Yesterday was up contrast that to charlotte rose, bbc news. Yesterday where we were well down. Madrid about eight degrees cooler than we should be at this stage in lets get the latest may but that will change as i will from our political correspondent, iain watson. Show you. We saw good morning to you. Quite a lot to may but that will change as i will show you. We sanohn down in the south west. This was the scene in devonin cover. Gavin williamson has been south west. This was the scene in taking a look at education. Thats devon in exmouth. It is colder, a right. It is much easier to impose a bit of frost around across much of england and wales. Could be the last lock down and get out of a lockdown, seems to be the proof this morning. Frost we see for awhile. Plenty of but the government said they were sunshine but cloud building up. All going to do in england from the areas are staying dry. Maybe in the beginning of next month was to have a phased return to Primary Schools, isle of man, Northern Ireland. A bit more clout in scotland with a greater chance of a few showers, the youngest pupils and oldest mainly in the north and west. Pupils in Primary School returning, but the teaching unions have been loud. Shetland still in the cold saying it isnt safe to do so or air. Gale force winds. Cloud. Not they are not convinced it is safe to do so, so in an attempt to try to 1 million miles from where we should get them on board today by inviting them to meet in thes chief medical be mid may. Through this evening and 0fficer them to meet in thes chief medical officer and other experts so they over night, the odd spell of rain in can talk about the potential risks in the classroom and how to manage the north of scotland. Most dry overnight but we should be frost them and writing in the daily mail, free. Not as cold as it has been and temperatures will continue to climb them and writing in the daily mail, the education secretary, Gavin Williamson, is that everyone in each of the following nights as education has a duty to try to get well. We still have cold air and children back into school. He said he agrees for once with a former strong winds in shetland, however. A few showers tomorrow across labour education secretary, david scotland, maybe far north west of blunkett, who said it would be disadvantaged children who would england, clouding over more suffer the most if they dont go generally in Northern Ireland with patchy rain during the day but for back to school. Equally though gavin most it will be another williamson has to reassure parents predominately dry day, if not as well as the trade unions, because com pletely predominately dry day, if not completely dry, for much of england some of them will be worried about and wales. Temperatures similar to sending children back into school, todays values with a bit of worried about whether they could sunshine coming and going but they catch or spread the virus. Again he will be a few changes to the northern half of the country as we is stressing throughout that this is go through saturday night and into going to be a very careful move, sunday morning put up High Pressure with us, thinks a bit further south uses the word careful several times, and allows these weather fronts to and says they will be new measures off the atlantic will stop mainly in place, ethical to socially putting across the northern half of distance with Young Children but the uk and it is across western they will be in small groups, there scotla nd the uk and it is across western scotland where we will see the most will be new hygiene measures. We persistent rain sunday. Could see have to make sure that children are two inches of rainfall here for 36 sent back to school by their parents if they reopen and he has to get the hours. Rain at times for Northern Ireland and the far north of england unions on site they are going to reopen in the first place in one of further south, staying dry will stop them is suggesting that the lots of sunshine around as well and government could face legal action temperatures are starting to climb. If they reach a duty of care to teaching staff. 0k. Thanks very 20 21 temperatures are starting to climb. 20 21 celsius not out of the question. The weather fronts much. Transport for london has secured a £1. 6 billion bailout 20 21 celsius not out of the question. The weatherfronts build and High Pressure builds in and from the government to Keep Services running until september, temperatures will start to rise more but not everyone is happy. Ben is in our london newsroom. Widely. Warm air up from the south and it looks like most parts of the good morning. Country will see temperatures by mid week, if not into the mid 20s, one asa as a contentious issue, isnt it . Or two spots even a high 20s. The good morning. £1. 6 billion is a lot rain in western scotland clearing, of money. This came after transport too. For london, the body that represents hello. This is breakfast with Charlie Stayt all transport across the capital, and naga munchetty. Yesterday said it was in danger of running out of money if he didnt it and naga munchetty. Is a 7 32. Thank you forjoinii get a bailout by the end of the day. Us. Union leaders representing teachers and school staff will meet so we know the government has the governments top scientific stepped into the tune of £1. 6 advisors later today. Theyre seeking reassurance that billion, about a third of that will reopening schools in england next month will be safe. Be made up of a loan, the rest is a teachers have expressed concern that social distancing will be difficult direct bailout. But one that to implement and have questioned why londoners will eventually end up Face Coverings arent being advised. Paying back through higherfares. It but, the education secretary has insisted the safety of pupils is thought fares could rise by 1 and teachers is his above inflation to pay for this cash injection. That itself does directly number one priority. Go against a promise from the london mayor, sadiq khan, not to ride as magra raise prices for public transport, but he said he has little the nhs must have a supply of ppe, choice given the collapse in demand for services as a result of health units or morning. Coronavirus. Passenger numbers are down 95 . Clearly hitting revenues for the service. And just to give nhs england has told hospitals you a sense of the scale of it, this to restart routine and non urgent operations which were put on hold staggering scale of the transport during the pandemic. The government has said it is working around the clock for london network, 5 million to provide more ppe. Applause rang out across the uk passenger journeys for the eighth time last night for london network, 5 million passengerjourneys every for london network, 5 million passenger journeys every single for london network, 5 million passengerjourneys every single day on the tube, there are 19,000 bus to thank nhs workers for their efforts over the last few months. Stops, more than 600 and roots with people grabbed whatever they could get their hands 9000 buses and they say because on as they lined the streets to show their appreciation there are simply not the people on and healthcare workers stopped their shifts to join the clap. There were tributes those buses and trams and tubes they from borisjohnson and keir starmer simply cannot afford it. Quite while Emergency Services also took part. Its become a weekly ritual since it understandably, there has been reaction across the country because, once again, money being spent on the capital. We know the mayor of first took place on march 26th. Greater manchester, andy burnham, saying this announcement, still while Greater Manchester waits for a few million. Twitter that last night. And andy street, the mayor of lets speak now to the Northern Ireland secretary, Brandon Lewis. The West Midlands, he has been thank you very much for talking to asking for money for the citys us this morning. Shall we go trams and buses and again saying it straight into the issue of Teaching Needs just a few million keeping unions, who want some reassurance, those running. They will bejoining from the chief medical officer, the queue once again for government today, from scientific advisors. Is money. The government says it has offered money to keep those services it safe for children to go back to running, but nonetheless piling into insignificance compared to £1. 6 school, for teachers and pupils in billion for londons transport network. Thanks for taking us june because you yes. They know the through that. Pubs in some australian states have reopened today with strict hygiene education secretary and the team are and social distancing rules talking continually to the unions. In place in a bid to restart the countrys economy. And teachers, to make sure we have a lets get more from the bbcs Shaimaa Khalil, whos outside good and safe environment. I think it is important. Schools give a a pub in sydney. Couple of key things, particularly the age groups were looking at, that young age, a few weeks makes a paid usa big difference in education, paid us a picture of how the reopening is working paint. Particularly in areas where we want to have people who have that opportunity to improve their paid us a picture of how the education, get on in life, we have reopening is working paint. Its quite a reopening is working paint. Its quitea rainy reopening is working paint. Its quite a rainy day, so we actually came inside, they allowed us in. But seen education, get on in life, we have seen phenomenal steps forward and dont want to lose that those young after weeks of restrictions people people. Also schools are a good have finally been allowed to come m, have finally been allowed to come place, where if you have good social in, havea have finally been allowed to come in, have a meal, and enjoy a drink. Distancing, following the guidelines we are at the royal albert, a local ina distancing, following the guidelines in a healthy environment, is a good place for teachers to continue to remind children about social pub in the central sydney distancing and things like washing neighbourhood. While we cant take you inside the dining area because your hands regularly and practising it is at maximum ten people good social distancing and good capacity, i can tell you we can hear cleanliness in schools. I think a them laughing quite loudly. People really Good Environment to get children back to school, notjust so have been telling us how excited that parents can get back to work they are to be here. But the rule is but particularly at those age groups only ten people are allowed at a it is for children to be taking that time and they have been fully booked knowledge and a few weeks out of here all day, actually turning school can make a big difference by the question isnt really about the people away, thats how excited value of school, though, its about people away, thats how excited people are about being out and safety. We spoke to simon kedwell about. Yes, cafes, restaurants, pubs from the National Association of like this one, even places of teachers on this programme you and he said, quote, social distancing worship all have to stick to social distancing measures, to high is impossible in the gardens alludes generals as well, and serving ten to this. The guidance is model. The way we keep them safe is practising customers at a time. A big day for families as well. Playgrounds are enhanced hygiene, as you mentioned, open so it is back to the swings for many children. And while it is not business as usual, it is slowly not social distancing. That is a moving steps towards easing the myth. So restrictions. Health officials did not social distancing. That is a myth. So distancing not social distancing. That is a myth. So distancing is important. We can do that within schools. And say that more cases are expected as they recognise, we can continue to help children understand what because of the increased movement of good hygiene means and what that people, but, generally, australias involves. Washing hands et cetera. I doing much better and while New South Wales is opening, states like think it is right. It is also right that in schools we can have a safe victoria, for example, wont lift the restrictions before the end of working environment. As one of the this month. Little things take a new things anna schools across the country are looking at. And we are keen to ensure there is a good, safe importance, dont they, hairdressers, for example, i environment both for the children and the staff. You are talking about understand have opened up out there and caused a bit of a stir. Yes schools in england at the moment. In all honesty, do you really think hairdressers are opening and, you youre going to stop ten five or six know, i shouldnt really pointed to year olds from hugging and touching each other at school because yellow my hair, but am and a bad need of a i think one of the things about haircut as well. It is all about the being a school is the ability for teachers to my know when i was at social distancing rules. Its all about the high generals, and staff school, children look up to teachers could be seen Wearing Masks as well and you have that opportunity which we re and you have that opportunity which and its all about making sure that were there educating people. We know that the virus has less impact on children in terms of outspread but people, when they are doing their we have to make sure they understand hair appointments or getting their the importance of social distancing. Hair appointments or getting their hair cut, that they are safely at a teachers can play an Important Role distance from each other. But, in the. Are you expecting mostly, businesses have been telling teachers, im sorry to interrupt, us mostly, businesses have been telling us how excited they are about literally be outside in the opening up. We did speak to some pub playground, im assuming the children will be allowed to go out and play, and stop ten or 15 five or owners and cafe owners who say that despite being allowed to open, six year olds from touching each other while they are playing . serving ten people isjust despite being allowed to open, serving ten people is just not financially viable, so they will think one of the things teachers are remain closed to the customers and able to do both in the classroom and outside the classroom and all of us will continue with takeaway is. For as parents, is to continue to the moment, thank you very much. Educate each other around social Shaimaa Khalil reporting from sydney for us this morning. Takeaway is. Distancing. So even in a School Environment it is important we do the nhs must have an adequate supply what we can to encourage and explain of personal protective equipment an educator and social distancing. And Rapid Testing in place for services to reopen safely, Health Unions are warning. You are saying that this government nhs england has told hospitals genuinely believes that five and six to restart routine and non urgent operations which were put on hold year olds can be taught, in time, during the pandemic. The government has said it is working around the clock fourjune the first or injune, two to provide more ppe. Weeks away, to socially distance and they will get this and they will not be hugging because there is enough information for them. As i say, it even if we cant take in some is one of those things all of us as culture during the pandemic at least pa rents is one of those things all of us as parents and teachers in schools play some fuiiy creatures can an important part in that education enjoy a nice day out. Three peruvian penguins process. Within virus like this from Kansas City Zoo in the us have educating around how we deal with been given a day pass to tour this is an important life part of a museum at their leisure. Zoo keepers said it was a chance our lives for the next few months at to boost their spirits least until we have a vaccine in as they miss social interaction. Place. It is an important part of it as well. We should not underestimate the importance of giving children, particularly at that young is, the what confuses me is who will they ability to be in school, in a safe environment, getting the education socially interact with within a they need, where a few weeks does make a big difference. We are museum, charlie . Welcome each other, talking about schools in england at just ina museum, charlie . Welcome each other, just in a different environment. The moment. It is interesting, what we dont know is what particular images or artwork they because the limitation of different covid 19 lockdown rules in we re particular images or artwork they were drawn towards. There you go. Because the limitation of different covid 19lockdown rules in Northern Ireland, scotland, england, and wales, they are all different. We they are probably looking for the will hear from well today about how pool they are probably looking for the pool, arent they, or the pond . That it plans to ease lockdown and what measures, if any are going to is really what they are looking for, change. We have heard from nicola lets be honest. But the joy of seeing thing was this morning. You sturgeon saying she has a strategy. Cant go wrong. It is 12 minutes is this government now not of the United Kingdom when it comes to past six. Matt will have the weather for us ina past six. Matt will have the weather for us in a few minutes. Covid 19, but of england . Nhs staff on the frontline United Kingdom when it comes to covid19, but of england . It is of the pandemic should receive absolutely a United Kingdom the same Mental Health support approach. Ijust absolutely a United Kingdom approach. I just outlined absolutely a United Kingdom as soldiers returning approach. Ijust outlined that in a couple of errors. First of all it is from a war zone. Thats the view of a leading psychiatrist who says workers the Prime Minister and the are at risk of developing post Traumatic Stress disorder chancellor of the United Kingdom who if they dont get long term care. Put this unprecedented package of 0ur Health Correspondent Financial Support in place, the fellow scheme, the loan scheme, the Anna Collinson reports. Bounceback scheme, Northern Ireland has benefited from about one hello . Treating coronavirus has been billion, that is all part of because we are part of the uk a challenge like no other come with staff risking their own lives to family. We have taken a uk wide save others. Covid related pressures approach. What seeing, actually, is on hospitals may be starting to devolution in action. We have seen ease, but its been relentless. The devolved authorities, quite particularly on an intensive care rightly, with the devolved powers unit where this doctor works. They have got and with the different particularly on an intensive care unit where this doctor worksm will be like having a terrorist levels we have got in different parts of the uk as we exit this virus, exiting it in a way that is attack, you