For a vigil in Manchester City centre in memory of those who died. And this afternoon, the queen led a minutes silence at buckingham palace, along with senior members of the royal family. Hello and welcome. Its 7am in singapore, and midnight across the uk, where Prime Minister theresa may has announced that the Security Services are increasing the threat level posed by terrorism to its highest grade. It comes after a Suicide Bomber detonated his vest at a Music Concert In Manchester on monday evening, killing 22 people. Heres my colleague Christian Fraser In Manchester. Very good evening. Welcome to Albert Square In Manchester. We have had a moving vigil here earlier this evening. Hundreds of people packed into the square to hear tributes to those who died, and to the victims who are still being treated in hospital. At this time last night, this precise time, the Emergency Services were reacting to reports of an explosion. The Manchester Arena was packed with people, with a sell out 21,000 people there, too see Ariana Grande. They had a good time, and as they were leaving, in high spirits, the night was turned on its head. In the foyer, between the concert hall and victoria station, salman abedi, a 22 year old man, formerly a Manchester United fan, with libyan connections, or himself up in the foyer, in a position where he could cause the maximum damage and death. He did it among so many maximum damage and death. He did it among so many young people. Today, there have been a lot of Police Activity and friendly work going on around the arena. They are trying to get to grips with the investigation. They are trained to find out more about Who Salman Abedi is. , but tonight, the Prime Minister came out and said they do not know enough about the Support Network there. They have increased the threat level to critical, meaning that an attack could be imminent. Lets you what she had to say. Lets hear what she had to say. It is now being concluded that the threat level should be increased for the time being from severe to critical. This means that their assessment is not only that an attack remains highly likely, but that a further attack may be imminent. The change in the threat level means that there will be Additional Resources and support made available to the police as they work to keep us all safe. As a result ofjtacs decision, the police have asked for authorisation from the Secretary Of State for defence to deploy a numberofarmed personnel in support of their Police Officers. This request is part of a well established plan, known as Operation Tempura, in which the police and armed forces involved are well trained and well prepared to work in this kind of environment. The Secretary Of State for defence has approved the request and Operation Tempura is in force. That was the Prime Minister speaking a little earlier after the cobra meeting. This is the second she has shed today. She was here In Manchester earlier today, getting to grips with the investigation, and hearing from Greater Manchester police. I should tell you a little about the death toll and the victims. The death toll is still at 22. 59 people are being treated in hate hospitals in the Greater Manchester area. Eight hospitals. The death toll might rise. Lets tell you a little about the sequence of events last night. Police were cold to the venue at 10 33pm last night. As people were leaving, the excursion happened in the foyer, connecting to victoria rain station. Casualties were treated in eight hospitals. In fact, casualties were treated in eight hospitals. Infact, 60 hospitals, not just hospitals. Infact, 60 hospitals, notjust in hospitals. Infact, 60 hospitals, not just In Manchester, hospitals. Infact, 60 hospitals, notjust In Manchester, but from northern wales, as well, responded. Many of those, as i say, are still being treated in hospital, tonight. 0ur being treated in hospital, tonight. Our first being treated in hospital, tonight. 0urfirst report comes being treated in hospital, tonight. Our first report comes from gavin hewitt. I should warn you there are some distressing images in the report. Ariana grandes concert was coming to an end, when, from the foyer, the sound of an explosion. There were screams, then running. A crowd of children, teenagers, parents, heading for whatever exit they could find. 22 people were killed near the entrance. Nearly 60 were injured. Suddenly a massive flash and bang. Smoke. My wife, i laid her down on the floor. Shes got bruising. She had one that slided under her chin, and bruised. Shes probably broken a femur in her left leg. Something really hot flew over and landed behind me and my sister. We dropped to the floor. My mum told me to run, but i thought they were behind me, so i ran out. Then i realised they werent, so i tried to run back in because i was worried. I shouted for my mum but i couldnt hear anything. My ear is all blocked. It was really scary. All i could hear was screaming, people crying. Everyone was running everywhere. It was complete madness. It was like out of a film, everybody cramming through. Everybody was screaming. People had cuts all over their legs. The injured were taken to eight hospitals across Greater Manchester. Some families and friends were split up in the rush to get emergency treatment. Armed police units patrolled the streets by the arena. Before the night was over, the police knew they were dealing with an attack by a Suicide Bomber with a home made Explosive Device packed with metalfragments. During the night, specialist teams were brought in in case there were other Explosive Devices. It was a deliberate attack on children and young people, timed just at the moment when parents were waiting to pick up their sons and daughters. 