truck sales pretty good. Look at consumer while the survey is little weaker today it may be due to gas prices, et cetera. Consumer sentiment pretty decent. Money coming no into the market. You add into the mix that chinas economy is stablizing at decent growth rate. Exports improving. Europe may get out of resession late this year, early next. That is the prevailing backdrop. This leading indicator seems bulletproof. It iser littlely reminiscent of the 1990s. We havent had all that much money come off the sidelines. We have nine weeks of positive equity flows into mutual funds. There will be turbulence that could come around the budget issue. So far the market seems pretty impervious. Sandra john, i have to bring you in here, you take a longer term approach looking at these markets. You know we are talking about the fact that the Retail Investor seems to be showing up now. That the dow is up ten Straight Days. Are you fearful in the short term that we could have a snapback in the stock market . Well youre always worried about any kind of a rally that weve had like this. It is normal to have some kind of a pullback but im not really worried about too much enthusiasm from investors. I just dont see it. I know we hear, if you go out and find an actress here or there they will probably come on your tv network say, hey, theyre buying stocks but i just dont see the taxi driver giving me stock tips yet. I dont see mutual fund flows being overly positive. Investment Company Institute puts out numbers every week and u. S. Equity fund flows the last two weeks have been outflow, negative. I dont see tremendous enuse am for equities yet. Yes, there is a tremendous amount of money thats on the sidelines still and or parked in bond funds. Bonds are still getting all the love if you look at fund flows. Not as if money gone from bonds into equities. There are really continue to come into bonds. I dont lose any sleep over sentiment. In fact i think that is a reason to be optimistic. David sandy, i have enthusiasm over your stock picks. The reason last time you mentioned angies list and lions gate up 59 and 33 respectively. You have a good feeling. You brought in stocks that arent really household names stocks. One of them is ocwen financial. Tell us what that is . I know they deal with subprime, kind of dangerous territory. What do they deal in now. They deal in subprime. Theyre in Mortgage Servicing. Theyre not mortgage originator. Theyre dealing in subprime with commercial and residential. Big banks want out of that business. Investment banks want out of the business. They pick up the business and collect Mortgage Servicing fees. They collect late fees if there are late payments they get paid. If they refinance the mortgage in any way, shape or form. There is good top line story there. There is big bulk business acquired by this company. It is only selling eight times forward earnings, david. Thats one of the reasons we really like it. Senior management has been around for years. This is business maybe 1 to 2 trillion of servicing stuff they could still continue to acquire. There is good persistent story. Although the stock has done well we still like it here. Sandra john, dare i say, apple may be looking attractive right now . It actually went up 2 1 2 in todays trading up 11 bucks. This is a stock that has not participated in the rally this year. It is down 17 . Are you starting to think it looks attractive at these levels . Forward pe is about ten right now. Right, absolutely. I think apples attractive. We just rerecommended the stock in our prudent speculator newsletter. Believe it or not the first time was in 2003 at 7. Weve taken a lot of money off the table. The run from 700 down to the low 400s in our mind makes the stock really attractive here. You get great dividend yield of 2 1 2 and potential for the yield to go up as they decide to do something with the cash. Forward pe of ten is really low. I think apples name people should be looking to buy today. David john buckingham, sandy lincoln, gentlemen, great advice. Good stuff. Have a great weekend. Coming up next you would think politicians might want to bring in jpmorgan head jamie dimon to figure out what happened in the whale trade but he wasnt invited to todays investigation of the 6 billion trading loss. Why not . Weve got some answers for you from inside the beltway coming up. Sandra plus we continue our look at business of vice. Ricks cabaret has adult clubs around the country and continues to expand with a new club opening this weekend. A executive from this publiclytraded brand will let us know how the industry has been able to withstand all the economic pressures, david. David if that wasnt enough, vice for you, we have the owner of the moonlight bunny ranch is the one made famous in the hbo cat house series. Sandra s p futures closing right now. Lets head back down to the cme group in chicago where Mark Sebastian is standing by. Just 30 seconds left, mark. What does this telling us how we wrap up the week . Looks like were going to close unchanged. Guy came in to sell some futures. We may give up a couple ticks on the close. I wouldnt worry too much about it. Its a friday. Not a lot of good reasons to take a long position into the weekend. Probably just some people that got stuck long. Sandra but, mark, this is a difference in the trend that weve seen over