Thank you, my brothers, my sisters. We all family. There are differences. Some can do more. Some can do less. But we all are part of humanity. We are part of the human society. Particularly america, i would consider this nation a leading nation of free world. You can really make some serious contribution for better world. First, you yourself, your own place, you should create certain positive thing. Then more other people get more inspiration. Like that. So please, think seriously at whatever way you can do, implement into practice, into action like that. Ok. Do you agree . [laughter] dalai lama then on the black african sister, one time in south africa i visit one african family. Then i told her now south africa now already get the democratic constitution and revolution. Nelson mandela president , wonderful. Now emotionally, it take time to change. Now the black people with such confidence and work hard. One of the guests told me, we black people, brain level inferior. I shout and argue. No if you ask brain specialist any differences of brain due to different color, the specialist, the scientist will say no differences. My own experience, some hardline chinese officials make some discrimination and consider tibet backward. Only a question of opportunity. And opportunity come. We want to be equal like that. So i explain, explain. Then finally that native african sighs with understanding, and he respond to me. Now he convinced we are equal. At that moment, i felt true relief. At least i helped, i changed one persons mental attitude. Certain confidence is very essential. So please, work hard. Some people say of black people they are different or backward. You accept im backward, totally wrong. We are same human being. So therefore, with confidence, work hard. That is very important. Ok. [applause] thank you, your holiness. [applause] i want to thank everybody for coming today. Our deepest gratitude for joining us today, your holiness. We have an Audacious Mission of envisioning a World Without violent conflict. At madam secretary, we proudly give but 72 of our daily of our delegate votes to the next president of the United States. Applies cheers and applause] ]firework now, Hillary Clinton talks about the mass shooting in a land of florida that occurred over the weekend. She called for stronger gun laws and a greater outreach to the Muslim Community in the u. S. To prevent future violence. This was held in cleveland, ohio. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome ohio United States senator, Sherrod Brown. [applause] applause]d mr. Brown thank you. What a crowd. And what a moment for cleveland, for our state, and for our country. Thank you so much for being here. This is a bit different kind of rally from when we first heard on friday what this would be about. Bear with us as we, first of all, thank everyone on team wendy for welcoming us today. Thank you. [cheers and applause] sen. Brown our hearts are heavy as we mourn 49 lives lost in the horrific act of terrorism and hate in orlando. Were grateful, as we always are, especially today, especially this weekend, to the First Responders whose bravery saved lives. [applause] sen. Brown we continue to keep the Law Enforcement still investigating and the medical personnel at orlando hospitals carrying for the injured, we keep them in our thoughts. Ohio stands united with the people of orlando. We stand united with the Lgbt Community worldwide. [cheers and applause] sen brown we stand united with our entire country. We stand together with people of all faiths. With muslims, with christians, with jews, with hindus, with people of all faiths. [applause] sen. Brown our president said yesterday, an attack on any american is an attack on all of us. [applause] sen. Brown our country, all of us individually, our country together must not let this, or any other heinous act of terror, divide us ever. [applause] sen. Brown we know america is strongest when were united. Now is the time to unite behind smart, effective strategies to go after terrorism, wherever it exists, and to keep america safe at home and abroad. All, all while upholding the values that made the United States of america the greatest country on earth. [cheers and applause] sen. Brown now is the time, beginning sunday, yesterday. Now is the time, now it is past time to finally muster the political courage to say, enough is enough. [applause] Sherrod Brown now is past time to pass commonsense laws to keep guns out of the hands of terrorists and out of the hands of violent criminals. [cheers and applause] sen. Brown sundays violence was fueled by hatred. Hatred which has no place in our country. As we watched the news in horror yesterday, my wife connie and i could not help but remember how very different we felt almost exactly a year ago. We stood on the steps of clevelands city hall, celebrating the historic Marriage Equality decision. [cheers and applause] Sherrod Brown that day, we joined a community of lgbt americans and our straight allies in one joyful celebration. Today we want our lgbt friends and neighbors to know that america stands with you in your grief and your outrage just as we stood with you in celebration a year ago. [applause] sen. Brown understand, you are not alone, straight or gay, you are not alone. We are with you and we will not tolerate hate in our country, period. [cheers and applause] sen. Brown while we grieve standing here at team wendy, im reminded of the resilience of our american spirit. Marjorie and dan moore experienced the worst tragedy any parents can imagine with the loss of their daughter, wendy. But they took their grief and they turned it into action to protect other daughters and sons with the equipment that you all in this plant make here in cleveland, ohio. In doing so, in doing so, they and everyone at team wendy create good manufacturing jobs, contribute to our local community, and save lives. And what is better than that . [applause] Sherrod Brown this is the american spirit. These are our values, values that we see every single day in Hillary Clinton. [cheers and applause] Sherrod Brown these are values that i saw from a distance and then beginning in 2007, when i came to the senate, and had the pure good luck of having my office right across the hall from senator clinton from new york, right across the hall for those couple of years in 2007 and 2008, these were the values that i see in hillary, these are the values i know in hillary, and these are the values that i trust in Hillary Clinton. [cheers and applause] sen. Brown Hillary Clinton has the wisdom, Hillary Clinton has the resolve to keep our country safe and the conviction and the strength to refuse to let america be intimidated by terror. She has the courage to fight for commonsense laws to protect americans from gun violence, she has the compassion to stand with lgbt americans and all americans who are the target of hate and violence, and she has the strength to unite americans to fight back against hate and violence with tolerance and love. [applause] Sherrod Brown now more than ever, america need as commander in chief with the strength, with the experience, with the wisdom to unite us, to unite us by appealing to our shared values, not appealing to our fears. [applause] sen. Brown i believe Hillary Clinton is that leader. I trust Hillary