How did you get him to write a book . Was it your idea . He decided he didnt need college. That is fine. Because he ought to go to college if it serves your need and it is a reasonable decision financially. We are convinced today by the powers of the experts that everyone should go to college and spend whatever it takes. That is not a Good Business plan for anybody. When he told me he was going to college i told him you need to do something with your time. You need more academics. You should invest in. I suggested he write a book. What am i going to write a book about, he said. I said, well you like politics, come up with something political that is humorous. So. You sent out a tweet saying college is a very expensive lottery ticket. Yes. It is. I forgot that i did that. But it is. We live in a society where our schools are really forcing us to think about ourselves as the highest Value College prep and career readiness. That is their focus. That is a promise. Parents are like, what are your stats . How many kids go to college . How many graduate and all of that, what are they go to school, and what are their earnings potentials . Our focus of life is we need to make money. We are taught for 12 years of precollege that your highest value, youre worth is tied to how much money you make. That is dangerous paradigm to instill in young people. And at the same time we remove the spirituality. You forgot world religion you have world religion they all the same. We believe in science the hard cold facts or whatever. So, unfortunately, there is a tradeoff that happens. The children understand that they are just money earners. I dont know about you, but, i gave birth to three children. They are not cash machines. Quite the opposite. Up tbe casmaines either. To grow so, think we have adopted this false paradigm. Its a lie. College prep is part of that because college prep career readiness, that is not being borne out. We have cage graduating we have kids graduating college that cannot hold a job or they are in debt. We can put that aside. That is a lie. What is college prep . College prep is convincing the children and the parents that you have to spend the money to go to college to get that the money. You have to win the money. Then you have people at 60 years old and maybe they have made it. Maybe they grabbed the brass ring and won the lottery, there making the money. And theyre not happy, because money doesnt buy you happiness. They are going, what is wrong with me, im not happy. It is because we have completely ignored the spiritual side of life. You are looking at endoflife, at 60, and you are going, what is it all about . So, it is like a midlife crisis, that is engineered into the system. He was homeschooled, along with his two siblings, correct . Youve come out with a new guide, what you have learned from homeschooling for kids. This is a playbook for Home Learning. I did a conference and i developed this resource for parents so they could come and take notes. It is basically a fillin in the blank, workbook, to work through why were talking about Home Learning instead of school. Because the school paradigm is a false paradigm. School paradigm is built on lies. So thats my whole mission now, is to free people. It is emancipation in a sense. We have been enslaved to the School System to believe that that is the all and end all. Not only is it not the end all, but it is a system a systematic deception of the youth. First of all, first thing you learn in school as you have to raise your hand to ask a question. But education should begin with questions. We should not be deterring students from asking questions. Thomas edison said i did not fail 10,000 times i just found 10,000 ways not to make a light until i made a lightbulb. That is, dont try. First it is, dont ask, then it is dont try. The number one question in schools these days are, teacher will this be on the exams . That is, dont think. It is not education, does the opposite. I want parents to consider Home Learning which is really more focused on the individual. We want to empower children to become the most that they can be, the best that they can be, not the most money they can get. That is a difference. Sam, how did you make that decision to homeschool your kids . They went there first and second grade in a very Public School removed for the school. We moved for the school. They were not fulfilling what education should be. It was much more about class management which it is. By the way, people push back at me like will how else can you run a classroom you have to have order in the classroom. Of course after raise her hand. What would you suggest . Dont put them in a classroom. Problem solved. Of course you need order when you are giving children sheets and corralling them in a classroom with the children of the same age, by the way, which does not exist in real life. You are not comparing these children to engage in real life. Your infanta lysing them for 12 years, before they get to college which is more advanced, because it is party and drinking and all of that stuff. It does a disservice to the culture. Its the destruction of the family. Theres so much involved in that. What we really ought to do is pay more attention to the words, which is why i wrote the words for warriors. They say we are educators but they are not. Because education comes from the latin word. It is the verb to lead out what to lead, the a in front of it is to lead out. Education should be leading the child out in the truth. But theyre not doing that. They are just training the child to regurgitate what he is told. They are training the child to trust the expert, training the child not to ask questions but to accept what is given to him. That is not education. So you follow the other two . Oh yeah. I started learning with them. So, we for homeschooled through first grade. And then, right from the beginning. I did some things wrong. Talk about that, in they are your kids, which is my first book. Im not afraid to admit it. It is a difficult thing to step outside the school paradigm. Do you know, when you are an actress that you are going to be an author on education . Did you see that trend . I was always signed to math. I went to university and studied biomedical engineering. I really wanted to act but i was convinced by the teacher in school who was a failed actress herself that nobody succeeds in acting, which makes sense, because she didnt succeed, she was teaching high school. So i was deterred from pursuing acting. Then, there was a lot of water under that bridge. I ended up going into acting. And what i understood was they lie when they say to young women you