Tottenham make it seven Premier League wins in a row to keep up the pressure on table topping chelsea. And from the countryside to the classroom. Well be looking at the lamb cams helping to teach children in inner city schools about life on the farm. And philip avery has the weather. Good morning. Happy easter. That doesnt look bread promising. Already raining in Western Scotland and Northern Ireland but is it heading your way . Ill have all the details shortly. Good morning. First, our main story. An attempt by north korea to launch a test missile has failed, a day after it issued a Nuclear Warning to the us. American officials believe a land based Ballistic Missile exploded within seconds of take off, close to the east coast city of sinpo. The test, which is in violation of un resolutions, came just hours after a massive Military Parade was held in pyongyang as a show of force. Us Vice President mike pence will arrive in the south korean capital this morning for talks on the norths nuclear ambitions. Our correspondent steve evans joins us our correspondent steve evans joins us from the South Korean Capital Seoul. What hopes for this visit from the Vice President of the United States mike pence . Theres been severe condemnation of the launch of the missile, the attempted launch of the missile, the attempted launch from south korea but its a template, we see this every time its launched, and north korea launches a lot of these missiles. The failure it does, it puts that big parade into a kind of perspective, use of those immense iows perspective, use of those immense rows of fierce all fearsome missiles and young yang, being rolled past kim jong un on saturday and on sunday, they do for might have been a routine Missile Launch and the things a damp squib. It puts it into perspective. Mike pence has just landed in south korea, hes going to the National Cemetery this afternoon on sunday and on monday, its proper business, he talks to political leaders. He will emphasise the us and south korea and the us and Japanese Alliance is ironclad, will be the word, i have no doubt he would use. But the bigger question is what to do about north korea. Weve had some extremely belligerent language from washington, but people in this region say, hold on a minute, there are 25 Million People within range of north korea and its artillery, its not quite as simple as that. The unknown element in all of this is president trump. Will he do what his predecessors havent done and say, im going to attack north korea and its Nuclear Facilities even though there is a risk of retaliation. That, we dont know the answers to. Steve, the front pages of the newspapers here this morning are talking about this asa this morning are talking about this as a very serious crisis, actually. How is it being regarded by people going about their normal sunday, in south korea and insult . And in the capital . Its pretty normal, there is this attitude particularly in washington, we are on the brink of but its not how feels here, there isnt panic buying, people are not working how to get out of the city for example. The government isnt getting any additional warnings, the us embassy isnt telling us citizens to get out of town, the us embassy here in the middle of so is conducting Business As Usual. So people in seoul, in south korea, are used to the kind of rhetoric that comes from pyongyang and its absolutely bloodcurdling rhetoric about turning this city and washington into a sea of flames. Having said all that, they are kind of use to it because they assume its not going to happen because if north korea attacked, the retaliation would be devastating and fatal for retaliation would be devastating and fatalfor Kim Retaliation would be devastating and fatal for kim jong un. But, retaliation would be devastating and fatalfor kimjong un. But, they are getting nearer having a Nuclear Warhead capable of being put on a missile. Todays failure indicates they are not there yet but the route is marked out and its a step forward at a time with the odds stumble on the way. Steve evans, thank you. Theresa may has used her first easter message as Prime Minister to say the uk is coming together after the brexit vote. The pm said opportunities would emerge from britains decision to leave the European Union thanks to the countrys shared ambitions and values. Let us come together as a nation, confident in our values and united in our commitment to the obligations that we have towards one another. Let us Work Together to build that Brighter Future that we want for our country. And together, build a stronger, Fairer Britain that truly does work for everyone. The labour Leaderjeremy Corbyn used his easter message to urge people not to standby in the face of societys problems. The leader of the opposition said easter should be a time to reflect on the current challenges, both at home and abroad. It would be easy to retreat into our private lives because of challenges that seem overwhelming, allow ourselves to be divided and blame others. We need to respond to these problems head on, through action and support for social justice, peace and reconciliation. The evacuation of syrian residents from towns under siege has resumed, after dozens were killed in a suicide car bomb yesterday on the outskirts of aleppo. The Attack Hit A Convoy of buses at a check point where thousands of civilians were waiting to be moved to safety. Lets speak now to our middle east correspondent lina sinjab who joins us live from beirut. Any idea as yet as to who was responsible for this blast yesterday . There is no confirmation yet on who is to blame for that, no one has