Clinton to be that leader of our great country. With that, its my honor to introduce the former first lady, the senator, the secretary of state and the most qualified person to run for president of the United States in my lifetime, Hillary Rodham clinton [cheers and applause] ms. Clinton thank you thank you all very much. Thank you. Thank you all. Thank you. Im absolutely delighted to be back in cleveland and be here at the industrial innovation center. I have had a chance to learn about the great work you do here. I especially want to applaud team wendy for everything you do to protect our troops, First Responders. [cheers and applause] ms. Clinton and others from traumatic brain injury. It is so important that we continue to support those who protect us. [crowd chanting we want hillary] ms. Clinton thank you. Thank you all. [cheers and applause] ms. Clinton it is good to be back in cleveland. I can tell you that. [cheers and applause] ms. Clinton i want to thank your extraordinary senator, Sherrod Brown for [cheers and applause] ms. Clinton for his leadership, for that very kind and generous introduction. You are very fortunate to have him representing you. I want to thank your congresswoman, marcia fudge. [cheers and applause] ms. Clinton who is both indomitable and indefatigable. Shes such a tenacious advocate for the people she represents. I want to acknowledge the mayor, mayor jackson, who is here. County executive. And i particularly want to recognize the passing of george voinovich. He devoted his life to serving the people of ohio, as mayor of cleveland, as governor and senator, and we send our prayers and sympathy to his family. I also want to thank dan moore, the owner and founder of this company and team wendy, for his belief in cleveland, for his commitment to create jobs. I cant wait to work with him to do more of what he has accomplished here. [applause] ms. Clinton you know, originally i had intended to come to cleveland under very different circumstances. We are heading into a general election that could be the most consequential of our lifetime. But today is not a day for politics. On sunday, americans will go up to a nightmare that has become mindnumbingly familiar. Another act of terrorism in a place no one expected. A madman filled with hate, with guns in his hands, and just a horrible sense of vengeance and vindictiveness in his heart. Apparently, consumed by rage against lgbt americans and by extension, the openness and diversity that defines our american way of life. We will learn more about the killer in the days to come. We know that he pledged allegiance to isis, that they are now taking credit and that part of their strategy is to radicalize individuals and encourage attacks against the United States, even if they are not coordinated with isis leadership. But theres a lot we still dont know. Including what other mix of motives drove him to kill. The more we learn about what happened, the better well be able to protect our people going forward. In the days ahead, we will also learn more about the many lives he viciously cut short. Many of them young people just starting out in their lives. They were travel agents and pharmacy techs, College Students and Amusement Park workers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, and they had one thing in common. They all had a lot more to give. We should take a moment today amid our busy lives to think about them, to pray for everyone who was killed, for the wounded, those who are fighting to regain their lives and futures, for our First Responders who walked into danger one more time. As a mother, i cant imagine what those families are going through. But lets also remember the other scenes we saw on sunday. We saw the faces of some of those First Responders who rushed into danger and tried to save as many people as they could. We saw survivors like chris hanson who risked their lives to help others. People gathering outside hospitals to comfort anxious family members waiting for news of their loved ones, and waiting too to learn more about what they could do to make sure this never happened again. Religious leaders condemning hate and appealing for peace. People lining up to donate blood. Americans refusing to be intimidated or divided. Yesterday i called the mayor of orlando and offered my support and my appreciation for the leadership that he and the other officials have shown. This is a moment when all americans need to stand together. No matter how many times we endure attacks like this, the horror never fades. The murder of innocent people breaks our hearts. Tears at our sense of security. And makes us furious. Now we have to steel our resolve to respond. And thats what i want to talk to you about. How we respond. The orlando terrorist may be dead, but the virus that poisoned his mind remains very much alive. And we must attack it with clear eyes, steady hands, unwavering determination and pride in our country and our values. [cheers and applause] ms. Clinton i have no doubt, i have no doubt we can meet this challenge if we meet it together. Whatever we learn about this killer, his motives in the days ahead, we know already the barbarity we face from radical jihadists is profound. In the middle east isis is attempting a genocide of religious and ethnic minorities. They are slaughtering muslims who refuse to accept their medieval ways. They are beheading civilians, including executing lgbt people. They are murdering americans and europeans, enslaving, torturing and raping women and girls. In speeches like this one, after paris, brussels and San Bernardino, i have laid out a plan to defeat isis and the other radical jihadist groups in the region and beyond. The attack in orlando makes it even more clear, we cannot contain this threat, we must defeat it. And the good news is that the Coalition Effort in syria and iraq has made recent gains in the last month. So we should keep the pressure on ramping up the air campaign, accelerating support for our friends fighting to take and hold ground, and pushing our partners in the region to do even more. We also need continued american leadership, to help resolve the political conflicts that fuel isis recruitment efforts. But as isis loses actual ground in iraq and syria, it will seek to stage more attacks and gain stronger foot holds wherever it can, from afghanistan to libya to europe. The threat is metastasizing. We saw this in paris and we saw it in brussels. We face a twisted ideology and poisoned psychology that inspires the socalled lone wolves, radicalized individuals who may or may not have contact and direction from any formal organization. So, yes, efforts to defeat isis on the battlefield must succeed. But it will take more than that. [applause] ms. Clinton we have to be just as adaptable and versatile as our enemies. As president , i will make identifying and stopping lone wolves a top priority. I will put a Team Together from across our government, the entire government, as well as the private sector, and communities, to get on top of this urgent challenge. And i will make sure our Law Enforcement and intelligence professionals have all the resources they need to get the job done. As we do this, there are three areas that demand attention. First, we and our allies must work hand in hand to dismantle the networks that