Fraud case. Hes trying to do to the American Voter what he did to the people that signed up for this course. Hes making promises he has no intention of keeping and it wont just be 36,000 that they lose. The future of our country is at stake. Hes trying to con people to give him their vote as he conned people into giving him their money. The real con artist is senator marco rubio who is locat elected in florida and has the worst voting record. Is this the debate that you want playing out in the general election . If we nominate donald, were going to spring the fall and summer with the republican nominee facing a fraud trial with Hillary Clinton saying why did you give my campaign and my foundation 100,000 and with Hillary Clinton pointing out that he supported her four times in a president ial race. Its a minor civil case. Donald learn not to interrupt. Count to ten, donald. Count to ten. Give me a break. There is a lot to get to with our panel. We have a conservative radio host and cruz supporter and here in los angeles our Senior Analyst and Political Columnist for the Orange County register and donald trump supporter. This was rubio teeming up with cruz to go after donald trump. They tried and they tried to opinion donald trump down on policy, they wanted to get some details. Were they effective . Would it have made any difference. He didnt really go there. We dont know much about more about where he stands on issues. The one thing he said he changed on he put out a statement after the debate saying he didnt mean he is not fact open to visas. He will not need to add another chapter after tonight. This was the kind of debate he get as the debate season goes on. As the primary season goes on. The ratio of kind of invektive to information was out of whack and thats what you see. Well get to that in a minute. But trump supporter how did your guy go . I think he did fine. I think Princess Diana would be protesting outside. You saw a shift from strategy from the cruz and rubio camps where they were attacking each other in previous debates and now whether theyre admitteding it or not theyre playing for a brokered convention which means theyve turned the guns on donald trump and theyre looking to make this thing as messy as humanly possible and i think they had a pretty good night tonight. John kasich did well tonight. The point about rubio and cruz and collusion. Do you think there was some collusion going on here between marco rubio and ted cruz. Most certainly. I think the best attack that has ever stuck on donald trump, but the one that has the most is going to be Trump University. Were a forgiving people in america, but theres one type of person that we dont like and its people who prey on the vulnerable and Trump University is going to be framed like that if not by rubio and cruz, most certainly by Hillary Clinton. Shes going to par aid out people who were scammed out of money and donald trump is going to be seen as the rich fat cat who preyed on Vulnerable People and thats not going to play well in the general election. Theyve had two debates where they went after donald trump. It didnt last time. Do you think its going to work this time. No. Ive had more high minded and civil fights when i was in second grade. I mean, this is really vicious. It was nasty. It didnt look good for the Republican Party. I think there were democrats popping champagne corks tonight. The adult in the room was governor john kasich, the problem is thats not going to matter because despite kasichs efforts and mitt romneys appeal, theres not a demand for that among the voters. You look at the voters who turned out in every state from New Hampshire to nevada and South Carolina and all the super tuesday, they like this side of donald trump and no one can play Donald Trumps game as well as donald trump can. They might have chipped into his support, certainly these questions about Trump University were huge and serious and i think theyre ones that will continue to dog him for some time, but no one stopped Donald Trumps sprint towards the nomination tonight. You mentioned the school, the taunts and some of the gutter blows here. Mostly this was between rubio and donald trump. Ever heard of trump stakes . You know what. Take a look at trump stakes. Its gone. Youve ruined this. Mitt romney came up with things that were totally false. The funny thing is he didnt talk about the hundreds of really successful jobs, the buildings all over the world, he doesnt talk about that. I have a policy question for you, sir. Lets see if he answers it. I will. Dont worry about it. Dont worry about it little mario, i will. Dont worry about it little marco. Look at those hands, are they small hands . And he referred to my hands if theyre small Something Else must be small. I guarantee you theres no problem. I guarantee you. Youve been in politics for a long time. Have you ever seen a debate like this. Possibly the single lowest moment in the history of president ial primaries really. Theres never been anything quite like this. Trumps use of personal attack on the other candidates from the beginning now them turning it around on him, the issues that you usually see deciding a republican president ial primary, you cant describe it. Who here can describe the difference between the marco rubio, ted cruz and donald trump tax plans. The kind of things in the past we have seen central to these races have been pushed aside. To some extent a battle over the muslim ban and the wall. Have cruz and rubio and kasich however informally accepted a strategy where theyre essentially partitioning the country and each trying not so much to surpass donald trump, but simply to prevent him from getting a first ballot majority. Thats what mitt romney called for today. Have the candidates bought into it. The Rubio Campaign is sending signals they have. How about cruz . We are going to get to actually a little later this hour, but i want to ask john this question here before the debate trump apparently promised his wife he was going to act president ial. It seems he didnt keep that promise. I think he was very president ial. He reminded of teddy roos velt and i think people give donald trump a pass. If you know the Donald Trump Style on negotiations, he asks for so much more than what he expects to get and then if you accept 50 or 60 of what you ask for, then you can declare victory. I think donald Trump Supporters, but donald Trump Supporters know that thats how he plays the negotiation game so they forgive some of the bluster and i think theyre going to forgive that. One of the most effective people in that room this evening was the moderator megyn kelly. Lets listen to this. The lead plaintiff signed a letter saying allow great it was. You counter sued her and the court threw out the counter suit and made you pay legal fees of hers and you made the same argument about 98 of people being happy with Trump University and that lady saying she liked it and this is what that stand by. This is what the court of appeals found, they said that the plaintiffs against you are like the Madoff Victims and this is what the court of appeals said. They found that victims of con artists often sing the praises of their victimizers. This was round two and you know shes a lawyer and she kind of nailed him a few times. She did a far better job of sticking it to him than either marco rubio or ted cruz did. She was his toughest add ver sear in the room tonight. She didnt do anything that could give donald trump grounds to say like he did back in august like hes been saying for several months megyn kelly is unfair to me, she did what a reporter is supposed to do and i think she showed her savvy as a former lawyer in terms of bringing the case against him tonight and it proved to be very effective. I think if i were marco rubio or ted cruz or either one of their campaigns and i were looking for way to see sort of effectively dent donald trump, i would be looking not to campaign strategyists but probably to megyn kelly. Mike, as a ted cruz supporter did you take heart from that moment with megyn kelly and it does go into the narrative that marco rubio is trying to spin here that donald trump is a snake oil salesman. The other attacks you played a second ago about him having failed businesses here and there, those will never land. A lot of Trump Supporters say when you have businesses some of them are going to fail. Donald trump is a man with per server answer which we admire. The Trump University is going to stick. The mitt romney speech was incredible today how much that backfired. I had many people call on my radio show say that they used to support ted cruz, but theyre switching to donald trump because of mitt romney mitt romney is now the face of the establishment and he reminded people why they hate the establishment and why they considered donald trump in the first place. I think donald trump is going to gain in the polls. Hold that thought because were going to get into the romney moment back after the break. We were talking about john kasich having a good night, that he tried to stay above the fray, he was the sunshine and happiness guy. Do you think that donald trump is naive about the threat that putin represents. Im not biting. Let me take you around the world, okay. Okay. So john is this im reading this that john kasich is auditioning for the vp slot here. Hes the owner of a lot of delegates and he could be a player, he could be the nominee, he could be the vp nominee and hes playing nice with everyone so hes going to be the guy who might end up being the king of the hill. Was he angling for Something Else. He was in Single Digits in almost every super tuesday state. Hes been living in michigan and the poll has him in Single Digits. Theres a limited audience. He is eating away at that mainstream part of the party that marco rubio was hoping would grow around him. He has the problem of ted cruz, just too narrow in the range of voters that hes appealing to. I think hes hoping that perhaps Everything Else crashes together and people will look to him at the end, but i kind of think thiif it crashes they will look to people on the field. One of the issues was donald trump being flexible and some of his flipflopping ideas and it was the high skilled immigrants. Im changing. Im changing. We need highly skilled people in this country and if we cant do it well get them in. We absolutely have to have them. So we do need highly skilled and one of the biggest problems we have is people go to the best colleges and as soon as theyre finished they get shoved out. They want to stay here desperately. Theyre not able to stay here. For that purpose we absolutely have to be able to keep the brain power in this country. You were saying hes put out a statement saying its not clear who he was referring to there. It seemed to be after the debate he put out a statement saying hes not in favor of h1b. The challenge that republicans face Donald Trumps Approval Rating is up 21 points. Hes touched a nerve with republicans. Hes looking at a 60 overall unfavorable, in the 70 in the coaliti coalition. So maybe if hes the nominee with the same kind he has great communication skills, but the fact is that the way he has presented himself raises challenges in the general election and while he can add new positions its not clear he can subtract the positions hes taken. Thats why theres anxiety among republicans. A lot of people were tweeting about that moment here comes the pivot toward the senate by donald trump getting ready for the general election. When does he make that pivot towards the center. When he has the delegates locked up. Hes going to have a fight on the right and left until that happens. They tried to beat him up over the issue with the New York Times where he spoke offer the record and said that his position is more flexible than people think on immigration, but i dont think that hurts him because hes selling himself as a businessman who cuts deals and gets things done. If you do that you have to have a certain degree of flexibility. I dont think thats going to lose any support. Quickly back to dilan in detroit. We mentioned this issue of the off the record interview with the New York Times. Whats the back story there p and why wont donald trump release the sbeinterview . The back story there is that donald trump like many president ial candidates went in to have a meeting with the New York Times. A lot of these meetings are on the record and parts are off the record and theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. The