taken responsibility for it but there is a big question on how this boss but was distributing Christopher Chope and managed to get through to the area in the government controlled area. The buses from the four towns moved and especially the ones in the south that are opposition ones, they were scared of retaliation after the car bomb yesterday, theyve managed to arrive in idlib, many of the opposition say these kind of deals that the government likes to call as peace deals, the opposition see it as demographic change, mainly pushed by iran and they fear that in idlib, they would still be under bombardment from the government. Thank you. In the past few hours people in turkey have begun voting in a referendum which could significantly increase the powers of president erdogan. If approved, the role of Prime Minister would be scrapped, and the president argues the changes would provide stability but opponents feared they would lead to a more authoritarian country. More than 5,000 people have been rescued from boats off the libyan coast over the past two days. The italian coastguard says good Spring Weather has led to more migrants attempting the perilous crossing to europe. An italian woman, who was thought to be the oldest person in the world, has died at the age of 117. Emma morano from Northern Italy was the last person verified to have been born in the nineteenth century. Helena lee reports. Here she is celebrating her 117th birthday in november last year surrounded by family and friends at her home in Northern Italy. Asked how she felt on reaching ii7, she said she felt well. Born in 1899, emma moranos life spanned three centuries. The eldest of three children, she outlived all of her younger siblings. She survived an abusive marriage, the loss of her only son, two world wars, and more than 90 italian governments. And she worked in a factory until she was 65. So, what was her secret . Emma morano thought it was probably her diet. Translation i eat two eggs a day, and thats it. I ate cookies. I dont eat much because i have no teeth. Always eating the same things, always at the same time of day. Her doctor of 27 years thought there were other reasons too for her long life. Translation the first factor is genetics. It is her own condition, a natural phenomenon, as it happens around the world. Her personality would be fundamental as well. The mayor of the small city in Northern Italy where she lived said she had an extraordinary life, and she will always be remembered for her strength to move forward. Helena lee, bbc news. A remarkable woman and when she talked about two eggs a day she wasnt talking about easter eggs. If you have been off chocolate, people tend to give up diets by easter sunday. Give up your diet for lent . You give it up and then your back on it today. Just a warning if youre on a diet over easter, this next story could knock you off track. A Thomas The Tank Engine train made entirely of chocolate has arrived at its destination of Kings Cross Station in london to mark the easter weekend. The locomotive is made of more than 100 kilograms of white, dark and milk Belgian Chocolate and stands over six feet tall. Lets hope the weather stays nice and cool and thomas doesnt start to sag a bed. You are watching brea kfast, sag a bed. You are watching breakfast, lets return to the top story. Within the past few minutes, the us Vice President mike pence has arrived in south korea. The visit comes just hours after pyongang tried but failed to launch a missile. Our Correspondentjohn Sudworth is there, his movements are being tightly controlled but he sent this report. Its almost certain that the missile test is sent and meant as a deterrent, it came just a few hours before the visit to the South Korean Capital Seoul either us Vice President mike pence. And its a day after north korea held a massive Military Parade, a show of strength typical of this most totalitarian states and at which it am failed what are believed to be its first intercontinental missiles. Its worth noting that in many regards this is Business As Usual for north korea. It has long used brinkmanship and tension to up the ante and then when the dramatic and economic concessions as it steps back from the brink. But with each cycle, moving one step closer towards its goal of becoming a fully fledged nuclear power. Whats new in all of this is not whats happening in this capital but in washington, of course, but it seems north koreas actions suggest is confident that President Donald Trump will like his predecessors before him, eventually conclude that the cost of Military Action is simply too great. John sudworth, bbc news, pyongyang. Lets talk more about this but scott lucas, an International Politics professor at birmingham university. Thanks for talking to us. Lets pick up thanks for talking to us. Lets pick up on the point that was made, donald trump might conclude like president obama and those before him that Military Intervention is too big a risk to take, do you think thats the case . Im not sure if donald trump himself as including that but those driving the us response, the pentagon, the National Security council, even mike pence probably have concluded that, i think throughout the sort of crisis over the last week, this was where we we re over the last week, this was where we were going to wind up and that is north korea burgoyne to posture as they have done this weekend but in fa ct, they have done this weekend but in fact, they did not carry out a nuclear test, the chinese would intervene, say Everyone Needs to calm down and the us would move towards diplomacy,. Is this any pa rt towards diplomacy,. Is