400 Police Officers were deployed, along with forensic teams. Early on, police appeared to know the identity of the bomber, but they didnt reveal his name until late afternoon. I can confirm that the man suspected of carrying out last nights atrocity is 22 year old salman abedi. However, he has not been formally named by the coroner, and i wouldnt wish to, therefore, comment any further about him at this stage. Salman abedi was the son of refugees, a student at salford university. 0n the streets, today, survivors, reliving the terror of a concert that ended with murder. This is helen and isabella mccourt. We hit the corridor, when we saw masses of people running in absolute terror and panic to get out of the place. Young teenage children, 1a, 15. There were mothers with children, carrying them over their shoulder. There were people with even wheelchairs panicking to get out. Laura and Isabella Eames concert ended in a chaotic search for an exit. Wejust ran. I dont really know which entrance we came out of. We just ran, because it but we also found two girls that had lost their parents, or had to get home on their own. So they were in tow. They were very scared, obviously, because they were on their own. Manchester has been a city on edge, today, shaken by alerts and rumours. And a Shopping Centre evacuated. It is now beyond doubt that the people of manchester and of this country have fallen victim to a callous Terrorist Attack. An attack that targeted some of the youngest people in our society with cold calculation. This was amongst the worst Terrorist Incidents we have ever experienced in the united kingdom. Although it is not the first time that manchester has suffered in this way, it is the worst attack that the city has experience, and the worst ever to hit the north of england. Dozens of people are still tried to trace loved ones after last nights bombing. Amongst those missing is 15 year old 0livia campbell. And some of the first victims have been named. Georgina callander was aged 18, seen here with Ariana Grande at a previous event. John atkinson, aged 28, from bury. And eight year old Saffie Roussos was amongst those killed. It was an attack directed at young people and innocence. During the day, police raided a number of houses. A 23 year old man was arrested in connection with yesterdays bomb attack. An attack on a family event like what happened last night has long been feared. Preventing a determined Suicide Bomber is incredibly difficult. The priority now for the police will be to discover everything they can about this man whether he is part of a wider network, and whether there is a risk of further attacks. Today, thousands of people came together outside the town hall, in a sign of defiance. One by one, members of different faiths said they would not be cowed. These were sikhs with placards that read i love manchester. Then a reading by local poet tony walsh. Theres hard times again in these streets of our city. But we wont take defeat. And we dont want your pity. Because this is the place where we stand strong together, with a smile on our face. Mancunians forever because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes, because this is the place that is a part of our bones, because manchester gives us such strength from the fact that this is the place defiant, yes, but questions, too, as to what drove a young man to murder so many. Gavin hewitt, bbc news, manchester. Extraordinary in that vigil there that there was a spontaneous round of applause. The loudest applause of the evening for the Emergency Services. It is worth remembering, talking about the bravery of the Emergency Services, last night, as people were fleeing from the arena, the paramedics and Police Officers we re the paramedics and Police Officers were running towards it. At that point, they would not have known if there was a secondary device that had been planted. So extraordinary bravery from the Emergency Services, that must be committed. Gavin spoke a little about the victims. Let me just reiterate that the first victim to be named was georgina callander, and a tenure of student coming here, and a tenure of student coming here, and a tenure of student coming here, and a big fan of Ariana Grande. You would have seen that intergraph at issue posted on sunday. And the youngest to be named so far was Saffie Roussos, at just youngest to be named so far was Saffie Roussos, atjust eight years old, from lancashire. They were among the thousands who travelled to the