can have it all. That is a lie. There so many lies that are now built into the system in the school we have. The the people who are teaching because they went through teaching colleges and the textbooks because the textbooks have all been forced over the years. Why do we need to use textbooks . Theres not that much new. Theres a lot of the old. We didnt need new nap math textbooks but they changed it because they wanted to implement, court. What parent doesnt want to be common . I dont understand. Its built into the name, baked in. Why would we accept it. We were trained to accept and not question. The whole thing is going off the rails. What is fascinating to me is covid has offered us an opportunity, a grand opportunity to take a deep hard look at what we are being told. Words for warriors is where i talk about the language in the way they have changed the words, so that they say words that we think we understand what they mean, but we dont. For instance, the word proficient, what would you think you would need to score on a test, percentage, to rank as proficient . 80. Some people say 75, some say 90. In the state of ohio, 38 is now defined as proficient. If that is proficient, who is to argue . They are achieving proficiency. Yeah, but you are not asking what they mean by proficient. In the state of oregon, the governor recently signed into law that you dont need to read or do math to graduate high school. Then how are we defining education if you dont mind . I thought they were calling at the three rs. Which by the way the three rs are not education. Its a lie because it is not three rs its not even two rs. Its reading and writing, writing starts with the w. An arithmetic. Not only that, what do you know how to read . Are you educated . No. You still have to go Read Everything and learn how to analyze it and test it and use it. So, the three rs is not education. It is the tools of education. But then you have to go and get educated. Your words for warriors, your newest book does not have an introduction. Its a list of words, with your with the definition, plus some comments. Yes. Its a lexicon. It does have an introduction. I pointed out in the introduction, a lesson i think that is really important. That i gleaned from teaching my kids. This is a paradigm. I think it is still in there. This is the paradigm that i want people to understand. When you are sacrificing school, when you give up school, youre not actually sacrificing much. But we are getting on the other end is a life with your kids, a relationship with your kids, as a family unit, which is a replaceable. But you have been hoodwinked into thinking that school is important by the people who make money on schooling. In my introduction i talked to my kids because when we homeschool, we go to community and we have conversations. Once a week. The kids are asking me, why do we have to go have conversations . I tell them the story of how wealth is created. Two people meet, one of them has a spear, cavemen, that is beautiful and sharp and strong and straight. The other has a basket. He is never seen a spear before but he gathers berries and his basket is so tightly woven and holds water. Neither of them have seen the other tool. So they hit upon this theme that they will exchange tools. They do. Who was wealthier . They both are. Well wealth is generated in the exchange. It is a spiritual thing. Wealth is generated in the exchange. That works with words too. When we have a conversation we both lead, if it is a good conversation, wealthier. You teach me things and i teach you things. I hope. I hope i am telling you things that you dont know. This conversation, we return to make other people wealthy. There an exchange that happens. Its on a spiritual level. We dont know. It just happens. But that is how wealth is generated. We are losing our words because there are people who seek to shut us down. There are quiet, you are not allowed to speak, they shut off peoples my mics at the school board meeting. They want to silence people because they dont want the wealth generation that the exchange creates. So that is why it is important to me. One of the words in words for warriors you have and there is canceled. Sam cancel. Yes. My favorite word in the book is npc. An npc is a nonplaying character. A nonplaying characters from a videogame. The Video Developers created characters that they need to help the player get from point a to point b instead of just putting on the screen, go from point a to point b. They create a character that says, to unlock the door, you must score more, or Something Like that. So its they are programmed with one or two or three phrases and that is it. Were are living in a world of npcs now. We have been programmed. Put your mask over your nose. We are literally dealing with people who are been programmed. Thats why you can offer grades to people. They know not what they do. Fisher. Sam fair share. Another definition and your book. Sam is this a quiz . Well, we talk about fair share, but we have to define our terms. What do you mean by fair . Thats a very deeply misunderstood term. What is fair to me might not be fair to you. So are we going agree that we each get the fair share . That is not in agreement. So that is a chimera, an allusion. We have both agreed it should be fair. Completely meaningless. It should be fair. Ok, moving on. Progressive. Sam progressive. A progressive is somebody you didnt prep me for this. A progressive is somebody who believes that they are working towards the future, typically they are moving backwards. In the book, i get a little snarky. Im a bit sarcastic. My husband is more sarcastic than i am. I have met two of you and you are both sarcastic. Sam ok, he got it for me. We use sarcasm and we have made efforts to be careful with sarcasm because it can be hurtful. I get a little snarky. One of the definitions i ended with, duh. Its fun. Its a fun book. Another word, i will show you this one, so he can look at it. Sam originally meeting someone who hates women, was now diluted to men in general. Any man is automatically a misogynist. Nowadays you are not sure what a man is. So, it could be anything. It could be my dog, he may be a misogynist and i may never know. Even though she is a female dog. Terrible. I love truth. I tried to walk in truth. Its very difficult when you see so much of the world being seduced by the lies. And some of the things that are happening in our schools today is abject child abuse. It inappropriate it is inappropriate to speak to someone elses children at a young age of anything sexual, anything regarding sex. It is completely inappropriate and wrong. It is child