know, at the door of the right and appropriate for different parts of the United Kingdom, that is hospital every day, twice a day, devolution in action think it is a four months stop thats the positive thing. We want to stay with magnitude of it. It will be like the Northern Ireland executive and the Northern Ireland executive and the work they doing. We saw in the having 15 20 patients who are really last 2a hours. We are seeing an on the edge, who are going to die in the next few hours if you dont do approach that recognises that we are anything every 12 hours. Thats how approach that recognises that we are a United Kingdom and different parts of those devolved authorities are bad it is. We can get infected, we seeing this virus move at different stages. As we exit i think that is can die, orwe bad it is. We can get infected, we can die, or we can get so sick that quite a natural thing to see happen. We will be left with lifelong if the rate across the nations are consequences. This professor is a so if the rate across the nations are so important, way not breaking it co nsulta nt consequences. This professor is a down in regions as well . consultant in hull, he says while areas like london have been harder so important, way not breaking it down in regions as well . I know there is talk today about some of hit, he and his colleagues have also there is talk today about some of the figures for regions that has witnessed suffering and loss. There been done by cambridge university. I havent had a chance to see the detail of the to see how it compares is no real downtime offerfor the to domont figures. As i say, what we staff. We dont really reflect the are seeing around the United Kingdom, we are seeing the levels process. Why do worry that many will slightly higher because scotland, not share their anxieties. I suspect wales, and the United Kingdom are at a different stage of the code. We we will see more depression, more pretty much are in line. The caution stress, and more stress related of keeping the level down as you go illnesses, leading to things like in. But as we come out we come out at different stages. Caution means heart attacks. We are also it is quite natural for those supporting each other, luckily, and we are trying to save lives. Devolved authorities to follow a uk sometimes the constant pressure gets wide approach but at a different pace. That is what were seeing in too much. Shelley watts is an icu think it is quite appropriate. Can we talk about transport. A 1 6p nurse. We are alljust doing what we can to save peoples loved ones. Transport for london bail out. It some dont like the use of walling says it is needed. We are also going to see rail fares language to talk about the says it is needed. We are also going to see railfares in london or transport fares in london rose 1 coronavirus, but weve been told the Mental Health problems that nurses above inflation. You think or you and doctors could experience may be have said that you believe social similarto and doctors could experience may be similar to that of troops returning from a war zone stop is argued the distancing can be made possible for five year olds in the classroom, in critical moment for treatment will be when the pressure subsides and the playground, with the right measures in place. Adults are being life returns to a new normal. Forced to take the tube to go to inspired by his military back work and not be able to socially ground, a Mental Health advisor to distance. How are you going to fix the nhs as a robust Long Term Plan this . First of all, the transport is needed to prevent staff developing conditions like secretary itself yesterday evening post Traumatic Stress disorder. Was saying yesterday evening that developing conditions like postTraumatic Stress disorder. Its what happened after the trauma that is most predictive of what people first of all we should be socially distancing. People should avoid will be like in terms of their using public transport where they Mental Health. If its not done can, whether it is walking cycling using the car, but lets not forget well, if we muck it up, then one of the key parts of the guidance actually thats going to really make is where you can continue to work the trauma they already had much from home you should be able to more difficult to deal with. Continue working from home, thats professor greenberg says when covid how we ease pressure. What we want to see and they dont want to jump pressure subsides, workers should the gun, because they know the receive an official acknowledgement for their work, they should take government and transport department are working with tfl around how we leave followed by a slow can ensure weve got more Services Introduction into the new role, and they should undergo regular mental functioning across london in Health Screenings for at least a particular, but across the transport network in order to say to people, year. But an nhs Mental Health when you do go back to work, and as you go back to work with staggered service wants a more varied Long Term Support plan so we can out to ensure people can continue to suit different needs, from care practise social distancing even when using public transport stop where workers to call handlers. Every people can work from home they should continue to do so and where Single Member of the nhs should have they are going to work look at what other transport they can use to get access to a confidential to work in the first place as well. Psychological Health Service that is you know there are people getting on fast access for them because of their having to wait in a queue the tube and buses because they have to go to work and they cannot behind everyone else than i think is socially distance. That is the state putting them at more risk. And isnt of it at the moment, what you say to ready them now . So there is a lot those people, you say to someone whos boss has said i need you to already in train. I think a lot more come to work, the government needs to come. All four Health Guidelines have changed and they say if they get on the tube i am at Risk Services in the uk are currently providing Health Workers with mental of catching coronavirus because i Health Support via phone and online. Cannot, it is impossible for me to normal Long Term Plans are varied, be two metres away from everyone . As with Northern Ireland offering the most detail. Theres currently a say we need to be clear about what the guidelines are in terms of how they have changed. Saying if you can overwhelming support for our carers, work from home. This is for but its claimed a better way to thank them will be the availability someone work from home. This is for someone who work from home. This is for someone who cannot of professional help for years to work from home. This is for someone who cannot work from home, they have to go to work, and the come. After the clapping has only way is not a car or a bicycle but getting on the crowded tube. Stopped. What he was going to say is if you Anna Collinson, bbc news. Cannot work from home and can only work from being in a place of work lets take a look at todays papers. That place of work should be ensuring that you can practice social distancing, working with employers to ensure you can study the times says borisjohnson is preparing a much more your times to get to work at an appropriate and safe way. We are interventionist approach saying to people we all have a duty to tackle obesity as part when travelling if we have to travel on public transport to ensure we can of the fight against coronavirus. The mirror leads with a report by be social distancing. Saying to scientists at Manchester University people if you are a Something Like which predicts around 19 million public transport in an enclosed people in britain could have had the virus and got better. Place, where a face mask, is a practical thing to do. But the key thing is all of us playing our part the daily mail says the row between teachers and unions ensuring we are social distancing. Over when and how to reopen that is also why, dont know the schools has exploded, after the former education Secretary Department of transport are working with tfl and others to ensure we get David Blunkett accused unions of working against back up to services and to allow the interests of children. One of the most read stories on the bbc news website this morning people to socially distance properly as they go back to work. That person is a warning from the Wildlife Charity the rspb, which says it has today going to worker was scared of been overrun by reports of birds of prey being illegally killed getting on the tube, what do they since the lockdown started. Say to their boss . Have that conversation. We have to make sure, people have been working from home in the past period of time, london these are icelandic horses driven isa in the past period of time, london is a good example were huge numbers from the stable for the first time of people have been working from this reason to a meadow and a stud home, where you can work from home you should continue to do so. If you have to go back to work using public farm. It is a really nice picture. Transport we need to ensure we we had those lovely penguins as continue social listening by well. Charlie, i have got to ask staggering the way we travel, ensuring that when we travel we your question. You like this part of practice, if all of us think about the morning, dont you . Is it quiz practising social distancing then we time . It is not really a quiz was up will all be doing that. That is why we wa nt have you been reading morses will all be doing that. That is why we want to ensure we are upscaling lockdown has been imposed . the number of services with tfl. That is the work the department of have you been reading morses lockdown has been imposed . I would say yes, yes. What kind of books . Transport are doing with tfl at this all books. I tend to read books over moment in time to ensure more services are spread out and more and over again was a 0k. All books. I tend to read books over and over again was a ok. If you were people can practice social to think about what kind of books distancing. And, of course, in an are being searched for or bought. Enclosed or confined space wearing a what. . Diy. No, saucy novels. Face mask is an appropriate thing to do. Brandon lewis, Northern Ireland secretary, thank you for your time. Well, because passionate flings are it is 7 aa. The scottish highlands. Why looking ahead and how things might look in the weeks and months. Good morning to you. Good morning. Empty would you say that . Allan i have no idea. Norfolk and the east. People stadiums, that is the idea, blame behind closed doors for the foreseeable future. It is lovely being back inside a Football Ground but this is what it will be like if are not searching for restaurants and cinemas. Amongst the things it does and when it does return. By doing it at this level, playing people might be missing at the behind closed doors, is very moment, cinemas. There you go. Different to closing behind closed doors any premier league where you have all tv money. Here it is all shared experience. There are a lot about the money coming from the fans and through the turnstiles and of very difficult things at the moment was not in amongst, every taking their seats. 80 of the once in awhile, people might think, revenue at rotherham comes from the let us go to the cinema was up in fence. There is a feeling amongst a the guardian today, a few people lot of the clubs that playing behind musing about wonderful cinema closed doors, finishing the season experiences. From years ago. Tilda that way is not financially viable. Swinton, for example, says the year so there is a big meeting today, a videoconference between league one is 1980 and she is in kenya and and league two clubs. But opinions, there is a sheet hung on a tree in like everywhere else in football, are so like everywhere else in football, are so divided. Last night six clubs there is a sheet hung on a tree in the middle of the village and lots united behind the peterborough of local people, a cranky old united chairman saying we must generator and a cranky old projector finish the season for the integrity which is running the thing and it is a western, they are showing a of foot poll, peterborough, western so all the locals have come portsmouth, sunderland, 0xford, into watch this film and she says in fleetwood, and ipswitch united the of the shootout in the saloon in behind the message that they have to finish the season. It could be a the of the shootout in the saloon in the western movie, a spear flung very heated meeting. Before the from the back of the crowd of the season resumes there has got to be people watching the film. A spear is the training, worries from some players about the safety of that. However the liverpool manager, the thrown that hits the baddie in the runaway leaders, jurgen klopp feels that place should be reassured about chest, on the sheet, as it is being that place should be reassured about that side of things. Projected onto, and it stays right into the heart of the sheet right up when we can start again, things will until that romantic clincher. Need to be organised so training will not be a threat for anybody so someone watching . Yes, yes. It is in the middle of the scene where there isa the middle of the scene where there is a shootout and the baddie gets it i think the premier League Grounds but of course the spear stays in the will be the safest places. Training sheet for the rest of the film so it grounds will be the safest places in is still hanging there for the rest of the film. Unbelievable, magic, europe, because it is pretty much cinema of dreams. Actually, it tells not possible to get really close to each other. But thats it. We will you you can make your own cinema at be in as good a shape as possible home, if you can find a projector, and that is what we have to do now. Obviously, with a sheet. Just hang a sheet up, do that, dont throw any the england than harry came has spears, though. That would not help. We are talking about more people joined forces with his old team preparing to return to work. Following the easing of the government lockdown, what about those jobs where keeping your harry cane was up he made his debut distance isnt an option . Driving instructors have told this programme they are facing huge financial problems and need clearer advice about how to drive their businesses forward. Breakfasts tim muffett has more. And will also give a message of support to those battling the two metres social distancing . While coronavirus. It was my first taste of professional football full stop i sat side by side in a car . It is just fell in love with it. I fell in love with the players and the time, impossible. For steve white from leeds and thousands of other driving i could see how much it meant to the players and how much it meant to the instructors across the country, it isa instructors across the country, it is a huge problem. The last lesson i fans andl players and how much it meant to the fans and i scored a few goals and just had a really good connection did was on the 23rd of march. We with everyone. An example of the dont know what we should be doing and what we shouldnt be doing. We premier league helping the lower dont want to work if it is not safe league clubs and that is what is needed to see us all through this because we dont want to put crisis at the moment. Let us talk ourselves or pupils at risk but then more about this situation in again, the guidelines recently from rotherham. Second in league one, the Prime Minister said we should go hoping for a promotion but it is to work and keep a safe distance very tight. Speaking to jamie noble, where possible. It isjust to work and keep a safe distance where possible. It is just a little bit too vague for us, really. The head of communities. This whole vast majority of driving instructors debate today going on about whether the season should finish. What are your feelings whether that is are self employed and many cant be realistic and viable for a club like this . I think the longer the furloughed, many have suffered a decision isnt taken, the more com plete furloughed, many have suffered a complete loss of income. Most difficult it will be for us to complete the season in its entirety. Driving lessons and driving tests are currently banned but they are allowed for key workers was up first and foremost, it is around although the key worker must be safety of the players, of the staff preparing for an essential driving and of the fans, that is the most test, needed for theirjob. Important thing that has got to be preparing for an essential driving test, needed fortheirjob. For mark considered. Football should play an sefton, an instructor from test, needed fortheirjob. For mark sefton, an instructorfrom south london, that raises even more important part, it does play an questions. Have to wear your important part, it does play an important part, it does play an important part in people s lives, facemask, your gloves, you have to but hell has to come first. Disinfect the car every time you finish a lesson or start a new lesson. You can barely talk properly health has to come first. Surely, behind a mask. It is pretty hard to the money that you get coming in, probably drive with gloves as well, your hands all sweaty. Did it for a you dont have the fans coming couple of days but in my car, it was through, you dont get the money that the premier league gets from tv, do you think they should just a very comfortable, to be honest. Make the decision now . Two as you would you give a lesson to a key said there in your introduction, worker . Probably not right now, i yeah, it is really important for wouldnt do it right now, until i Lower League Clubs and clubs like know it was a little bit more safe. Ours. It does cost us money to stage marcuse to teach 20 pupils a week a game and pay the players, but, as that his income has vanished. Isaid, it a game and pay the players, but, as i said, it comes down to the health of the public first and foremost. Mark used to teach. Some have suggested plastic screens may help for us to make that decision, but mark isnt convinced. The idea really. Do you understand the ofa but mark isnt convinced. The idea of a perspex screen in between you feelings of clubs like portsmouth, and the person having a lesson, not that the integrity of the game is so very viable . No, it definitely wont important to finish the season . We work put up an automatic car might all want to finish the season, that work put up an automatic car might work but not for a manual. If they is the important thing, we do want try to turn left in the wrong gear, that, we are in a competition and we i would have to change the gear. The wa nt that, we are in a competition and we want to complete that competition and we want hopefully to be rewarded for doing it in the right way, but, like i said, we have to make sure industry is facing enormous challenges and an uncertain future. That it like i said, we have to make sure thatitis like i said, we have to make sure that it is done in the right way and is the advice you are getting from that it is done in the right way and that everyones happy and it is the government and the driver and appropriate to do so. We will have vehicle s Standards Agency clear to leave it there but nicely summing enough . Clearly they are in a challenging position that things are up to leave it there but nicely summing up the confliction in emotions going on in all of the clubs ahead of this a moving feast in terms of when we meeting in the videoconference can a moving feast in terms of when we ca n start a moving feast in terms of when we can Start Testing and training today. Mike, thank you very much, again, what is the current advice, even down to what is the current see you later. Advice of the use of ppe stop this it looks lovely out there. Such a is one sector in particular that has joy, quite a lot of risk. Driver trainers it looks lovely out there. Such a joy, we have john it looks lovely out there. Such a joy, we havejohn out there on the beach, mike is back at football. Will be exposed to a lot more risk than a lot of other workers will be they are the reasons for being, arent they . Every time we see these when they return to work was up if we can get suspicious specific places, all the rules are applying, guidance from the government, it will help us get those people back travelling to and from, social distancing, but nonetheless, it is on the road in the safest manner nice to see the outdoors. Possible. The driver and vehicle interesting, we were talking to Standards Agency told the bbcjust Brandon Lewis from the government earlier on talking about this bailout. Transport for london has secured how challenging it is for the a 1. 