reason that happens is because the candidates want do have a chance to air their views without having to worry about every single word theyre saying and the editors want to hear those views without having the candidates worry. The problem here is that a rumor started to spread around the New York Times newsroom that what donald trump had said in that meeting off the record contradicted many statements he had made about immigration publicly and now the New York Times is more than happy to release the tape but honoring their duty to honor the off the record agreement they cant do that unless trump agrees to do so and he wont agree to do so. He was asked about that in the debate tonight, he hasnt given a clear answer. He says he wants to honor the tradition of off the record so that doesnt matter if both release it. You have to imagine he wont release it because theres something in there that might embarrass him. Thank you for staying around for us. We appreciate you being with us. Well say good night and well take a short break. Well have more on the partys fight to take down donald trump. That took a sharp turn on thursday when mitt romney labeled trump a fraud. Also ahead the staffer who set up Hillary Clintons private email server has started cooperating with the fbi. Well have details when we come back. A moment from the Republican Debate and another sign that trumps rivals are no longer holding back and mitt romney launched an attack on donald trump calling him a phoney and fraud and hes working to try to stop donald trump from getting enough delegates to win the nomination. An unprecedented take down of a republican frontrunner by a former republican stander bear. Donald trump lacks the temperament to be president. The most Extraordinary Part of the message, he wasnt calling donald trump perilous for america. Donald trump tells us he is very very smart. Im afraid that when it comes to Foreign Policy, he is very very not smart. If we republicans choose donald trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are diminis d diminished. It was aimed to expose trump as a phoney. He say wait, isnt he a huge Business Success, no he hasnt and no he doesnt. Romney effectively called trump a looser in an attempt to undermine trumps rational for his candidacy that hes a winner. Whatever happened to Trump Airlines . How about Trump University . And then theres trump magazine and trump vodka and trump steaks and trump mortgage. A business genius he is not. But the 2012 gop nominee is an imperfect messenger since he courted trumps endorsement four years ago. Then romney praised the businessman he criticized today. Donald trump has shown an extraordinary ability to understand how our economy works to create jobs for the American People. But the straightlaced romney is disgusting with trumps demeanor as a president ial candidate now. Think of Donald Trumps personal kw personal qualities, the bullying, the greed, the showing off, the absurd third grade theet ricks. Romney tried to preernlt trumps response. Will he talk about our policy differences or will he attack me with every low road insult. This may tell you what you need to know about his temperament and suit yablabltd to be presid trump responded true to form. I backed mitt romney. I backed him. You can see how loyal he is. He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said mitt drop to your knees. He would have dropped to his knees. Trump claimed romney didnt run for president this time around because he feared the reality star. Mitt chickened out but he chickened because of me. It was clear romneys criticism of trumps Business Record hit a nerve. The billionaire came armed with a list of accomplishments. They dont want to talk about 92 story buildings all over the place and the the bank. Frankly its ridiculous. Donald trump there. Im joined by our political panel. Our senior political analyst and kbc talk radio host for the Orange County register and a trump supporter. Ron, id like start with you again. Is this the point of no return . Is the Republican Party split in two . I think it has around the issue of donald trump. It was stiekiriking at the end the debate that the other candidates said they would support him. I think they felt cornered at that moment. You had mitt romney and john mccain and 95 leading republican Foreign Policy and National Security officials putting out a statement yesterday they cant support him. I do think you have you do have this fundamental i quoted someone in my column today saying on the one hand if you go to the convention and you deny the nomination to the guy who has the most delegates, thats probably a recipe for civil war, on the other hand you have somebody thats dangerous to the countries, thats a recipe for civil war. Its not clear theres a way out for the republicans. Mike, i want to pick up on the last question which the fox moderator asked would they support donald trump. They said donald trump is terrible, hes a liar, unprepared, but itll still vote for him. Doesnt that undercut everything they spent the last couple of hours doing. I think that goes to show how terrible Hillary Clinton is that matter who any of them are better than hillary. I think mitt romney knows that civil war is the only way out because mitt romney didnt say vote for ted cruz so he wins, he said vote for kasich in ohio and rubio in florida knowing that the only play is to keep trump from getting the delegates he needs which would lead to a broken convention and that would lead to a complete civil war. I want to say one last thing, the people who hated mitt romneys speech the most was ted cruz and marco rubio because mitt romney just gave donald trump an entire days worth of Media Coverage yet again and marco rubio and ted cruz werent able to get a breath in. This plan that romney is putting forward about denying trump the nomination, isnt that everything that is twaattractin supporters to donald trump is that the elite are rigging the race, you can vote but well tell you who you can have. Donald trump is fortunate to have the right enemy at the right time. When the pope attacked him that helped him when the former president of mexico attacked him that happened him, i think romneys attacks will help him. One thing we should question is the motivation of romneys attack. If he wanted to cause the most damage why didnt he give the speech before the massachusetts primary or before nevada where the state is loaded with mormon voters. My idea is if theres a brokered convention mitt romney will be a candidate again. Theres some talk that he may come in and he may be drafted. I do think if donald trump cannot reach the first ballot, if donald trump is not the nominee, if his strategy does work, if they can it deny him enough delegates, the nominee would be someone not on the battlefield today. If you look at the situation at this point, trump is clearly much stronger than cruz or rubio or kasich. I think theres no question that trump is it going to go to the convention with the most delegates. Its hard to imagine any other scenario. But donald trump has not expanded quite as far as we thought. He only got past 40 in the super tuesday states. Every state on super tuesday he did not run as well among College Educated voters as among noncollege voters. Cruz is too narrow. He cannot win nonevangelical voters and rubio is too shallow. So there is still resistance to trump that neither candidate seems capable of harvesting it and will that ultimately open the door for somebody else, i would bet money on paul ryan if it ever came to that. Were out of time, but we could go on and on. Well leave it there. Thanks to all of you for coming in and helping us work through what was a pretty eventful and exciting Republican Debate. They keep getting interesting. This was number 11. Theyll write books about this for a long time. Okay. When we come back well have more from the u. S. President ial race including the clinton response to the latest into the investigation into her emails. I beat Hillary Clinton in many polls. I beat Hillary Clinton in a recent fox poll. I beat Hillary Clinton in usa today. I beat her today in a poll in ohio. I beat im the only one that beats Hillary Clinton. I have not started on hillary yet, believe me i will start soon. I havent even started. Welcome back everybody. The u. S. President ial candidate donald trump boasting hes the only republican who has and will continue to beat democrat Hillary Clinton, but secretary clinton might have some bigger issues right now. Its a critical weekend coming up for her and her rival Bernie Sanders as they battle for delegates in a series of primaries and caucuses. Reporter Hillary Clinton raking in the cash she needs for a je a general election at a starstudied fundraiser in new york with a lineup featuring katie perry and sir elton john. Even in the face of smear tactics she has the grit and grace to look back and laugh. Reporter shes taking a break from the trail today. America has always been great. We do not have to make it great. What we have to do is we have to make america whole and that means working with one another. Reporter shes fundraising on a promise to keep trump out, but Bernie Sanders is trying this tack as well is th. Almost all of the major polls that have come out have me beating donald trump. Reporter in michigan where the democrats hold their primary tuesday hes attacking clinton on trade. She has supported nafta. I opposed nafta. She supported permanent normal trade relations with china. I vigorously opposed it. Reporter clinton may have another distraction to deal with. The Justice Department has granted immunity to the staffer who set up her email. Its part of the investigation on whether classified information was mishandled and despite her initial months of refusing to turn over her sever, her campaign is emphasising her cooperation. We were pleased that hes at least cooperating with the Justice Department review. Reporter donald trump is promising to keep the issue alive should he and Clinton Square off in the general election. Im not going to let go of the email things. If you think about it, ben gaz zee of course. Lets get more on the president ial race. Nice to see you. Lets get to the issue about the polls and who is better against Hillary Clinton as a republican. Do you think donald trump will have it with Hillary Clinton or would you prefer to see a ted cruz or marco rubio. I think any of the republican field can beat Hillary Clinton, but its hard to say looking at the general election polls right now they cant apply to november because the fact is the candidates havent pivoted to the center yet and they havent begun to attack Hillary Clinton. They havent . They really havent. I think clearly donald trump is losing to the democrats in the recent polling, but i think he has to be taken seriously. This is a guy who has been able to appeal to a wide range of voters, those reagan independents youre seeing turn out on the republican side similar to what barack obama was able to do in 2008. Hes willing to go against his party, against george bush, he can hold Hillary Clinton accountable for voting for the iraq war. Donald trump has the benefit of never having cast a vote so he can blame hillary for everything thats wrong. This is one of the issues that came up in the debate, it was about the polls and who was the better candidate. This is the exchange between rubio, cruz and trump. I dont believe these politicians. All talk, no automatction. Im hearing him say about a percentage. Cnn, he gets 15, that means 85 based on what youre saying of the people dont dig you, number one. Donald lives by the polls every day. He tweets. He told us to look to the cnn poll because that cnn policy showed that head to head donald trump loses to Hillary Clinton by eight points. He didnt lose close, he loses by eight points. That same poll he told you to look at shows me beating Hillary Clinton. We cannot mess this up. We all love the cnn poll, right. Ill put it to you that despite what these three main guys are talking about, isnt the best one to beat Hillary Clinton john kasich. Thats probably right, but hes the least likely to get the republican nomination so at this point its just pretend talk. And from a Democrat Point of view, who is the dream candidate . Is donald trump the danger of under estimating him and he could be the problem come the general. Hes the unconvention al candidate. According to the polls hes the guy you want to go up against in november, but the problem is