Those expected protests later today come after a wild weekend that found Trumps Campaign manager facing charges he man handled someone at an event. Yesterday, trump defended his Campaign Manager. Because security at the arena, the police were a little bit lax and he had signs, they had signs up in the area that were horrendous. I give him credit for having spirit. He wanted them to take down the horrible signs. Reporter this is not the first time his Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski is facing charges. A journalist alleges that he grabbed her arm and threw her backwards. He denies the charges. This is all causing the republican chairman Reince Priebus to weigh in saying he thinks Law Enforcement professionals, not campaign professionals should deal with protesters. He will meet with apac and he will meet with republican offici officials. What does he have to do . Does he have to woo these two groups . He has a lot of work to do in the meetings. You see the republican establishment is still very wary of donald trump. They are still having closeddoor meetings trying to figure out how to nominate someone not named donald trump. How they go to the convention and come up with another candidate and there is still a lot of republican officials hoping that donald trump wont get to 1,237 delegates. The magic number to give him the nomination. There is talk about a third party candidate. Still talk about someone who is not running for president emerging as the republican nominee. He has work to do to win over the socalled republican establish. And heading into apac today, he also will face protests there. A lot of people are planning to walk out of his speech. He has drawn a lot of fire for saying he would be neutral in negotiating a mid east peace deal. Will he stand by that pledge when he speaks to apac today . You have to tune in and see what he says. I want to be a fly on the wall in the republican meeting before apac. For the first time on the campaign trail, donald trump always full of bluster, he is actually holding out the possibility he might not come up with the 1,237 to come up with the nomination. Im a little bit short. One of the reasons is we had so many candidates. We started off with 17 candidates. It came down to finally down to three, frankly. You know, there are so many candidates. It is hard to get over that number. It is unfair in a way. Because there are so many candidates and so many are grabbing delegates. Now theyre out. I think i will get over that number. I may get over that number fairly easily. Arizona was unbelievable yesterday. Utah, frankly, was unbelievable the day before. I think we will get over that number. Tremendous spirit about make America Great again. Thats the whole thing. We will make America Great again. I will get over that number. I may get over that number. I may fall short of that number. Whats going on here . It doesnt sound like hes going to make it. It is interesting. Hes right on the bubble here. He needs 1,237 delegates. He is only about halfway there. So certainly there are fewer candidates now. The question is whether donald trump has a ceiling. Can he get more than 50 of the delegates in the remaining contests with a couple candidates left in the race. It is not clear. It was interesting to hear him hedge and all of a sudden suggest it is unfair he needs to win 1,237 to win the nomination. What is interesting, Reince Priebus, the republican chairman came on a few minutes later, and said that it is not unfair to require you get the majority of the delegates. These have always been the rule. Minority of delegates will not speak for the majority of the party. He made it clear that just because you get close, that close isnt good enough. Ultimately, someone needs to secure the majority to get the nomination. Lets talk about it. It is interesting. Lets talk about the democrats here. We have new sound from Bernie Sanders saying something he said many times. How this should not be a coronation because of him for Hillary Clinton. Listen to him. When we began this campaign about ten months ago. The general feeling of the media and pundits is we were looking at a coronation. There was an anointed candidate that would simply and quietly get the democratic nomination. Ten months. Ten months have come and gone. Doesnt look to me like thats the case. It doesnt. It looks like a really wild and exciting election on both sides. An election. Hes in it. He raised a lot of money. He spent a lot of money. Where does he go . He heads west. He will be in contests that are favorable to him. You see utah coming up. Arizona, washington. There are a lot of states coming up that Bernie Sanders may do well in. Right now, hes about 300 delegates behind Hillary Clinton. She has a commanding lead in the race. He will make up ground in the west. The question is will it be enough ground and her lead looks like it may be insurmountable. He could stay in the race for a long time. He has a lot of money. He could start to build momentum and chip away at her lead. He is making the argument that hes going to come into the convention with the momentum having won more of the recent states. With money, he can fight this all the way to the convention, perhaps, and make the argument that hes the guy with momentum. Hes the guy who is winning states. It is worth noting that Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders will campaign in california later this week. Californias primary not until june 7th. Everyone is preparing to fight this for quite some time. A couple of delegates in california. That is an interesting fight on the republican side because of the way they break them down. This is a delegate driven process. This is the first time in a long time people cared about delegates count. The majority of voting delegates in our party choose the nominee. That sounds a lot like he is saying there will be a contested convention. These are really interesting comments from Reince Priebus. For a long time, he said a brokered convention was a far fetched possibility. Now he is saying the opposite and suggested a contested convention is a possibility. Donald trump is hedging a bit on whether he can get to the magic number of 1,237. He said if i can get close, that should be good enough. I should get the nomination if i dont hit the nomination. It is interesting to hear Reince Priebus say no, the minority will not speak for the majority. You need the majority of delegates. Otherwise, you may not get the nomination. It is also worth noting he went on to say he doesnt expect someone who is not running for president to not get the nomination. He thinks ultimately the republican nominee will be donald trump, ted cruz or john kasich. He didnt say if donald trump gets close, that is good enough. He should automatically be the nominee. Trump will outline his middle east policy. He will talk to Republican Leaders. Making his case for why he is their guy. This weekend, he uses these as another reason to blame the media for not blaming the protesters. Exactly. He says why isnt the media calling out those who protest and he certainly is a fan of blaming the media. He continues to do that. As you saw, his Campaign Manager also was accused of laying hands on another protester. Although there was video where it appeared the Campaign Manager grabbed the protester by the collar. Trump says that didnt happen. Here is the antiestablish candidate going before the establishment. He has a steep hill to climb with the republican establishment. A lot are in denial phase as he gets closer to the nomination. You know, Chris Christie came out and endorsed trump a few weeks ago. A few members of the congress endorsed trump. The rest is not rallying to his cause. They are still making plans to try to figure out how to stop him. Making plans for super pacs to spend millions to say anybody but trump.