arena, expecting and hoping for a fantastic night out, last night, and of course, that was turned on its head. With the story of the victims this evening, we go to ed thomas. The youngest life lost eight year old Saffie Roussos, at the concert with her mother and sister from lancashire. Today, her headteacher said she was simply a beautiful little girl, loved by everyone. Also killed, student georgina callander. She idolised Ariana Grande. This was the teenager meeting the singer in 2015. This afternoon, Runshaw College in leyland said. It is devastating. My daughter went to school this morning and i was just praying that nobody else from a school was killed. Around 11am, it was announced that georgina had been confirmed. That she passed away last night. And then another one down the road. So probably within four miles, two young girls have died. And the latest of the 22 who died to be named, John Atkinson from bury. Friends said the 28 year old old was an amazing young man. And tonight, people are still waiting to hearfrom loved ones. People like Chloe Rutherford and liam curry from south shields. And Courtney Boyle and philip tron from gateshead. Behind every face, a desperate search. You havent seen this girl by any chance, have you . Excuse me . Im just asking if youve seen this young girl. Have you seen this girl . She was at the concert last night. This is the uncle of 15 year old 0livia campbell. Her family asked us and other media to show her picture and publicise the search from hotels to hospitals. Weve been as close as we can to the arena to see if we can. Weve been in the back streets, and weve been to this hospital, a couple more. Weve got friends and family that went to other hospitals. Weve got friends in blackburn who work there. Theyre looking at their hospital. Were just coming to an end. All we need to do is get in contact with her. If anybody sees her, anybody knows where she is, all we want is a phone call and we can go and get her. Manchester is also thinking of the injured. 59 people were taken to hospital. It is thought that 12 of the casualties are children under 16. Clearly, there are a number of individuals who have, you know, very, very serious injuries, and require intensive care. And people are going to be in hospitalfor a long time. And tonight, at least some cause for hope. Laura mcintyre, on the left, has been found in hospital, in a serious condition. But alive. Herfriend is missing. It is beyond the comprehension. Laura is in hospital with serious injuries. We have no more information on amy macleod then we did this morning. That is deeply concerning. So many young lives changed in seconds. There were many tears tonight in Albert Square and i think there will be more tears to come as we learn more about the victims. So many of them young people. Lets talk more about the Prime Minister who spoke in the past hour outside downing street. She has raised the threat level from severe to critical which means that in the view of the authorities, the threat of a Terrorist Attack is imminent. Lets speak to Alex At Westminster who was watching that speech. She said it was proportionate, Alexandre Sensible approach given that they do not know enough about salman abedi at the moment. Of course, it is in the middle of an Election Campaign so what is the politics of this . The Prime Minister and her team were quite clear in the speech she gave that this is a decision that was made on the basis of a recommendation by an independent body. That is the joint terrorism analysis centre, it is those Intelligence Experts and Security Experts who say what the threat level of the uk should be and i think part of the reason for that is to re m ove think part of the reason for that is to remove the politics and to make an assessment aced on intelligence and operational information as to what is best for the country. Theresa may was very clear in a speech she gave back yesterday that she thought this was a proportionate and sensible response. Also that she did not want people to be unduly alarmed because undoubtedly theresa may will recognise that some of the measures that were outlined this evening that are being taken, not just the fact that the threat level has been raised to critical, but also the fact that there has been authorisation for armed forces to go onto the streets, to guard key locations, to have a role in the security of major events, to free up more armed Police Officers. There is a natural reaction among the public which would be one of increased concern, particularly in light of a magnitude that we saw of the events In Manchester. I think one theresa may and the government are trying to do is to reassure, was still keeping the country as safe as possible. I promised you that we would hear from new Scotland Yard this evening. We need more detail on how this operation is now going to unfold and where the soldiers will be put and how that will affect policing around the country. Lets hear from the Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations in the metropolitan police. The investigation at the moment is a massive investigation and