whether hes going to expand on the coalition that hes built. I do think marco rubio is probably the most formidable republican to go against the democrats because he could rebuild that compassionate conservativism that george bush built. Hillary clinton has a huge problem and that is the Enthusiasm Gap and shes got trust issues not just with the larger electorate doesnt trust her, a lot of democrats dont trust her. Theres this issue with her email sever and the staffer who now has immunity. How worried should the Clinton Campaign be about this because obviously the Justice Department dont give someone immunity. This guy took the fifth amendment previously so i think theyre grasping at straws. Theyre trying to create a case against the clintons, but this an act of desperation. I think the Clinton Campaign doesnt ultimately believe is this is going to impact whether she gets the nomination. Bernie sanders stepped on himself saying enough of your emails. What about the general election, you have this drip, drip, trust, trust. It may be her undoing and remind voters what they suspect about the clintons and that is that theyre in it for themselves and theyre not trustworthy. Something always close to the wind. Thank you for coming in. We appreciate it. Well take another short break here and the growing number of antitrump sentiment, it goes beyond the american boarders. Well go around the world and well ask what if donald trump was to win the u. S. President ial race. I would be scared stiff. Worried about whats going to happen. Very scared. Very scarey. I dont know. Could be bad. Could be a blast. Cant find a single thing to wear. Will they be looking at my hair . Wont be the same without you bro. When a family flies into the World Trade Center and his family gets sent back to where they were going and i think most of you know where they wasnt, it wasnt iraq, they knew what was happening. The wife knew exactly what was happening. Donald trump there just a few hours ago at the 11th Republican Debate. His name is known all around the world, but what do they make of a possible President Donald Trump in other countries. Heres a sample. Donald trump is a businessman, not a president. Hes a businessman. Donald trump is a businessman. A very successful one. He is a businessman. A very, very rich man. Hes a very rich person who think he can buy the world. An entertainer. Hes an actor. Donald trump is donald trump is a racist and opportunityist. Not a very nice person. Hes very nice. Hes nice man and hes a nice man. Donald trump is mad. I think that he caters to a very basic emotion. Theyre not listening to what hes saying. I think its more about who he is. So theyre tired of the intellectual politicians so theyre looking for something fresh. Looking for something new, something normal and someone who can speak out. Especially American People who hurt donald trump. Having severe International Relations problems with other countries, not just mexico, maybe europe, much of china since hes always criticizing china. I think relations between russia and United States will be better. I think its going to be horrible for the middle east. I think its going to be not a war. A third world war. Somebody who puts his finger on the Nuclear Button to be honest. Id be scared stiff. Worried about whats going to happen. Very scarey. Very scared. I dont know. It looks bizarre. He might be a good president for america. Im not satisfied and i would ask for maybe it will be a gad change for anymore. British actor Sasha Baron Cohen weighed in on the president ial race at the premier of his new movie. Drinking a beer, carrying a gun, he joked that he is endorsing the republican frontrunner. Initially, i was going to endorse that crazy liberal socialist ted cruz. But it was donalds rallies that won me over. Theyre like soccer matches in england. Shouting, violence, abuse. The only difference is we dont throw the black people out. Insults, big statements mixed in with a little bit of policy. The 11th debate of the republican president ial primary season was short on substance, long on personal attacks. Here are the best bits. Hi. Hello. How you doing . Nice to be with you, megyn. Great to have you here. In this campaign for the last year, donald trump has basically mocked everybody with personal attacks. He referred to hi hands. If theyre small, Something Else must be small. And as john vause just said at the closing of his show, nine more months to go. Where do we go from here . We will find out. The republican president ial candidates, they face off in detroit, michigan. You see them there. Four candidates left remaining on that stage. But it was the frontrunner, donald trump, with the bullseye on his back. Ted cruz and marco rubio attacked him on everything from the lawsuits over his failed Trump University to his flexible stance on an immigration policy. He said well the problem is you cant find americans who are qualified or who want to work as waiters and waitresses. Marcos dad started as a bartender. My dad started washing dishes. Yet you know how Many Americans wanted those jobs . Roughly 300 applied. Donald hired 17. You have a club in palm beach, florida called the mar el lago. Its called the season. It goes from november until march. Its a few month, five months at the most. People dont want a shortterm job. Its our country that is at stake here. The future of the United States and the most important election in a generation, handy is trying to con people into giving them their vote, just like he conned these people into giving him their money. Excuse me, excuse me. The real con artist is senator marco rubio who was elected in florida and who has the worst voting record in the United States senate. He doesnt go to vote. He is absent. He doesnt go. Now, the people of florida cant stand him. He couldnt get elected dogcatcher. You change your tune on so many things. And that has some people saying what is his core . Megyn, i have a very strong core. I have a very strong core. You have to be flexible, because you learn. You have to show a degree of flexibility. If youre going to be one way and you think its wrong, does that mean the rest of your life you have to go in the wrong direction because you dont want to change . There is a difference between flexibility and telling people whatever you think you need to say to get them to do what you want them to do. And all this on the day the 2012 republican president ial nominee mitt romney attacked trump at a speech in salt lake city, utah, romney called trump a phony and a fraud. He also said trump is playing the American Public for suckers. During the debate, trump said romney was an embarrassment to the party, and that romney begged trump for his endorsement four years ago. Lets get some analysis on what was another memorable showdown among the republican candidates. Were joined now by amy kramer. She chairs a superpac that supports donald trump. And ashley bell, who used to be a democrat, was actually a super delegate in 2004. He switched parties a few years ago. He is now supporting marco rubio. Thank you both for being with us. Thanks for having us. What day for the frontrunner, donald trump. You know, first starting the day with that scathing speech from mitt romney, and then on stage getting a great deal of pressure from his rivals, demanding more specifics. The moderators even putting pressure on marco rubio about why he was engaging in namecalling, specifically with that hands reference to donald trump. But then donald trump did respond with this. Look at those hands. Are they small hands . And he referred to my hands. If theyre small, Something Else must be small. I guarantee you, there is no problem. I guarantee it. So my question to you, and amy, well start with you, is this the sort of Straight Talk i guess you call it . I dont know. Is this what donald Trump Supporters want to hear . Or does this embolden that movement anyone but trump when they hear things like that on stage . Look, i think that all of us want policy and substance. We want to get down to the issues that most americans are concerned about. And i dont think that any of this, the namecalling, the atacks helps anyone. I think what has happened today, though, with governor romney coming out, and this debate, it seems like it was more and more got you, donald trump, i think it solidifies his support with the base. And the its about the American Voters that are supporting him. Its not about donald trump. And thats what everybody keeps seeming to miss. They keep saying weve got to stop trump. How do we stop him. And the brokered convention and all. This its not about trump. Its about the will of the American People and the voters. So you feel this solidifies his base. Now ashley, i ask the same question. Starting a debate with that tone, your thoughts . I think it was a great night for marco rubio. I think once again he proved he has what it takes to get under Donald Trumps skin. When marco rubio said was on the stump. But we respect the integrity of the debate. So in a debate were going to talk about policy. So you didnt hear marco rubio saying any of that stuff at the debate tonight. But what you did see is ted cruz and marco rubio getting under Donald Trumps skin. What did he revert to . Namecalling. When he gets irritated, he reverts to namecalling. The question is what happens if Hillary Clinton does that if he is the nominee . Will he go to name calling . Theyre trying to get him to give more specifics about his policies. But he hasnt been able to do that. At what point would you like to hear more from him on that . Of course id like to hear more. I think all of us would like to hear more from all of them. But there is so much bickering going on between them all that we dont hear much of that at all, from anyone. I mean, i think the best format is town halls where you can get to nose these candidates and they can speak what theyre about personally and how they feel about the issues and get more to policy. But right now what has been going on here, its like a bunch of schoolyard kids fighting. Lets play another clip from the debate itself when rubio questioned whether trump veal lay conservative. We are not going turn over the conservative movement or the party of lincoln or reagan, for example, to someone whose positions are not conservative. To someone who last week defended planned parenthood for 30 seconds on a debate stage. For someone, for example, that has no ideas on foreign. Someone who thinks the Nuclear Triad is a rock band from the 1980s. America is great because of the conservative principles of limited government and Free Enterprise and our Strong National defense. And our nominee needs to be someone who stands by those things. All right. Donald has not demonstrated that. Go ahead. Ashley, start this one. Do you think rubio made some point theres . I think he did. If you look at donald trump through the years, he has evolved. Lets say we take him for everything where he was five years ago is completely different now. Shea completely different man. Now he is prolife. He is all these different things. I think the biggest concern is what marco rubio pointed out. It was just at the last debate he was defending funding planned parenthood which at the grassroots is an issue. I think when you hear donald trump today when he responded to mitt romney talking about raising tariffs and taxes on companies 35 , as a conservative its hard to hear your nominee saying were going to raise taxes. But he has always said that he has always said that. Thats why i agree. He has always said it, but its all not been conservative. Conservatives are not the party of raising taxes. Were the party of limited government. We think we have a spending problem in this country, not a taxation problem. And thats the disconnect between donald trump and the base. But this is the thing. Who is anyone to judge another person as conservative . Ive been called not conservative because im supporting donald trump. But thats a part of what people dont understand, that its not not about him being conservative. Its about him being honest and being right, and having the knowledge to fix what is wrong with this country. And people respect that if he is going to raise taxes on the 1 or whatever, people respect that he is going to go out there and say this is what im going do. Just like tonight when he talked about the visas. He came out and he said ive changed my mind on this. And people respect that. Instead of a politician that is pandering to a group of