The cops say the suspect were Tactical Gear and a kevlar helmet and they also say he tried to throw a molotov cocktail at the hotel and meantime authorities in oregon said a brazen shooting at a Grocery Store left two people dead and two others injured and they say the suspect killed himself right after leaving behind his shot gun and ar 15 rifle. A Police Spokesman told reporters today that the incident couldve been much worse were it not for a store worker who fought back against the shooter. Attorney client privilege could protect a limited number of the documents that the fbi seized at former President Trumps estate in florida. That is according to a new court filing from the Justice Department lawyers. They say a team finished reviewing all of the material for more than a dozen boxes that fbi agents took earlier this month. It comes after a federal judge in florida said on saturday that she was leaning towards appointing a neutral third party, one known as a special master to comb through the records. That person would conduct their own search for attorneyclient privilege material and the former president s legal team requested the move and the judge said a hearing for thursday. And on friday, theredacted affi lays out the reasoning for the search. It reveals that the fbi found 184 documents with classification markings including 25 marked topsecret that mr. Trump handed over to the National Archives back in january. Agent said they believe the former president still had classified documents at his florida home and they said they fear some of those materials could expose intelligence sources including spies should they fall into the wrong hands. Mr. Trumps lawyers have argued that he did have authority as president to declassify all of the documents. The former general counsel of National Intelligence under the Obama Administration is with us now who is now current the and attorney. Good to see you and thank you and if the Justice Departments team has already gone through all of this stuff, what is the point of assigning a special master . I want to start by making a caution. If you do read todays filing closely, they dont actually say they have gone through all of the materials. The way the search warrant was constructed was this special Privilege Team searched the room in the regular team searched the rest of the offices. The departments filing today said the special Privilege Team has finished its review, but it doesnt say they have actually completed the review of all of the other documents. Having said that, i think theres a real question of how valuable a special master would be at this point because that would only make recommendations to a judge and the procedures approved when the search warrant was issued already provides the privileged team identifying potentially privileged documents and they would bring them to the judge for a decision. Its not at all clear whether a special master would accomplish anything other than potentially an opportunity for delay by the former president. The director of the National Intelligence said her office will assess the damage potentially done by the seizing of the documents. What could we expect from that, and how different is that from what the fbi is doing . So to answer your second question, it is completely different. The fbi is conducting a criminal investigation to determine whether National Security information was improperly stored, whether president ial records were improperly taken, and whether there was obstruction of justice in the course of the departments investigation. The office of the director of National Intelligence will look at those classified materials found at the president s home at maralago and say what is the potential risk to us if this material were to fall into the hands of a Foreign Government and what sources may be exposed or methods exposed, what information may be exposed . This is routine practice whenever there is what we call a skill of classified information. But its separate from what the fbi is doing and we probably wont ever learn about it. The whole thing starts with a simple message from a seemingly friendly stranger but often it ends with emotional and financial ruin. They call it pig butchering and they lead people on building up trust and relationship and then quickly move in for the kill, kind of like fattening up a pig for slaughter. We break it down. I never doubted he was a fake but i totally believe the whole story. Reporter meet jane. Not her real name. She asked us to hide her identity because she said she is embarrassed and she doesnt want the world to know that she fell for a scam that primarily targets people looking for love. I trust people to easily. Reporter she met her scammer on her phone and dating app and it started easily enough. We quickly move from the app to daily text messaging and phone calls. Reporter things got serious quickly. I want to help you because we will build a life together. Reporter her scammer sent her to a fake crypto account where they would Start Building their nest and she started sinking her money in, almost everything by the time she figured out it was a scam, the losses were staggering. Close to 400,000. I didnt protect myself. They will target somebody vulnerable who just came out of a relationship or somebody that if you are a single mom. Reporter brian bruce is the chief Operations Officer for the global antiscam organization and he said the money that jane lost is on the low end of the scale. Significant amounts of money and we are talking victims like 2. 5 million or 1. 6 billion. One of the more common ways they do it is to send a random text message supposedly looking like a wrong number. They apologize but then they try to start a friendship and maybe more. That is when they really interact and they say okay get your money over and transfer your money and will you do it today . Reporter most people figure it out, but others, they said that crooks got away with more than 1 billion last year alone and a devastating amount for bank accounts. I was already kind of prepared to be alone for the rest of my life. Because i know the person i am looking for is a very low chance i will meet this person and after this scam i am like i should even give myself that chance.
