President trump is again thinking of replacing his director of National Intelligence after repeatedly expressing frustration with dan coates. This as mr. Wolf, we are about to get another update from the governor of louisiana, what we know already at this hour, is that they are already feeling the wind and rain of barrys outer bands down on the louisiana coast, and we know this storm is going to be big, slow moving and very very wet. Barry is forecast to drop more than two feet of water on some parts of this state. Tonight here in lafayette, last minute prep for barrys heavy rains. Were trying to be prepared. Sandbagging their homes. Everybody gets long. Its how we do it here in louisiana. Everybody helps each other out. Slow moving storm system now forecast to bring many hours and many inches of rain. 800,000 people now under a hurricane warning, along the low lying louisiana coastline from south of lafayette to new orleans. 48 hours, potential rainfall consistent rainfall over the city of new orleans. A sustained soaking for an already saturated louisiana. 8 inches fell wednesday morning. In new orleans. Several low lying parishing, worried levees may be breached, have already issued mandatory evacuations, but not the big easy. We are not issuing a voluntary or mandatory evacuation, sheltering in place, is our strategy. The advice, youll need supplies for 72 hours. I have bottled water, i also have generator, i have a portable two portable air conditioners. Barry is expected to pack a triple threat. High rivers, flash flooding, and a storm surge of 2 to 3 feet. Perhaps pushing the Mighty Mississippi to its highest level since 1950. Officials doing all they can, closing flood gates ahead. This could be an unprecedented situation. The number one threat is going to be water, its going to be the flooding and the heavy rainfall. And lafayette in the middle of barrys projected path could see a months worth of rainfall in the space of just a few hours. And that is why here in lafayette, they have prepositioned vehicles like this one. Ready to rescue people from the floods. Thats right, well, President Trump has another acting member of his cabinet as alex acosta announced hes stepping down, a Senior Administration official said the president had been stewing over secretary acostas fate after he was dragged into the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, there may be another top official heading for the exiting. Dan coates, were told the president may be ready to make a change there as well. There wasnt much laboring when it came to the fate of alex acosta, as the president walked the embattled secretary. Alex, i think youll agree, you dont have to do this. He doesnt have to do this. The outgoing labor secretary told reporters he didnt want to be a distraction. Sources tell me and my colleague that prosecutors with the Southern District of new york are not expected to bring any criminal charges against any Trump Organization, executives in connection with the Campaign Finance investigation. That investigation stems from those hush money payments Michael Cohen helped facilitate, with Stormy Daniels and karen mcdougal. The big question higher has been about the reimbursement of these payments to Michael Cohen. Prosecutors have shown in court filings, they paid cohen 420,000. And at the time of the charges against Michael Cohen. Prosecutors said they had improperly classified them on their books as legal expenses. When he went before congress, he informed the congressman, and we just saw the check on the screen there that some of these checks were signed by donald trump. Donald trump jr. And by allen weisselberg, the chief Financial Officer of the organization. He had received immunity for his testimony. His prosecutors were looking into this investigation in january. They had asked to speak to three Trump Organization executives, but then they never followed up on that, and sources tell me and erica, that this investigation then started to grow very quiet, the last time that prosecutors and the Trump Organization had any communication was at least five months ago. So sources say this is all indications. And pretty clear that theyre not going to bring any charges against executives at the Trump Organization in connection with the Campaign Finance investigation. Does this mean the Trump Organization is now out of the woods . No, it doesnt. Theres always the possibility that new information could come to light to reignite an investigation. This isnt the only one that is shadowing around the president and his family, the same u. S. Attorneys office is also investigating the questions around the president s inauguration, that inauguration involves some events at the trump hotel. And his family members were involved in that, so it is not yet over there is the cloud has not been lifted from the Trump Organization, donald trump and his family, at least as it relates to the Campaign Finance investigation involving this hush money payment, that appears to be over. I didnt follow any of that, what irdo know is we have an administration thats corrupt, dishonest and incompetent. I cant follow the specifics, theres so many things that go on with this administration. Its hard to follow, we need to see the president s tax returns, we need to see whats going on with his hotels he owns in washington, these domestic and foreign emoluments that i think hes taking. What we need is to turn the page on this, and get a government thats honest with the American People, theres no scandals and has competency in the administration. What do you think of the reports that the mueller testimony which had been scheduled for next week, public testimony before the judiciary committee, the Intelligence Committee may be delayed. I think its being delayed, the chairman wants it delayed, and i think he wants more time. Which i think is the right thing. I was talking to jamie raskin earlier this week, and he was afraid he wasnt going to have time. I think nadler is going to extend the testimony and give mueller more time to talk. You say it was a good idea for alex acosta to submit his resignation. Does he still need to answer questions involving that sweetheart deal . I think he should. I think its up to congress to determine that, and look at the priorities they need to deal with, him moving on is clearly the right thing to do. The sweetheart deal is not the kind of leader we deserve in our country. And again it comes back to my theme, wolf, we need a new administration thats honest with the American People where theres no scandals, we can take the noise down a little bit and get competent people in these jobs. How are you going to be the secretary of labor when youre dealing with this kind of a scandal . Theres so many issues for the secretary of labor to deal with right now. These are all the officials who serve at the top of the interrupt administration in acting roles whats the Practical Impact of that . Its a dysfunctional administration. Which is similar to how the president handled his businesses. He filed for bankruptcy half a million times. He left people questioning whether he would do business with them again. Hes running his administration in many ways the same way. He wasnt a Business Leader prior to coming to the white house, he was a business promoter. Thats how hes running the white house. Someone like myself who started two companies from scratch, took them public. Thats how you run a business and thats how you should run a white house. I think it makes it challenging for congress to work with this administration, you never know who has any responsibility or authority. Which is one of