people because they want their vote. And they say one thing and they get in office and do Something Else. And the American People are fed up with it on all sides of that. I want to move on because weve talked about marco rubio and weve talked about ted cruz. But there was another gentleman on that stage, mr. Kasich. Lets listen to a clip if him just real quick. What is getting in the hearts and souls people is they want change and they keep putting outsiders in to bring about the change. Then the change doesnt come. Then they put more outsiders in because were putting people in that dont understand compromise. They dont understand policy. And people are getting more and more frustrated with the system which is why we must pick somebody that has a record of achievement. Not just talk. Not just talk. Okay. But a record of achievement. Thats how well restore yesability. There was a lot of bickering on stage. Kasich has been described as the adult in the room. I know you have support for donald trump. I know you have support for marco rubio. But as republicans, was this a good night for kasich . I think it was a good night for governor kasich. My problem with governor kasich in the debate is that no one calls him out. He talks about balancing his budget. Well, he has raised taxes to balance his budget. He expanded medicaid in his state. Expanded obamacare. Thats not how he presents it to the American People. And no one is calling him out up there. And no one calling him out because theyre not focused on him. Theyre focused on these three frontrunners, donald trump, ted cruz and marco rubio. Ashley, your thoughts . Governor kasich is a practical man. I agree with you that he may not be the most conservative. But the same reasons to choose he is not conservative are the same reasons i believe donald trump may not be conservative. At the end of the day, governor kasich is talk about practicality. Donald trump is talking about building walls and the mex cal cartel is talking about digging tunnels. Its not practical. You can build a wall as high as you want, but its not a real solution to fixing immigration. I want to talk about the fact that the Trump University failure came up as well as his lacking of hiring americans to work at his place in florida. Do you think either of those issues could continue to dog him in the campaign . I think its a real issue. I think what you saw today from megyn when she showed the clip from the court of appeals, theyre using language that marco and ted are using to call donald trump a con artist. This is Court Documents here. Youre going hear from people. It may be a little too late. But youre going hear people from this University Speak out saying i paid for a product and i didnt get it. Does it matter . It does. Because the integrity of the nominee is going to be called into question by Hillary Clinton. A few seconds. Last word. I mean, look, this is whoever becomes the nominee is going to go up against Hillary Clinton. But also at the same time, this is pending litigation. And so there is stuff that we dont know that we are not privy to. And im sure in the end it will all come out. I think at this point you have to take donald trump and his word on it. What a debate night. So much we can talk about for hours, im sure. Amy kremer, ashley bell, thanks for joining us. Come back again. With all the bickering, with all the namecalling and the rivals demanding specifics, does this help or hurt donald trump . Well have to wait and see. Well have much more as we push on live here from atlanta. When we come back, more of romney versus trump. The back and forth between the 2012 nominee and the current frontrunner. How the rift could impact this campaign. Plus Hillary Clinton brings out the fireworks on the cam a pain trail. While Bernie Sanders, though, says the race is not over yet. It is 2 12 on the east coast this hour. Youre watching cnn newsroom. Welcome back to cnn newsroom. The man who led republicans in the last u. S. President ial election says its not too late to stop the partys frontrunner this time around. And he is trying. He is trying. Mitt romney, is who were talking about, the republican nominee in 2012. He launched a blistering attack on donald trump on thursday, calling him a con man. And now trump is firing back. Our chief Political Correspondent dana bash has more. Reporter an unprecedented takedown of a republican frontrunner by a former republican standard bearer. Donald trump lacks the temperament to be president. Reporter the most Extraordinary Part of mitt romneys message, he wasnt just blasting donald trump is bad for the gop, he was calling him perilous for america. Donald trump tells us that he is very, very smart. Im afraid when it comes to Foreign Policy, he is very, very not smart. If we republicans choose donald trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished. Reporter romneys carefully crafted speech was aimed at exposing trump as a phony. But you say wait, wait, wait, wait. Isnt he a huge Business Success . Doesnt he know what he is talking about . No, he isnt. And no, he doesnt. Reporter romney effectively called trump a loser in an attempt to undermine trumps core rationale for his candidacy, that he is a winner. Were going to win, win. Win. What ever happened to Trump Airlines . How about Trump University . And then there is trump magazine and trump vodka and trump stakes and trump mortgage. A business genius he is not. Reporter but the 2012 gop nominee is an imperfect messenger since he courted trumps endorsement just four years ago. Having his endorsement is a delight. Reporter then romney even praised the business acumen he praised today. Donald trump has shown an extraordinary ability to understand how our economy works to create jobs for the American People. Reporter but the straight laced romney is also clearly disgusted with trumps demeanor as a president ial candidate now. Think of Donald Trumps personal qualities. The bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny. The absurd third grade theatrics. Reporter romney even tried to repeat trumps response. Will he talk about our policy differences or will we he attack me with every imaginable low road insult . This may tell you what you need to know about his temperament, his stability, and his suitability to be president. Mitt was a disaster as a candidate. Reporter trump responded true to form. I backed mitt romney. I backed him. You can see how loyal he is. He was begging for my endorsement. Coy have said mitt, drop to your kneee, he would have dropped to his niece. Reporter trump claimed romney didnt run for president this time around because he feared the reality star. Jeb had him convinced that he is going to run. He has the money. And mitt chickened out. But ill tell you the real reason he chickened out. It wasnt jeb. It was me. Reporter but it was clear romneys criticism of trumps Business Record hit a nerve. The businessman came armed with a list of accomplishments. They dont want to talk about 92story buildings all over the place. They dont want took about the bank of america building in san francisco, 2090 avenue of the americas. Frankly, its ridiculous. So a lot to talk about. And to do that, we have bruce haynes, the republican consultant and founder of purple strategies. Bruce, good to have you with us. So where do we start . You know we saw this unprecedented moment where mitt romney came out and told voters, look, i understand your anger, but donald trump, thats not the right guy. I want you listen to this sound bite. Well talk about it on the other side. Mr. Trump is directing our anger for less than noble purposes. He creates scapegoats of muslims and mexican immigrants. He calls for the use of torture. He calls for killing the innocent children and family members of terrorists. He cheers assaults on protesters. He applauds the prospect of twisting the constitution to limit First Amendment freedom of the press. This is the very brand of anger that has led other nations into the abyss. Bruce, this is fascinating. At a time where you would think that the Republican Party would be thrilled to have a frontrunner who is moving right along, instead were seeing this divide play right out between establishment and donald trump. What do you make of it . Its remarkable to see not just the forceful denunciation from such a figure in the Republican Party as mitt romney, but the fact that he is, has been the Party Standard bearer in the last president ial election, and here he is now, as you said, unleashing what can only be described as a vitriolic denunciation of the current frontrunner who was actually bringing a lot of new Republican Voters into the process. Weve seen turnout going up in my home state of South Carolina, turnout of over 100,000 people since the last time. From your point of view, is this just act one with mitt romney, or does this backfire on him . And does it bolster donald trump . Well, i think it does two things. First of all, there is no question that there the voters who support donald trump, they feel the Republican Party has in some way let them down, betrayed them. They havent represented their views effectively on economic and cultural issues. Mitt romney in a way is the embodiment of that. In some way he reinforces their support for trump. But for this these people who want to find a way to stop donald trump from being the nominee, romney becomes a voice that comes out and makes it its okay for you now to come forward and say im willing to oppose donald trump at all costs, im willing to do what i can to see if we can have an open convention, if he doesnt get enough delegates to win on the first bout of the convention. Very quickly, mitt romney, does he throw his hat in the ring . I think its possible that someone like mitt romney or Speaker Paul Ryan could be a compromise candidate in an open convention on the Republican Party floor. Do we get there . Well just have to wait and see. My goodness, well just have to see. Its all quite fascinating. Bruce haynes, a republican consultant. Bruce, thank you so much for your insight. Thanks for having me. It has been a remarkable day on the republican side. It sure has. As the Republican Party erupts into a civil war, Hillary Clinton is dealing with more questions over her email controversy. On the campaign trail, Bernie Sanders shies away from that topic, but attacks other parts of clintons record. Here is senior White House Correspondent jeff zeleny. Reporter Bernie Sanders had a message today for democrats. The primary isnt over yet. What a fantastic turnout this afternoon. Thank you so much. Reporter he had the campaign trail to himself, from michigan to nebraska to kansas, hunting for delegates in his uphill fight with Hillary Clinton. After basking in the glow of elton john and katy perry at one of the campaigns biggest fundraisers, she spent the day out of view as questions about her public email returned. A former aide was granted immunity and will talk about the server she used as secretary of state. It became instant fodder today for republicans. Assuming she is not arrest a food interest email situation, which is so terrible. Reporter again and again, clinton has defended how she handled classified information. It is just not something that, you know, is going have any lasting effect. And i am not at all worried about it. Reporter but the Justice Department inquiry still hangs over her campaign. Sanders once again steered clear. But he wasted no time going after other parts of her record, starting with the keystone pipeline, which would run straight through nebraska. There is a candidate out there running for the democratic nomination who was a little bit wobbly about the keystone pipeline. Reporter and on trade he called her positions a disaster for michigan. She was very, very wrong, and millions of families around this country have been suffering as a result of those disastrous trade agreements. Reporter he told cnn he has no time for democrats who say he should tone down his rhetoric against clinton. In many ways, democrats can say what they want. Were in the race to win it. I dont run negative campaign ads. But i do think it is appropriate in a campaign you distinguish your differences with your opponents. Reporter he is fighting to win the nebraska and kansas caucuses on friday and maine on saturday. Maybe nebraska is not quite so conservative as ive been told. Reporter still, its an uphill climb for sanders. He has 405 to clintons 606. But when you factor in superdelegates, clintons support soars