the past ten trading days where we finish at the highs of the day. Here we are sort of selling off at the end of the day and the week. I agree. I will buy into some sort of selloff when it is more than one digit selloff. Maybe then i will start paying attention. Sandra there you go. Until we break 1550 i think were straight up from here. That guy buying 4 billion worth of the s p 500, that gives me confidence im trading with him. Sandra awesome. That is why we go to the trading floor. We like that color. Mark sebastian. David do you ever miss that . You have it in your blood. Sandra i was down there once a month or so. Shares of directv rising today. Lets head back to nicole on the floor of nyse. What is going on, nicole . I should have asked for a 10year chart for directv looks like alltime high. Was going to say an annual high. As i chart it, directv showing how shareholder friendly. The stock is jumping as you can see 4 1 2 . This is because the company wont be buying vivendis brazilian unit that is sign, another sign theyre quite shareholder friendly. You see directv, despite the fact markets were selling off they got a pretty nice pop. Back to you. David nicoles got a little irish going with her greek background there. I think there is little irish in all of us. I celebrate everybody. David thank you, nicole. Sandra a day after releasing a scathing report, a Senate Subcommittee holding a hearing today on jpmorgans trading disaster. We know it as the london whale. David cost at least 6 billion. Current and former top executives from the firm testified, but, noticeably absent was jamie dimon ceo. Where is he . We know he was in d. C. Earlier in the week. Rich edson is live in d. C. Why wasnt he there, rich . Committee aides say they had everyone they wanted to talk to here. Jamie dimon has testified on this topic over the last year or so and did so in front of a house and senate panel. They didnt think they needed him. He wasnt invited. He did come up here. A number of former executives and regulators saying jamie dimon ordered daily profit loss records for a time to be held from regulators. This Committee Report came out last night charges that the regulators were dodged by the bank. Im asking you whether or not its accurate that the occ got the information on those positions on a regular and recurring basis as part of your normalized reporting . Im asking you that. Is that accurate . They got information not information. Im saying, im going to read this to you, i will keep reading to you until you give me the answer. Did they get the information on those positions on regular and recurring basis . You know what those positions are. The positions in the whale trade. As part of normalized reporting. Did they . They did not get the detailed positions regularly. Okay. Got summary information. Ill settle for that. Now the office the comptroller of currency, the primary regulator said it didnt follow up and took some blame for this. Also it did tech discuss around ina drew, she was the chief Investment Officer of the bank at the time. She said the blame basically goes on folks she was overseeing in London Office. She was diligent doing her work but the folks in the London Office are to blame for manipulating Balance Sheets is what the essentially the report is saying. Whether jamie dimon will return to capitol hill and testify before this matter, Committee Chair carl levin would wait to see how this hearing went before contacting jamie dimon. They will not say whether or not a invitation is forthcoming. David he may have had enough of those guys. Maybe. David . Sandra rich edson, have a good weekend. You too. Sandra coming up on money with melissa at 5 00 p. M. , did regulators drop the ball when it comes to jpmorgans whale loss . Were there warning signs they clearly missed . Melissa will talk to former fdic chairman sheila bair. David that should be interesting. Coming up next we turn our attention to the business of vice. Specifically well be talking about other parts of it, adult videos. Sandra liz claman, she is in california where it is about lunchtime. L. A. David all right. Sandra it comes as no surprise the company known for its high production value adult movies recently launched a new web app, david. David liz claman is in chatsworth, california, with the ceo of vivid entertainment, liz. Sandra, david, want to introduce you to nicole and capri. Nicole is pet of the year for penthouse. Thank you very much. Were in the wardrobe room. Theyre on about their 15th scene. This is the ceo of a completely Different Company that penthouse, this is Steven Hirsch of vivid entertainment. High quality. Always known for the very high quality Adult Entertainment, correct . We started the company about 30 years ago. Right from the beginning we thought that quality was important. Consistent Quality Works and has worked for us. Liz does it come with consistent revenues these days . The industry has changed, there is no question about it. You have to be nimble. You have to be willing to change. The revenue comes from the internet. It comes from tv. It comes from licensing. It is not like five years ago when maybe 70 of the dollars came from dvd. Now its scattered. Liz what youve done to not chase it but to make sure youre a leader in it, you Just Launched vivid touch, correct . That is web app browser. Youre looking at that