quite fast moving and we are making good progress. Colleagues have been discussing it in the course of the day, the public will be aware of the arrest that has been made. There is more work continuing. However, as we said through the last 2a hours, the critical line of enquiry is looking at whether the dead terrorist was acting alone or part of a group. We are 2a hours in, we have critical lines of enquiry that we are urgently chasing down but that leaves a degree of uncertainty which leads jtac to judge that the threat level must be raised to critical, meaning a further attack may be imminent. That happens rarely and briefly. People would be expecting the police to do extraordinary things, Anything Possible to protect them. So the first thing we do is to Stretch Police forces, cancel leave, mobilise plans and we can double our officers on the street. Over the top of that, looking experiences overseas, we have a plan with the military where the army will step forward to support us in our work. This is the Operation Temperer referenced by the Prime Minister. We asked for permission for that to go forward and they have supported that. What that means is that all of those extra Police Officers on the street already will be augmented by Military Support. The first phase, those Military Officers will take over some of our Guarding Duties at key locations, freeing up Police Officers tojoin colleagues on the street. Subsequent to that, we could use Military Support police at key locations of key events. That was the Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations at the metropolitan police reiterating once long more that the threat level in the uk has been raised from severe to critical, meaning a Terrorist Attack is imminent. 0n the developments from manchester on our website and we will be back with that story in a few minutes time. But look at some of the other news of the day. Donald trump has promised to do everything to help israel and the palestinians achieve peace. He was speaking On The Last Day of his visit to the middle east, before flying to rome. Mr trump, who met with both the israeli and palestinian leaders, said he felt both sides were ready to reach for peace. 0ur middle east Editorjeremy Bowen sent this report. The Separation Barrier around jerusalem is a symbol of security for israel is, of occupation for palestinians. The Trump Motorcade came into Palestinian Bethlehem through a checkpoint in the wall. Peacemaking requires reconciling two views of nationalism, history and politics. President trump and the Palestinian President have a p pa re ntly Palestinian President have apparently struck up a good Working Relationship both condemned the attack In Manchester and offered condolences. Most palestinians do not believe that donald trump Will Pressure israel to allow palestinian independence. President of palestine hopes for the best. Mr president , i hopes for the best. Mr president , i hope that it will go in history that President Donald Trump was the american president who achieved peace between the palestinians and the israelis. Back in jerusalem, President Trump paid is respect to the 6 million killed in the holocaust. Braut he expressed strong support for israel. Benjamin netanyahu, support for israel. Benjamin neta nyahu, the support for israel. Benjamin netanyahu, the israeli Prime Minister says the palestinians will not accept israel as a jewish state and are not serious about making peace. President trump disagrees. They are ready to reach for peace. I know you have heard it before. I am telling you, they are ready to reach for peace. And in my meeting with my very good friend benjamin i can tell you also that he is reaching for peace. He wants peace. During his time injerusalem, peace. He wants peace. During his time in jerusalem, president peace. He wants peace. During his time injerusalem, President Trump offered no specifics about how he would make peace with so many others had failed. Mrtrump would make peace with so many others had failed. Mr trump is correct on one point, this is a conflict that badly needs settling. If that is not possible, they have political progress. History shows that when there is none, the void left by the absence of hope tends to be filled with bloodshed. The veteran british actor, roger moore, has died at the age of 89. He was best known for playing the secret agent james bond in seven films, and later worked as an ambassador for unicef. Asked about the secret of his acting success, he said that while he played heroes, he never felt like one himself so he always tried to play the parts with humour and charm. Before we go, lets take a look at these pictures from manchester. The vigilfor these pictures from manchester. The vigil for the these pictures from manchester. The vigilfor the victims of these pictures from manchester. The vigil for the victims of the Suicide Bombing at the concert in Manchester Arena. 