to 426. Senator sanders says he has no intention of lightening up on Hillary Clinton and is certainly not leaving this race. By the end of the weekend, he believes hell have three more states in the win column, nebraska, kansas and maine. The Clinton Campaign does not disagree. Jeff zeleny, cnn, lincoln, nebraska. And those two candidates will face off for the First Time Since super tuesday on a cnn stage this weekend. Please remember to tune in sunday for the democratic president ial debate. And everybody is talking about that Republican Debate that took place in detroit. From the name calling to the pressure on the frontrunner, the sparks went flying. We will have more live this hour for viewers in london, dubai, seattle, and all points in between. Youre watching cnn worldwide. Man 1 [ gasps ] man 1 he just got fired. Man 2 why . Man 1 network breach. Man 2 since when do they fire ceos for computer problems . Man 1 they got in through a vendor. Man 1 do you know how many vendors have access to our systems . Man 2 no. Man 1 hundreds, if you dont count the freelancers. Man 2 should i be worried . Man 1 you are the ceo. Its not just security. Its defense. Bae systems. And welcome back. Were live in atlanta. Im natalie allen. And im george howell. This is cnn newsroom. No one can say that thursdays republican president ial debate in detroit lacked excitement. Donald trump was true to form with zingers, and there was even vulgarity. And his opponents did not hold back, hoping to knock him off his perch atop the president ial field. Take a look now at some the most memorable and perhaps not so memorable moments depending on what you like from the spirited debate. Romney on trump. Quote, the bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny, the absurd third grade theatrics. He challenged you to he challenged you to answer with substance, not insults. How do you answer mitt romney, sir . Well, look, he was a failed candidate. He should have beaten president obama very easily. He failed miserably, and it was an embarrassment to everybody, including the Republican Party. He went away, it looked like he went away on a vacation the last month. So i dont take that. And obviously he wants to be relevant. He wants to be back in the game. I totally disavow the ku klux klan. I totally disavow david duke. Ive been doing it now for two weeks. This is probably about the 18th person that asked me the question. It was very clear. In the past week, you have mocked mr. Trumps tan. You have made fun of his spelling. You called him a con artist. You suggest head wet himself backstage at the last debate. Along with other vulgar jokes and jabs. So what happened . You know, brett, let me say something. This campaign or to the last year, donald trump has basically mocked everybody with personal attacks. He has done so to people who are sitting on tonight stage today. He has done so about people that are disabled. He has done it about every other candidate in the race. If there is anyone who has everybody deserved to be attacked that way its donald trump. I also happened to call him a lightweight, okay . And i said that. So i would like to take that back. He is really not that much of a lightweight. And as far as and i have to say this, i have to say this, he hit my hands. Nobody has ever hit my hands. Ive never heard of this one. Look at those hands. Are they small hands . And he referred to my hands. If theyre small, Something Else must be small. I guarantee you, there is no problem. I guarantee you. That is why our campaign is the only campaign that over and over again has beaten donald trump to date. And its why were the one Campaign Going forward can and will beat donald trump in this election. Ive heard ted say that over and over again on television, he is the only one who can beat me. Just for the record. Hi have won ten, he has won three or four. Last week, in fact, on tuesday, i was a half a million votes higher than him. I was a million votes higher than marco. One million votes. Thats a lot of votes. And was by far in first place. I keep hearing that he is the only one that can beat me. But he is getting beaten very, very badly. So where does this come from . Where does it come from . There is no doubt that donald has done well in these elections. There is no doubt about that. The numbers are there here is what the numbers also say. 2 3 of the people who have cast a vote in a republican primary or caucus have voted against you. They do not want you to be our nominee. I beat hillary by more than anybody, by 11 points. In one poll. You know, the reason is because the democrats tell me all the time. I can get the crossover votes. You see, because throughout this campaign, ive talked about issues. I have never tried to go and get into these kind of scrums that were seeing here on the stage. And people say everywhere i go, you seem to be the adult on the stage. The simple fact is you all wrote me off. You wrote me off before i even got to New Hampshire. Then when i finished second in New Hampshire, you wrote me off in the south. Then you wrote me off in super tuesday. I split delegates in vermont with donald trump. I finished second in massachusetts. And we won delegates in virginia. But guess what . Its now march madness. And were heading up north to the place, to my turf, okay. Mr. Trump, hi. Hello. How you doing . Nice to be with you, megyn. Great to have you here. Youre looking well. As you. This little guy has lied so up many. Here we go. Here we go. About my record. He has lied so much about my record. Senator rubio, why dont you let him talk. First of all, i got a call from my sister and brother tonight and they said we had no idea that dad gave you 200 million. Believe me, i started off with 1 million. I built a company that is worth more than 10 billion. And we say it not in a bragging way, but thats the kind of thinking we need. Very low debt, tremendous cash flow. My financials are all, theyre natural there with the federal elections. Youve seen them. You ever heard of trump stakes . All these things ruined. Trump steaks is gone. Mitt romney came up with things that are false, totally false. And now the funny thing is he didnt talk about the hundreds of really successful jobs, the buildings all over the world that are made of he doesnt talk about that. The policy question for you sir. Lets see if he answers it. I will. Dont worry about it. Dont worry about it. Dont worry about it, little marco, i will. Well, lets hear, big donald. Dont worry about it little marco. There was a lot of bickering, lively debate i guess you could call it, and some things said on that stage that have never been said in the history of u. S. President ial debates. Yes, and hopefully never will again. Because it was low point for sure. Well, what do voters there in michigan think of the Republican Debate . Well, cnns gary tuchman joined a viewing party in grand rapids to find out. I do want to ask you, this debate was full of criticisms and jokes and putdowns and little marco and little marco and liar ted and liar ted and people coming back to trump. Were any of you okay with that . Do you like to see that in a debate . Youre okay with that . Im okay with that. Hang on. I got to bring you a microphone so we can hear you. Hoe w. H. O. Are you support the big way . Ted cruz all the way. So you like when donald, you think its appropriate when donald trump criticizes him like that . You know, its donald trump. Weve seen him on reality tv. Weve gotten used to his shtick. Weve gotten used to who he is. We can also see he has a very thin skin. We probably dont want that in pat. But ted cruz, i think he has answered back to his critics. He is a true conservative. He has never, ever i thought lied about anything. He stayed true to his voters. Let me ask you this question. For those of you who dont like seeing that, tell me why. Tell me why that it upsets you hearing all the criticism . Well, at first its funny. Then youre thinking oh, my gosh, these people are running for president. The only two people who are happy with that debate performance are the democrats and the people working at snl because they think its funny and theyre going to mock them relentlessly. And theyre not going think about the democrats. It could have an effect on the actual election. Its embarrassing. Do a lot you have agree its embarrassing . Yes. Let me ask you this woman here. Tell me why you think its embarrassing. Well, we have two toddlers at home, and its kind of comparable to who they act when theyre in arguments. Its very immature and it makes me uncomfortable. Because ooem these people are supposed to represent our country. You sound like someone who might switch parties. Youre not going to do that . Most likely not. But i hope they can rise to the occasion and talk about policies. Are any of you considering if donald trump gets the nomination not voting for donald trump . Yes. Its very clear that people here have varied opinions and very strong opinions about this election. And its not something that all republicans want to hear that so many people in the audience might not support the republican nominee if the republican nominee is donald trump. Back to you. Thank you, gary tuchman. Well, there are some Major International issues that the next president will have to deal with. And one of them is certainly north korea. More to the on the race to the white house a little later. But other stories we are following. First, in turkey, where at least two Police Officers are dead after a car bombing that took place near the syrian border. Turkeys semi official News Agency Reports pkk detonated the bomb. Several other people were injured including civilians. The attack was reportedly carried out friday morning near a Police Station in the nusaybin district. There is threatening new rhetoric coming out of north korea and its leader kim jong un. Its coming just a day after the u. N. Security Council Passed strict sanctions against pyongyang. State news agency kcna says kim has ordered Nuclear Weapons to be ready for use, quote, at any time. Paula hancocks is in seoul, south korea watching these latest developments. And certainly part of the sanctions were about curbing his nuclear ambitions. Well, thats right. That was really the main focus of those sanctions. And what we have heard today from kcna, the staterun media is that kim jong un, the north Korean Leader went to guide, to give guidance at a military drill. This was basically test firing a multiple launch rocket system. It doesnt give a dayton photos were showing you. But we do know that on thursday, the south Korean Defense Ministry Said they detected six short range projectiles. So it could be what were looking at here. And he has said in this kcna that Nuclear Warheads need to be ready for use at any time. He said the situation has reached a very dangerous phase that no longer can be neglected. He called the sanctions gangsterlike. It appears pyongyang has been rattled by the sanction. They have been described by the United States as the strongest sanctions they have seen in two decades. And a very different way of dealing with north korea. Now, we also know that just about an hour and a half ago here in seoul, the south Korean Defense ministry and the u. S. Forces, korea actually started talks about a Missile Defense system to potentially be deployed here to south korea in direct response to the threat from north korea. A Defense Missile system that china and russia are dead set against. Natalie . Yes, and as you say, that came across an hour and a half ago. Certainly a response to this situation. And it is certainly yet another dangerous dance by kim jong un, paula. And an lists cnn talked with earlier suggested the reason may be internal, though. That in the face of these sanctions, perhaps kim is looking to shore up his support there domestically. Well, certainly any time you see something on kcna you have to question whether or not it is meant for international or a domestic audience. Very likely this is meant for both. So kim jong un wants to show strength to his own people as well as trying to play up the sense of deterrent for what he calls the u. S. Hostile force. And remember, its a very interesting time of the year. Weve just had the u. N. Sanctions, of course. But were just a few days away from the joint military drills that the u. S. And south korea hold every year. They are very large drills. And they always irritate pyongyang. Pyongyang cease them as a dress rehearsal for an invasion, although seoul and a