as real opportunity because listen, every second people spend 3,000 on pornography whether for content or actual retail properties. Look at someone like apple. They havent really been adult industry friendly. We develop ad webbased app that works like an app and looks like an app but access from the browser. Liz is that the best way to be relevant in todays Adult Entertainment world . You have to take advantage of every opportunity. Thats why were interested in continuing to further the internet business. We launched vivid individual tv it is growing great not only domestically but worldwide. We have license be opportunity. Liz vivid tv is a channel. When people watch other Adult Entertainment channels they see vivid entertainment, you provided content. That put you in direct content with channels you used to watch content . All our movies will now only be on vivid tv. Vivid ts is not only on demand service but a linear channel. What is exciting not only here in the u. S. But worldwide. And thats where the dollars are really coming from. You look at a place like latin america, and all of sudden theyre coming online and there is dollars to be made there. Liz a lot of talk on the Business Network today has been about samsung launching the brand new galaxy phone. What about the smartphone business . Your vivid touch and your browser, will that really help the opportunity to capitalize on the dollars that could be there with the mobility . Well i think whats important is vivid everywhere. You need to be able to access our content on any device at any time. Whether youre watching it on tv, your laptop, your tablet or your phone, we need to be there so vivid everywhere is very important. Liz you launched this in 1984. Your father was in the industry. He must be so proud of his son. Or something. Liz or something. I guess the question really becomes, you know, today, the Adult Entertainment industry when you do it right has a lot more legitimacy. People, you can thank larry flynt in part for that because he fought so hard for, you know the opportunity for people to even grow in this business. Right. Liz why not do an ipo, steven . You know, we like to control our own destiny. Traditionally adult ipos they havent done very well. It is difficult to get real fund to invest in adult businesses. So for us, were selffunded. Weve been doing it for 30 years. I like the way its going. Liz you have licensed out the name vivid to everything from condoms to vodka. I like the name vivid vodka. What is next in the pipeline . Were doing gentlemans clubs. Were getting ready to launch individual very radio which is licensing deal. Liz will that be satellite radio . It will. Were excited about that. Initially it will be internet based but ultimately well be everywhere. Liz Steven Hirsch the ceo of vivid. Thank you so much for joining us. Thank you. Liz theyre all signed to exclusive contracts with penthouse, so forget about them. We have our own girls. All right. Listen as i send it back to you guys, we spent the whole day showing people fox business exclusive. Television cameras have never gone behind the scenes here at the penthouse 3d studios. When you talk about how sin sells it is an investment opportunity. Thats what fox business has tried to do on every day that weve been around for you. I will send it back to you guys. David sandra said, she didnt know women in porn dressed like that. I told her they dont dress like that for long in porn. But any rate. I wasnt supposed to say that . Sandra theyre if you have coverage dresses there. David they are. They come off. Sandra liz, thank you so much. David live and steve hirsch, thank you so much. We go from Adult Entertainment to the clubs. Ricks cabaret, the Publiclytraded Company that is the pace seter for adult clubs around the country. You didnt know that, did you . Sandra i do now. David find out how revenue continues to rise even as fewer big spenders shows up at the clubs. Sandra well are big spenders staying out of the casinos . What about the casual gambler . That would be two different types of gamblers. Higher taxes and gas prices could spell trouble for cities that do rely on casino resorts. This is a Company Operating gentlemans clubs and restaurants across the country, looking to open four more location this is year as they increase growth. David so how do they stay competitive in this market . Joining us is the ricks cabarets International Director of operations and Management Services president. Good to see you, ed. Thanks for coming in. Appreciate it. By the way, i do a show called forbes on fox. You are according to forbes, one of americas 200 bestrun small companies. So congratulations on that. Im just wondering though, what is your demographic that youre most interested in targeting . Obviously its male but what kind of male and what in what kind of places . Where is your best target . Hi, david. Well, we have 36 locations nationwide. We have, variety of concepts, brands. We have the ricks brand which is, our flagship, which we cater predominantly to mature male, 35 and up. And then we have acc cabarets, more bluecollar. Cater to the younger clientele. And chrobonix which is gentlemans club. We have four owe locations one in philadelphia, one in houston, one in dallas. Those cater predominantly to africanamerican professionals. We have, we see a lot of professional