move money and propaganda and arms and fighters around the world. [applause] clinton we have to stem the flow. Is only way we can do this our partners,h strengthening our alliances, not weakening them, or walking away from them. Second, here at home we must harden our own defenses. We have to do more to support our First Responders, Law Enforcement and Intelligence Officers who do incredible work every day at great personal risk to keep our country safe. [applause] ms. Clinton i have seen firsthand how hard their job is and how well they do it. In orlando, at least one Police Officer was shot in the head. Thankfully his life was saved by a kevlar helmet, something folks here at team wendy know a lot about. [applause] sen. Clinton its often been said that our Law Enforcement, our intelligence agencies, our First Responders have to be right 100 of the time. The terrorists only have to be right once. What a heavy responsibility. These men and Women Deserve both our respect and gratitude and they deserve the right tools and resources and training. Too often state and local officials cant get access to intelligence from the federal government that would help them do their jobs. We need to change that. We also need to work with local Law Enforcement and Business Owners on ways to protect vulnerable socalled soft targets. Like night clubs and shopping malls and hotels and movie theaters and schools and houses of worship. Now, i know a lot of americans are asking how it was possible that someone already on the f. B. I. s radar could have still been able to commit an attack like the one in orlando. And what more we can do to stop fromhing like this happening again. Well, we have to see what the investigation covers. It are things that should and can be done to improve our ability to prevent, we must do them. We already know we need more resources for this fight. The professionals keep us safe will be the first to say we need better intelligence to discover and disrupt terrorists plots before they can be carried out. That is why i proposed an intelligent search to bolster a capabilities across the lord with appropriate safeguards here at home. Even as we make sure our Security Officials get the tools they need to prevent attacks, it is essential that we stop terrorists from getting the tools they need to carry out attacks. [applause] ms. Clinton and that is especially true when it comes to assault weapons like those used in orlando, San Bernardino. [applause] ms. Clinton now, i believe place onf war have no our streets. We may have our disagreement about gun safety regulations but we should be able to agree on essential things. If the fbi is watching you for a suspected terrorists link, you should not be able to just go buy a gun with no questions asked. [applause] ms. Clinton you should not be able to exploit loopholes and evade criminal background checks by buying online or at a gun show. [applause] ms. Clinton yes, if you are too dangerous to get on a plane, you are too dangerous to buy a gun in america. [applause] ms. Clinton i know some will say that assault weapons and background checks are totally separate issues, having nothing to do with terrorism. Well, in orlando and San Bernardino, terrorists used weapons. Used to the same weapon children inittle sandy hook. We have to make it harder for people who shared not have those weapons of war. That may not stop every shooting or every terrorist attack, but it will stop them and save lives and it will protect our First Responders. [applause] sen. Clinton i want you to know i am not going to stop fighting for these kinds of provisions. The third area that demands attention is preventing radicalization and countering effort by isis and other International Terrorist networks to recruit in the United States and europe. For starters, it is long past time for the saudis, kuwaitis and others to stop their citizens from funding extremist organizations. [applause] ms. Clinton and they should stop supporting radical schools and mosques around the world that have sent too many young people on a path toward extremism. We also have to use all our keep capabilities to counter jihadist propaganda online. This is something i spent a lot of time on at the state department. As president i will work with our great Tech Companies to step up our game and we had to do a better job intercepting isis is communication, tracking and analyzing social media posts. As well as promoting credible voices who can provide and there is more to do. [applause] do clinton more to offline as well. Since 9 11, Law Enforcement agencies have worked hard to build relationships from Muslim American communities. Millions of peaceloving muslims live, work and raise their families across america. [applause] ms. Clinton and they are the most likely to recognize the insidious effects of radicalization before it is too late and the best position to help us block it. We should be intensifying context in those communities, not scapegoating or isolating them. [applause] ms. Clinton last year, i visited a Pilot Program in minneapolis that helps parents, teachers, Mental Health professionals and others recognize signs of radicalization in young people and work with Law Enforcement to intervene before it is too late. I have also met with local leaders pursuing innovative approaches in los angeles and other places. We need more efforts like that in more cities across america. And as the director of the fbi who has pointed out we should avoid eroding trust in that community which will only make Law Enforcement jobs more difficult. Inflammatory antimuslim rhetoric and threatening to ban the families and friends of Muslim Americans as well as millions of muslim businesspeople and tourists hurts the vast majority of muslims who terror. Edom and hate saying we have to start special surveillance because of their religion, it is no coincidence that hate crimes against american muslims and mosques have tripled after paris and San Bernardino. That is wrong and dangerous. It plays right into the terrorist hands. As i have said before, none of us can close our eyes to the fact that we face enemies who use their distorted version of islam to justify slaughtering innocent people. The would take us all back to the stone age if they could. An attack on any american is an attack on all americans. [applause] clinton and i want to say lgbt peoplethe grieving today in florida and across the country, you have millions of allies who will always have your back. [applause] ms. Clinton and i am one of them. [applause] ms. Clinton from stonewall to laramie and now orlando, we have seen too many examples of how the struggles to live freely, openly and without fear has been met by violence. We have to stand together, be proud together. There is no better refute to the terrorists that are open, diverse societies and asset in a struggle against terrorism, none the liability. It makes us stronger and more resistant to radicalization and this raises a larger point about the future of our country. America is strongest when we all believe that we have a stake in our country and our future. This vision has sustained us from the beginning. The belief that yes, we are all created equal and the journey we have made to turn that into reality over the course of our history, that we are not a land of winners