washington say thats not the case. Further ahead in may, you have this seventh congress of the workers party, something that hasnt been held for more than three decades. Natalie . All right. Paula hancocks following it from seoul, south korea. Paula, thank you. U. S. Womens football star Brandi Chastain says she is donating her brain to science. The twotime world cup champion says she will give her brain for research into chronic traumatic brain injury. Well, a family in the u. S. Is thankful they didnt throw away a paper bag with a treasure inside. They found seven rare baseball cards just like this one in their great grandfathers home. The cards are worth millions of dollars. What a find that must be. Totally. Its awesome. This is cnn newsroom. Still ahead, it was short on substance. It was long on insults. Take a few insults, a little bit of vulgarity and sprinkle in some substance, and that was the u. S. Republican president ial debate in detroit. What a recipe there. The candidates ted cruz and marco rubio took every chance they could get to attack the frontrunner, donald trump. I have a policy question for you sir. Lets see if he answers it. I will, dont worry. Dont worry about it. Dont worry about it, little marco, i will. Donald has a tenuous relationship with the truth. That is not what you said in the oped. Donald, please, i know its hard not to interrupt. That is not what you said in the oped. Lying ted. Breathe, breathe, breathe. You can do it. You can do it. Breathe. I know its hard, i know its hard. When theyre done with the yoga, can i answer a question here . I really hope that we dont see yoga on this stage. Well, he is very flexible so you never know. Okay, from yoga, the insults, the personal attacks. This is really unprecedented. The insults that we saw. These president ial debates have been known to get heated. Here is a look at some of the most memorable insults in the recent history of u. S. President ial debates. This guy is a joke artist. Governor reagan is against such a proposal. Governor, there you go again. Youre not going to be able to insult your way to the presidency. Thats not going to happen. When i hear your new ideas, im reminded of that ad. Where is the beef . For marco to suggest our record is the same is like suggesting the fireman and the arsonist have the same record because theyre both at the scene of the fire. George bush taking credit for the berlin wall coming down is like the rooster taking credit for the sunrise. I never attacked him on his look. And believe me, there is plenty of subject matter right there. I dont think im that bad. Youre likable enough, hillary. Thanks. I mean, literally, the senate, what is it like a french workweek . You get three days where you have to show up . Not a lot of conservatives come out of manhattan. Im just saying. Rudy giuliani, there is only three things he mentioned in a sentence, a noun, a verb. Jack kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, youre no jack kennedy. If your eyes are glazing over like mine, this is what its like to be on the floor of the United States senate. I a am not going to exploit for political purposes my opponents youth and inexperience. If i were sitting at home and watching this back and forth, id be inclined to turn it off. Well, yes, there has been a history there. But perhaps tonights debate was yes, something that we have never seen before. Took the cake. You know, from back stabbing to back room deals, even a deadly duel, cnns new original series, in case you havent gotten enough, race for the white house explores how ruthless the road to the worlds most powerful office has been for centuries. Actor kevin spacey is the shows coexecutive producer and narrater you. Probably know him from house of cards. He spoke to alisyn camerota. So in researching all of these president ial race, which ones did you find most fascinating . Theyre incredible. I think the dukakisbush one is really interesting because its remarkable how events that happen in the course of a campaign can become the singular thing that a candidate is then identified by. Certainly in dukakis case it would be the moment in the tank. Which, of course, tanked then his campaign. Its really interesting. You look back on it now. And sometimes no matter how intelligent, articulate, how many incredible policies an individual might have, these individual moments, these slipups, these its like i think of the great moment when george h. W. Bush looked at his watch in the middle of a debate as if he had somewhere better to be. Of course it wasnt what he intended. But it is so fascinating how little moments like that reveal something to a public, to a press that can then change the course of history. Some people have characterized this race, the 2016 race as the most astonishing race ever. How do you characterize it . No. I think that there are many parallels that we could make to the 1968 race. George wallace ran a very similar kind of campaign. He did exactly the same sorts of things, attacked journalists, attacked integrity of other candidates, he used racism, insulted people. There were fights at his rallies you. Sort of go oh, yeah, weve seen this before. And at least the good news about our country is no matter how crazy it gets and no matter how much fun we have and how insane it looks, we generally get it right in the end. We generally figure it out. Thats a hopeful take on this. Oh, im very hopeful. Kevin spacey is the executive producer of cnns race for the white house. Thanks for being with us. We have much more coverage this hour of the u. S. Republican president ial debate. Thats right. And we start this hour with those four remaining candidates that squared off in detroit, michigan. Donald trump was fending off attacks from ted cruz and marco rubio. There was a lot of namecalling, and plenty of insults, even some vulgarity. Only john kasich stayed out of the fray. Rubio and cruz went after trumps lack of detailed policy. They also went after his failed businesses, especially Trump University which is in the middle of a lawsuit. Donald trump was put on the spot about his immigration policy, which is the cornerstone of his campaign. A recent report from buzzfeed says he told the New York Times that he may be flexible. Trump said that his discussions were off the record, but cruz and rubio want him to release those recordings. You have to be able to have some flexibility, some negotiation. Now, sometimes you ask for more than you want, and you negotiate down to the point. I may have discussed Something Like that with the New York Times. But i would never release off the record conversations. I dont think its fair, frankly, to do that to anybody. How flexible are you on this issue . Not very flexible. Not very flexible. I give the example im going build a wall. Im the one that wants the wall. Im the one that can build the wall. Its going to get built. And by the way, mexico is going to pay for the wall. I can tell you. Mexico is going to pay for the wall. But, and i used an example. And this isnt necessarily what was said. But whatever was said, the wall is 50 feet high. It is going to be 45 feet or 40 feet . That could very well be. He wants it to be higher. That could very well be. But there is always give and take there is always negotiation. And the best negotiator that knows what he is doing will make a great deal. But he need give and take in government. If you dont have give and take, youre never going agree on anything. Donald, you can resolve this issue very quickly by simply releasing the New York Times tape. This wasnt on the subject. Youre misleading the American People. Thats case a. If you didnt tell them that, the tapes will prove your innocence. Okay. But if in fact you went to manhattan and said im lying to the American People, then the voters have a right to know. No, no youre the liar. Youre the lying guy up here. Youre the one, youre the one. Let me tell you. What are you hiding . Uze excuse me, ive given my answer, lying ted. Ive given my answer. Also, cruz accused trump of being part of washingtons corruption and cronyism over the past four decades. Cruz also went after trump for donating to Hillary Clintons 2008 president ial campaign. Donald trump in 2008 wrote four checks to elect Hillary Clinton as president. Okay. So id like to ask donald why did you write checks to Hillary Clinton to be president in 2008. It wasnt for business . And how can you stand on a debate stage now with her and say you dont think she should be . Actually, it was for business. Was for business. I pride myself, including outside of the United States. Im doing almost 120 deals outside which i hope to be able to stop soon or let my children handle it. Were doing many, many deals outside of the United States. I support politicians. In 2008, i supported Hillary Clinton. I supported many other people by the way. That is because of the fact that im in business. I did support very heavily ronald reagan. I also supported george bush, by the way. Lets get some analysis on what was another memorable showdown among the republican candidates. Were joined now by amy kremer. She chairs a superpac that supports donald trump and ashley bell who used to be a democrat was actually a super delegate in 2004. He switched parties a few years ago. He is now supporting marco rubio. Thank you both for being with us. Thanks very having us. What a day for the frontrunner donald trump. About why he was engaging in namecalling specifically with the hands reference. But then donald trump did respond with this. Look at those hands. Are they small hands . And he referred to my hands. If theyre small, Something Else must be small. I guarantee you there is no problem. And i dont think that any of this, the namecalling, the attacks helps anyone. Will he revert to calling her names . I dont think it would end as well. Rubio and cruz both still went after trump, and theyre trying to get him to give more specifics about his policies. But he hasnt been able to do that. At what point would you like to hear more from him on that . Of course id like to hear more. I think all of us would like to hear more from all of them. But there is so much bickering going on between them all that we dont hear much of that at all, from anyone. I mean, i think the best format is town halls where you can get to know these candidates and they can speak what theyre about personally and how they feel about the issues and get more to policy. But right now what has been going on here, its like a bunch of schoolyard kids fighting. Lets play another clip from the debate itself when rubio questioned whether trump is really a conservative. Do you think rubio made some points there . I think he did. If you look at donald trump through the years, he has evolved. Lets say we take him for everything where he was five years ago is completely different now. He is completely different man. And when he points at himself, he says look, people in my tax bracket, were going the raise taxes. Thats how well restore credibility. There was a lot of bickering on stage. But, you know, kasich saying look, he has been described as the adult in the room. Theyre focused on these three frontrunners. What a debate night. So much, we could talk about for hours, i think. Amy kremer, ashley bell, thanks. Nine more months to go. We are just Getting Started with u. S. Politics. Just warming up. Thats right. On this day, the Republican Partys fight to take down donald trump, it ramped up when this former president ial nominee seen here on the right urged his party to dump trump. He launched a blistering attack on donald trump thursday, calling him a con man. And now trump is firing back. Jim acosta has this report. [ cheering ] reporter in what could be a Pivotal Moment in the future of the Republican Party, the gops 2012 president ial candidate mitt romney shredded its current frontrunner. Donald trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He is playing the members of the American Public for suckers. Reporter laying out a scathing, jawdropping indictment, warning the nation will be less safe if donald trump is elected president. Now Donald Trump Tells us that he is very, very smart. Im afraid that when it comes to Foreign Policy, he is very, very not smart. Reporter romney also mocked trumps business background. He inherited his business. He didnt create it. A business genius he is not. Reporter he even went where the current gop field had not really gone before. There is a dark irony in his boasts of his sexual exploits