this any part of strategy or as donald trump not a man for strategy . Hes not a man first oddity, hes a man for twitter but his agencies, those around him, are there to think through for they go with the next steps, at least the immediate next steps. A man for twitter. He sent the carriers out as a show of force, north korea beat its chest as we would have expected but neither side is going to push the button, the us attacked, north korea would strike back at south korea with Artillery Ama back at south korea with artillery am a long range missiles, they could attacked japan, if north korea was to be as foolish as to Longevity Thing at anyone in the region that regime would be gone, theres no way they could withstand the response. You mention, its the people around donald trump, the organisations, the cia, the defence department, whoever, i be Strong Enough to control donald trump if he is as impetuous as perhaps some people think he is . I think so. We have this idea of the president with the nuclear red button, that can strike at any nuclear red button, that can strike atany minute, nuclear red button, that can strike at any minute, there is many layers in american Bureaucracy Sisley to check someone who can be impetuous and if you look, theres two key people, both generals, both military men, james matos, the head of the pentagon, hr mcmaster head of interNational Security council, they will have gone through all the options and reviewed this carefully and there would have been very, very intense discussions quietly with the chinese about how to de escalated this. We were talking earlier about having our goal to sir mark and rifkind, former Foreign Secretary and he alluded in one of his answers to the 196263, cu ban and he alluded in one of his answers to the 196263, cuban missile crisis, is the similar . No, 6263 was extremely dangerous, we were on the verge of nuclear war but remember, the aftermath of that, to prevent that from occurring again, we had major changes in terms of developing the nuclear hotline, Redeveloping American Procedures in terms of how you escalate, we have been down this road with north korea for several yea rs, road with north korea for several years, this is not to do with donald trump, it happened under the george bush administration. We were here a year ago with the obama minute administration when north korea made threatening noises, but obama was more level headed and easily contained that. I think the danger is the more we talk up this is the possibility of doomsday the more we feed into the possibility of an irrational leaders seizing upon that to put up his population. A final point if i may, a president who came to power talking about america first, everyone thought he was going to be more inward looking, weve since seen strikes in syria, the islamic state, the situation was north korea. As donald trump defying expectations are wealthy ultimately turnround and start to look more domestic . Peter not his choices, the decision to escalate Military Strikes on afghanistan with the biggest bomb, Non Nuclear Bomb ever, but as the pentagon who are being aggressors in some areas while containing in others. I think donald trump will posture as he always does, the factors as administration is really on the defensive and sooner or later they will have to turn to the economy and tax cuts and try to take the pressure off foreign policy. Thank you for your time, we are referring grateful. Professor scott lucas. Lets look at the weather. The main message of the day is with will be cloudierfor the main message of the day is with will be cloudier for many of us, some rain in the forecast, it comes in the form of a stream of cloud piling in around the top area of High Pressure added the atlantic. A set of Weather Fronts, cloud, rain, already over Northern Ireland, and soon to work its way into the north west of england. Stretching into the midlands. Not everyone gets to see it. Round about lunchtime, if you have plans, the far north of scotla nd you have plans, the far north of scotland is bright but on the cool side, a scattering of showers, the rain in the central belt but not much of it. Gets out of Northern Ireland, its heaviest on the western slopes of the pennines, the top end of wales, the north west and the midlands, underneath the cloud and rain, a maximum of10 degrees, not much in the way of rain for south wales. You have to wait some time but the eastern side of the pennines, east anglia will see rain, flirting with the london area, not much forming in the south east but we could do with some. All of that pushed by a coolish west to north west breeze, we crank that around towards more of a northerly into easter monday, that begins to suck the cold air away from the Northern Isles pushing it down across the british isles. During the course of the day, easter monday, if you have plans, that wont get in the way too much, a mixture of sunny spells and showers, the best of the brightness and northern scotland, Cold Air Beginning to see betway towards the central will later in the day, behind that Weather Front. That completes its journey within the next 24 36 hours, Monday Night Frost is there across scotland, even further south, look about, roundabout zero, 1 and that is the message for this week. Certainly the first half. I pressure and sunny spells by day but underneath clear spells, watch out for false, if youve been tempted to the Garden Centres thank you. If you have been tempted to go out and buy some plans and then they are hit by frost. Celebrities including andy murray and Deborah Meaden have signed a letter, urging the Prime Minister not