and haves, that we all should the opportunity to live up to our godgiven potential and we have a responsibility to help others do so as well. [applause] ms. Clinton you see as i look at american history, i see this has always been a country of we, not me. We stand together because we are stronger together. E Pluribus Unum one, out of many, one has it up through the one has seen us through the darkest chapters of our history. Ever since 13 wobbling colonies put aside their disagreements and united, because they realized they were going to rise together or fall separately. Generation after generation has fought and marched and organize to widen the circle of dignity and opportunity, ending slavery, securing and expanding the right to vote, throwing open the doors of education, building the greatest middleclass the world has ever seen we are stronger when more people can participate in our democracy. [applause] ms. Clinton and we are stronger share in the can rewards of our economy and contributes to our community. When we lift each other up instead of tearing each other down. We have overcome a lot together and we will overcome the threat of terror and radicalization and all of our other challenges. Here in ohio and across america, i have listened to people talk about the problems that keep you up at night. The bonds that hold us together as communities, as one national community, are strained by an economy with too much inequality into little upward mobility, by social and political divisions that have diminished our trust in each other and our confidence in our shared future. Well, i have heard that. And i want you to know as your president , i will work every day to break down all the Barriers Holding you back and keeping us apart. We will get an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top. We will forge a new sense of connectedness and shared responsability to each other and our nation. And finally [applause] ms. Clinton finally, let us remind us all i remember, i remember how it felt and the day after 9 11 and i bet many of you do as well. All walks of life rally together with a sense of common purpose on september the 12th and on the days and weeks and months that followed. We had each others backs. I was a senator from new york. A republican president , the republican governor and a republican mayor. We did not attack each other. We worked with each other to protect our country and to rebuild our city. [applause] ms. Clinton president bush went to a mosque just six days later to send a message of unity and solidarity to anyone who wanted to take out their anger on our muslim neighbors or fellow citizens, he said, that should not and that will not stand in america. It is time to get back to the spirit of those days. The spirit of 9 12. Lets make sure we keep looking to the best of our country, within each of us, democratic and republican president s have risen to the occasion in the face of tragedy. That is what we are called to do, my friends. Im so confident and optimistic that is exactly what we will do. Thank you also much. [applause] [cheers and applause] hi madam secretary, we proudly give 72 of our delegate votes to the next president of the United States. [applause] [fireworks] applause]d announcer cspans washington journal, live it every day with music and policy issues that impact you. Ofs morning, three Members Congress join us to discuss the Mass Shootings in orlando over the weekend. Representative eric staal well, representative of the committee on cia talks about the role of intelligence. Then, the chair of the homeland oversight subcommittee, pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry on Homeland Security and domestic terrorism issues. Delaware, tor from discusses threats to u. S. Security. Be sure to watch cspans washington journal beginning live at 7 00 a. M. Eastern this morning. Join the discussion. Trumpcer that donald called for a temporary ban on immigrants from where terrorism is prevalent. His remarks are response to some to sundays mass shooting in orlando. He spoke to supporters in new hampshire. Ladies and gentlemen, the next president of the United States, donald j. Trump. [applause] mr. Trump thank you everybody. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for joining me today. This was going to be a speech on Hillary Clinton and all of the bad things that we all know is going on. And, especially how poorly she would do as president in these very, very troubled times of radical islamic terrorism. Even her former secret service agent, who has seen her under pressure times of stress has stated she lacks the temperament and integrity to be the president. Be plenty of opportunities to discuss these important issues at a later time and i will deliver that speech very, very soon. But today, there is only one thing to discuss. The growing threat of terrorism inside of our borders. On the pulse nightclub in orlando, florida, terrorist strike on our soil since september 11. In, the worst mass shooting in our countrys history. I mean, just hard to believe. So many people dead. So many people gravely injured. So much carnage. Such a disgrace. The horror is beyond description. Of these wonderful people are totally devastated and they will be forever. Likewise, our whole nation into indeed, the the whole world is devastated. We express our deepest sympathies to the victims, the wounded, and their families. We mourn as one people for our nations loss and pledge our support to any and all who need it. I would like to ask now that well observe a moment of silence for the victims of this attack. [no audio] thank you. Our nation stands together in solidarity with the members of orlandos lb Lgbt Community. They have been through something that nobody could ever experience. This is a very dark moment in americas history. A radical islamic terrorist targeted the nightclub not only because he wanted to kill americans but in order to execute gay and lesbian citizens because of their sexual orientation. It is a strike at the heart and soul of who we are as a nation. It is an assault on the ability of free people to live their lives, love who they want, and express their identity. It is an attack on the right of every single american to live in peace and safety in their own country. We need to respond to this attack in america as one United People with force, purpose, and determination but the current politically correct response cripples our ability to talk and think and act clearly. We are not acting clearly. We are not talking clearly. We have got problems. Smart, ont get tough and fast, we are not going to have our country anymore. There will be nothing left. The killer, whose name i will not use or ever say, was born in , of afghan parents, who immigrated to the United States. His father published support for the Afghan Taliban and, a regime who murders those who do not share the their radical views. The father said he was running for president of afghanistan. The bottom line is that the only reason the killer was in america was because we allowed his family to come here. That is a fact and it is a fact that we need to talk about. We have a dysfunctional immigration system which does not permit us to know who we left who we let into our country and it does not permit us to protect our sister our citizens