We had almost got lulled into a false sense of security because people were getting relocated to where we were so we that we must be in the safe zone, ok here, and then about five or six hours later there was a knock on the door and away you go, so we got bundled into a van, honestly it was like a scene out of a vietnam war film, all of these open top military bosses and people just stayed absolutely crammed into them to get this lift into the beach and when you got to the beach, thousands of tourists, there must been a handful greek volunteers saying. Get this lift down to the beach. So we got on a boat and that what they said as usual and literally these were military. Soldiers in camouflage uniform getting is on there. They were absolutely brilliant with the kids. Just so good. All of the people of rhodes have just been so amazing with us, but we went up to the same School Without electricity and without power and we were really looked after by the locals, but the bit that got me, we were with tui as well, we were told we would get a flight home, Alternative Accommodation or go back to our original accommodation, and about an hour later we got an e mail essentially saying just sort yourself out with flights and accommodation. And you are thinking, well, you know there is no hotels, you know there is no flights, so what are we meant to do with that . They basically said we need to sleep in an abandoned school with no water and no electricity until such a time as we can get away, so we werent happy with that, we went to the airport to see what we could soar. By chance we met up with a tui rep there and they told us about a hotel down the coast people could go and stay in so we managed to get down there, any Function Room and imagine match on the floor which was perfectly comfortable and a really nice hotel and we were looked after. But the overriding reflection of it was the people of rhodes, amazing. They tui reps on the ground were really good. But the communications and the corporate Decision Making from tui in and around what they would do was not good enough for the first 24 hours.