6 billion pound bailout industry but its top priority is to from the government to keep stop the spread of coronavirus and Services Running until september, keep everyone safe. They said but not everyone is happy. Ben is looking at this and other guidance is available for instruct social distancing measures on trains does on the website and that the on the west coast. Situation is under constant review. For every cancelled lesson, there was a frustrated learner, like social distancing is very difficult across the country on various forms 17 year old nina. Was a frustrated learner, like 17yearold nina. My driving test was supposed to be on the first of of transport. April but got cancelled due to coronavirus. So it is a bit gutting yes and you are right. Many of them and part of my family there at risk not back up to full capacity and thatis not back up to full capacity and that is what were talking about now because transport london has been s0 and part of my family there at risk so it would have been nice for me to granted a £1. 6 billion bailout from go out and do the shopping and take shopping to my nana instead of my mum going up it is quite tough when the government. About a third of thatis the government. About a third of that is a that will be paid back but i think about paying for more the rest is a grant from government. Lessons because i feel like i had forgotten how to drive now. Driving it was because tfl which represents instructors, examiners and learners, all buses, trains and transport in the capital, said it would run out the road ahead looks unclear. The industrys pretty much at a of money by the end of the day because their passenger numbers have standstill. Tim moffat, bbc news. Fallen, unsurprisingly, because we have all been staying at home. 95 reduction in people using the tube interesting looking at that working and they said that has meant they environment and how difficult it is. Havent got the revenue to keep those Services Running. It is a lot offices and places of work have become almost unrecognisable of money because of £1. 6 billion was since social distancing measures were put in place and parliament is no exception. Not but if you look at the scale of sweeping changes to how what tfl does every day, i mean, 5 the normally busy houses work have been introduced since the pandemic began, million tube passages a day. 19,000 asJonathan Blake reports. Bus stops across the capital, 9000 like a lot of places, parliament buses, neary 7000 roots. Routs. Looks and sounds very different at the moment. Most mps are working remotely and coronavirus has prodded some of the biggest changes to it is not fair for people outside the capital to carry the burden, it procedures in this place for has been said, so it will be paid centuries. Lets take you inside to see how things are working to seeks for in part by a rise in fares when london is back up and running. It to make comparisons with other will be 1 above inflation so a countries. Which i am advised are hefty rise for passengers and premature. I am baffled, it is not remember, the mayor sadiq khan, the me seeking to draw the comparisons, london mayor, has said that tube fa res london mayor, has said that tube fares and bus fares will be frozen. These are the government slides that have been used for weeks to reassure that was part of his Election Campaign so he is going to have to the public in normaltimes, the house of Commons Chamber can be break that promise. Understandably, packed with mps but not at the we have also heard across the moment, there are signs in place country other regional mayors are showing them where they can and concerned about the amount of money cant set, barriers by the benches thatis concerned about the amount of money that is being spent in london in the and tape on the floor to keep capital and not on them and they are eve ryo ne and tape on the floor to keep everyone at least two metres apart. Saying look, were still waiting for a maximum of 50 are allowed in here a few million to be spent manchester at any one time at the moment but more can take part remotely via and the mayor of the West Midlands video link, using the screens that saying he is also waiting for cash. Been installed. Caroline lucas in the government has said it is putting some money aside to help them but £1. 6 billion is being spent brighton. Any airline chewing up for on the capital. The financial a taxpayer handout queueing up. Arguments are really important but must be prepared to meet robust at the same time, a lot of people arejust thinking at the same time, a lot of people are just thinking about the practicalities. What is it going to climate goals. Aviation like every be like . The tube, we were talking other sector must keep its carbon lower. We are working on about, but i understand west coast Technological Solutions to ensure we main line, what will it be like if can do that. When it comes to you go on a train . We have had an voting, mps would normally walk through this court corridor and update from the relatively new another one on the other side of the provider. What was virgin trains, chamber called the division lorries now of anti west coast. Avanti. Lobbies, to cast their votes physically. Now it is all being done remotely physically. Now it is all being done re m otely by physically. Now it is all being done remotely by mps in their favour using smart phones, tablets and at passengers will have to make home on their computers. A text is decisions before they travel. Not least, they will have to book in advance using the companys at. It sent to mps telling them they have says dont just turn 15 minutes in which to vote. They advance using the companys at. It says dontjust turn up expecting to get on a train. Companys app. Log onto an online portal and cast their vote. Initiate the division. The results are counted and then read out by the speaker. The ayes given the social distancing rules, if maintaining the two metre distance on their trains, it will with 363. Read out by the speaker. The ayes cut capacity. The number of people with 363. It they can carry, by up to 90 . There read out by the speaker. The ayes with 363. It hasnt gone entirely to plan. Rishi sunak was one of several mps to actual is clearly a lot of implications for accidentally vote the wrong way on a how many passengers can travel on. Change to the agriculture bill this they say pre book, they will put week. I am sure their use of all the resources on to make sure it is clear in and staff have masks. Technology wasnt quite as good as the passengers are being asked to they felt they ought to be. Wear masks as well but nonetheless, parliament has had to adapt quickly it will be difficult before the social distancing rules will be in the face of the Coronavirus Crisis and for some, these changes relaxed for everyone to be able to go where they need to go. Thanks area crisis and for some, these changes are a way to kickstart long overdue very much. Good morning to you. Reforms but others worry that parliaments role reforms but others worry that pa rliaments role is reforms but others worry that parliaments role is being restricted and in any case, it will we know the coronavirus bea is affecting some groups more restricted and in any case, it will be a long time before this place is than others now we have an update back to anything like business as usual. On the impact of the disease Jonathan Blake with that report. On those with pre exsiting conditions. Business as usual format with the weather because the weather will for the first time, nhs england a lwa ys weather because the weather will has published figures always be happening. We can have on the number of people with learning disabilities and autism who have died in hospitals. That guarantee. Exactly, yes. And it were now going to hear will always keep us on our toes. We about some of those who could be affected. Eddie has learning disabilities and has been living have been talking about how chilly in an assessment and treatment unit for seven years it has been here. Let us show you a he will turn 21 in august. Contrast with europe. Palermo in lets speak to his mum adele, and chirs hatton whos professor of Public Health and disability sicily reached a staggering 39 degrees yesterday afternoon. As you at lancaster university. Can see from the colour chart, much colder further north and west. Adel adel, first of all, very good morning to you. We just saw an image madrid just 15 celsius, eight degrees lower than it should be and of eddie there a moment ago. Tell us a little bit if you would about his in guernsey, 11 degrees yesterday afternoon. It didnt really feel circumstances at the moment. Bearing like a afternoon. It didnt really feel likea mid afternoon. It didnt really feel like a mid may day. Damages will in mind, all the current extra change across Western Areas as i will show you and warmth will return complications you face. Inks have been really difficult of late. Over the days ahead. This morning, a bit of frost around across parts of england and wales especially in things have been really difficult of south east scotland but it will late. Nobody goes into the hospital probably the last frost many of you will see for the foreseeable future and nobody goes out. He has really as the temperatures start to rise. Struggled with that. We havent been as it is a cold start, lots of able to visit in over eight weeks. Sunshine, a bit of sunshine here and there but a fair amount of cloud, his health has deteriorated and as a still showers in scotland, windy in result he is actually being nursed separately in a different part of the far north of scotland, wales in the hospital. It has been quite a places. Gaels. Some of the worrying time. We know there are cases of covid on the ward as well so we cases of covid on the ward as well so we have been absolutely petrified. So he has learning conditions lasting in the disabilities which are an existing south west. Rain still continues to problem, obviously. To what extent come and go across parts of the are the circumstances he is in now, north and west of scotland. The not seeing family but also i breeze remains a feature here and it understand he has been moved to a helps to keep the temperatures up. Different ward. How is that actually affecting him on it day to day in fact, there you go, ourfirst frost free night that we have had to basis . It is horrific. Unfortunately ta ke frost free night that we have had to he has had to have medication take us into the weekend. For saturday, a bit of cloud around across many areas but sunshine coming through here and there. Best increase was up he has experienced of which across central and eastern restraint. He is absolutely saddened areas. Still showers across scotland by everything and he just cant and potentially northern england, Northern Ireland turning generally cope. He has lost a tremendous more cloudy and grey skies through the day. To get us through saturday amount of weight and he is living in amount of weight and he is living in a locked down. He cant go outside night and into sunday, this is where for a walk stop he isjust in his we start to see a few changes to the room for a long time and has been northern half of the country pulled for over eight weeks. It is up northern half of the country pulled up High Pressure in the north keeping things dry but as it goes difficult. His treatments he i get south, some of the wettest weather are all over tele health. It is, we we have seen for over a week on the north and west of scotland could see as much as 50 millimetres, if not a little bit more, over the space of are all over tele health. It is, we 1. 5 days. Rain at times for northern a re really are all over tele health. It is, we are really worried for his health. If you had a particular worry about ireland, a bit of a down day for what was happening to eddie and his some in the north of england but circumstances, you would have a turning dry. Not only a dry day for the second half in wales and route you could follow to get him temperatures lifting into the low into a different circumstance. I 20s by the time we finished the day know you are very understanding of and as we see those weather fronts the restrictions in place but do you gradually clear away through into have any alternatives . How are you the start of the week, High Pressure being helped if at all . There are no builds on, shifts in position and we start to bring in warmth all the way alternatives. To be fair to the up start to bring in warmth all the way up from the mediterranean so hospital, they are doing all they temperatures will start to lift once can with the rules they are being again across the country. A cool few given, but if people arent going days as we go through the weekend m, given, but if people arent going in, they are not going out, that into next week, two bridges will rise. Little bit of scotland rain includes people, we dont know if temperatures. All areas are seen temperatures. All areas are seen temperatures into the high teens, if not mid 20s, and for one or two, staff are able. Chris, can we talk high 20s possible did week next week. Back to you both. You know what to say when i see those temperatures going up at the end of the week . Golf. To you. We hear what eddie is going through at the moment and it is heartbreaking for parents and families across the country. When coming up, we will speak to two frontline workers, who have seen life on the other side and survived coronavirus thanks to the care of these numbers come out, the numbers their colleagues. Of people in hospitals with autism with more warm Weather Forecast well hear from the rnli whove died of covid 19. At least which is warning us to stay away a51 , whove died of covid 19. At least a51, this is from the data, what from coasts where the rescue does that tell us . First it is quite services have been limited by the lockdown. And well be meeting joseph, one of the youngest children in the uk to receive a double lung transplant, as he is reunited with his family restrictive. People who have been in after spending nine months in hospital. Hospitals who have had a confirmed diagnosis was not many more autistic people and people with learning good morning, heres a summary disabilities living with other circumstances and dying in other of todays main stories from bbc circumstances and dying in other circumstances who are not included in these figures. What it tells us good morning. We bring you up to date with a summary of the is that more people with learning main stories from bbc news. Disabilities are dying from covid Union Leaders representing teachers and school staff will meet than what we would expect. It should the governments top scientific advisors later today. Theyre seeking reassurance that reopening schools in england next be with more analysis a trigger to month, will be safe. Teachers have expressed concern that action. What should and what can social distancing will be difficult to implement and have questioned why Face Coverings arent being advised. That action be . Practicalities are but, the education secretary has insisted the safety of pupils and teachers is his making sure there is proper ppe. And number one priority. We need to look at other situations people have been talking about. Transport for london has secured a £1. 