properly. That will president , not change over the next four years. Administration that will not change. But if i get in there, it is going to change quickly. We are going to in competent to just the opposite. Believe me. [applause] thank you. And more, ople dead ultimately, and dozens more wounded, we cannot afford to talk around issues anymore. We have to address these issues head on. I called for a ban after san are saying but many that i was right to do so and is temporary, ause we must find out what is going on. It will be lifted this man when we are in a position to properly and perfectly screen these people coming into our country. They are pouring in and we dont know what we are doing. The immigration laws of the United States give the president powers to suspend entry into the country of any class of persons. Any class it really is president forthe the interest of the United States and it is as he or she deems appropriate. Hopefully, it is he in this case. [applause] i will use this power to. Rotect the American People when i elected, i will suspend immigration from areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, europe, or our allies. Until we fully understand how to end these threats. After a full [applause] thank you. By the way, we have no choice. After full and partial and long assessments, we will develop a responsible immigration policy that serves the interests and values of america. [applause] allowcannot continue to thousands upon thousands of people to pour into our country, many of whom have the same process as this savage killer. Many of the principles of radical islam are incompatible with western values and institutions. [applause] this. Ember radical islam is antiwoman, antigay, and antiamerican. [applause] i refuse to allow americans america to become a place where gay people, christian people, jewish people are targets of persecution and intimidation by radical islamic preachers of hate and violence. [applause] this is not just a National Security issue. It is a qualityoflife issue. If we want to protect the quality of life for all americans, women and children, gay and straight, jews and christians, and all people, we need to tell the truth about radical islam and we need to do it now. [applause] truth, eed to tell the also, about how radical islam is coming to our shores. It is coming. With these people it is coming. We are importing radical islam through a failed immigration system and through an Intelligence Community held back i our president. Even our own fbi director has admitted that we cannot effectively check the backgrounds of people we are letting into america. All of the september 11 hijackers were issued visas. Somali refugees in minnesota have tried to join isis. The boston bombers came here through political asylum. Shooter in San Bernardino, again, whose name i will not mention, was the child of immigrants from pakistan and he brought his wife from saudi arabia through another one of our easily exploited visa programs. Immigration from afghanistan into United States has increased nearly fivefold in just one year. 99 rding to pew research, of the people in afghanistan support oppressive sharia law. , and that is more just the way it is, from other countries in the region. They share these oppressive views and values. We want to remain a free and open society. If we do, we have to control our borders. We have to control them now. [applause] yet Hillary Clinton, four months, and despite so many attacks, repeatedly refused to even say the words radical islam until i challenged her yesterday and guess what, she will probably say them. She sort of has said them, but lets see what happens. She really has no choice. She has really been forced and she has been forced to say these words. She supports so much of what is wrong and what is wrong with this country and what is going wrong this country and our borders. She has no clue what radical islam is and she wont speak honestly about it if she does, know. T, no her continuing reluctance to name the enemy broadcasts we this across the entire world. Weakness. I dont know if you know this but just a few weeks before san , hillaryos slaughter clinton explain her refusal to say the words radical islam. Here is what she said. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism. That is Hillary Clinton. So she says the solution is to ban guns. They try that in france, which has among the toughest gun laws anywhere in the world, and 130 people were brutally murdered by islamic terrorists in cold blood. Plan is to disarm lawabiding americans, abolishing the Second Amendment and leaving only the bad guys with guns. No good. Not going to happen. [applause] she wants to take away americans guns and admit the very people who want to slaughter us. Let them come into the country. Let them come in. Let them have all the fun they want. I will be meeting with the nra, which has given me their earliest endorsement in a howidential race to discuss to ensure the americans have the means to protect themselves in this age of terror. I will be always defending the Second Amendment. [applause] thank you. Hillaryom line is that supports policies that bring the threat of radical islam into america and allow it to grow overseas. Hillary clintons catastrophic immigration plan will bring vastly more radical islam and immigration into this country, threatening not only parses i80 but our entire not only our society but our entire way of life. When it comes to radical islam, ignorance is deadly. The Obama Administration with the support of Hillary Clinton and others has also damaged our security by restraining our intelligence. We have no intelligence gathering information. We need this information so badly. And he stopped it. We dont have the support of the Law Enforcement system because obama is not letting them do their jobs. They are not being allowed to do their job. They can do it well, better than anybody. We need a new leader, we need a new leader fast. [applause] thank you. They have put Political Correctness above common sense, above safety and above all else. I refuse to be politically correct. [applause] i want to do the right thing. I want to straighten things out, and i want to make America Great again. [applause] the days of deadly ignorance will and. And they will end soon, if im elected. As president , i will give our Intelligence Community, Law Enforcement, and military the tools they need to prevent terrorist attacks. They dont have those tools now. We need an intelligence gathering system second to none. That includes better cooperation between state, local, and federal officials, and with our allies. I will have an attorney general, a director of national intelligence, and the secretary of defense who will know how to fight the war on radical islamic terrorism. [applause] and they will have the support that they need to get the job done right. Not like it is right now. [applause] ensure the American People are provided the information they need to understand the threat. The Senate Subcommittee on immigration has identified hundreds of immigrants charged with terrorist activities inside the United States since september 11. Nearly a year ago, the subcommittee asked president toma and Homeland Security provide the immigration history of all terrorists inside the United