the reasons the administration hasnt gotten the basics done he promised. Lets talk about immigration. As you know, the president has officially announced that this sunday raids will begin on undocumented immigrants. Originally in tent cities, we got a map of those tent cities. New orleans because of the potential hurricane, thats been delayed. Nine cities have been targeted, including your home state of maryland in baltimore. What do you think of this . I think its terrible, i think its cruel. Its a waste of resources, theres so many issues to deal with with our immigration system. Including passing comprehensive immigration reform. What the president should be doing is putting his shoulder behind that, because thats what this country desperately needs, we need to be doing things to fix whats going on in central america. So we dont have this refugee crisis at the southern border. Thats what we need to do, not engaging in these raids. What they need to know is, they have rights, thats one of the things thats really important, that people understand, they have rights. If someone comes to their home as a result of these trump raids, they dont have to let them in their home. Senator kamala harris, a 2020 president ial candidate like yourself. Shes doubling down on your criticism of joe biden. Watch what she said earlier today on the view. Were on a debate stage and if you have not prepared and youre not ready for somebody to point out a difference of opinion about segregation in our history. Then youre probably not ready. What has changed . What has changed is that our Flood Protection Authority has determined they will close highway 90 which would segregate orleans parish. So venetian isles, as well as lake katherine, receiving that information. I absolutely move forward with a voluntary evacuation. Gateway 90 is expected to close this evening around 6 00 p. M. Does this give residents of those areas enough time to get out . As it relates to these areas, yes, sir. They know where they live, they know they are located outside of the flood protection area. We believe that they will have. Just what is messaged throughout this period. Definitely take precaution as it relates to warnings we have given. The information we have communicated and we know that residents are listening and making moves as they need. As they see fit. Youre also asking residents to shelter in place starting at 8 00 p. M. Central time. Is that still the best option . Absolutely it is. The storm barry was named at hour 22 our evacuation plans start at hour 60. When you talk about and think about time, time was not on our side and so when you factor in time to effectively evacuate over 30,000 people that have expressed a need. Should we call for an evacuation, and also align with our process and procedures as a category 3, which is not something that the city of new orleans is faced with at this time. Its Tropical Storm barry, according to it being named with hour 22. The best option is for people to shelter in place. That is our top priority. Could you be looking at higher rainfall than Hurricane Katrina 14 years ago . What we are faced with as were being told is heavy rain. A slow moving storm. And so what that means is that the storm could possibly sit over the city of new orleans dumping rainfall that is very significant. And thats something that we are prepared for. And absolutely looking closely at. Its the amount of rainfall in short periods of time that really work our drainage system that is in place. And so thatsething that were just remaining focused on. Is the city prepared in the event that the city pumps are overwhelmed or if a levee fails . We in regard to the federal government and the core of engineers, they have expressed significant confidence in the levee protection system. I really have no reason to doubt that. In addition to that, we are absolutely prepared. The waterboard which is our drainage pumping system is working at optimal capacity. We are always focused on infra structure and Infrastructure Improvements in the city of new orleans. Like many of my brother and sister mayors across the United States of america. Theres word tonight that the House Judiciary Committee is negotiating with the former special counsel Robert Muellers team, to delay his testimony by one week to allow more time tore mueller to testify. Lets dig deeper with our analysts. What are they trying to do . I think any agreement that democrats can make with mueller is probably to their benefit. This is a 448 page report mueller laid out 10 potential instances of obstruction of justice, theres serious concern among democrats at the hill that theyre not going to have time to go through all these instances. They want mueller to pull out the details of the report. Most americans have not read it, but they have agreed to only a two hour time frame for each committee. Thats only four hours total. Two hours if you think about how republicans are not going to want to talk about the report. How are they going to do that . Theres been a lot of panic, theyre looking at a way, if he wants a delay, that means more time with mueller, they want to do it, because they want that testimony. The attorney general previously said the Justice Department would support mueller if he decides to back out from testifying completely. I think mueller understands at this point theres no way hes 5ib8 to testify at some point. Hes made clear he intends to comply with a congressional subpoena. Theres no basis for him to refuse to appear. Bill barrs comments that the attorney general is feeling guilty about the testimony. I agree with rachel that more time is certainly better, but some of the objections were seeing on capitol hill. The nature of those objections are cause for concern. Were hearing that junior members are concerned theyre not going to get a chance to ask questions. That sounds a little like members like theyre getting their television clip. Pulling out the narrative of this important report. This is going to be one of the most important congressional oversight hearings in a generation. Members need to be focused on putting their egos aside and confronting the task at hand. Were learning the officialing at the department of Homeland Security theyre announcing these deportation raids are going to begin this sunday. They suspect that could endanger the entire operation. The report spikes to the indignities and humanity as it relates to them. I think a lot of this is politically driven. The fact is, were going to have this policy to deter people. Im going to appeal to my base of support. Remember what trump has said about them, and its really about demonizing immigrants. Certainly thats not who we are the court blocked that. It should not have been done in the first instance, and wolf, there were when it came to reunificati reunification. Many families were released. And now paul ryan says im not responsible for congress im going to comment on character . He better be out there for a year and a half. He has a hole to dig that is deeper didnt say anything, the heat is off, and now he says, ive had a moment to consider, maybe ill speak what i really thought for two years, enough already. I was going to say, a lot of people have speculated maybe he wants to run for president one day. Hes laying low in wisconsin with his family heres the thing, he didnt speak out when trump was president. Because of that, people say he cant claim to be that person. The president responded today by saying paul ryan was a terrible speaker. Hes a baby, he didnt know what he was doing. The president tried to vas late the insults, paul ryan was a great speaker.