6 billion bailout from the government to Keep Services running until september. The network had seen its income virtually disappear as passenger were looking at services being more numbers dropped by more than 90 creative with their options in terms during the lockdown. Of trying to help into smaller londons mayor sadiq khan, said the terms of the support meant commuters would have to pay a heavy places where control can be managed price with fare rises. Applause rang out across the uk for the eighth time last night better. We need to look at peoples to thank nhs workers for their efforts over the last few months. People grabbed whatever they could get their hands on as they lined the streets to show their appreciation and healthcare workers Mental Health what they are living stopped their shifts tojoin the tribute. Through this lockdown. Infection the fire service and police also took part. Its become a weekly ritual since it control is important but also how people maintain their health and first took place on march 26th. Well being. Helping people get out and do exercise and experience the outdoors in ways that are safe. it isa it is a ritual that is really enjoyable as well, in terms of sense of community and just feeling as if everyone. Of community and just feeling as if everyone. And it has become like a saw you nodding, adele, do you take marker in peoples week. Its thursday. Thats what happens on thursday. Thats what happens on thursday. It is 6 33. Any reassurance from that . saw you nodding, adele, do you take any reassurance from that . I hope it perhaps you have tried to book an can happen. It isjust incredibly appointment with your doctor there a frustrating. He is just lot of changes to the way they are working. We were sent this report can happen. It isjust incredibly frustrating. He isjust a can happen. It isjust incredibly frustrating. He is just a young person with a learning disability what it is like working on the front stop he had to be counted. This is line during the pandemic. My name is the statement i need to get across the statement i need to get across the top it is only now we are talking about this. Adele, can i ask dr 0llie hart. Im a gp at the sloan medical centre. They want to show you how much everything has com pletely you how much everything has completely changed what were doing as gps now. Look at me, where i am and scrubs, i havent is need in my you one last thing. Every time we hospital days, many moons a day go now. Want to look like want to have attached learning disabilities see what a gp practice looks like to eddies naples but what is he when it is converted into a hospital like . Is the most charming man you zone. It is being fully clean, could ever wish to meet. Eddies no one is here tonight, this is the name. Hopefully one day you will get to meet him and experience who he entrance to those who we suspect is. He is great. We miss him, we might have covid 19. They will be really miss him pulls up we wish you taken into an isolation room. And and yourfamily really miss him pulls up we wish you and your family all the best and it isa and your family all the best and it is a very difficult circumstances of professor, thank you for your time they will look, a nice big room, this morning. Lovely mum, you can pretty much cleared of everything else. No computer, just a little bit see a smile on herface. Of equipment if it is needed. So literally everything has changed. You can see my webcam here on top of my monitor now. We are doing so many consultations via video consulting. Something almost an thinkable a couple of months ago and we transponderjust a couple of months ago and we transponder just a week. Couple of months ago and we transponderjust a week. They have made ppe over here. We are using that with every patient we see in the practice. And here on my desk, who would have thought it, an good morning, welcome to breakfast with Charlie Stayt and naga munchetty. Observation form for car park 0ur headlines today. Observations. It is more awkward the row over schools doing it in the car, but they are restarting in june the unions want reassurance over doing it in the car, but they are doing what they do to protect us. Do safety, the government tells us its better for children to go back you have a message for the staff here . I would like to say thank you a call for nhs workers whove treated coronavirus patients and keep up the good work. To get the same Mental Health a lot of people saying that at the support as soldiers returning from war. Moment. Everyday here on breakfast we speak to a gp, today were joined by drjamie parker whojoins us now from nottingham. The government says jamie, good morning to you. How are it is opening the door for the return of professional you . Good thank you. We are just football in england injune but how will that affect looking at how business is being Lower League Clubs . Im at rotherham to find out. Donein looking at how business is being done in another surgery, one of your colleagues surgeries, how about you . That sounds very familiar. Again, there arent patients coming the water is lovely but dont come into the practice routinely, we are on in. Now, in england, you are doing everything by telephone contact first. And bringing in allowed to take england in places like the sea but with no safety people by different doors depending facilities, no lifeguards, is it on whether they feel they have got safe to do so . And if you are out coronavirus symptoms or not. Where it is safe and appropriate during this morning its been a bit of a sessions in the car park to minimise cold start with frost, the last frost we will see for a while, temperatures on the wild, details of risk to both the patients and us. We that and your full weekend forecast coming up right here. Feel we have been doing a good job in the rate of the transformation and what we have been able to achieve was really quite remarkable. Our top story. Let me run a couple of thoughts Union Leaders representing teachers and school staff will meet passed you this morning. The story the governments top this morning that one in four scientific advisors today. Theyre seeking reassurance that reopening schools patients who die with covid 19 in in england next month, hospitals in england since the 31st will be safe. Of march had diabetes. Important teachers have expressed concern that social distancing will be difficult to implement and have questioned why face pointing out, as we say that, that coverings arent being advised. This is data published by nhs earlier the Northern Ireland england and does not specify whether secretary Brandan Lewis told us those who died have type one or type teachers will have to reinforce the new rules. 2 diabetes. But this is something obviously you, more generally in schools are a really good place where, if weve got your work, are more aware of, and good social distancing, what you make of that figure . |j following the guidelines, in a healthy environment, what you make of that figure . think the challenge here is managing its also a good place for our teachers to continue a headline statistically. To remind children about social distancing, about stay alert issues like washing your hands regularly statistic. I think followed the face of it is is very shocking and a and practising good social distancing and as i say, shocking statistic, think actually good cleanliness in schools. We need to know more before we talk so i think its a really Good Environment to be able to get about that. Im sure a lot of work children back to school, will be going into that. For notjust so that parents can get example, you said about type one or to work but because particularly as i say at those age groups, type 2 diabetes, but what were the its a really key time for children ages and what other diseases did to be taking in that knowledge those people have . Morbidities and and a few weeks out of school can we re those people have . Morbidities and make quite a big difference. Were they obese, their age, things Brandon Lewis is speaking to us like that before we can properly interpreted. I think in the meantime about 30 minutes ago. What is really important for we can get more now patients with diabetes is that they from our education editor, branwen jeffries. Branwen, are the unions concerns dont panic, they continue to try to stay on top of their diabetes as likely to be resolved . Best they can through the lifestyle advice they have been given, the at likely to be resolved . Least for the first time, they medications they have been advised are at least for the first time, they are getting a chance to put their to take. Anything crucially, as well, is knowing that help is there. Questions directly to the chief if you are feeling unwell do seek medical officer, the chief scientific officer, and the chief help, the nhs is there for you. We nursing officer. The people who are dont want people staying at home are becoming very unwell, are not advising ministers on their decisions. And they have a very, seeking help because of worries about the coronavirus. Im assuming very long list of questions now, that you must have quite a few patients on your books who have some they want to know about apparent of those conditions which we already inconsistencies, you mention face know might make you more at risk. Coverings, people have been told they should wear a Face Covering on are you having much more engagement a bus ortrain, they should wear a Face Covering on a bus or train, Teachers Want to know why shouldnt i be wearing one with them because youre yes. So were having lots more calls. Part ina know why shouldnt i be wearing one in a classroom with 15 children . Of the problem with the crisis is they want to know what the risks that lots of the routine reviews for are, not so much to the children patients with long standing conditions, of which diabetes is because we know this virus, by and large, affects children very mildly one, would normally have an annual but what the risks are of children review. Doing the Coronavirus Crisis transmitting it to each other and then to adult, child coming to lots of that has been cancelled. But we have been actively reviewing our school and then unwittingly taking list and contacting those patients the virus home or to just becoming who we think should be having an infected . And the virus home or to just becoming infected . And they the virus home or to just becoming annual review so we can properly infected . And they also want, i think, the government to acknowledge manage those. And together with that that maybe there is a bit of a risk. We have also been, we send out text its extremely difficult, we heard the minister grappling with the m essa g es to we have also been, we send out Text Messages to all our patients to say that we are here and on the back of practicalities of this, to get very that we are here and on the back of that we are here and on the back of that we have been having a loss of small children not to wipe their calls, you know, up to 120 a day, noses on their hands, touch their most of which are people who dont faces, had theirfriends, its going to be difficult for schools to have concerns about coronavirus, but concerns about the general health, which is really pleasing to see. Manage that, while they have that ties in with a question from overnight been given guidance on how keith in worcestershire. Have you to do it. Its interesting, you saw had more time for patients because Brandon Lewis grappling, as you say, of the many people who are staying to figure out how five year olds can run around and not touch each other aw of the many people who are staying 7 is of the many people who are staying away . Is it, in a curious way, and socially distance, any of the quite a good time to make an appointment to somehow consult with comments we are getting from viewers your doctor . It is interesting. And especially teachers, it cannot be done. So they are between a rock things have been done very and a hard place at this moment in differently. At the beginning there time. How do you think this could be was a lot of rush and a lot of changes happening. So while the resolved . Well, in some ways its patient numbers were actually down initially, there was a lot of reorganisation going on, we are receiving a vast amount of about acknowledging that you cannot information and having to make eliminate all risks and about how changes. Now what were is because you manage them, this is the we are all working from the same guidance that came out yesterday evening and have been wading my way list and doing telephone calls, think we are more easily accessible through it, as have lots of teachers and head teachers when it landed than we usually would be because we last night. Its everything from you dont have the routine face to face shouldnt use play doh because all appointments, you will speak to a the celts would be handling it, to doctor to quickly. I think i would every child having to manage their encourage people to contact their gp own pencil pot and their books and if they are feeling unwell and are not be sharing things. You think how concerned about their health. There it normally goes on in a primary is quite a big focus today on mental school, the kids sitting around tables, working together, i went health, particularly of people within your own profession, within into a school a week ago in the medical world, arejust one yorkshire. They set out the little also, there will be concerns about desks, two metres apart, schools are you and your release, is it a concern to you that without the face to face gp appointments that if really thinking very hard about how to make things safe, head teachers someone comes in know they are the ones going to be to face gp appointments that if someone comes in possibly presenting with some kind of Mental Health on the frontline of explaining to issues, you know, in the past you pa rents on the frontline of explaining to parents and while they have been would have that face to face open for key workers and vulnerable contact, that cant happen now, how children, including throughout the easter holidays, this is a different much of an issue is that for you . M ball game. Youre about reception, year one and year six in groups of is. We are concerned about that and we are aware of the concern. The up year one and year six in groups of up to 15 pupils. In many schools, that will still mean perhaps only face to face, you get so many cues from a face to face consultation and just being there you dont get from between one third and one half can actually attend at any one time. If a telephone call. Speaking to you you are in the little victorian now but i cant see you, it is difficult for me to judge your building, Primary School, you might not be able to manage 15, you might facial expression, for example. In i only be able to manage ten or 12. Think what we are using and no they face loss of decisions but situation, using the technology, and if we are not getting the right a essentially, the government needs their support to make this happen sense of being able to make a clinicaljudgement over the phone we because schools will have to make their own Risk Assessment and some are arranging a video consultation of their own decisions about how which can be done pretty much immediately, actually, if patients they are going to manage this. Thank wa nt to immediately, actually, if Patients Want to do that, which would help us you so much. Get that sense and those facial cues from the response to the questions. Transport for london has secured so we are being as innovative and a £1. 6 billion bailout from the government to Keep Services thorough as we can be in the current running until september. The network had seen its income situation. Just for the record, virtually disappear as passenger jamie, i have and enormous a smile numbers dropped by more than 90 on my face publicly. Just for the during the lockdown. Record. Let me ask you about face londons mayor, sadiq khan, said the terms of the support meant coverings, facemasks, lynn asks this commuters would have to pay a heavy price with fare rises. One. Ive heard that anyone who has breathing problems should not wear the nhs must have an adequate supply masks or a Face Covering, is that of personal protective equipment correct . And what are you telling and Rapid Testing in place for services to reopen safely, Health Unions are warning. People about that . That is not nhs england has told hospitals something they have heard. Going to restart routine and non urgent operations which were put on hold during the pandemic. Forward , something they have heard. Going forward, think if you have a new, the government has said persistent cough, first, you should it is working around the clock be going out. What i understand the to provide more ppe. New advice to be from the government is, generally, if you do have to go applause rang out across the uk out and about you should maintain the two metres. If that is not for the eighth time last night to thank nhs workers for their efforts over the last few months. Possible its at that point you people grabbed whatever think about the Face Covering and they could get their hands thats a face mask, a Face Covering. On as they lined the streets to show their appreciation the reason for that is actually not and healthcare workers stopped their shifts to join the clap. To protect yourself, it is to reduce there were tributes the spread to other people. But as from borisjohnson and keir starmer while Emergency Services also took part. Its become a weekly ritual since it to those with respiratory problems not wearing facial coverings, i first took place on march 26th. Havent heard anything about that. Jamie, i imagine some of the time you are dealing with some things that are not specifically medical but about people was make choices on what they are doing at the moment. Id draw your attention to the issues around the debate over the death of a newborn baby girl schools and when they should open. I is being investigated wonder whether you are getting after her body was discovered at a recycling centre. Police were called to a facility concerned parents, you know, maybe in the Needham Market area in the absence of other information, yesterday afternoon. Seeking the advice of the gp who the death is being treated as unexplained and police are appealing for the childs they have had a connection with over mother, who may need Urgent Medical they have had a connection with over the years about whether or not, as help, to come forward. And when, and we wait to see what might happen, particularly in england, what they might do. Yeah, the tower is now is seven minutes we are getting those discussions. Past eight. The time now. Its actually very difficult to a nswer its actually very difficult to answer those questions because we dont know whats going to happen. Theres a warning hospital staff its a changing scenario and inu a on the frontline in the fight lot of work will going on into against coronavirus are at risk of high rates of post Traumatic Stress disorder if they dont get making sure that when children go the right support now. Back its safe for the children, for more than 100 nhs and healthcare the teachers, bigas we are getting workers across the uk have died from the disease concerns, concerned pa rents since the outbreak began. The bbcs Health Correspondent mark norman has been to meet staff the teachers, bigas we are getting concerns, concerned parents calling at brightons royal Sussex County if the schools to open, joyce and my children back . But yes. Hospital. Theres a language weve grown used to over covid 19 if the schools to open, joyce and my children back . But yes. It is a tricky one. We will hear more about ventilators, cpap machines and ppe. In the space of a few short weeks, that today. As a gp it is a hard the nhs has had to learn, one. Anyway people are on their own. Adapt and innovate. At some point they will have to make a personal decision. Yes. Were but theres a reason we all clap every thursday night, its because we sense theyve never being honest with patients regarding lost their compassion. That. The honest answer is we dont you look amazing, you know at the and i think until we get look so much better. Yeah, youre getting the guidance that comes out it is there, slow but sure. Very difficult to answer this yeah, absolutely. Slow and steady wins the race. Question in the directly. And i nearly seven weeks now. It is, yeah. Think its particularly for children with Underlying Health conditions or may be members of the family who are very u nwell i think it is. May be members of the family who are very unwell that it is particularly a senior nurse helping sarah stay releva nt very unwell that it is particularly relevant and it is perhaps those in touch with her husband using video calling. Patients we are getting the main sarah has spent seven calls from at the moment. Until we weeks in intensive care at the royal Sussex County hospital. Know more is actually very difficult a tracheotomy helps her breathe for us to have those discussions. But means she cant speak. There have been a number of occasions when the family jamie, good to catch up with you were told she wasnt today. When does work start . Well, i going to make it. Lovely to see you and your wife and thank you for letting us chat. Have the three kids waking up soon you described how long youve been apart, just how difficult has this so we have the three kids waking up soon so we have to get them to school and been for both of you . Ill be straight to work. Its all work jamie, thank you very much. It is. Doctorjamie parker a gp in next week, we will have been married 37 years, and its the longest weve ever been nottingham. It is coming up to a apart in that time. Quarter to seven. Thank you for clearly, your wifes been pretty poorly at times, joining us on breakfast. She looks terrific today, the culture secretary says some professional football could resume butjust how bad has it got, in england as early asjune have you been quite but will it include lower leagues . Worried, iwould imagine . Mike is at League One Club rotherha for us this morning weve had about two or three calls to find out more. Saying that that could be it, and that just tears you apart. A beautiful beautiful bright in an adjacent bed, a staff nurse sunshine ac there. Tell us the story cares for a desperately ill patient. Of how it might affect all the clubs like other hospitals, and brother, where you are this the royal sussex has seen morning. Yes, good morning. Admissions fall recently, but many staff are afraid that those absolutely beautiful sunshine this numbers will simply rise again as lockdown eases. Morning. Very different story for we dont really know what to expect. But were quite prepared, the Lower League Clubs in leagues weve been prepared for a while. One and two. Why . Because playing so. But the idea this could go behind closed doors is not such a on for many, many months . Viable option because the lifeblood yeah, its terrifying. Of clu bs its a lot of pressure, viable option because the lifeblood of clubs like this in the heart of its so many uncertainties, the community is the fans going and we dont know what to expect. But as i say, were prepared for it. Through the turnstiles. Rather are ina good through the turnstiles. Rather are the hospital is beginning in a good position, second in league to facilitate family 0ne have an average gate of nearly visits to intensive care, but over the last few weeks, many patients have died far 9000. 