22 people are known to have been killed. The youngest victim so far identified was just eight years old. As for the attacker, we are learning that he is salman abedi, a man, we understand was born in the uk to libyan parents. In another development, in a specially arranged address light from downing street, the british Prime Minister theresa may has announced that the threat to the uk from terrorism has been moved to its highest level. From severe to critical. That means an attack is possibly thought to be imminent. Members of the armed forces will be deployed alongside the police as a response. Plenty more on our website. Hello. Tuesday was a predominantly dry day with the half the country seemed the best of the country. If we look at the weather watch a picture from herefordshire, this illustrates the point nicely. There was cloud topping and telling the country in the cloud fit enough for outbreaks of showery rain the far north West Of Scotland. This is how we closed out the day yesterday with cloud and rain in the north and a little cloud lingering down to the south west and that will still be with us first thing this wednesday morning. Some coastal and some sea fog here. It will be quite a warm start, however, to the day. Mid teens already in service to temperatures are set to lift as we go through the morning was that we keep the cloud to the south west with the best of the brightness really across south eastern and eastern areas. We will chase cloud through the day but we get the best of the sunshine and temperatures will respond. Into Northern Ireland was start off or showery outbreaks of rain to the north and west of Scotla Nd Of Rain to the north and West Of Scotland but these will primarily sit towards the north west of the great glen and as we go through the day a couple showers will filter further east. They will be offloaded by then. Elsewhere, broken cloud, some sunshine and when we got the best of the sunshine, but which will respond. But despite cloud around it will be a warm day for all of us, generally at around 19 or 25 degrees. Maybe a little bit fresher in the final. 0ne. Degrees. Maybe a little bit fresher in the final. One. One thing is for certain, later on in the week we keep that dry theme and there will be more in the way of sunshine. As a consequence, which will respond. Warm to hot in places, particularly in the south west corner. We considerfirst signs in the south west corner. We consider first signs of that on thursday with decent spells of sunshine coming through much of the country and you can see that we will see high 20s likely into the south east corner, maybe as high as 23 or 2a south east corner, maybe as high as 23 or24 in south east corner, maybe as high as 23 or 2a in sheltered Western Areas of scotland. This area of High Pressure may drift further east and that will allow it to continue to drag up even that will allow it to continue to drag up even warmer that will allow it to continue to drag up even warmer airfrom the near continent but at the same time, however, there is a potentialfor a weather front to push on from the west. As we move on friday in into the start of the weekend, yes it is a bank holiday weekend, there is a potential for some of us to see 30 degrees however, with that front knocking on the door there is also the potential for a thundery breakdowns. Did not make this the last forecast you as if the bank holiday weekend. There is the potential for sharp thundery downpours to moving from the south west, of it, however, it will say quite warm with lots of sunshine. Hello. Im Karin Giannone with bbc news. Our top story the threat level is raised following the concert attack. After 22 people were killed in the Suicide Bombing, it may has warned that a further attack could be imminent. She also announced that soldiers will be deployed to protect key sites. Investigators have been unable to rule out whether the bombing suspect acted alone. He has been named by police as a locally born man of libyan descent. The dt rolled salman abedi. Thousands of people have gathered for a vigil in Manchester City centre, in memory of those died. Amongst the dead, georgina callander, John Atkinson, and sassy resource, who was just eight years old. Stay with us for more news on the bombing. When theresa may an ounce on tuesday evening that the threat level was being raised from severe to critical, she did so after a day and investigations into the attacker who blew himself up at the Manchester Arena, killing 22. Attacker who blew himself up at the manchesterarena, killing 22. Saffie roussos. By midday, police had arrested a 23 old man, thought to be of manchester and of libyan descent. 