States. These departments refused to comply. Nobody even knows why. They refused to comply. President obama must release the full and complete immigration histories of all individuals implicated in terrorist activities of any kind since september 11. So important. The public has a right to know how these people got here, how they came onto this great land, why are they here . [applause] we have to screen applicants arenow whether they affiliated with or supporting radical groups and believes. We have to control the amount of future immigration into this country and we have to prevent large pockets of radicalization from forming inside america. Not complicated. Ry just think of this every single event, even a single individual, can be devastating and all you have to look at what happened in orlando and other cases. Just a single event. Can you imagine what they will do in large groups which we are allowing to come here . Truly, our president doesnt know what he is doing. He has failed us and he has under hisbadly and leadership, this situation will not get any better. It will only get worse. Each year, the United States permanently admits 100,000 immigrants from the middle east and many more from muslim countries outside of the middle east. Our government has been admitting evergrowing numbers year after year without any effective plan for our own security. Wastons state department in charge of admissions and the admission process for people applying to enter from overseas. Having learned nothing from these attacks, she now plans to massively increase admissions without a screening plan, including a 500 increase in Syrian Refugees coming into our country. Tell me, how stupid is that . This could be a better, bigger, more horrible version than the legendary trojan horse ever was. Under the clinton plan, you would be admitting hundreds of thousands of refugees from the middle east with no system to them orsystem to vet present the radicalization of the children. Our are trying to take over children and convinced them how wonderful isis is and how wonderful islam is and we dont know what is happening. The burden is on Hillary Clinton to tell us why she believes immigration from these dangerous countries should the increased without any effective system to screen. So why dont we have an effective screening system . We dont. We are being left that. The burden is on Hillary Clinton to tell us why we should admit anyone into our country who supports violence of any kind against gay and lesbian americans. The burden is on Hillary Clinton to tell us how she will pay for it. Her plan will cost hundreds of millions of dollars longterm. Wouldnt this be better spent for ourng America Current population, including the many poor people already living here . Cities, inner cities, poverty all over, and this is how we are spending billions of dollars. We have to stop the tremendous flow of Syrian Refugees into the United States. We dont know who they are. They have no documentation. We dont know what they are planning and we wont unless we have proper supervision and proper leadership. In which case, they are out of here. [applause] what i want is common sense. I want a mainstream immigration policy that promotes american values. That is a choice i put before the American People. Policytream immigration designed to benefit america or Hillary Clintons radical immigration policy designed to benefit politically correct special interests. That is all that is. Weve got to get smart and tough and vigilant and weve got to do it now. Because later is too late. The media talks about homegrown radicalism amic and that is a very important term, a term the president refuses to use and the networks that nurture it our imports from overseas whether you like it or whether you dont like it. Peoplere many radicalize already inside our country as a result of poor policies but the whole point is that we will be beh much and it will easier to deal with on current keepems if we dont bringing people who add to the problem and that is what they are doing. We are letting hundreds of thousands of people come in and all they are doing is adding to this incredible problem we have. The controversial mosque attended by the boston bombers had as its founder and immigrant from overseas charged in an assassination plot. And, amazingly, in orlando, was the child of an immigrant father who supported one of the most repressive regimes honors. Why would we admit people who support violent hatred . Hillary clinton can never claim to be a friend of the Gay Community as long as she continues to support immigration policies that bring islamic extremists to our country and gays, andss women, everyone else who doesnt share their views. [applause] it both ways. Ave she cant claim to be supportive of these communities while trying to increase the number of people coming in who want to oppress these same communities. How does this immigration make our lives better . How does this immigration make our country better . Clinton want to bring people in in vast numbers who reject our values . Explain. Who is really the friend of women and the lb gt Lgbt Community . Donald trump with actions or Hillary Clinton with words . I will tell you the better friend is and someday, i believe bigly. Ll be proven out [applause] way, the Lgbt Community what has happened to them is just so sad and to be thinking about where their policies are currently with this administration is a disgrace to that community. Clinton wants to allow radical islamic terrorists to pour into our country. They enslave women and murder gays. I dont want them in our country. [applause] immigration is a privilege and we should not let anyone into this country who does not support our communities. All of our communities. America has already admitted four times more immigrants and any country on earth, anybody in the world, four times more at least because we dont even know who is coming in and we continue to admit millions more with no checks or scrutiny. Not surprisingly, wages for our work is havent budged in almost 20 years. You wonder why we get this tremendous support . Why ive gotten more votes than a new in any primary in the history of the party . Look at your security and the wages. For 18 years, they have been stagnant. Whether it is a matter of National Security or financial security, we cant afford to keep on going like this. Andwn 19 trillion in debt no longer have any options. Communities are ready for relief. This is not an act of offense against anyone. It is an act of defense. I want us, all of us, to work together. We have to form a partnership with our muslim communities. We have muslim communities that are great and we have to form that partnership. So importantly, they have to work with us and cooperate with Law Enforcement and turn it towards people who they know are bad and they have to do it forth with. Schools andx our bridges and our jobs market is going to rocket again. I want every american to succeed , including muslims but the muslims have to work with us. They know what is going on, they know that he was bad, they knew the people in San Bernardino were bad but they didnt turn them in. And we had death and destruction. Hillary clinton wants to empty out the treasury to bring people into the country. That includes individuals who