80 of their income comes from from family and friends. Fa ns 9000. 80 of their income comes from fans coming through these doors behind me on match day. So playing awfulfor those families, behind me on match day. So playing distressing for staff. Behind closed doors seems financially impossible for a loss of you have lost patients, just how difficult is that . Clu bs. Financially impossible for a loss of if the families dont come in, clubs. There is a growing acceptance in leagues one and two that the and to begin with we wouldnt allow any relatives to come in, majority of the 47 clubs really feel and now we are trying to facilitate it is best to end the season now so some visiting, if we possibly can. They have a Conference Meeting today at which this will be a potential outcome. There are those clubs we but we would never leave anyone will go into in a moment that are alone, on their own. Opposed to that. Get the feeling if someone does pass away, if they dont make it, from the fans, because a of youre with them at that moment . Sleepless nights for fans like matt whoevers looking after the patient, who runs the unofficial podcast. 0n the nurse looking after the patient, will stay with them and hold the one hand you are optimistic, their hand and make sure that theyre not afraid, or they dont. Second in the table, looking good, theyre not alone. But if the season doesnt finish there is the option of null and void this hugely pressured, highly skilled care of covid and it counts for nothing. Tell us patients has become the new normal. What the mood is like for all the rotherham fa ns fans at the moment. But when the ppe comes off, these nhs staff have to come to terms with their work. If. If it was safe to do so, i think a lot of us understand that is not going to be an option. Im sure they will be in locations for other clubs as well as us. Personally i think so, do you tell your family at home what sort of day youve had . The vans will agree we are going to no, ive just got the children at home, so we dont. I mean, theyre old enough to discuss it, but we dont discuss get up fans. Either way, i think it, and they know that if i needed to talk to anyone, we deserve to go up. It all depends i wouldnt talk to them. We discuss the ppe and the protective equipment i have to wear, on who you support, where your club and they tell me theyre not is. Do you have a sleepless nights worried about that. They do see how hard were working at the moment, thinking over the various scenarios . And they see how hard im working luna we are desperate to go up. It and they worry slightly about that. Colleagues from other departments is not the end of it. It is not the have recognised the personal sacrifices being made and have end of the world. We are good enough volunteered to work in intensive care. I would imagine this has been a pretty intense experience for you . It has. To go back up. How financially are yeah, i feel really privileged to be able to do it, i am not from an intensive care background, its more you worried about the future for the palliative care, so, club, if that season doesnt resume its been an absolute baptism at all . If this were 15 years ago, i by fire, but im really pleased that ive been able to do it. There is an absolute sense would be very worried we wouldnt of calm, professionalism have a club to go back to but tony and kindness which is really. Stewart has done a fantasticjob, thats made it so much easier. At the start of this crisis, got us settled, built us a fantastic many hospitals feared they might run out of ppe. Stadium, as much as we will take a there are supplies, and staff hit, we will take a big hit, we have are used to wearing it now, made sure we are planned for a rainy but its this protective equipment that enables them to do theirjob. Day and it is raining, as he said. We look set not to get too hard hit. So, i think the only thing that youre nervous about is making sure isa we look set not to get too hard hit. Is a football fan, what is it like at the moment . It will be a long that youre properly protected. Theres always a level of anxiety time it seems before you are going at the moment, like, to be allowed back into the stadium a low level of anxiety, everyday. With your mates on match day. Ijust wanted to give a little personal reflection wanting to do in life as a football of being in intensive care fan is go to the ground and talk and wearing the ppe. With your friends and things like you find yourself drawing your breath in, and if you try and move that. Just want to get back in and at the normal pace of things, you have to slow down a little bit. Watching football again. Just desperate for it, really. You can you can probably see my visor watch the German League at least. We is teeming up just as likely. Picked a german team so that is all good. Hi there, rod. We have a you can probably see my visor is steaming up. And then its the sense videoConference Meeting with the of quiet professionalism, clu bs videoConference Meeting with the with patients who are obviously clubs today. Potentially carrying extremely ill, bubbly some cancelling the season, why is that likely to happen because of the who may not make it. Finances playing behind closed extremely ill, bubbly some probably some who ma doors . The numbers keep stacking up it. And its been quite an experience so doors . The numbers keep stacking up so you have players that need to be paid their wages, all of the to do, quite challenging to see and do watch and to hear some ancillary services at the football of the stories, but a little insight clu b ancillary services at the Football Club but it puts a lot of costs a into this bubble that is intensive lot of money to put games on. A care in nhs hospitals in the uk clublike mother united, 70 80, at the moment. Werejoined now by sinead hanton, an intensive care nurse who is featured in the bbcs hospital series, and dr caroline walker, nhs psychiatrist who is helping those on the frontline. They have additional costs good morning to both of you. Weve associated and when you dont have money coming in to your profit and seen good morning to both of you. Weve seen youre working on the front loss account, ultimately you cant line, in the hospital series, how is really afford to continue training and that is the key issue for all it for you, and how important is it clubs. Everything behind closed for you that frontline workers are being recognised, and will need doors, the sanitisation, testing of players. When you talk to help, regardless of how they feel after this moment in time . Yes, peterborough, ipswich, portsmouth, there is no doubt, what weve been fleetwood and sunderland, they want through in the last seven weeks has the season to resume. Interestingly, been traumatising for the staff, i those clubs are all around the mean, its been the most play off positions. Those clubs are all around the playoff positions. Anything in play off spot, you have is a winner challenging, the most challenging seven challenging, the most challenging seven weeks they are ever going to takes all. The self interest that see in their career. And now we are becomes important because of you will probably see at the end of it at the bottom of the league, if they kind of quieting down, starting to it off to in avoid relegation. See stress levels now, they are coming through. Lots of tears, and because of the costs associated there. We are trying to instill some the staff are suffering from calm across all of their divisions. Insomnia, staff are finding it very difficult to sleep, anxiety levels try to look towards collective bargaining, that try to look towards collective bargaining, that might be high. Its sparking depression in around sponsorship or how they distribute some of the tv money or how they lobby the premier league. Staff. We a re high. Its sparking depression in staff. We are really focusing now on staff. We are really focusing now on staff well being and how we can support our staff. Its really uk death toll hit just 33,000 evident. The thing is, we are very yesterday. There is a really fine fortu nate evident. The thing is, we are very fortunate and we speak to lots of nhs workers on this programme, more balance for all of us. Fans, analyst than ever, since coronavirus has and of course the lawmakers as well. We have to always put it into hit, the attitude you seem to see is, we will crack on, it is what it context. Thank you indeed. Thank you is, we will crack on, it is what it is, im here to work, i want to also to matt. Player contract due to work, i want to serve, so to speak. End at the end ofjune and the cost that attitude isnt changing and i of continuing those if the season was to resume. 11100 players in the dont think it will which is why we admire them so much but that is also lower legs out of contract at the what could be damaging . Absolutely. End ofjune stop by the government isa end ofjune stop by the government is a the doors will open up for football to return injune, it is the staff have just done an amazing the fact that the turnstiles would job, they have gone above and be open up to make it difficult for beyond, they are doing extra long these clubs to make it difficult to hours, they do that anyway but they really have given so much to this dojust these clubs to make it difficult to do just that. Obviously they are facing big problems in terms of audiencejust getting and thats why we are seeing now, we facing big problems in terms of audience just getting into the grounds. Are seeing the fallout now, staff with pubs closed until at least earlyjuly, the british beer and Pub Association are seeing the fallout now, staff are exhausted. But yes, you know, says millions of pints will have to go down the drain. Its been an emotional rollercoaster bens looking at this today. For all of us. And how are you . Im mike was talking about football and how they were going to go about good excavation work yes, you say doing business and pubs are one of you are good, its almost like its those areas that are going to have really big problems. As you touched not to be acknowledged if you arent, i dont want to put words in your mouth. Or presume how you are, on it, the idea of us drinking a bit but you are working. We have a great more. Sales might have gone up sharply during lockdown but of support system within the trust, course pubs and restaurants are shut there is some great measures in place to support our staff, the with no sign of them opening before earlyjuly at the earliest so it is charity has been amazing. Weve put causing a big problem for the some great measures in place to industry. Let me paint you some of support staff, weve got Mental Health first aiders which are the numbers. So, yes, alcohol sales did jump 22 in march with lots of people trained to support our staff and stocking up for the lockdown. Recognise and notice when there is trauma and we can signpost them to help, weve got the speaking up guardians which again are very we spent 200 Million Pounds more than the same time last year. The Charity Alcohol change uk has found 21 of us think heavily involved in encouraging staff to speak up about concerns and we are drinking more during the pandemic. Issues, the charity has been but if we just look at beer sales, heres the issue. Amazing. Weve got clinical in march, sales in shops went up 10 psychologists on tap, really, 2a 7. But fell by 40 in pubs so there is a great support system remember the lockdown only within the trust. And thats really came in at the end of march, important for us. At this time. So the figures for april and may thank you. Lets talk to doctor are set to be even worse. And beer in casks or kegs destined caroline. Im not sure if you are for pubs doesnt last long before it goes off. One of those health clinicians, so according to new figures today psychiatrist, psychologist, working from the british beer within each staff on call but how and Pub Association 70 million pints could thrown away during the lockdown. Concerned are you that you are seeing enough people. We heard there clearly how much pressure people are for all of those brewers, it is under, and as nagging said, they proving to be a big problem. Some we re ta ke under, and as nagging said, they take the attitude, we are doing our proving to be a big problem. Some were able to give it away, some were able to sell it but many are having job. And what concerns do you have to just able to sell it but many are having tojust simply able to sell it but many are having to just simply poorer down the about people getting the right help drain. Pour it down the drain. At the right time. Is naga set. Its been really interesting, weve brewers like greg from stroud brewery are having to make really tough decisions. Had far fewer healthcare from march when the lockdown professionals presenting to supported services in the first few weeks of the crisis than we had this announcement was made and pubs stop selling beer, we lost half of our time last year. And i think thats business selling to pubs and indeed about the fact they have had their had to stop selling to our own bar heads down, pulling together, to do which left us with a huge amount of beer with no customers to sell it everything they possibly can to help patients through this first peak but to. Some beer in the tanks that we now we are starting to see increasing people coming forward and hadnt put in the casks. Rather than i think we are going to see more and more as time goes by. You made a really good point, healthcare waste the beer, we decided to take professionals really struggle to some of that and do an emergency canning and reproduced a special admit when theyre finding it difficult and i would like to share bear. We dry hopped it and made it a that i, as a professional, have found this really difficult, like the rest of the nation, we have all bit special and did it in been experiencing incredible levels collaboration with a local charity of stress, anxiety, and some of those in the most affected areas, who take food, working associated starting to experience incredible with the foodbank, take waste food and turn it into fantastic meals trauma and grief as well. Its really important we start to which they delivered to homes for normalise that and im hopeful the people who are self isolating, culture is changing slowly, we are vulnerable and cant get out. Ben, starting to talk more about Mental Health and in the workplace. To what so vulnerable and cant get out. Ben, so many people are going to be watching and think of course extent, if someone comes to you businesses have to adapt but isnt possibly initially slightly ita shame, businesses have to adapt but isnt it a shame, all the big going down the drain because of it is about relu cta ntly, possibly initially slightly reluctantly, knowing they need help but sing it out loud for the first adapting, though, isnt it . So many time, to someone like you. I imagine those are pretty traumatic in businesses have been so impressed with how businesses have managed to itself, to what extent can they be helped and its worth saying, what adapt to keep their businesses ticking over in the best way they difference can people like you make . Can. Lots of firms is doing online can make the world of difference, as human beings we need to connect with delivery, others are trying to each other, when we are struggling repackage things. My local pub are we tend to isolate so coming to doing meal kits so using all the ingredients they would normally sell someone we tend to isolate so coming to someone and to share with them, its in the restaurant and making it up asa in the restaurant and making it up as a kid you can cook at home. The problem is, it is not up to the sort absolutely right, you need to Say Something is bothering you but the of capacity they are normally used relief you feel from that, getting to, it only makes about 30 or 40 of better, its amazing, and Something Like this, when its a traumatic their sales so in that respect, it experience we are all going through, isnt going to make them the money they were making before that at most of us will experience a bit of least it helps them pay some bills stress and anxiety in this first few weeks but that will settle but for to keep them ticking over. The government has well has also stepped some, thats going to be more severe in and said look, they will be able and its going to last for longer and its going to last for longer and develop into things like ptsd. To claim it on tax so they are not cani and develop into things like ptsd. Getting a tax hit as well as the can ijust and develop into things like ptsd. Can i just asked, and develop into things like ptsd. Can ijust asked, im sorry, ijust wa nted can ijust asked, im sorry, ijust wanted to ask sinead on that beer as well. All in all, a really thought, can you remember the first difficult time and expect the next time you said it out loud, i dont few months to be even worse because the march figures only relate to the know, was it one of your colleagues, your friends, when you said, last period, the two weeks or so of know, was it one of your colleagues, yourfriends, when you said, was there a moment when you said, you lockdown when we were all staying at home so the next couple of months know, ive got to tell someone im could be even more tough but as you struggling. Can you remember that heard, business fines away and it time . We do it every day we talk will bounce back and business is pretty resilient. Ben, one day you andl pretty resilient. Ben, one day you and i will be back in a bar about everything, we have a great together. Oh, yes. We will make a support system, myself and my start on all of that beer, shall we . Colleagues, we brief and we debrief every morning, theres been plenty absolutely. Take care, ben, see you of tears over the past seven weeks, soon. We are not afraid to talk about it but that comes with experience with me. Im very much promoting speaking Northern Ireland is home to some of the most famous political up me. Im very much promoting speaking up about stuff and when we are murals in europe, many of them symbolising the violent divisions stressed we talk about that, its of the regions past. Now about encouraging our staff to do the same. And reaching out to but, the wall art has taken on a more unified front during the pandemic, bringing people from different sides them. And encouraging them to speak of the community together. 