to water down legislation on Climate Change, to secure Post Brexit Trade deals. Published in the mail on sunday, its also been signed by 11 Environmental Charities including the World Wildlife fund. We can speak now to their head of climate and energy, Gerard Redmond king. Good morning. Good morning. Why are you so concerned that the environment, animal welfare, might be at the bottom of the agenda of the net comes to Post Brexit Trade deals. We are deeply concerned about this not just deals. We are deeply concerned about this notjust the behalf of the millions of people, supporters and members who the organisations have signed the letter represent but on behalf of the majority of people in the uk. Two thirds of british people are concerned about Climate Change and when you ask what it is that people are most worried about in relation to Climate Change, 80 of them say its the wildlife and nature and the uk has been a leader in tackling Climate Change, in fighting the illegal Wildlife Trade. We really dont believe there is any need for the uk government to be throwing those commitments away now in the interests of trade. But we also dont think thats what the british people want. We have this brought up recently after a representative of the foreign and Commonwealth Office came out and said trade and growth are priorities for all posts, some Economic Security related work like Climate Change and illegal Wildlife Trade will be scaled down. But can you see the sense of some of this, post brexit, the uks all Economic Security is absolutely the most important thing, once we have the trade deals in place, then you can exert influence in other areas as well . Theres actually no reason to suppose that our Economic Security is compromised by these commitments. Some of the countries that we want to do trade deals with, their leaders on this as well, china is a leaders on this as well, china is a leader on tackling Climate Change, its Investing Hundreds of billions of dollars in renewable and there also a leader in tackling illegal Wildlife Trade, in the process this year of implementing a whole set ban on ivory. There is no good reason why we shouldnt continue to lead on these issues, lots of the countries in africa that we might want to do deals with, they can and they tackled the illegal Wildlife Trade seriously, its in the interest of the tourism, and the reason its important as we are losing elephants in africa at the rate of one every 25 minutes. Some people would say the uk has held its nose for a long time in order to secure profitable trade deals, particularly in regards to human rights abuses, in relation to human rights abuses, in relation to saudi arabia for example. That may be true, but weve done that at a time when weve also established incredibly strong protections for nature and wildlife where weve been a leader in tackling Climate Change. And where we have stood up and brought other countries together to tackle the legal Wildlife Trade. 0k, many thanks. The Foreign Office says its working closely with the department for International Trade to open up opportunities for business abroad. And it was Gareth Redmond king. Its a 20 4am. You are watching breakfast. Time for a look at the papers. Broadcasterjanice long is here. Janice, what have you noticed on the insides . Easter is not a happy time for children. Children between the ages of ten and 15, you presume they are looking forward to School Holidays but they are not looking forward to it, easter is the worst, possibly to do with the fact that after easter at you have exams, havent you . But they really dont enjoy easter, its they really dont enjoy easter, its the worst, on a scale of one to seven that got seven. Its because they dont like being cooped up and they dont like being cooped up and they are suddenly, they like the routine, they dont necessarily want to go on holiday, of course not eve ryo ne to go on holiday, of course not everyone can but even if they do, they are still missing their friends and they are missing that routine and they are missing that routine and they are missing that routine and they feel particularly during the easter holidays, they are cooped up the easter holidays, they are cooped up at home, in front of the Computer Screen probably revising, but it doesnt lead to a happy time for them. They dont like School Holidays generally. Research from the University Of Essex but i think youre right, for those of an exam age, lots of schools do tests. I am surprised they are saying this is true of ten year olds. Am surprised they are saying this is true of tenyearolds. But they do, im not saying its really important ones but we will be going back to something. I also think that in some cases, if parents are working but can take time to work, you will get thrown back in together and drive each other mad. They also said the government should look at providing activities for people, sometimes in certain places the transport isnt as good during. And Holiday Camps are expensive. So expensive. Inside the mirror this morning, fly tipping. The mirror this morning, flytipping. Makes my blood boil. We return to this many times and they are trying to sort it out, introducing tougher punishments for fly tipping. Just to be clear, thats not a body, its a dummy. And fly tippers, to avoid the crackdown, on dry land, they are going to reverse and canals and they are saying to report these people but look at reverse and canals, they can be pretty remote. No one can see whats going on in the middle of the night. Look at an average log, 150 plastic bags, 77 glass and plastic bottles, bikes, tyres, Shopping Trolleys of