during the vietnam war, while at the same time john mccain who has has mocked was imprisoned and tortured. Reporter john mccain blasted out a statement shortly after mitt romneys speech saying i share the concerns about donald trump. Trump, who argues he is expanding the party brushed off romneys attacks as sour grapes, coming from a president ial loser. He let us down. He let us down. Mitt ran probably it was the worst run that most people have seen. He doesnt have what it takes to be president. That i can tell you. Reporter the real estate tycoon defended his Business Record. They dont want to talk about a 92 story buildings all over the place. Reporter and he joked romney once courted his endorsement. I could have said mitt, drop to your knees. He would have dropped to his knees. He was begging. He was begging me. Reporter that lovefest was four years ago. Mitt is tough. He is smart. He is sharp. He is not going allow bad things to continue to happen to this country that we all love. I spent my life in the private sector. Not quite as successfuls that guy. Reporter after his speech mitt romney tweet head would have never accepted in 2012 had hoe he known what the frontrunner was saying now about the kkk, muslims and mexicans. As for the future, a source close to mitt romney said he is keeping his eyes open for a potential floor fight this summer. Jim acosta, cnn. What a day. The question now, how will romneys speech play in hurt organize inadvertently helping donald trump. Earlier, i put that question and others to republican consultant bruce haynes. So this is, as you said, its a troubling, if youre a republican, fascinating if youre skpmg examining it from sidelines point of view. From your point of view, is this just act one with mitt romney, or does this backfire on anymore and does it bolster donald trump . And nominate one of these other three candidates. Romney, its a pushpull with him. He opens certain doors for people, but he also, his presence is just going drive these people to be more strongly in opposition to the other three candidates. All right. I want to talk a little bit about this open convention and that magic number of 1237. Mr. Romney making it pretty clear, as you pointed out, hey, vote for cruz, vote for rubio, kasich, anyone but trump. Stop him from getting to that number, 2337. 1237. In your opinion, how viable is this lastditch effort . Well, i think its viable if two things that are in pretty short order on the calendar happen. I think were going to need to see governor kasich win his home state of ohio, claim the lions share of the delegates there. And then were going need to see senator rubio win his home state of florida. I think those are essentially two viability tests for those two candidates to go further and deeper into the race. Otherwise, ted cruz, senator cruz has won some state, including his home state of texas, but also more recently oklahoma, alaska, and the state of iowa, he may be the lone holdout who can try to go the distance with mr. Trump. So well see. I have ten seconds left. Very quickly, mitt romney. Does he throw his hat in the ring . Youre welcome. Thanks for having me. Well have more on the debate coming up, including what the voter theres in michigan thought about the debate. The republican supporters. Right now we want to turn to some compelling international headlines. Thats right. A threatening rhetoric coming from north korea and the leader kim jong un there a day after the u. N. Security Council Passed strict sanctions against pyongyang. State news agency kcna says kim has now ordered Nuclear Weapons to be ready for use, quote, at any time. The news agency also confirming the test fire of a new multiple launch rocket system. The pentagon says its aware of these reports and is closely monitoring the situation with its regional allies. A top aviation expert in mozambique is skeptical that debris that was found in the countrys coast is from a boeing 777, let alone mh370. He says the debris looked like it came from a midsized plane. And because of its condition, it probably hasnt been in the ocean for two years. But he says more analysis needs to be done. An american man on a mission to find the airline aer discovered the debris in the southeast african country over the weekend. David mckenzie is in mozambique for us. He joins us now live with more, david, on what this piece could or could not be. Well, thats right, natalie. It is a sense that this is of interest. But as george said there, a top aviation official here threw cold water on the theory that this might be a piece of the missing mh370, which in just days will be two years since it vanished on its way from malaysia to china with 239 souls on board. Blaine gibson is the airline enthusiast, the traveler who found this in the mozambican channel to my left where he said he found the object in shallow water. He was with local fishermen. It seems to be part of a plane of some kind. But mozambican officials saying because it doesnt seem to have much wear and tear and marine life, and the lettering on it seems it could maybe come from a smaller plane than a 777. But theyre taking it seriously enough that it will be sent to australia for analysis by officials and boeing officials. Certainly deepens the mystery of the missing plane. But at this stage, its unclear. And certainly its important to be skeptical about whether this is actually a clue. Natalie . Are they curious enough to keep looking in that area right there, david . There is no indication we have from officials that they are searching for any debris. Youll remember they did find a piece of mh370, the flap iron of the wing in reunion island east of madagascar in july last year. At that point they did comb the beaches looking for anything. They didnt find any debris from the plane then. The likelihood of someone finding it on a sand bank in mozambique like this is extremely small. But Stranger Things have happened in this story. It remains one of the biggest av aviation mysteries in history. The 777 that Everyone Wants to know what happened to. Absolutely. We will wait and see. David mckenzie there for news mozambique. Thank you. Now on to turkey, where at least two Police Officers are dead after a car bombing that took place near the syrian border. Turkeys semi official anadolu News Agency Reports members of the pkk detonated this bomb. Several other people were injured including civilians. The attack was reportedly carried out friday morning near a Police Station in the nusaybin district. Turkey considers the pkk a terror group. Donald trump has made a lot of claims, saying the families of 9 11 terrorists knew what was coming. Also calling fellow candidate marco rubios Job Performance into question. Fact checking is just ahead live for our viewers in paris, london, beijing, and points in between. Youre watching cnn worldwide. And welcome back to our viewers here in the United States and all around the world. We appreciate you joining us. Im natalie allen. And im george howell. Youre watching cnn newsroom live from atlanta with more on that Republican Debate. Lets talk about it. Insults, grand statements, and the occasional policy pitch. The candidates 11th debate was short on substance. It was long on personal attacks. Here is a quick recap. Hi. Hello. How you doing . Nice to be with you, megyn. Great to have you here. In this campaign for the last year, donald trump has basically mocked everybody with personal attacks. He referred to my hands. If theyre small, Something Else must be small. I guarantee you, there is no problem. I guarantee it. Okay. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. If the audience cannot understand when youre talking over each other. Count to ten, donald. Breathe, breathe, breathe. Lying ted. When theyre done with the yoga, can i answer a question . He is very flexible so you never know. Do you believe in cnn . I mean, i know were with fox. Do you think that donald trump is naive about the threat that Vladimir Putin represents . Im not biting. Let me just give you take you around the world, okay . Back in january, you gave an off the record interview to the New York Times. If tonight you tell the New York Times to release the audio, they will do it. I have too much respect for that process to say just release everything. I would not do that. Okay. But if in fact you went to manhattan and said im lying to the American People, do the voters have a right to know they said the plaintiffs against you are like the Madoff Victims. This is savol case, very easy to have settled. You know what they got in these courses . Stuff you can pull off zillow. Lets see what happens when this case is over. We need to learn to respect each other. Megyn, let me ask the voters at home. Is this the debate you want playing thought the general election . So the many claims and counter claims from donald trump during the debate. The question, do they pass the test . Cnns tom foreman runs a fact check on some of his assertions about the families of the 9 11 terrorists and about fellow candidate marco rubios Job Performance. Here is tom. The question is did he stumble down on his own a little bit when he brought up the 9 11 hijackers . He has argued that its perfectly fine to go after the families of terrorists because after all, these hijackers had wives with them. The wife knew exactly what was happening. They left two days earlier with respect to the World Trade Center. And they went back to where they went, and they watched their husband on television flying into the World Trade Center, flying into the pentagon, and probably trying to fly into the white house, except we had some very, very brave souls on that third plane. All right. Said this before. Here is the claim. Wives of 9 11 hijackers had prior knowledge of the attacks. Here is the only problem with that the most comprehensive study we have of this whole thing was the 9 11 commission report. They found of all the hijackers, only two of them were married. Their wives never came to the United States. And certainly not in the days or weeks before the attack there is simply no evidence to back this claim. It is false. Trump himself tried to deflect a little bit of this by going after other people. He went after marco rubios record. And like a boss, he said this guy doesnt show up to work. This guy has the number one number one absentee record in the United States. Id like to ask you a policy question. He doesnt show up to vote. Thats why the people in florida do not like him. It was chaos there, wasnt it . Marco rubio does not show up to vote in the senate. That is what he is saying, basically. Well, lets take a look at the record here. Missed votes in the senate, the average for u. S. Senators is 1. 