0ur ireland correspondent chris page has more. For years, murals often stood up about the strains and the challenges over the last seven weeks and they are starting to speak about it now. Images of violence and fear. More so than the last few weeks. In paramilitary territory. The the last week, staff have really Coronavirus Crisis is generating a started to come forward, actually. Different brand of street art with so thats good. That is very good. One unifying theme. People in thank you for talking to us. And it will be helped other people, she clo nta rf one unifying theme. People in clontarf in east belfast are said, hearing people say it out loud literally seeing a positive sign is helpful in itself. Sinead and amongst the difficult news. Literally seeing a positive sign amongst the difficult newsm literally seeing a positive sign amongst the difficult news. It has brought communities closer together. It is good to see some of the sectarian minerals over the road and doctor walker. Thank you both so much for your input this morning. As these wonderful ones for the health always, we say whenever we talk to service. Other traditions are being anyone in the healthcare sector, thank you for everything you do, we adapted, too. Loyalists create cannot say it enough. Bonfires of strong and sometimes you can see sinead in a bbc 2s hospital, coronavirus two part special, over controversial symbols of identity was up usually this time of year, on the bbc iplayer now. Thousands of wooden pallets like these are added up and piled one on top of each other for the lights the time is 8 20am. Later in the summer adhere, bonfire as more people prepare to return to work builders have decided to use the following the easing of the government lockdown, what about those jobs resort resources to spell out a where keeping your distance isnt an option . Driving instructors have huge message. It is a common cause told this programme they are facing huge financial which all communities are rallying problems and need clearer to. In west well fast, younger advice about how to drive their businesses forward. Members of the republican socialist breakfasts tim muffett has more. Party are making ppe for staff and ca re party are making ppe for staff and care homes. West belfast. Two metres social distancing, whilst sat side by side in a car . Party are making ppe for staff and care homes. West belfast. It is its impossible. Important. For us, it is the be all for steve white from leeds, and end all for us, it is our and thousands of other driving instructors across the country, its a huge problem. Politics, it is what we need to do. And the delivery is being organised by two former paramilitary and from that point, prisoners. 0ne by two former paramilitary prisoners. One is a loyalist, the ive not been able to work since. Other republicans do once they would have been enemies and now they are a weve just got no guidance as to what we should be doing and what we shouldnt be doing. Team. 25 years ago, what we were we dont want to work if its not going through. This is completely safe because we dont want to put ourselves or pupils at risk, but then again, the guidelines different but there are still people recently from the Prime Minister say to help so i think if we can get that we should go to work and keep a safe distance where possible. Its just a little bit too through the trouble is, i think we vague for us, really. Can get through covid 19. the vast majority of driving through the trouble is, i think we instructors are self employed, can get through covid19. I think when faced with something that so cant be furloughed. Many have experienced a complete loss of income. Welcome to breakfast with Charlie Stayt union kevin courtney. And naga munchetty. 0ur headlines today thank you so much for talking to me is it safe to go back to school in june . This morning. What are you hoping to Teachers Unions in england hear today . We want to hear what the will meet government scientists amid concerns over the return to class. Science is, how much children a call for nhs workers whove treated coronavirus patients to get transmit from one to another and to the same Mental Health support adults. We want to know what the science is about who is vulnerable, as soldiers returning from war. Ifa science is about who is vulnerable, if a five year old child is living it would be like having 15, 20 patients who are really with an 85 year old grandmother, on the edge, who are going to die whats the chance, what are the in the next few hours if you dont risks for that grandmother, what do every thing, every 12 hours. Should we do about that . We also thats how bad it is. Wa nt should we do about that . We also want to know what the risk is for our society as a whole. We want to understand what they are saying about the total number of cases and good morning. Whether they now have contact londons transport network gets tracing running well enough that a £1. 6 billion bailout from the government it stops Contact Tracing on the number of the network from running out of money, but will mean fares cases can keep the case can blow and going lower. We are not convinced rise to cover the cost. About those things and we want to see Scientific Evidence on them. The good morning. The government says it is opening National Education union, you cover the door for the return all of the uk, what do you make of of professional football the idea that at school, take the in england injune, but how will that affect Lower League Clubs . Im at rotherham to find out. England wales border, you can have a School Literally either side of the border, a couple of miles apart, with different rules at the moment and is it safe to go back into the or different guidance on being open. Sea, surfers are in the water for what do you make of that . We think the first time in two months but there are real concern about people that will be very difficult. We dont actually organise in scotland flocking to the coast if they dont know what they are doing. The lifeguards arent here yet. Although we talk very closely to the Education Institute in scotland but good morning. Its friday, 15th may. The question in oils, we are our top story unions representing expecting guidance from the welsh teachers and school staff will meet government today, we are engaging the governments top with them but we dont expect School Scientific advisors today, as they demand reassurance over opening to be imminent in wales and the safety of opening schools in england from next month. Thats because the tests that weve last night was the eighth week of clapping for frontline workers and carers. Set arent being met there and we now, leading psychiatrists warn that think the Welsh Government is nhs staff are at risk of high rates listening to us. We think the of post Traumatic Stress disorder if they dont receive english government, the government the right support. Charlotte rose reports. In westminster needs to look at whats happening in Northern Ireland, in wales, in scotland, where the governments are not rushing forward with this. Was that schools in england are counting down the days until some pupils could return to the classroom freudian slip, saying the english government . Is the westminster government . Is the westminster government but they cover england, as faras government but they cover england, as far as education is concerned. on the first ofjune. Have just been reading the daily mail newspaper, reading, what been spoken about, Gavin Williamson has but teaching unions say written a piece, David Blunkett has they want reassurance about the risks of transmission been speaking, there seems to be a of the virus between children and adults. Line or ought one of the angles, the schools are already taking measures like increased cleaning, reducing class sizes, unions are putting teachers, putting staggering the start and end of the school day for different groups of pupils, and creating education at risk if they block what one way systems around their sites. But teachers are asking why the government is trying to do. Tell the government is recommending me about the relationship that you people wear face masks on public transport and at the supermarket, are understanding between the teaching unions and the government . But not in schools. Weve always said that we very much hope to see schools returning do you know, it was a complete shock to my union and to every other union in the week of the first ofjune. When the Prime Minister on sunday and we will continue to work with unions but also announced that he was opening your many of the School Bodies to make one, reception year and year six, sure that schools return in a phased, considered, none of us had any foresight of that and controlled way. Making sure that the safety of both whatsoever. None of us knew, none of children and those who work in schools are our top priority. Us had been taken into any confidence that they were then going to say the nursery class would open the next day which they didnt announce on sunday night and there later today, welsh first minister, Mark Drakeford is due to set out are real problems with that. If you plans of the easing of the lockdown are real problems with that. If you in wales but emphasising the need are in an infant school, you only for continued caution. Have the nursery class, the reception class, your one and year unlike the uk, he wont be setting two. Three of those years are now out a timetable for lifting restrictions on schools supposed to go back on the 1st of june but they are supposed to be and businesses. Split in half. That requires six but like england, its expected classrooms in a four classroom to use a traffic light system based school and it makes no sense. They on the rate of infection. Havent engaged with us at all on although that rate is slowing this notion of 15 being the teaching across the four nations of the uk, yesterdays figures showed a28 group size and in most of our people had died from covid 19 in the past 21 hours, schools, the classrooms are so small that you cannot possibly do social taking the total to 33,614. Distancing with 15 children in a class. And yesterday, the office for National Statistics released figures the swab goes right which show that children are as to the back of the throat. The results of a swab test survey of 11,000 people in england showed likely to be infected and to have that around one in 400 people are currently infected. The infection as adults. Thats not around 0. 27 of the operation. Saying they might suffer it as badly and its not necessarily saying they transmit it as much, the science is new figures released by nhs england also revealed that more unclear on those matters. But they than a quarter of those who died are as likely to have the infection from the virus had diabetes. According to the office for National Statistics as adults. And on that we dont know whether that is type one or type two. Basis we think they have to be last night, thousands of people came socially distancing as much as out once again to clap for carers. Adults and we dont understand any it was the eighth week that scientific basis for saying you people took to the streets dont socially distancing schools to mark their appreciation but thats what the government for workers on the frontline. Across the uk, and from up high, advice amounts to. The fact is if and below deck, people showed their support for those children dont get back into school still battling against the virus. There is going to be a problem in charlotte rose, bbc news. Terms of Mental Health, in terms of education particularly for those children who are with disadvantaged backgrounds. First of all, we really do want to get back to wider School Opening as soon do want to get back to wider School Opening as soon as do want to get back to wider School Opening as soon as its safe to do so. Opening as soon as its safe to do so. I think its important to sate lets get the latest from our political correspondent, most schools are open at the moment iain watson. And our members are in helping the good morning to you. So the issue of children of key workers and Vulnerable Children so the vast when schools should open, of course majority of schools are open, we are talking about wider opening in all its all across the uk, but the of this conversation. We want that devolved governments will take decisions are different times, and to happen as soon as possible. Weve said and reset what we think are in england is an important meetings five very sensible steps we want the government to work through with us. Between teachers and us. Scientist. It is important. In we think the case count in Society Needs to be low enough that contact england, Primary Schools are supposed to be going back on a tracing can keep it low so that can phased basis from the beginning of next month but the teaching unions do some of the work of social have questioned whether this is safe distancing. We think there needs to bea and whether the right measures have distancing. We think there needs to be a plan for social distancing in been put in place by the government schools when our first test is met to convince them that most children and we can see how to do that, if you dont have 15 but if you have a and teachers will be safe. The government is saying is come and smaller number you can start to talk to the scientific advisors, to think about social distancing. smaller number you can start to think about social distancing. I did ask you about the relationship that englands chief medical officer and others, we are past the peak of the the teaching unions have with the government at this moment in time. Virus, they will tell you about the risk and how to manage the risk, and and the second largest teaching they are hoping that will unlock union britain, the nasuwt reportedly some of the resistance from the has threatened to sue School Chiefs teaching unions. There is a difficulty for the government as if teachers are and i quote put at well, which the education secretary risk in the classroom. Do you think Gavin Williamson is trying to address this morning, he is saying theres a real possibility this eve ryo ne address this morning, he is saying everyone in education has a duty to could go that far . I do, yes. Weve Work Together to reopen schools because it will help the most disadvantaged pupils, but equally he got similar legal advice to the has got to convince parents that it nasuwt. There is an obligation on is safe to send their children to employers to keep people safe, if school so he is emphasising there will be new measures in place, new you go ahead with School Opening hygiene measures, keeping children without a proper scientific basis. In small groups because they cant socially distance, but if he doesnt we will also say to our members that get both parents and teachers on they shouldnt put themselves in side he will have no option but to harms way, they shouldnt work in delay the reopening schools in unsafe buildings, if you are working england, which is located in scotland, wales, and northern walking up to your building and ireland. Thank you very much. Its on fire, you dont go into it. If we are not convinced it is safe i transport for london has secured a £1. 