preach hate. I want to protect our citizens, all of our citizens, the terrorist attack on pulse nightclub demands a full and complete investigation into every single aspect of the assault. In San Bernardino, people who know what was going on, they knew exactly, but the use the excuse of racial profiling for not reporting it. They said we thought so but we didnt want to use racial profiling. Which was probably an excuse given by their lawyer so they dont get in trouble. We need to know what the killer discussed with his relatives, parents, friends, and associates. We need to know if he was affiliated with any radical mosques or radical activists and what, if any, is their immigration status. We have to know fast. We need to know if he traveled anywhere and who he traveled with. We need to know and we need to make sure every single last person involved in this plan, including anyone who knew something but didnt tell us is brought to justice so when people know what is going on and dont tell us and we havent attacked and people die, these people have to have sequences consequences. [applause] america must do more to protect its citizens, especially people who are potential the use of crimes potential victims of crimes based on their backgrounds. It also means we must change our foreign policy. The decision to overthrow the regime in libya, then pushing for the overthrow of the regime in syria among other things, without plans for the day after, have created space for isis to expand like nobody has ever seen before. These actions, along with our disastrous iran deal have stopped us from working in partnership with our muslim allies in the region. That is why our new goal must be to defeat islamic terrorism, not nationbuilding. No more nationbuilding. It is never going to work. We have spent almost 5 trillion over the years on trying to nation build in the middle east. It has been a complete and total disaster. We are further away now than we were 15 years ago. Mission wasor nato Hillary Clintons war in libya. That mission helped unleash isis on a new continent. Nato needs to change its focus and stop terrorism. We have to focus on terrorism and we have to stop terrorism. Since ive raise that criticism and it is ok ive got no credit for it nato has since announced a new initiative, front page of the wall street journal, focused on just that. The wholest unite civilized world in the fight against islamic terrorism. [applause] pretty much like we did with communism during the cold war. We have tried it. President obamas way doesnt work. He gave the world his apology tour, we got isis and many other problems in return. Remember the famous apology tour. I would like to them like to conclude by expressing solidarity with the people of orlando who have come under this horrific attack. I pledge to protect and defend all americans who live inside our borders. Wherever they come from, wherever they were born, i dont care, all americans living here and following our laws, not other laws, will be protected. [applause] thank we are going to be tough. We are going to be smart. We will do it right. America will be a tolerant society. Safeca will also be a society. We will protect our borders at home. We will defeat isis overseas. We have no choice. We will assure that every parent in peace andparent safety. We will make america richer again, safe again, and great again. Thank you. Thank you very much. [applause] thank you. Appreciate it. Madam secretary, we probably gave 72 of our delegate votes to the next president of the United States. The dalai lama led assignment or air for the victims of the orlando shooting yesterday and nonviolence. On this mornings washington tornal we spoke to speak members of congress about the orlando shootings. Immigration and homeland Security Officials testified today about trying to prevent potentiallyys and creating a new injury and exit tracking system. 10 00overage starting at eastern on cspan 3. Dalai lama said the mass shooting the a nightclub in orlando was a very serious tragedy. The spiritual leader, who was in washington, talked about the role of religion and need for nonviolence. Dalai lama it is a very serious tragedy what happened in orlando. Let us have silent prayer. Dalai lama thank you. Although some are quite skeptical about the effects of prayer. [laughter] it has to come through action. Serious action, continuously, despite difficulties, and a lot of obstacles, we cannot lose our determination, our courage and on top of that, some prayer is ok, no harm. Without action, it is just prayer. I am quite skeptical. Thank you. Thank you, everyone for joining us. We are gathered with a heavy heart after this weekends events, but with a conviction that the mission and vision of a World Without violent conflict is more important than ever. I am the president of the United States institute of peace. U. S. Ip was founded by congress 30 years ago with the vision of a World Without violent conflict and dedicated to the proposition that peace is possible, article and essential for our global security. We are very honored to have been able to work with work in partnership with you, your holiness, of bringing a group of 28 youth leaders from 13 Different Countries that are affected by conflict to a dialogue. To talk about what of the ways to find inner peace and compassion, to keep that conviction of peace going, even as you live and work in a troubled world and i think the events in orlando have underscored for us how important that is, globally. Thank you for joining us, and what i would like to do before asking you to make a few comments is show a quick video that gives everybody a sense of those who participated in the dialogues and the importance of that kind of journey to find the inner peace that enables one to go forward. When i read the word, i thought this was a junk mail. This program is different from any i have ever seen. An extraordinary moment where 28 youth leaders from conflict zones around the world came together to be meant toward by the dalai lama meant toward mentored by the dalai lama. I was shaken for about 15 minutes and when his holiness walked in, it was a great moment. When his holiness entered the hall, i felt optimistic. No matter how difficult a bunch of young people who experienced deep tragedy and lived in regions of conflict, and they chose to use that energy, and turn it into something constructive. In tunisia, we are facing an identity crisis as in people are not hopeful, anymore. Forgiveness is signs of strength. How can we utilize friendship or trust with leaders like you to bring peace between the tribes in my country . I feel empowered that the dalai lama what he said was how encouraged he was by meeting with these young people. Not only his holiness, but the people from this program, they all inspire me. After meeting his holiness, there is a kind of energy. It is us who should build our country, who should make changes from the inside. Determined, passionate, committed, action oriented leaders who are building peace and have been inspired by our two days. Very very encouraging. I feel like my school and my spirits have been lifted. He has so much confidence in us, in ways our actions can make a difference. We believe in our ability to make significant changes in our communities. I will share the