7 . Marco rubio, look at that, a whopping 15 . Thats more than any of the other senators running for president. And it was more than any senator last year. So if you take that all into account, youre going to have to say that yeah, this claim by trump about rubio is true. Our Fact Checkers sit upstairs. They go through all of the debate, look for the fax, figure out what is true and false. Good to have them going through a lot of material. As the Republican Party erupts into civil war, Hillary Clinton is dealing with more questions about her email controversy. On the campaign trail, Bernie Sanders shies away from the topic. But attacks other parts of clintons record. Here is senior washington correspondent from the latest from the democratic side. Its jeff zeleny for us. After basking in the glow of elton john and katy perry wednesday night at one of the Clinton Campaigns biggest fundraisers this is it she spent the day out of public view, as questions about her public email returned. A former aide was granted immunity and will talk about the private server she used as secretary of state. It became instant fodder today for republicans. Assuming she is not arrested for the email situation, which is so terrible. Reporter he is fighting to win the nebraska and kansas caucuses on saturday and maine on sunday. On the other hand, maybe nebraska is not quite so conservative as ive been told. Reporter still, its an uphill climb for sanders. He has 405 to clintons 606. But when you factor in super delegates, clintons support soars, 1,074 to 126. Jeff, thanks. And those two candidates will face off for the First Time Since super tuesday on a cnn stage this weekend. Remember, you can tune in sunday for the democratic president ial debate, only here on cnn. We turn next to the migrant crisis. Migrants have sewn their lips shut to protest their relocation from the famous calais camp called the jungle. Next here well ask a volunteer medic about the situation on the ground. Its my decision to make beauty last. Fix. Roc retinol started visibly reducing my fine lines and wrinkles in one week. And the longer i use it the better it works. Retinol correxion from roc. Methods, not miracles. Makeshift homes that were burnt to the ground. Tear gas that was fired, and widespread panic, prompting arrests and injuries. Thats the situation in calais, france. And its never been more dire. And now migrants at the socalled jungle camp in the french city sew their lips together to protest the treatment that theyre getting. There are 3,000 residents, or have been in this camp. Most of course these people have escaped conflict and poverty in the middle east and north africa. The jungle represents just a tiny fraction, though, of the wider european migrant crisis. But the desperation of residents has become symbolic of the humanitarian disaster impacting millions across several countries. French authorities have begun dismantling that camp, siting the conditions there are unsanitary and unfit for human habitation. But some promigrant groups argue that the clearance itself is inhumane. Theyre concerned about the relocation options available to residents, most of whom want asylum in the uk. So lets talk more about the situation. Sophie muller joins us live from london. She is a volunteer medic with the support group calais refugee aid. Sophie, thank you for being was. Hi. We should point out you worked for several months in this camp. And when the police moved in, you slipped past police to see what was going on. What did you witness . Yeah, that was on monday. The police refused to let volunteers in. So i gave them my passport and once they were checking the details, i literally ran to the other side. The crs were moving in, theyre the riot police. There was probably about maybe 150, 200 officers. Huge mini buses full of police, water cannons, and other police were armed with tear gas canisters almost like guns that they fire into the camp from afar. So they just started dismantling these makeshift homes where these people have been staying because they have nowhere else to go. Theyre kind of stuck there, trying to get into the uk. Now where have all the people gone, the families that live there . Where can they go . They can move into the northern camp, which is the site that is last to be evicted. They were moved only five weeks ago, and again theyve been moved again. Some of the families applied for asylum in france, which takes months and months. France has one of the longest wait times for asylum. The children were physically moved into the northern camp. And we have recreated a children or family camp. So there is still the sense of community and safety. 500 of those children are unaccompanied. So its important that we keep them together and keep them with the Family Community that they look after each other. Its so important. Give us an example other than the children that there have no one to look out for them, something that you have experienced in trying to help these people and what their situation is there. There is a blind man from iraq who is a solicitor there is no one looking out for him. His friends all came to the uk, and he was left alone. And every time he left in the morning to go and get breakfast or to wash, he wouldnt find his tent again there are Vulnerable People there is a guy there with no legs who was caught in land mines. These are the Vulnerable People that need handson assistance 24 hours a day. Its not a straight forward as coming to the u. S. Those people will be stuck. There are women who have given birth in the camp who cant travel anywhere with newborns who rely on formula milk if they have had problems breastfeeding. Vulnerable people are literally trapped there. There was a lady two days ago who climbed on the roof of her shelter, heavily pregnant, and the police physically battered her down on to the floor. Hard handed tactics in that situation there. We appreciate you talk with us about it. Perhaps well talk with you again, and there will be something positive that happens on down the road. Thank you, sophie. Thank you. The freedom project is our Ongoing Mission against human trafficking. And we have come full circle. The freedom project now turns to case of a woman from cameroon who managed to break the bonds of modern day slavery, it was a previous freedom project story that inspired her to reach out for help. And now she is make it her own mission to make sure what happened to her does not happen to someone else. Here is cnns claire sebastian. This is kristen. Reporter in august last year, the cnn freedom project aired a story profiling former ford model ceo katie ford and her fight against human trafficking. When i arrived, this hungarian man picked me up in the airport, took me to his apartment. Before long i realized that this guy was a pimp. Its just so shocking. It is out of our consciousness. Reporter 6,000 miles from fords home in new york city, the story had an immediate impact. Francisca, a 32yearold from southwestern cameroon was watching from kuwait. She says she had been trafficked there into domestic servitude. She contacted katie fords organization, and they began communicating via email. This is the first time i have been contacted by somebody who was enslaved at that time. Reporter encourage and advised by ford, she managed to leave the household where she was working and take refuge in a friend di embassy. Katie ford helped her pay for her flight home. Its not what we do. And we couldnt afford to do it for everyone. But we had been through the whole thing with her. We had committed to helping her get out of that situation. So it seemed false for me to stop there. Reporter having arrived back in africa, she was keen to tell us her story. So what happened when you arrived in kuwait . In kuwait, just at the airport, my passport, my travel documents were being seized. So i was just taken by family that claimed that they were my sponsors. Immediately, i went home with them. And i found myself being a house maid instead of the teaching job i was been promised before leaving cameroon. Reporter awah says she was employ bade local agency. She moved households several times before arriving at one where she stayed two months. She says she saw her passport a couple of times, but it was never returned to her. Gradually she says the conditions worsened. I have no time to rest. Even when the lady comes and im in the kitchen, she ask me, francisca, i bought you. You are like a commodity. You get up and work. You call me, i pay you money, you work. Reporter she kept records, photos, and even videos on her phone. And whenever possible, she watched cnn. Watching cnn freedom project was like giving me that one day ill be like those people they have helped. Reporter did you ever tell the family that you wanted to leave . Did you ever ask to leave . I ask the wife severally and the husband, i ask him once. I use the pretense of my son being a street child so they can have pity on my son and allow me to go home. But the wife bluntly told me, she pointed to the television and said you are like that television. I bought you. You cant go like that. My money is valuable. You have to pay my money back. And then you pay a flight before you leave is the country. Reporter i did contact the man she worked for and they denied they stopped her leaving, saying this was ultimately the agencys decision. He also denied his wife had demanded that she paid back the money they paid to the agency for her. She says she wasnt overworked, that she worked no more than eight hours a day as stated in the contract from the agency. He did admit, though, that she did not sign that contract. He said she had a telephone that they paid for and money for things like ice cream. As for her passport, he told me she had asked him to hold it for her safely. We offered him a chance to appear on cnn. He declined. The agency in kuwait also refused to answer our questions. We did speak to a diplomat at the embassy where awah took refuge when she left the house. He did not want to be named. He did, though, confirm the date she arrived and said she was sick and exhausted. He said he called and confronted the man whose house she had worked him. He convinced him to return her passport. Kuwait is classified as one of the most problematic countries in the world when it comes to human trafficking. The u. S. Trafficking and persons report ranks it as tier 3, meaning it doesnt comply with the minimum standards of protecting trafficking victims. Kuwait did pass a landmark law that would deem giving workers enforceable labor rights, giving pay and labor hours that is set to come into force this year. If you want to travel out, be very careful. Reporter as for francisca awah, she is now working on her own campaign to raise awareness about trafficking. Her mission is to try to stop other young people from following her path. I have me who are all there still wanting to go, to stop it at any means. And im standing here to talk to people today is to make them really know what im saying is real. Reporter cnn, new york. Tec. Say, have you seen all the Amazing Technology in geicos mobile app . Mobile app . Look. Electronic id cards, emergency roadside service, i can even submit a claim. Wow. Yep, geicos mobile app works like a charm. Geico. Expect great savings and a whole lot more. Well, weve spent a lot of time analyzing the bruising Republican Debate. But we want to know where do voters stand there in michigan. What do they think of it . Cnns gary tuchman joined a viewing party in grand rapids to find out. We are in kent county, michigan here in grand rapids. Hello, everybody. Thanks for inviting us. I want to ask you first of all who is supporting after this debate cruz . Rubio . Okay. Trump. So far cruz is leading. Kasich . All right. So very interesting. Kasich needs to do well in michigan and ohio and home state. He is doing well in this county, no question about it. One thing i need to ask all of you at this point is a lot of you were cringing during these insults and criticisms that we heard during this debate. This is the liveliest debate in terms of those criticisms. How many of you were upset about hearing all those criticisms and insults . And thats pretty much everybody. Thats pretty much everybody. Im going to ask you over here. Tell me why that bothers you. It makes it livelier. People ra paying attention. Why does it bother you . I think its good for substance to come out and we need to see who these people really are. But its embarrassing. Its not what our party is about. It doesnt represent me. I dont want a candidate that is going to representing my party and me as an american that is constantly going to be insulting everyone everywhere they go. How many of you when you walked in here today were undecided, didnt know which candidate you wanted to support for president . Raise your hand. Yu right there, are you still undecided about, now that the last debate before the primary tuesday is over, have you decided . I have not decided. Im still undecided. Who are you deciding between . I like john kasich and i like ted cruz. How are you going to decide in you have to vote in a couple of days . Ill have to figure it out. What will make you decide . You know, i like that i felt like donald trump was the candidate on the stage that had the most was the most confident. But yet i did not like all the insults and the back and forth. This is not Donald Trumps best crowd. It leads me to this final question that is if donald trump gets the republican nomination, would any of you not vote for the nominee, donald trump . Thats a lot of people in this room. Would any of you vote for a democrat instead of donald trump . So we have five hands in the Republican Party headquarters, in the home of gerald r. Ford who would vote for a democrat. Ill leave you with this. Are you still all proud republicans . Okay. Thank you for having us. And we have learned a lot from this room. It will be interesting to see what happens because of tonights debate. All right. More coverage of the Republican Debate in just a few minutes. Thanks for watching. Im natalie allen. And im george howell. The news continues on cnn after this break. Insults and attacks launching the republican president ial debate. They reached a new low. Was anyone able to rise above the fray .
