You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump Supporters into what i call the basket of deplorables. Right . The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, islamophobic, you name it. But the other basket of people who feel the economy has let them down, Nobody Caress about them. Do you think that she should have said that, joe, basket of deplorables, racists, sexists i think in the last segment someone should she shouldnt have said half or i dont know if she should have said one third or you could put ten people. There have been some deplorable people that even donald trump has had to denounce. We had to force him to denounce david duke and others. But lets understand one thing, she obviously not speaking literally, it was figuratively. And, secondly, this is what you do and say at fundraisers. You are with its almost like being a cheerleader. Its like being with your crowd. And you think this is something, you wait until you get to a republican fundraiser. Youll have the same thing said about liberals, about progressives. This is what people do at fundraisers. But, chris, i have to ask you, though, you remember when donald trump says, you know, said that he was he could stand in the middle of fifth avenue and he got a lot of flak for that. Do you think its similar . Actually, what this reminds me of, this reminds me of mitt romneys 47 comment caught at a fundraiser and it was devastating. I didnt hear this until i was on my way in to do your show often. I dont know that ive ever heard a candidate define voters with such pejoratives. To call supports are names . That could be terminal. Ive heard donald trump and i can give you the clip if you want, ill be glad to send it to you saying i love stupid people. And he was talking about his supporters. He said i love the uneducated. Well, uneducated, stupid. I love the uneducated people. Who calls his supporters uneducated . Who does that . We dont want uneducated people making uneducated decisions like voting for donald trump. So be very careful when you bring that up because that clip is out there and if Hillary Clintons people are smart, theyll play that every day during the campaign. What he did not say is i love Hillary Clintons stupid people, i love the stupid people that support Hillary Clinton. Far different than saying the people that support my opponent are racist and xenophobic and blah, blah, blah. You dont call your own supporters uneducated. John you, youre sitting there awfully quiet. Is this like when president obama talked about bitter people clinging to their weapons . That hurt him. Will this hurt her . The Clinton Campaign is in freefall, dead panic in brooklyn. They dont know what to do. Theyre delusional. They dont have any idea what emails are going to get out there. His running mate, mike pence, released ten years of tax returns tonight. Why wont donald trump release his taxes . What is the justification . I dont know. I dont know. And i dont really spin for donald trump. If were going to talk about secrecy and what we cant see, theres a laundry list of it over there on mrs. Clintons side, too. Listen wees, we will get to but can we stick to the point instead of deferring to the other side. Everybody does that. Why wont he release his tax returns . That is something that Hillary Clinton has done. I dont know. But, frankly, his taxes are the least of my concerns. Were talking about were talking about a history shrouded in secrecy around mrs. Clinton that the public it doesnt matter to you how much taxes hes paid, how much Charitable Giving hes done, especially since the cornerstone of his campaign, one of them beside immigration and building a wall, has been what a great businessman he is, how he will rescue the economy and save the American People and get jobs because he can create them because hes such a great businessman . That doesnt make you curious about how his companies operate, how much money he makes, how much taxes hes paid, how much Charitable Giving hes done . Youre not curious about that . You want me to evaluate his professional resume. Again, im happy to do it. I suppose it would be nice to see, sure. These two people trying to evaluate their professional resumes, it would be exhaustive and we can make the case for both of them quite frankly, we can make the case that both of them are shrouded in secrecy and unanswered questions. I cant focus on him when her resume of failure is so vast. I mean, it very difficus very me to pile on him i think it would be fair if we were discussing their resumes but were talking about releasing their tax returns. One candidate has done it on the president ial side. Another one has not. Both Vice President ial candidates have done it. Donald trump is the only one who hasnt. But go ahead, joe. Failures. This is a man that has had so many bankruptcies. But heres the point. I had a friend today say to me that its more than now a double standard. Its quadruple standard. This is the same candidate, donald trump, who asked for the