abuse. In one instance, child sitting on a mans lap is pedophilia. In another instance, it is dragon queen storytime. Drag queen storytime. I failed to see the difference. We had to be careful with our words and understanding. But ultimately it comes back to the fact we have been trained to avoid the service in school. You can have it all. You dont need to choose or define. Everything is ok. Thats dangerous. Because that is also a lie. We have to be careful. I spoke with a young woman last night who was trying to figure out, she wants to go abroad, she doesnt know if she wants to stay for the full year, shes trying to make this decision. I said, as part of it because you feel like you have a degree that you need to use to make money . She said yes. I mean i worked hard for my degree. I should make money. I said, you should only make money, if working within your degree field makes you happy. Not that you have to chase your bliss, but you have to find out what feeds your soul. Thats what we are not teaching children. They have a soul, they have an inner something, that craves. We see school shootings. We are teaching these children that there is no spirituality, they are just a collection of accidents of nature. A collection of cells. Life has no meaning, except as a cash machine. What you expect from these young people . Were actively robbing them of any sense of purpose for their lives. We are disarming them, we are teaching young kids that if you bite a pop tart in the shape of a gun, you will be suspended. If you point your fingers in the shape of a gun you will be suspended from school. If you bring in a little grg g. I. Joe gun replica, that is zerotolerance, man. No guns guns are bad, little boy. You think were fighting the Second Amendment right on capitol hill . The battle is already being one. You just have not caught on yet. Because those kids when they grow up, they will not want to touch guns. They will not lift a gun to preserve freedom. They are going to sacrifice it all. They will surrender without a fight. Comedy books are you up to . How many books are you up to . Sam six, i think. What is your process . Sam i get impassioned about doing something, then i just start writing. I got very passionate about words for warriors because fascism is leftwing. Fascism is leftwing. Fascism is a leftist ideology. It has nothing to do with right wing ideology. If you go farther right, you are here, in libertarian bill libertarianville. You go into anarchy, that is not fascism. Fascism is leftwing. They use the term fascist in order to paint people as people when they are not fascist they are actually right of center. If bob it bothers me. I dont like being lied to i dont like other people being lied to and other people buying into the lie and becoming npcs and repeating stupid words they dont understand. Has your career been affected in christian and a conservative . Sam so, talking about priority and the fact that we dont teach discernment or prioritizing in school, which is a life lesson. This is something that parents ought to be teaching their children. Parents is that boy from teaching their children because they think the schools have a handle. That is education, that is going to be enough. It is not enough. I discovered, right before i got married, the man of my dreams, you understand, kevin sorbo he is a man of my dreams. Right before we got married, he had three strokes. While he was in intensive care, i landed the beall and endall job for an actress. It was a fantastic job. It would only take me out of town for three days. It was a lot of money. It was a good job. I went into intensive care and i said, do you want me not to go . We werent married. But he was very sick. He said, yes i want you not to go. I went, oh, thats a compromise. You cannot have it all. You have to pick. When you pick, you sacrifice the lesser for the better. The better gets even more better. Because he sacrificed. In the sacrifice, you have given value, give a stowed value on the better. I sacrificed my career. There was not even an issue. I was like, oh, ok, thats the compromise, i will let go of the career because he is important to me. I want family, children, that is what i want. I spent three years nursing him back to health. When i try to get back into acting it was sort of like difficult. We lived in vancouver, canadians dont want americans taking canadian jobs. There find coming here, but out of their. Then i had three kids. We moved back to l. A. And i started acting again. Why tried. Or i tried. Then my daughter came up to me, she was a toddler, she ran up to me after i had been away for three hours on additions. No,no, no, with her Little Finger poking at me. I picked her up, oh, whats this about . She turns to the nanny and says, bye, bye. I said, oh, i need to prioritize again. Thats what it is about. Thats the value in life. The value you should be looking for things to sacrifice. What you sacrifice those things what you sacrifice those things you bestow value on things that have true meeting. We have sorbo studios, i get email saying, hey if youre looking to hire i want to make movies you make. By the way after i sacrificed my career, it was redeemed. I wrote a movie. I start in it. Its on the big screens. It did well in the box office. I would never have written that story for myself. I would never have written the story of, oh then she redeemed her career. I was just an passion to write a movie. Then my cowriter said, will you have to play the part. So, i sacrificed, i got the best and you have met my son. He is my pride and joy. That is me. I did that. I dont take credit for him, but i get to have some of that in my life. What would i get instead . Maybe some good parts in movies and loneliness . No thank you. You have to prioritize. It came back full circle. In the process of that, yes, my husband became more vocal and it blew us out of hollywood. Theyre just not interested. Ok, fine. We do things on our own terms now. It is frustrating for him because i think there are a lot of parts that kevin would love to be involved in. A lot of good movies that are being made. They just wont have someone was outspoken. You have to toe the line, man. You cant be saying the truth like that. They took him off of linkedin, facebook. Youtube is censoring me in my show. They just havent taken me down yet, they will, eventually. Im not big enough but there censoring. But the priorities are right. I sleep at night. I work hard. I am trying to make peoples lives better. I sacrifice other things in order to do that. It gives it meaning, more meaning and value. My life is more meaningful. That is a grand equation.