athletes. We see a lot of. Sandra dont give away your cllentele there, ed. Come on. Ed, everybody is curious, how are you surviving and doing so well in an environment where everybody is sort of strapped for cash . They have buckled down. Theyre only buying what they need and this is seen as a rather frivolous purchase to go into a ricks cabaret and your other shops . I like to call our businesses recession resistent. Were, when the times are rough you see people coming in to get away from their troubles, to relax and forget about the all the problems. And, you know, our business, you know, the numbers stay consistent. And when people are celebrating and times are good, when the market is up, people come in and celebrate. David but retailers are changing their patterns, based on the changing patterns of certain groups of people. I never, i have final question. Which of all those groups thaw service, and there are a lot of different groups of males that youre into, that you target, which one is the most profitable and which one are you trying to focus on more right now . Right now were focusing on all types of demographics. The younger demographic, obviously we do a lot of volume and some of our clubs. You dont see, you know, like, five years ago, six years ago, you see more of the high end locations doing volume where, you know, customers come in, big spenders will come in and spend 10,000 or 15,000. David youre not seeing as much of that now . Were not seeing as much of it. We made up numbers seeing more regular guys, coming in on daily basis and spending 500. We do more volume. Sandra at a ricks cabaret, targeting male 35 and up, sophisticated customer, what do they spend when they come in. Average spend to 300 to 500 per guest. Sandra okay, that being said, im curious what is the outlook for a company like you . Youre very small. You are publicly traded though. Are we going to see more of you throughout the country . Is it tough to get past all the strict regulations that you face . Or do you see big Growth Opportunities . Theres great Growth Opportunities. We, you know, we did 95. 2 million the last fiscal year and were, on track to do 115 million this year. Our goal is to grow 20 to 30 annually. You know, were going to do it through buying more locations, you know, existing locations. The restrictions and regulations in most cities, you will have where theres a limit of clubs. You have, you have to buy an existing location that is grandfathered in. That has grandfather license. For example in new york city were opening a second location. There is only eight existing locations that have a grandfathered license. Well own two of them. David hey, ed, have to ask you. This is hot off the press in florida, lawmakers are considering legislation that would ban those receiving government assistance from using their ebt cards, that is the food stamp cards at strip clubs. Have you ever had folks trying to do that at your place . I dont, no the really. David not really . That is not absolute denial, ed, come on. No. We dont see it much. David much. Okay. Weve had two qualified we might have had a few people try to use it at some of our bluecollar locations where we have younger demographics. David but you dont accept it . We dont accept it, no. David all right. I needed to get you on record for that. Dont want to get you in trouble. Ed, thanks a lot for coming in. Thank you. Sandra thanks, ed. Thank you. Den necessary hoff the owner of Moonlite Bunny ranch and several legal bordellos. He is joined by one of his employees. Chrissie summers. Thank you. Thank you. David dennis, i will start with you. Im sure you both are for legalization of prostitution all over the country. If that happens, dennis, if prostitution is legalized everywhere, would that cut into your business . No, no, not at all. It takes it out of the hands of criminals and puts it into the hands of businessmen. The liquor industry pays 6 billion in federal taxes. The sex industry could do the same thing to help our government. David dont a lot of folks come to your bordello specifically because produce tigs is prostitution is illegal where they are . Absolutely. But they still will come. The bunny ranch is world famous. When you have a Television Show has been on 11 years on hbo, you get pretty famous. David i understand. Im thinking if, prostitution was legal in their community, they might stay there to do it . Absolutely. But were going to do fine. You know, ive got six locations now in this terrible economy. I bought the two love ranchs and the alien cat house and theyre all doing good when all the rest of the brothels in nevada are barely making it and closing up. David chris, what does the average guy spend when he comes in to spend time with you and how much of that do you get to keep . People come in and spend anywhere between 500 and 18,000. I recently had somebody spent 18,000 on me. David how much do you get to keep . How much do you have to give over to dennis . I get 50 of the cut. David 50 . David dennis, is that kind of standard among the legal bordellos in nevada . Thats the norm in nevada. You know, we pay all the expenses and bartenders, the insurance. The license fees. My partner is the countys, because were the biggest license fee payers in the state of nevada. David thats a lot of money for you, dennis. Im wondering what you spend it on .