president s College Transcripts, asked a 50yearold man for College Transcripts. Then he wanted to see a Birth Certificate. He wanted to see legitimacy. What tax returns do, it tells you a lot who you attributed to. You know what really bothers me is people who call up and say or people who sit out there and say, well, you know, i wouldnt understand them, even if he gave out his tax returns. Let me tell you, we probably all work on Talk Radio Stations and networks. We can find tax experts who can explain it. There are people right here on cnn who can come on and explain what hes done. The reason he doesnt do it is because he is hiding something. Thats exactly the argument that would have been used against president obama and anybody else and thats why the governor of indiana released his taxes. Something is strange when your running mate releases taxes and the man at the top of the ticket doesnt . John hasnt gotten in. John. Heres what were told about mrs. Clintons Charitable Foundation and the giving to that foundation. Were told those things dont matter, there was no quid pro quo. Millions and millions to the clinton found as, no quid pro quo. Thats what were told. If were just going to apply this sent aly, we can do this all day on both of them. Did they release the record, though . Yes, they did. And they got an a rating. Tell the whole story. Tell the whole story. They got an a rating. I will tell the whole story. I think its fair to evaluate all of them if you have the receipts, as they say. If youre going to evaluate the clintons and they have released all the information, it fair to evaluate it. You cant evaluate any of what trump says about his taxes because he hasnt released them. Go ahead, john. The clintons didnt released anything. It got released by judges or by leaks. Its not like they were forthcoming and released anything. But let me get to your question, which is Donald Trumps tax returns. He absolutely should not released his returns under any circumstances, audit or not. Releasing tax returns is simply a creation of the media that decided at some time people should release their taxes. If you want to know what donald trump has done, go to manhattan, look up, see the skyline, thats what hes done. Its all there. Now, what the media wants to do is have them release his taxes so for the next six weeks we can scrutinize every donation and every line item and every deduction whats wrong with that . Nothing. Im not happy with the hard core republicans. Most of america is not happy with the hard core republicans. I think trump is wonderful because hes not part of the same old same old. Hes not part of the political dynasty built by the rightwing republicans and lived by the clintons. You just confirmed, there are republicans who will say things about donald trump. Before this election the term is Silent Majority. Made most people think of richard nixon. Is that going to lead back to that in 2016. I dont really think its a throwback to richard nixon. I do think its a throwback that i came from ten years in the Education Business and i say, the Squeaky Wheel always gets the grease. The unsilent minority, they get their way. But its time to take the country back and theres only juan way to do it. Weve got to get conservative values in the fiscal area more than Anything Else because a broke country is not going to be able to do anything at all to help anybody and were getting there quickly. Were with the Silent Majority. Were focusing on five states on the ground, on the air. Its a great opportunity to spread the word but the most important thing is when this election is over, the Silent Majority pac is not going away, the silent Majority Group is not going away. I think i was remiss, it should have been my followup question, do you believe because ive heard it again, the hard core conservatives in your terms, do you believe donald trump is a conservative . You know, depends. They said jane fonda was your stepmother so you cant be a conservative. You dont believe in this, you dont believe in that, youre not a conservative. He is the most conservative person in this race by far. There is a theory that there are a number of people who are out there who havent been a part of the political process in the past. But theyre going to be motivated to turn out, as you said, people are afraid to put signs out. Do you think theyre going to show up and cast votes and you think its going to put donald trump over the top. When barack obama first started running for office, everybody said he was unelectable. But you saw the turnout. You saw he was a star. Cnn has to fabricate the 45 people and the hillary thing to make it look that big. But the media in general, for trump theyre sanding in line for hours. The Silent Majority, theyre tired of the Political Correctness and the silliness going on. Theyre tired of the lying and corruption and they want new politicians. They want new people in those seats, too. Theyve got to turn over congress. You know, you cant cover the whole country, you