0ne protein is to find out if he was working alone or as part ofa if he was working alone or as part of a network that might have been planning under attack. One priority. Mark easton has the latest on the investigation. His report contains some flashing images. Who was behind this attack on innocence . As the concert ended and the lights came up, as children left for home, music in their ears, smiles on their young faces, who chose that moment to indulge their hateful ideology . Theres no need to bunch up and run take yourtime and exit the building. Police are convinced the Suicide Bomber was salman abedi, but working with the Security Services, Counterterrorism Officers are desperate to try to work out if he had a commerce is bought is still at large. Our parretti is to continue to establish whether he was acting alone or working as part of a wider network. Priority. Alone or working as part of a wider network. Priority. The man named as the Suicide Bomber is salman abedi, aged 22, and born In Manchester. He is the son of libyan refugees who fled from libya and colonel gaddafi. He supported Manchester United and later worked ina Manchester United and later worked in a bakery. Today, officers launched raids on people thought to be his associates. A 23 year old man was arrested in a manchester district. A short distance away, at another house, a controlled explosion took place. It was like when you watch films, and you hear a boom go off, but like more muffled. It was lately what you see in a movie. Everybody was scared at that moment. It really hit home that it was real, on our doorstep. This party, pa rt of was real, on our doorstep. This party, part of the city was known to be the home of several extras in the last years, some that link to syria and libya. Salman abedi is thought to have returned from the libyan capital, triply, just a few days go. To co nstru ct capital, triply, just a few days go. To construct a viable bomb that can be secreted through security and then detonated on command is not something an avid that can easily achieve. Tripoli. Police said the device was home made, with reports are contained nuts, bolts, ballbearings, and nails. The view among Security Experts is that the attack bears all the hallmarks of a co ordinated operation. Attack bears all the hallmarks of a coordinated operation. This attack was planned, premeditated, and they almost certainly will be other people involved in this attack. The most important thing is to catch them, to identify them, and to bring them, to identify them, and to bring them into custody. And until we have done that, this attack really is not over. Almost exactly one year ago, police and Emergency Services In Manchester held a Training Exercise forjust this kind of terrorist incident. A number of years, the threat level has been set at severe, meaning an attack is highly likely. Now, it has moved up to critical, an attack is expected imminently. Understandably, the city is nervous. People on edge. But there is a determination not to be cowed by terror. Manchester united is the fitting response to the attack on their Manchester City. We spoke to a fellow from the George Washington centre on extremism. We spoke to a fellow from the George Washington Centre On Extremismlj think Washington Centre on extremism. think we are dealing with more than one person. I have a hard time believing that this individual who is being named was alone in the fashioning of the ied, and everything goes into the Production Ofa Bomb everything goes into the production of a bomb and then the execution, i suspect that he has associates, if not handlers, and i think that is why the threat level was raised from severe to critical, and why we have reports that the Defence Ministry forces are being called in to help in dealing with the terrorist situation. So your perspective is this sort of device could not be made by Somebody Acting on their own . Yes. We hear the United States a few years back, i think in 2010, with the attempt to explode a device in times square in new york city, and that individual was not able to do so, because he lacked the tradecraft. He had a lot of motivation. He was sufficiently radicalise to where he tried to do it, but then got caught. This requires a certain level of tradecraft to get this right. There isa tradecraft to get this right. There is a method to this madness, an insidious method to the madness that we cannot overlook. Therefore, i think we are dealing with a sophisticated apparatus that is able to produce these kind of attacks. So radicalism is not enough to get somebody to the point of doing what we saw happened last night. How worrying is that, now, then for Security Forces . The possibility there might be somebody out there manufacturing this, assisting people who are radicalise, getting in contact, somehow, for them to be to do further attacks. This is a worrying trend. I think this is why the Intelligence Services and other Security Agencies are not taking any chances. We have to assume that there is some level of an organisation, and network, a cell, thatis organisation, and network, a cell, that is acting in terms of aid middle management, that seeks to groom these people, crewmen to make these attacks. There is this model, there is a theory, that their art london rules. Groom them. Lone wolves. Since 2005, at the attacks on the london transport network, we have not seen this kind of attack. We thought in a way that things are moving a different direction, much simpler and less sophisticated attacks, people using vehicles and knives. What has changed . attacks, people using vehicles and knives. What has changed . I think what has changes we are dealing with theice what has changes we are dealing with the ice