6 billion bailout think lots of schools will not open. From the government to Keep Services but this conflict is with the running until september. The network had seen its income virtually disappear as passenger numbers dropped by more than 90 government and its over the science, during the lockdown. Londons mayor sadiq khan, its not, for example, between said the terms of the support meant teachers and head teachers, head commuters would have to pay a heavy teachers and head teachers, head teachers are as concerned as price with fare rises. Teachers are as concerned as teachers and teaching assistants about the safety of their children the nhs must have an adequate supply and the safety of those children, of personal protective equipment and Rapid Testing in place parents and grandparents and thats for services to reopen safely, a really major concern. Another Health Unions are warning. Nhs england has told hospitals to restart routine and non urgent thing the ons said yesterday, in operations which were put on hold during the pandemic. This figure they have now for how the government has said it is working around the clock much fire as there is. They said to provide more ppe. Yesterday its about one in 400. People have the virus at any moment. In every two full entry primary the death of a newborn baby girl schools, theres a chance that one is being investigated after her body child or adult has the virus. We was discovered at a recycling centre. Need to make sure if that happens, police were called to a facility in the Needham Market that virus is not spreading from area yesterday afternoon. The death is being treated that virus is not spreading from as unexplained and police that person because we know if you let go of it, the r rate of this are appealing for the childs mother, who may need Urgent Medical help, to come forward. Virus is very high so we need to make sure we can do social distancing in order notjust to keep our members save, distancing in order notjust to keep our members save, teachers and teaching assistants, but also parents and grandparents as well. It is seven minutes past seven. Top flight football in germany is set to resume from tomorrow thank you very much for taking the with games being held behind closed doors. Cutout of themselves supporting further south, it stays completely their own team, that is one dry. Once again, across many parts solution, it wont quite be the same though, there are tough other rules. Of the country, it is a dry and sunny start. There has been a frost lots of disinfecting, including of the ball, social distancing model of in some areas this morning, probably the last frost we will see for the the ball, social distancing model of the pitch, not sure how that will work on the pitch. There are also foreseeable future. A few showers lots of other rules in terms of run up to the game. Players have to have two weeks of warranting before are possible mainly across northern the game, while they are training, scotland. Still some chilly air in so the game, while they are training, so they only go between the hotel, the training ground, but they have shetland, but elsewhere, even though to be tested twice a week, just cloud will increase during the day, negative, otherwise they cant play. Temperatures creeping closer to in general though this is a big where they should be for the time of experiment because a lot of people year. This evening and overnight, are saying it might not work. If we suddenly see an outbreak of showers continuing in the north and infections in the next few weeks the west of scotland, most places will whole thing could be called off. Theres lots of money involved. Be dry. Some clear skies here and there but its not going to be as 0bviously foot all businesses here cold as it has been. On saturday, are hoping even if they cant get fa ns are hoping even if they cant get fans in the stadium you might end up with billions of people watching on there will be some rain at times in tv. Ln, how are advisors later today. You . Im all right, thanks, im they are seeking reassurance that reopening schools in england next month will be safe. Getting there. Tell us about your teachers have expressed concern that experience, what happened . Social distancing will be difficult to implement and have questioned why getting there. Tell us about your experience, what happened . M getting there. Tell us about your experience, what happened . It came Face Coverings arent being advised. On me pretty quick, actually, ive but the education secretary started coughing first and then my has insisted the safety of pupils and teachers temperature started going up. Then i was in bed from then on for about 11 is his number one priority. Days before i was admitted to hospital, whereas spent 16 days and i was on various hospital, whereas spent 16 days and i was on various wars hospital, whereas spent 16 days and i was on various wars and ended up in critical care. But im on the we can speak now to the first minister of wales, Mark Drakeford. Mend now awards. You are a nursing assistant. You have worked a very good morning to you. I in the nhs for 31 years. I cant understand that you are today going imagine this wasnt very, very to be revealing some detail of how a lockdown may look in wales, what can frightening for you, despite the fa ct frightening for you, despite the fact you will have colleagues and you tell us . Well, we will be indeed you would have seen people being treated. It was. It was really scary. Its probably the worst time publishing today a document that shows people in wales the phases ever that ive had to go through. That we think we will need to go mason you are one of those through in order to resume activity matter of fact kind of people who we in society and in our economy. Where using a traffic light system, were seat speak to from time to time. Saying to people here, were in and who we have lots of respect for. Lockdown at the moment, the first thing we will do will be to move im curious, we saw a moment ago into the red zone. It will not be those images of you coming out of very different to what we doing now, it will be the careful, cautious, first steps that we can take hospital and everyone around watching what was going on. But can together. We will monitor that only imagine what that felt like for really carefully. Provided the virus you and your family, doesnt start circulating again, we only imagine what that felt like for you and yourfamily, of only imagine what that felt like for you and your family, of course, who hadnt seen you for such a long will be able to move into the amber time. Yeah, that was probably one of zone, when there will be more things that people can do, meeting friends the hardest things, not being able to have any visitors. Itjust made and family, schools beginning to it worse. But coming out of the reopen, going shopping, all those hospital i was overwhelmed. They didnt know what to say to them. I normal things, again, reopen, going shopping, all those normalthings, again, monitor reopen, going shopping, all those normal things, again, monitor it was just crying. They didnt know really carefully and if were what to say. I didnt expected, to successful and the virus under be honest. I would imagine you would control, were into the green zone. Have had a great deal of, if nothing the green zone will look quite like else, curiosity, it is probably life before coronaviruses started because people care, but what it is but not identical to it, because like. As we are now literally asking until we have a vaccine or really you that question, you have been through a thing were hearing a lot effective treatment, coronaviruses with us for a long time to come. So, about. What you people when they say youve gone through the zones, can i to you what was it like going through that experience are now coming out of it because yellow i ask you some specifics . For example, it is very much in the news today in just say to people, you know, be relation to england and schools, it safe, wash your hands, to be in a isa relation to england and schools, it is a devolved issue for wales, so, situation like i was n, i wouldnt when mike schools open in wales . Wish it on anybody. I didnt think well, just to be clear, the schools myself that i would ever catch it. Have stayed open in wales right and i think thats the way a lot of through this period for children of people are. They dont think it will key workers and Vulnerable Children, happen to them. But it happened to and we have had more children coming me and im still here to tell the to school since the easter break, we story. But i wouldnt wish it on have had 90,000 children last week anybody. Its horrible. Really having Free School Meals in wales scary. Its great to see that you through that system. Were not going are recovering, elaine, although it isa are recovering, elaine, although it is a tough road. We can talk to to bring, however, new cohorts of clare now. Clare, you are recovered. Children back into school on the 1st ofjune. We wanted to have a further it was sometime you got it, you got period of conversation without it quite near the beginning of when we we re teaching unions, without education it quite near the beginning of when we were hearing about pandemic. What happened to you . Authorities, and really importantly, we were hearing about pandemic. What happened to you . I was in new york with parents, to make sure that when at the end of february, the we ask the next group of children to beginning of march, the day i left new york they declared a state of come into school, everybody is confident that everything has been emergency. So when i got very suddenly, soon after arriving back, done to make those schools safe for a really High Temperature and felt children, safer teachers. Because if terrible, the worst headache i have we dont do that, you can open had, and felt really, really unwell, schools as much as you like, if not as bad as elaine, because they people arent confident that their never ended up going to hospital, safety has been attended to, they but i was unwell for about four days simply wont turn up. When you see with a High Temperature and not even the disparity between your advice being able to get out of bed other and what we hearing from the than to go to the bathroom. Then it Education Department in england, sort of left me almost as quickly as they arrived. Though i was very that some schools will open on the tight for the next two weeks and had 1st ofjune meetings taking place really bad pains in my legs, which today can you try and explain to is still get, in the calves. But id people why it is that you are taking didnt end up needing any treatment a different view . Well, i think its other than painkillers and fluids. Just a difference of emphasis in so im fortunate for that. Clare, underlying approach. Our advice to people in wales is still to stay obviously of course we talk about the risks associated with covid. Home and to protect the nhs and to some people insist we dont hear save home and to protect the nhs and to enough we dont from people like save lives. So, we are going about it with maximum caution. And were you who talk about the ability to doing it on a social partnership recover and the fact that most model. We had a meeting of our people who do have it to recover. Do social Partnership Council in wales you think that is true, we dont hear enough of those stories . yesterday, bringing trade unions, employers, the Welsh Government, think thats right, to be honest. Round the table together. And we though it is a dangerous disease, is wa nt to much more dangerous in terms of the round the table together. And we want to have that conversation continuing for a short while yet, to death rate than the flu, but make sure that everything is in nevertheless the vast, vast majority place. And it may be that we are in of people who get this illness a slightly more cautious frame of survive. Absolutely 99 of people. Mind here, but thats because we are we think it is important that we put determined not to do anything that things into perspective. And while the deaths are unbelievably sad and would set coronaviruses off again circulating in wales, because if tragic and the way that people die that were to happen, wed be back to alone is tragic, we also have to understand that most people do not square that were to happen, wed be back to square one. That were to happen, wed be back to square one. Wed have to reimpose lockdown restrictions, nothing could die and we also, sadly, know that be worse for our economy, nothing the old you are the greater the risk could be a greater ask of our people of dying from a sevenfold increase than to go through this all again. Of dying from a sevenfold increase of every decade. We have to hear we dont want that to happen. Thats these stories. Actually what with what and what you were talking about why we are taking this very before with the schools is we have step by step and cautious approach, and our traffic light system is got fear everywhere. This is what there to explain to people in wales ive pick up. Ill look after how that will work out over the doctors with mental illness. They weeks and months to come. Are fearful, people are fearful. The how that will work out over the weeks and months to comem how that will work out over the weeks and months to come. If a child sad thing is we can never guarantee lives in wales and their school is safety. You can never Say Something open on the 1st ofjune in england, is completely safe, life isnt what then . Well, i think it is for com pletely is completely safe, life isnt completely safe. I think if we saw the parents of that child to have a and heard more tales of people who conversation with the head teacher get better and more who leave icu, of that school. Its not going to be then we might start to remove some compulsory in england for parents to send their children to school, so, of that fear and this illness into pa rents send their children to school, so, parents will need to have that conversation, and if theyre perspective and its a horrible satisfied and if they think that thing and a wish it had never everything is in place, then of happened, but we are getting out of course they should send their child it now. Clare, just briefly, one of to that school. If they are not confident that everything is as it the things were talking about is needs to be, then they will need to Mental Health support for nhs workers and comparing them to the continue to look after that child at home in. Recent reports have same trauma they are having. You mentioned the word fear, the same suggested that wales may be trauma as soldiers returning from disproportionately badly hit in any war. How important is this . It is recession which follows the immediate situation we are in are there measures that you will be important not just for the front taking to try and alleviate some of line. All of those attentions are on that . Jonny weve brought together a frontline care. Doctors are making £500 million front to support businesses here in wales, so that Big Decisions who are actually businesses here in wales, so that businesses that were successful themselves in an anxious or before coronaviruses can emerge and depressed state so it, and nurses, and the rest of the health staff, so it has got to be everybody was my carry on being successful afterwards. We re carry on being successful afterwards. Were using all the measures that the uk government has solution is yes to treated but also put in place, and i always say that bring groups together, bring doctors, nursed after, health stuff we are very appreciative of everything the uk government has together. Nurses, health staff. Done with itsJob Retention everything the uk government has to discuss what they are going done with its Job Retention scheme and so on, were trying to make through together. I know you are maximum use of those things in struggling a little bit with a cough wales, and then to plug any gaps by at the moment, people absolutely understand. Elaine, you work in using our £500 million front working Mental Health, you are a nursing assistant in Mental Health. What with businesses and business organisations to try to make sure about the impact on yourself . How that, as i say, as this is that were are you feeling now, looking back a successful, trading well, proper little bit, and may be thinking about going back to work in the futures in front of them, that we preserve them, and they can resume future. I have to see howl am but i that work as coronavirus comes to an end. Mark drakeford, first minister have been off about two months. I of wales, thank you for your time have been off about two months. I have no return to work date yet as this morning. Yet, but, just to see how we go. So, for those of you who are missing have you had any help or advice watching sport, perhaps some good news is around the corner. About making sure you are ok . Yes, the culture secretary says some professional football could resume the employers have been really good. In england as early asjune, but will it include lower leagues . They have offered me assistance, if mike is at League One Club rotherham i need any help. They can refer me for us this morning with all the sports news. Good morning to you, mike. Good on that at the moment, i just cant do it. Elaine, we wish you well and morning, a club who are doing really well, second in league one until the season was stopped by the im glad to see the flowers there andi coronavirus, and this place, they im glad to see the flowers there and i am sure yourfamily are delighted to have you back. Thank have been getting average crowds of around 8900, really healthy you for your time this morning. Attendances. Its very different to what is happening in the premier league, where you have got the tv money. Here, 80 of the club revenue comes from people coming here and this weekend will be the first filling the seats week in, week out. Since the start of the lockdown, there is a meeting of the league when people in england can travel to exercise and enjoy the open air. Clu bs there is a meeting of the league clubs today via videoconference and but, with good Weather Forecast, they will be discussing how can they the rnli is warning us to be careful of coasts where rescue viably finish the season, how can services have been restricted. Breakfasts john maguire you viably finish the season, how can yu pay viably finish the season, how can you pay to stage matches behind is on porthtowan beach in cornwall closed doors when you havent got for us this morning. Fa ns closed doors when you havent got fans coming in . However, opinions are divided. Last night, six clubs it is lovely seeing you out and about but what a lovely place to be united behind the peterborough united chairman saying, we have to sent to. It is, a fantastic place to finish the season for the integrity of football. Those clubs be sent to. It is dutiful, it is peterborough, portsmouth, oxford, sunderland, ipswich and fleetwood, rugged, the North Cornwall coast but they will be arguing a very it isa different case at the meeting today. Rugged, the North Cornwall coast but it is a strange day, it is almost before any football can resume, counterintuitive for me to say look there would have to be training, how gorgeous it is but to be honest, some clubs are resuming individual dont come here unless you live training in the premier league. Some here. This is where the rnli players are worried about going into lifeguards would be based. The surf tackles when full Team Training resumes. But the manager of the lifesaving club, there. One of the runaway leaders in the premier most important things they would be league, liverpool, says they should doing is assessing what the sea not really fear that. When we can state is like. Putting flags into start again and how the premier league will organise it and how the let people know where and where not clubs will organise it, it will not to go swimming and surfing to ensure bea clubs will organise it, it will not be a threat for anybody because when it is as safe as possible for people we start, we have enough space on the pitches for all the players, so visiting. There are about 30 or a0 i think the premier League Grounds will be the safest places, the surfers around and they will all be training grounds, will be the safest locals and they know what they are places in europe, because it is doing so the big concern is with the government advice changing earlier pretty much not possible to get this week, people coming to the really close