cant get everything done. Theres huge pacs that we see that theyre painting with broad strokes. But if you go to florida, if you go to north carolina, you go to virginia, you go to ohio, you go to pennsylvania, those are five states that are crucial to winning. So what weve got to do is because the hard core republican side and were not talking about hard core conservatives, im talking about the party operatives, theyre not helping trump. So many people have come out against trump. So weve got to back fill in those areas. Weve got to get houses with people talking at dinner, get social media and tv ads going. I want to know whether you believe that your candidate for president believes he would succeed a legitimate president or not . Donald trump believes now that he was born in the United States. But that issue was raised originally when is he going to say that this president is legitimate . This is a fundamental question, mr. Mayor. Is the president of the United States legitimate or not . He do you believe it . If you believe it, why doesnt your Candidate State It . I believe it, he believes it, we all believe it. Trump has recently said he doesnt talk about it anymore, he hasnt actually said it was incorrect. It was a huge issue that donald trump promoted for years and years. Does he have to say it himself . No, he doesnt. Mark penn, the chief strategist wrote a Memo Questioning the roots of barack obama. Boris, that is factually incorrect. It is not. It came from a supporter of Hillary Clinton. So go on. Two staffers in iowa. Fine, go ahead. Who worked for the campaign. Go ahead. Hillary clinton raised the issue. She could not get an answer. Hillary clinton raised the issue or someone Hillary Clintons campaign, which shes the boss off, Hillary Clintons campaign, 2008, the losing campaign which was rejected by the American People raised the issue. She did not get an answer. Donald trump did get an answer that barack obama was in fact born in the United States of america, that issue is put to bed they never said he wasnt born in the United States. Trump, i believe, is having serious continued engagement and is doing well with the black community in terms of polling andin ga ienga and i believe the cant campaign he raised it in iowa during the iowa caucuses. No, he didnt. Bob, you have no proof yes, he did. Heres the bottom line, for eight years you guys have known and you guys refused to tell the truth. You can talk over me all you want no, thats something that you guys mitt romney was at 6, mccain was at 2 and were at 8 and growing. Youre out of your mind. During the primary campaign, he told Anderson Cooper that he was not sure. He didnt raise it. He didnt raise the issue. And he said he didnt believe the Birth Certificate was accurate. The American People have moved on. They elected him once, they elected him twice and now were about an election between donald trump and Hillary Clinton. Donald trump has always said as a successful businessman, he supported politicians on both sides of the aisle. That is what i make of the pictures. I do have to say this, bob beckel, youre historically incorrect that the Donald Trump Organization were never proven to commit any wrong doing in the 70s nor do they agree they committed any wrong doing. That is incorrect. Moving on. These pictures i think these photos show that mr. Trump is capable of working on both sides of the aisle and being diplomatic like he shows his dilplomacy of going down mexico to talk to the president. You want relationships with people and comfortable having relationships on both sides of the aisle that will negotiate and get things done for the American People once and for all. I dont think the photos are anything but what they are showing that donald trump has relationships with people. Ordinary people look at this stuff and there you go, the big elites, the people at the top of the society. They get on tv and fuss and fight but behind the closed doors theyre buddy buddy. Kids go to all of the fancy schools and they scratch each others backs. I dont know if releasing it makes one look bad or the other. They both look bad and part of what we dont deal with is if there is a deep, deep discontent in the country. Black folks with black lives matters, the sanders supporters, the trump people, the Native Americans fighting back now in the dakotas. There is a deep discontent and a lot of what is going on is, a lot of peoples point of view, are the politics of distract and divide and both parties now, i think are deeply into that as opposed to figure out what were trying to do to get jobs for people and these pictures remind folks that guess what, there is an elite. All of the people will be fine but you and your family may not. We have a lot of work to do in this country. I think those pictures make both of them look terrible. The one nuance there is this, donald trump has always been honest about who he is honest about his success. Forth coming. The clintons have made themselves, theyre obviously not.