phenomenon. The isis phenomenon on, we can to look at it in terms of them losing territory, so we think they are weakening. And then things like this happen, and he will get surprise. We should not be surprised, because we should not assume loss of territory means that the group and its operational facility has been compromised. That isa facility has been compromised. That is a separate realm. Back in 7 7, we we re is a separate realm. Back in 7 7, we were dealing with People Associated with al qaeda, who are much more primitive, compared with isis. 0ver time, the terrorists have improved their capabilities and greatly so. What is enabling them to do that . What is enabling them to do that . What has changed over those years . Is technology helping the terrorists, such as encrypted networks, like whatsapp, ways of communicating . I think that the tradecraft has really spread. It has spread to a larger group of people, they are of the next generation, if you will. Definitely Information Technology has grown by Leaps And Bounds that also allows people to plan and execute these kinds of attacks. This is a generational shift. Attacks. This is a generational shift. Next generation. We used oure mail shift. Next generation. We used our e mail lists, and then discussion boards, now social media. The same logic applies here. We should not assume that the bad guys are not learning the time. In fact, they spend a great deal of resources try to improve their capabilities and work around and circumvent the new Security Protocols that governments try to put up. So the question is then what are the authorities to do about the phenomenon is it . There might be some sort of electronic trail. 0r have they got so good to wipe the electronic footprints that it is getting harderfor electronic footprints that it is getting harder for authorities . Every body makes mistakes. They leave some sort of clue or trail. An electronic footprint. I suspect Law Enforcement agencies will be up to track it down at some point in the investigation. What bothers me is that their ability to avoid detection in the state of repression. Were not talking about one day or a week. We are talking about an extended period of time in which they prepare, they train, they practise. They put the device together, and they managed to remain below the radar, evading detection. That is really troubling. We are not able to detect it ahead of time. That is a fellow with washington universitys project on extremism. Let us s show you what has been going on In Manchester. A vigilfor the victims of the Suicide Bombing. Lets show. The youngest victim so far was just eight years old. The people of manchester have been gathering together to show defiance and so support for the victors. Thousands of people in the city centre today. Victims. Lets remind you of our main stories this hour after 22 people were killed in mondays Suicide Bombing, theresa may has raised the official Terror Threat level to critical, meaning a further attack could be imminent. Investigators have been unable to rule out whether the bombing suspect act alone. He has been named as 22 year old salman abedi, born In Manchester, of libyan descent. Staying without, our correspondent, ed thomas, has spent over 2a hours reporting from the city. He says the people have come together, but there has been a level of confusion. The images of children, young children, teenagers, in shock, in disbelief. We watched many around here, on their phones, trying to get hold of their parents. Just wanting to leave the city. Then we saw mums and dads, frantically trying to get a hold of their children. They did not know where they were or if they were safe or had been hurt. But in the middle of that, in the confusion, we watched strangers come to court and like this one, giving out bottles of water, trying to offer help. 0ne image that has with me is a father holding onto his two children, two daughters, ten and 12, he was distressed, he did not know who he was. He wanted to go home. As tragic came to him and said that he would ta ke came to him and said that he would take him home. A stranger came. What happened here, an attack on young, defenceless children, in the foyer, after a concert, has left many people in complete disbelief. Thats ed thomas. Daniel sandford has been at the Manchester Police headquarters for the forces latest thoughts. They got a good start to the investigation. They got an identification very early on the man, salman abedi, who was, i believe, the suspected Suicide Bomber. That is because they had identification on him. They were quick to identify him and addresses, and to carry raided out at controlled explosion to break into one of those places. They identified him asa one of those places. They identified him as a 22 robben who was born here to refugees. But then, it became difficult, because they could not rule out the possibility of others. 22 year old man. Critically, tonight, they also have not got to the bottom of why a man who grew up here and went kawhia suddenly decided to turn against the country that gave him refuge. And went to school here.