course. And traffic cones. So depressing. The toxins being released from this, destroying wildlife and i think its a hideous thing to do, take it to the dump its depressing. The big supermarkets have tried with those things. You cant get them out lets look inside the times newspaper, this kind of plays into what you are talking about with children being at home over the easter holidays, maybe with parents, maybe not. A leading Parenting Guru Warning two parent families working ha rd to warning two parent families working hard to do what they can or leading to Mental Health problems and teenage girls. Stephen biddle, a psychologist, saying parents who have this quest for success and pushed out onto their daughters, its daughters in this case, these kids are not happy, they dont like the pressure, the material success, youve got to be this, you got to have that, youve got to go here and do this. They are turning to self harm, they are having real mental problems. And a report out, coming out this week, says we lag behind when it comes to, like the big nations, top nations, but we lag behind in well being. For young girls. We knew about the potential connection between Prince Charles and glad the paler. The prince of transylvania. But now they want to officially honour him. He is grandson 16 times removed from Fla Bby Grandson 16 times removed from flabby and paler and he has a holiday home and the mayor has said he can be prince of transylvania, it would look really good, Prince Charles, prince of transylvania there is a cartoon, no garlic for me, camilla he is honoured as king of ten pack two. We were talking earlier about the things that builders had found hidden away, tying it into lambeth palace, they found remains of some old archbishops. It says my Mother In Law moved six years ago, boulders found a cavity in the loft, a loaded World War I Gun Was and is, she lived there since 1968. Richards says they found biking tunnels underneath a house in dundalk in ireland, its amazing. And carol found wallpaper on the wall, talking about dig turpin when she renovated her house in enfield. Incredible. People measure their kids. Janice, thank you. Thank you. Coming up in the next half hour. Could these lambs be the Internet Stars of the future . Well be finding out how theyre helping to bring the countryside into the classroom. Stay with us, we have all the headlines coming up next. Hello, this is breakfast with Rachel Burden and rogerjohnson. Coming up before nine philip will have the weather. But first, a summary of this mornings main news. An attempt by north korea to launch a test missile has failed, a day after it issued a Nuclear Warning to the us. American officials believe it exploded within seconds of take off. Within the past hour, the us Vice President mike pence has arrived in south korea for talks on the norths nuclear ambitions. The failed missile test came just hours after a massive Military Parade was held in pyongyang as a show of force. Within the past hour we spoke to the former conservative Foreign Secretary sir malcom rifkind, who suggested it was possible the launch was sabotaged by a cyber attack. Well, the first question is why did it fail . It could have fell because the system is not competent enough to make it work, but there is a strong belief that the americans through cyber methods have been successful on several occasions to be able to interrupt these tests and make them fail which is encouraging from the point of the white house. The people of turkey have begun voting in a referendum that could see sweeping new powers given to president erdogan. If approved, the role of Prime Minister would be scrapped. Our turkey correspondent selin girit is in istanbulfor us this morning. Selin, this vote has the potential to bring changes, doesnt it . He will become a powerful Father Figure in turkey if the proposed constitutional changes go through. He will be able to appoint all the ministers in the cabinet, top judges, prepare the budget, proposed a budget, and he will be able to dismiss parliament. The opposition says this risks without checks and bala nces says this risks without checks and balances in place, this risks the country falling into authoritarianism, but turkey needs stability. The country has been to a difficult phase in the last few yea rs. Difficult phase in the last few years. In the last three years this is the fist time turkish people are going to the polls. Today they feel turkey is at a significant and historic moment. This is a crossroads and they feel very emotional as they vote today in deciding which way the country will go. Thank you very much. My taking exams, but thats not true. My daughter is taking her slats. Sats. Right, harry kane. The playing well. Indeed. It could be an absolute cracker today. Or maybe a damp squib. It will be very entertaining indeed. Hello, good morning. Tottenham have moved to within four points of the top of the Premier League after a comfortable victory over bournemouth. Manchester city are up to third and after being involved in controversy off the field, ross barkley helped everton move into the european places. Adam wild has the details. So much of sport is about belief. And on this kind of form, you might believe that the spurs were capable of almost anything. A fantastic period in our club, a fantastic moment. The belief in the way that we play is fantastic. Now wejust wait, make sure it is done. The points are important for us. Well, that dream is to catch chelsea at the top. A 4 0 win against bournemouth reducing the gap to four points. Chelsea should be concerned because time are coming for you. Behind