compassion and love he has shared with us in my community. [applause] your holiness, that was a powerful and transformative dialogue that we shared with you with some remarkable leaders from many difficult countries. We are joined today with two of our youth leaders, victoria and michael. We have talked a lot about your vision of the 21st century as being the century that is free from violent conflict. It is very much a usip vision and mission as well. Who will be the builders of peace of the next century, and we are honored to have you here today, with us, to continue the dialogue and continue that search, and we will ask our youth leaders to make a few comments, but we would like to first ask you to share some reflections with us. Over the years, i have had serious discussion with scientists and educationists. I want to share one point. A scientist mentioned, according to an experiment, a very young infant child, only six months old. Look language has not yet developed. The infant child showing it was shown two cartoons, one with two children helping each other, another with two children with negative attitude. The second cartoon showed the same child with negative personality. So then, these scientists concluded that human nature is more compassionate. When i heard that, i really feel this real hope. When you have trouble, i think of that infant child. Everyone has some type of problem. The experience of problems is our own problems of experience due to problems of fear. Mental attitude makes a big difference. Like any system, if you are in a system, strong if your mental attitude is stable and healthy, then some disturbances, fear, but you will not disturb the deeper level of your mind, so that is very helpful to maintain your physical health. I met children yesterday as they came through airports. My friend said judging your face, it looks early 60s and he asked me what is your secret and i told him, it is my secret, i do not share. [laughter] then i told him, my life at 16, i lost my own freedom. Age 24, i lost my own country. A lot of sad situations, a lot of problems. Also a lot of work to preserve our culture. So many problems. Inside tibet, we are sort of hoping a lot of hope on me. My mental level is quite peaceful. Peace of mind my mind is quite sharp. Many friends and many scientists appreciate the sharpness of my mind. I can reach a deeper level of peace, so i told him, that is my secret, peace of mind. 7 billion human beings are the same human beings. I have never considered being something special. We are the same. Mentally, emotionally, physically, we are the same. Someone who can carry the practice, why not kindle that . Such a desperate moment we all have the same potential so therefore, peace of mind is very useful for individual interests. A more compassionate mine. Some people feel compassion is good for others, but not necessarily one person. It is totally wrong. Compassion one time in germany, i was meeting one late evening and i walked into the road out of habit, then i met some people crossing the street. I am usually just smiling. Passing through the street, one young lady came through and as usual, i smiled. That lady seemed to develop some suspicious, why is this person, this strangely dressed person smiling . So, she sort of looks that shows my compassionate attitude, myself, happy, easy, but this other person, that lady, got more suspicion. The practice of compassion. The benefit goes to yourself, and constantly goes that way, you really get peace of mind, and then the matter how troublesome your life, you can keep peace of mind and that brings healthy and more Peaceful Mind with a lot of friends. We need friends. A compassionate mind is very helpful and healthy and creates friendship. Friendship based entirely on trust, trust based on the sense of their wellbeing. I really admire these people, showing interest. With your interest, you should implement as i mentioned earlier, you should carry compassion in your own circle,. One individual to share with your own circle, and each then 100 people, then 1000 people, then 10,000 people, that is the way we change humanity. The 7 billion people. I would like to invite michael to say a couple comments and i also want to know, for those who are watching us online or using twitter, that it is dalai dalai lama dalailamausip. One of my heroes went to u. S. Cape town and said each time and strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope and crossing each other from a million Different Centers of energy, those ripples told a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. It was an extraordinary experience for me, to spend time with 28 centers of energy and daring. As a writer, i found individual stories from south sudan and nigeria and afghanistan, but what they hold in common is most impressive. Each, in one way or another, has witnessed horrors, all have refused to be either bystanders were combatants. Instead, they have chosen to be instruments of healing, asserting a common humanity in the midst of conflict. During our time, we saw them develop a sense of community. Those who stand for principal at the beginning can be alone at the beginning. They can work for many years in relative isolation and it was moving to watch these men and women find the shelter of one another. It was also inspiring to watch them be inspired by someone who is known their struggle. If they are ripples of hope, his holiness is a boulder thrown into a pond. I dont think anyone will forget the generosity of his attention, his good humor, and his tireless focus. The participants were interested in the techniques of movement building, but the dalai lamas primary message was spiritual, how the practice of tolerance and compassion requires a healthy mind and body, how a genuine smile, not one you call a diplomatic smile can express respect and build trust. It is hard to describe what happened before us, but for the junk people, it was a graduatelevel seminar in loving love and kindness, a master class in being fully human. I am involved in a lot of think tax think tanks, and they are fine in their own way, but this work by usip is what real influence looked like. I saw the passing of wisdom and passion to the next generation of leaders, leaders of movements, even future leaders of their own countries. They came away changed and i was privileged to witness it, thank you. [applause] we have with us, one of these leaders, two, but first from morocco, who joined us at the conference. Hello. I am from morocco and i worked at a call to culture center, that was created by in 2007, in the largest slum in morocco. In 2003, and 2007, the city of casablanca was shook and my horrific terrorist attacks, and all the terrorists numbers came from. Our center was created in 2007 to give the opportunity to at risk kids and vulnerable youth to become good citizens through art, culture, education and various training and peaceful think and conflict resolution. Then came my experience in our work, and let me share with you what i learned from my experience. My experience helped me look deeper in my soul, sparked new things that did not exist, before, and set the flames that were burning already. By sharing my story with his holiness and youth peace holders, i learned how to share things that terrify me so i can grow, ex
