Obviously, this will require a great deal of gamesmanship on the part of mr. Trump to assuage concern some of those members may have about his candidacy. Just last week there was a group of conservatives that were going around and talking about, you know, even the option of a third party scenario the if donald trump gets the nomination, and they would get behind some sort of conservative. I think he has to go in there and convince them its not worth giving the election to Hillary Clinton to stop donald trump from being the nominee, because it does sound like there are some conservatives that are almost at the point were talking about. We all know if there is a third party conservative, i think it would be very difficult for donald trump to win. And so i think hes got to convince them a lot of these people probably havent met him before, and i think hes going to try to charm them. Neil you know, gianna, im reading a lot into the noshows and a lot who rsvpd or didnt, but thats a pretty big slap in the face, is it not . Well, i think at this point Republican Leaders everywhere are waking up and smelling the coffee. Its not about donald trump convincing them that hes the guy that should be representing the Republican Party, its about him being the likely nominee, and they should get behind him. Now, in terms of the leaders who may or may not show up at this meeting, theres going to be a number of individuals who do not want to be seen supporting donald trump right now, at least until the convention and he is the republican nominee, so theyll wait until theres an opportunity to support him publicly after hes hit that threshold. Other than that, theyre just going to anemic into the meeting, say sneak into the meeting, say what they need to say, hopefully encourage him to change his rhetoric just a little pit and support him from here on out. Neil that says a lot right there, that theyre going to sneak into the meeting almost like they dont want to be seen or soiled, and i dont know if thats the right message to send, do you . Well, i this i that for a number of individuals on the right whether they be conservative tea partiers, theres been a large force of individuals coalescing against donald trump. People tend to say that his rhetoric is kind of harsh. So now at this point, yes, its a sneakin because theres been people condemning him from all over. Neil right. Whereas he has not been anointed the nominee at this point, the likelihood is he will. So, yes, theyre going to sneak in and wait until he is the nominee before they can vocally support him publicly. Neil like people who show up at my parties. Nevertheless, alex, im reminded of the establishment, for want of a better term, is split on this. Mitt romney only a little over a week ago was campaigning with john kasich in ohio, is now robocalling in arizona and utah that a vote for kasich is, apparently, a waste of time. Listen to this. This is the time for republicans across the spectrum to unite behind ted. He is the only republican candidate who can defeat donald trump. And at this point, a vote for john kasich is a vote for donald trump. Neil all right. Thats a little weird, alex. He was just campaigning with the guy in ohio, now he says forget him, focus on this guy trump and stopping him, and ted cruz is the only guy to do that. What do you think . I tell you what, there are a lot of things that are bizarre about it, just the mere fact that mitt romney is doing something positively for Ted Cruz Neil absolutely, absolutely. Mitt romney, when he announced that he was going to support ted cruz and the utah caucuses tomorrow on friday, he explained that hes doing it because he thinks its the best way to beat donald trump. Its not necessarily because he loves ted cruz, but i think he thinks that by doing this, it heightens the possibility that there will be a contested convention, and in mitt romneys mind, hes probably thinking in that scenario maybe another republican could get the nomination. Its not because mitt romney loves ted cruz, he just wants to stop donald trump which is whats interesting about all these republicans. Its all about stopping trump. Neil what do you make of that, gionno . 60 of the delegates have been allotted, 47 have gone to donald trump. From here on out, the map for the most part favors donald trump. So saying, hey, we need to support ted cruz to stop donald trump, i think, is a load, if you will. I dont think its really that much possible to stop donald trump at this point. Hes been going strong, and everyone is coalesced against him, as i said, and theyve thrown everything at him, the kitchen sink, the house, the bentley, everything. Well, apparently theyve launched five more missiles just since then. This is coming from military sources who are saying north Korean Military activities around the Korean Peninsula have picked up measurably. They are launching Ballistic Missile technology which the government says is in a clear violation of u. N. Security council resolutions. Of course, that is nothing new, but they keep doing it. Think about it this way. You lend money to a company that goes out of business, depending where you are on the creditor scale, you get their assets. You lend money to a campaign. Lets just say he doesnt win. What is the asset you attached . Nothing unless you raise money to get it back to you, get your money back. Donald trump obviously in the league could win this. If he runs for president he will have to raise a lot of money. So the notion i think the bigger point is this. The notion that donald trump is self financing his campaign and wont take a dime from any contributor is probably contradicted by the language of its sec filings that he is lending his Campaign Money. Is taking money now, but after the general election, and going into the general election, all bets are off. The rnc fund, that was payback for the money he spent. It could. Let me just make the point. I dont know how that rnc money there might be specific ways that must be distributed for rats. Neil individual donors. Your bigger point is this. Does that contradict his broader premise that is raising money and i would say at some point, yes. Hes going to have to wake. Donald if he wins has two choices. Number one, he can sell a couple of his buildings. You know, basically turn in some of the stock. He is six to 700 million in stock and finance the campaign because generally general election campaigns take a billion dollars based on celebrity and ability to raise money. Say you get a 500 million. We are going to get it. Hes going to sell a building or raise money . That is essentially yet. Its a story neil assuming hes the nominee, its all in the details. Some amorphous grouping of funding individuals than the pile of money dropped that your campaign doorstep. That would be different than a mitt romney who was still busy raising money. Lets say its a split and your candidate takes utah, donald trump heavily favored in arizona, of course you would have to assume that your candidate will take over 50 of the utah vote which would be winnertakeall in that event. So he would be even ven stephens at end of the day, donald trump which might actually pick apart a few more delegates before all said and done. The math doesnt favor ted cruz. On other hand trump has to win about 55 of the remaining delegates to get to 1237. John kasich does not have a mathematical pathway to get there. People are starting to unite, this is chance to stop him, get to 1237 or lets go to cleveland and go to the convention and lets win it there. Because our big goal, neil. So you cant really do anything, you cant start a little business selling coconuts or opening up your bedroom for a bnb for tourists without the government knowing about it. He thinks health care is success. Ive been to a lot of hospitals in cuba, and a lot of pharmacies in cuba. They dont have enough aspirin of pharmacies. Hospitals are rat infested. Only nice places are used by cuban communist officials. Those are the one Michael Moore took a camera to and did his documentary. Neil not everyone had an embargo against the cubans, right . Right. Neil for those countries that continue to do business with them, why isnt cuba benefit from that relationship . Well they did but it is primary the cuban government because everything is owned by the cuban government. Neil this would be resort central, right . Beautiful resorts, particularly on the north side of the island. The spanish are in there big time. Canadians are in there big time. Theyre making money but theyre not making as much money as a lot of people think because again they have to deal through the government. The government takes a huge chunk of money, a huge chunk of your profits. So is that still existing 22 years later. Absolutely of the horrible thing about cuba is that the people are so entrepreneurial, have a history of being entrepreneurial, are very welleducated. They had more doctors before fidel came into power they had more doctors in cuba than any other country in all of latin america. It is very advanced country. They have tremendous potential. That potential is not being utilized. Every time you do something on your own big enough to become an enterprise of some sort the government shuts it down.