them, Manchester City have now reached a third. The captain is back from injury and inspiring them to a 3 0 win at southampton. At the other end of the table, any end remaining belief is beginning to fade. Sunderland managed a draw against west ham. In truth, they probably needed more. Swansea, they certainly did, defeated by this goal they remain in some trouble as do hull city. They lost 3 1 at stoke thanks to a very special goal. 0h, brilliant what an outstanding goal Crystal Palace improved their hopes of survival, coming back from 2 0 down to draw a against leicester. And after a troubled week for barkly, he managed to focus his mind back onto football matters. His deflected shot helping everton two or 3 1 win against burnley. They now go above Manchester United who play chelsea this afternoon. So today sees liverpool take on west brom, and then chelsea will try and move seven points clear at the top of the table against Manchester United. They are a good team, strong physically and technically and for this reason we must pay them good attention because united also want to play to find a place for the next Champions League and to arrive in the best form on the table. And they have the possibility to do this. They have a certain style of play, they stick to it, they do it very well, they do it very well. Not every team defence with 11 players, they defend with 11 players and not every team is so objective in their counter attacks. They are very objective in their counter attacks. And they have individual players out of the context of the game who can also resolve problems. So they are very strong team. In the scottish premiership, champions celtic face ross county this lunchtime. Meanwhile, dundees problems are escalating. They lost for the seventh match in a row. It is probably the kind of thing that might work for others. Chester zoo is good at getting the public attention. We work hard to get our message across. It is good for connecting people with what is going on, so connecting people with what is going on, so i applaud it. Its fantastic to get this much interest in g i raffes. To get this much interest in giraffes. Everyone knows that Baby Giraffes. Everyone knows that Baby Giraffes get up and walk almost straightaway. What is the processing of this newborn . All being good, it was up within minutes, and they have to be in the world or they risk getting eaten. Within the first 2a hours they had to start suckling. I understand the baby giraffe is doing that. Fingers crossed that it is mother and baby. Thats how we do things at chester. The animals are left, although they are monitored. We saw pictures a moment ago of your new arrival. You have another one on the way. It would seem that giraffes are thriving in the Zoo Population . Yes. We really fortunate. We had a on boxing day. But on the 3rd of april and another one is due in the next two weeks. They are carefully planned. We are working with rothschilds, the very rare species. In captivity they are thriving, but in the world it is a different story for giraffes. Just address the issue of conservation. Some people will stay that zoos arent the place for animals and they should be in the wild were possible, so why do you need to Breed Giraffes in zoos, for example . Thats a good question. For all species we are working with, its the journey. There are less than 100,000 giraffes in the wild. Some particular types of very rare. Our Conservation Breeding Programme is about options for the future. Our staff also work in south africa to try to save giraffes in the world. But clearly having a programme of conservation helps. Thank you for taking the time to talk to us. Beautiful pictures of that Mother Giraffes and her baby. That is a beautiful sunrise. Where is that from . It was sent in by one of our weather watchers. Yesterday was a decent day of most, but we have already seen some rain thanks to the Weather Front crossing from Northern Ireland. It will head further east during the course of the day. It wont be any bother for the north of scotland. The rain will eventually clear from the central belt. It is a real change. A decent saturday that many of these areas, but it will put a dent in the temperatures. Not much in the way of rain across the south west. Through the night, the wind turning around towards the north. Quite a cold night across the north with some frost. Further south, no great signs of frost, but with the wind cranking around to the north, it is wanting to tap into cold air across the orkney and shetland islands. That will drag its way further down. There could be wintry showers across low levels. Elsewhere for the holiday period it looks like a mixture of sunny spells and showers. There is no real change in the feel of the days across the south, but temperatures will fall away. Hard frost across scotland on monday night. If you have done any planting, there will be a couple of frosty nights, but with High Pressure taking charge, there will be some dry weather if you are off over the next couple of days. Thousands of children across the uk only have limited access to the countryside. Our reporter has been to take a look at what one farm is doing. Its a typical spring day on this farm in kent but its notjust the farmer keeping a close eye on the animals. These are the stars of lamb cam. Streamed live online straight from the farm and into the classroom. Who can tell me what the job of a sheepdog is. These children in east london have been closely monitoring this lambing shed for the past two weeks and even witnessing some live births. Its really exciting because we dont go to farms that much. The lambs are