to each other. But coast, is it safe for them to go into the water . Thats it, we will be in as good a shape as possible, and that is what after weeks of lockdown, the great we have to use. The england captain, british coastline is more enticing than ever but it is not inviting. If the bigger shops were open, the harry kane, has been speaking about the burglary at the house of his postcards would say, wish you teammate dele alli earlier this week, in which the player was held werent here. One major issue is safety. The rnli who runs at knifepoint and also punched. Dele alli was back at individual training at tottenham yesterday. alli was back at individual training at tottenham yesterday. I think it lifeguarding here on the coast is was a little bit of shock i think he was a little bit of shock i think he concerned, especially about was angry obviously at the daytrippers. For locals such as situation. He has said himself, the nathan and his family, this is their most important thing is that no one was injured, no one was hurt, which first chance to get back in the is the main thing. So i guess it is water. They have been pestering me every single night, can we go one of them things where it is surfing . Can we go to the beach . Quite looking forward to it, guys, definitely scary, it is something that may be wakes you up a little arent we . Yeah. Those who live here arent we . Yeah. Those who live here are normally more than happy to bit, notjust us as footballers but people in generaljust have to be share their home with visitors but this beautiful rugged coastline can careful and put in things that are be hazardous. If you are local and you know what it does make like, you there to stop people trying to get into your home. Back here at are you know what it does make like, you a re careful you know what it does make like, you are careful and you know so youve just got to watch your kids, what your selves, be aware of the tides rotherham, lets get the view of the and ask people if youre not sure. Chairman tony stewart, about what is if we walk around the side of the going on in the lower leagues ahead cliff and get cut off, that kind of of this big meeting today. You will thing. I have been surfing for15 be at the meeting today. Where does this club stand and what about the years or so thing. I have been surfing for15 years or so and you know when not to six clubs coming out last night go in, you know what to look for. If saying we have to finish this season you are not confident, dont risk for the integrity of football . Well, it. So, surfers make up, in england i think for the integrity of football . Well, ithink any for the integrity of football . Well, i think any club will have its own at least, that covid continues to opinion. Our opinion is that we are waiting to get a decision today, create problems and life remains anything but normal. Hopefully, with regards to weather we proceed. I think probably it is iamjoint mixed with regard to being able to i am joint back on the beach from people from the rnli and steve. Finish the season, or call it null and void. What do you hope, what do you think . Well, i am a bit biased, since people have been allowed to go we are in the second position. From to the beach and head into the sea, what i gather from talking to our we have had a number of increases in guys, what i gather from talking to our guys, i think we would like to finish the season. And go for two shouts for our lifeboat crew. We Something Like a point per game . I have no way of keeping people safe think points per game double there keeping swimmers away from surfers, keeping swimmers away from surfers, keeping people away from currents has to be a consensus, everybody is and giving that safety advice. We divided on this, but talk about how are concerned people may get in difficult it is staging games behind difficulty and the rescue Services Just are not around to help. And the advice are that people can go closed doors, maybe next season as swimming and you can even drive to well, when you have got players to pay and no money coming in . Well, i go to places like this . But you are concerned about the number of did, with my financial director, a people. So if people dont know what count up to the end of may, and it they are doing, people going was showing that rotherham would be swimming, kayaking, surfing on their own. Just because you can doesnt £600,000 cash flow problems, that is mean you should stop our advice to the end of may for if that ran into people is a stick within your christmas, behind closed doors, it limits. Now is not the time to learn would be over £1 million, and i to surf, learn to kayak or venture think for league one and league two, further out. Stay within your limits that would be a disaster, and it and keep close family under would follow with a lot of clubs supervision. While the government having to go into administration. Advice might be to exercise alone, and your club is pretty financially we would say exercise with a family stable, thanks to the way you have member and watch them at all times. Invested over the years, so do you when do you think lifeguards will fearfor invested over the years, so do you fear for some clubs . I do, really. Return to the beach . You normally because obviously, without revenue, patrol around 230 . All the players are contracted, so, return to the beach . You normally patrol around 230 . This year will be a much reduced surface. Possibly as money is going out but none is low as 70 beaches around the coming in. So, it is inevitable that country. We are doing all we can to mmp country. We are doing all we can to ramp up that service now and get them on the beaches as soon as what i have said as regards possible but that will not be in administration will follow, unless time for this weekend. Wright was up dominic, you know the beach here things change. And hopefully todays really well, you teach people to serve here. Right. Meeting will give us some knowledge as to what the way forward is. Do you think there will be a decision today, in a word . I think we will really well, you teach people to serve here. Right. This beach is actually dangerous beach. I use this know a lot more, and we need to know beach and sent agnes. We have real problems when the swell gets bigger. A lot more, because a lot of we have lots of currents, you can discussions behind the scenes has been going on and i think a lot of see a rip out to sea. That is major chair people like me really want to when you are teaching people to serve because you have not got to know what is the way forward, are we worry about them enjoying themselves but you have to keep them constantly in the right position. We work only going to resume playing, do we at waist deep and that is what we are recommending with the rnli. If finish or do we resume . you go in the water, keep your feet going to resume playing, do we on the ground. People come down here finish or do we resume . I think it is 1a00 players out of contract in league one and league two at the end and theyjust on the ground. People come down here and they just dont on the ground. People come down here and theyjust dont know. At the ofjune as league one and league two at the end moment, there are no lifeguards to of june as well. League one and league two at the end ofjune as well. Good luck with the meeting. That meeting starts at ask any advice. Please ask a local 9. 30, so much to talk about in that surfer and if you are not capable, if you dont know, just dont go meeting. Mike, i bet you are so into the top we really, really dont wa nt into the top we really, really dont want any more accidents happening. This is not what has been happening chuffed to be inside a Football Ground, even if there is no action over the last couple of months going on . Absolutely, im not being because of lack of facilities, this is not the time to start learning to surffull stop is not the time to start learning to surf full stop know, is not the time to start learning to surffull stop know, not is not the time to start learning to surf full stop know, not at all. And so silly but i did have their hair surf full stop know, not at all. And so schools are not operating at the stand up on the back of my neck when moment so if you dont know, please i walked in here this morning. Ive dont go in. You are going in, been here a couple of times to watch though, arent you . Yes, because i am at experienced surfer you are games, in the championship, but its that mixed emotion, knowing there is going to tell us exactly what its not going to be fans in these places like. League you can do it for us for a very long time, you feel. Thank you. A stunning morning, you cant get any better but the idea is if and when places like cornwall, weve got a Beautiful Image of a same right around the coast, they beach town in cornwall for you. Most will be back, they will be welcoming people will not have been to the seaside for quite some time, and guests, visitors, daytrippers, later there are restrictions remaining in the year. Maybe we will leave it till then. Talk to you later. About social distancing, but clearly that has changed a little bit this week with the new guidelines. It is just so nice searing seeing and hearing the ocean, isnt it . Naga munchetty we should stress these guidelines, the rnli is even the seagulls are quite this morning. And we look at those images warning us to be careful of coasts, because rescue services have been at the same timejohn repeated, lots restricted, you can see one surfer of words of caution, social there. One piece of advice is, if distancing and the rules that are you are inexperienced, do not go to still apply. It is just a beautiful scene still apply. It is just a beautiful scene there this morning was up thank you, john. Perhaps you fancy the beach to surf. John maguire is on that very beach for us this morning. John, how are you, enjoying running . That fresh air . Im loving it, naga, running is one of the past times which has grown in popularity over the lock down period for obvious reasons. 01 24 51,010 2147483052 19 10,220 now a Charity Wants people to raise 2147483052 19 10,220 4294966103 13 29,430 money by running 5km every friday thank you anime from poldark to worklife to the surfing festivals of newquay, this stretch of the british coastline is absolutely world famous and it will be a real magnet for visitors on what promises to be a sunny weekend. I have known the man who runs visit cornwall azo odd years, but the advice at the moment is, dont travel for more than an hour and is, dont travel for more than an hourand a is, dont travel for more than an hour and a half. For 20 odd years. This is england we are talking about, that is the only part of the uk where the guidance has changed currently. We have seen a few surfers in this morning, but there are real concerns because there are real concerns because there are real concerns because there are no lifeguards on the beaches anywhere around the uk. Good morning, steve, from the rnli. And dominic, who has been serving this morning. What are your main concerns, steve . Obviously, whilst the government have said you can now use the sea for your exercise, were saying, really think carefully about that. On a beach like this at porthtowan, in the summer, we would usually deal with about 100 or 120 rescuers. At the moment, there are no lifeguards. So, if youre coming to the beach you have got to be looking out for your own family group and for those people around you and really stay within your own ability because its a dangerous environment. I suppose you are a little bit at loggerheads with the government guidelines this week, you are concerned about people perhaps going out on their own . Absolutely. The government advice is to exercise by yourself, but for safety reasons, we are saying, dont go in the sea by yourself, go with your family members, with your household group, if you are determined to go. If youre in any doubt at all, dont go. But if you are, keep yourfamily members under close supervision and stay within your abilities all the time. And you have already had an incident this week . Yes, we had a kayaker in incident this week . Yes, we had a kaya ker in trouble incident this week . Yes, we had a kayaker in trouble yesterday, he was very lucky, he was able to call for the coastguard. Generally, there are 2a0 beaches around the uk, we are looking at a much reduced service, probably about 70. But that will not be for some time yet, we have got some time to go before we can establish that lifeguard service. How was it out there this morning . Conditions werent very good, to be honest, you could feel the strong current and you could see that the wind has picked up as well, and you have got the windchill factor, so its pretty cold. With your surf school, normally you would expect to be very busy at this time of year . Yes, especially at weekends. But not at the moment. With the children, i dont normally start any childrens groups until june because dont normally start any childrens groups untiljune because it is too cold for them and you want them to have a good, fun time and leave with a big smile on their face. Thanks to both of you. You need to know what youre doing and build up that confidence, and really this isnt the right time, underthese confidence, and really this isnt the right time, under these current conditions, to do that. So it seems counterintuitive, it seems sad to say it but this is pretty much the best way to enjoy this beach, i would say, via your television. John, we are all a little envious of you this morning seeing the outdoors, and it is good to hear all those words of caution, but it is lovely to see that image this morning. Five year old joseph faced the fight of his life last year after falling ill with a virus that attacked his lungs, but incredibly he came through it after becoming one of the youngest children in the uk to receive a double lung transplant. On tuesday, nine months after he first went into hospital, he was finally reunited with his family at home. Mum fiona and dad gary are with joseph and we can speak to them now. Very good morning to you. Do we get a big wave from the family . Joseph, very good morning to you, hello, everyone. What an extraordinary week this is for you all. Fiona, maybe you could start us off on, what are the emotions like this week now that eve ryo ne the emotions like this week now that everyone is at home . Yeah, its absolutely wonderful to be back at home. Obviously it is a bit different with everything thats going on at the moment, but its really nice to be back in our own beds and joseph has a lot of his toys and trains, so he is very happy toys and trains, so he is very happy to be back. Its really lovely to be back home again. Gary, it is lovely to see the smile on your face there, you as a family have been through a pretty long ordeal, going back nine months or so, and this operation, i mean, this was something that a lot of people said, there were real concerns about weather it was possible . Yeah, thats right. We we nt possible . Yeah, thats right. We went into hospital with a minor chest infection, and they said, give ita week chest infection, and they said, give it a week on antibiotics, it will be cleared up, and then it got worse and worse and worse, and then we got the bad news that he may not come through. And then the surgeons and the consultant and everybody worked their magic, it was a miracle, really, it was brilliant. How did you react, fiona and gary, to the news thatjoseph would need surgery and such pioneering surgery as well . It felt surreal because i know you never think it is going to happen to you, you hear about things, children having transplants, but you never think ina having transplants, but you never think in a million years it is going to happen to you, because unlike gary was saying, he was just a normal, healthy, four year old boy, never had any problems at all with any breathing. We always just thought he would get better. So, it was scary, thought he would get better. So, it was scary, but it was also, you just deal with it as it comes up. So, to find out that he could have the transplant, when we were in quite a dark place, it was a positive light at the end of the tunnel, when he was so at the end of the tunnel, when he was so poorly. Its absolutely lovely seeing joseph so lively with you, keeping your hands full, but gary, you alluded to it, you thanked those who help him, and we can now introduce matthew thomas, a co nsulta nt introduce matthew thomas, a consultant paediatric respiratory physician, and also another surgeon, fabrizo de rita, who worked with joseph. Gentlemen, welcome to you both. To take this surgery on and to have such a positive result, must have such a positive result, must have taken some doing, but you must be so pleased . Yes, youre absolutely right and thank you for having us on, and it is great to hear fiona and gary and joseph so happy and relaxed at home after what has been an immense and difficult journey over the nine months. This was an example where we worked incredibly hard as a team and it was really only possible with national and International Collaboration that we we re and International Collaboration that we were able to get to this point with joseph now at we were able to get to this point withjoseph now at home having been so withjoseph now at home having been so close to death and so critically ill during this process. So it is wonderful to have him at home and for him to be able to get back on with life. Fiona and gary, im not sure if you can see an image of the two gentlemen who helped your family so two gentlemen who helped your family so much, is there anything you would like to say to them directly, because they can hear you . Your, we can see them. Theres no words casuals theyre just absolutely heroes in our eyes, miracle workers, there is nothing we can say or do to thank you both enough. Everyone, the doctors, nurses, the surgeons, eve ryo ne doctors, nurses, the surgeons, everyone has been so fantastic and wonderful with us and joseph, and it is not just a wonderful with us and joseph, and it is notjust a job to them, it is their life, and they care so much about getting the children better. So, thank you. Matthew and fabrizo de rita, it is a delight to see the smiles on yourfaces de rita, it is a delight to see the smiles on your faces this morning as well, because i know the pride you have in what is a wonderful success story. Im sorry we dont have more time to talk to you this morning, but on behalf of the family, you heard it from them directly, it is an amazing thing you did. We wish you all well in the weeks and months ahead. That is all from us today, we will both be back with you tomorrow from six oclock, have a lovely day. This is bbc news with the latest headlines Teachers Unions in england will hold talks with the governments top scientific advisers today demanding assurances that it will be safe to open Primary Schools to more children next month