quite slimy because the lambsjust came out of the ewe. Had you seen anything like that before . No. When were in the classroom watching it on the screen, you dont need to smell all the dung. For thousands of children across the us, access to the countryside is limited so schools are having to come up with alternative ways of educating pupils about rural living. It is a great chance to see what they do in the farm. Ask questions about the farmers, what are they doing . Why are they doing that . Its given the children an opportunity to find out a little bit more. Lucky for us, we have had a roof garden that was built quite recently so we have two raised beds at its given the children an opportunity to plant the seeds and nurture the plants ready to eat. Lamb cam is the brainchild of the Country Trust, a charity that helps bring working countryside to disadvantaged schoolchildren all year round. We take about 18,000 children every year out of the city, into the countryside and onto real working farms but we know that thats just scratching the surface so we thought the Country Trust webcam would be a way to bring farms to thousands more children and giving them a window into the life of the real working farm and making a connection with the farmers who work so hard to produce food for us and be able to share experiences that they wouldnt see in theirdaily life. Some children would have seen a lamb being born which is a really wonderful thing. Soon the Lambing Season will be drawing to a close but that wont mean the end of lamb cam. Instead it will be moved to a new location in the cow shed and the children will still be watching. From Bunny Bunting to egg speckled wreaths could the easter bunny be rivalling santa claus when it comes to our spending . It seems cracks are developing in the popularity of the humble easter egg as retailers choose to stock increasing extravagant gifts and decorations. Are we feeling the pressure to impress . Anita hunt has sent in her tree and says, i always have an easter tree. Love a celebration. And this is lynne drewerys tree. I think that is the Christmas Tree that has been adapted. Like it. And joining us from london is Isabelle Szmigin pron joining us now is anna macgowan, who has blogged about this trend recently, saying she feels pressured into doing more at easter. And joining us from london is Isabelle Szmigin professor of marketing at the university of birmingham. What do you think of this . Is it a Marketing Dream . What do you think of this . Is it a Marketing Dream . It is important for retailers to find opportunities to market to consumers, but at the same time you have to have people who wa nt to time you have to have people who want to engage with it. Its another development of tradition. Lots of the traditions around is that things that have developed over the centuries and if people want to decorate their homes and make things a bit colourful after a rather dreary winter, there is nothing fundamentally wrong with it. The days are longer, people are feeling springlike, i think it is all part of that, and retailers and manufacturers have engage with it. It brightens up our day. What is your problem with it . No it has just been christmas. If it makes your heart seemed to come down on easter morning to a bowl of decorative eggs in the middle of the kitchen table, then you do that. If you want to make a tree and cover it in eggs, do that as well, but what dont want you to do is take a picture of it and put it on facebook which is what is driving a lot of this. So it is people showing off . Showing off. People with enough money and creative flair and. They wa nt money and creative flair and. They want to show us the easterhouse, but i dont want to see it. I dont do because i have no creative flair. That is not why you dont do it. It is because im miserable. When i was younger, easter at school, you learnt all about jesus being crucified, the resurrection. Have we not lost track of that . Are we not in danger of losing sight of what easter is about . We have to engage with the religious significance. Decorated eggs were part of celebrating the resurrection. The declaration of the easter eggs, that was back in the time when eggs were forbidden at lent. They decorated them at easter time to celebrate the end of lent. A lot of these things are engaged with the religious significance of easter. Most children are taught about easter and what it means, but there isnt anything wrong in celebrating the Fa Ct Anything Wrong in celebrating the fact that were getting together very often as families, were enjoying good food if we can afford it and saw one. I think that is all pa rt it and saw one. I think that is all part of something that reflects the religious tradition as well. Are we predating christianity . The christian message is important, but people will point out that this has its roots in pre christian times, pagan festivals of rebirth. This time of year when we need a little bit of colour and light in our lives, its not a bad thing . Its a beautiful thing and thats what its about, springtime. Go and get some daffodils, but dont pick them from your local park. Its not allowed gets in bluebells. The egg thing is important. Nothing like syncing your teeth into a chocolate egg. But we have lost the fight with christmas because that religious festival has turned into something else. We can nip this in the bud now. No Easter Stockings no thank you both your time. Happy easter to you. Thats it from us today. Roger will be back tomorrow morning with sian from six oclock. Have a lovely easter weekend. Goodbye. This is bbc news. The headlines at 9am.
