Were heard in a number of towns and cities, while slogans have been sprayed in public spaces. Confronted by supporters of the regime for refusing to wear a headscarf in public. This iranian woman remains defiant, despite her picture being taken and being threatened with legal action. Scenes from the streets of karaj a city near irans capital. Its a rebellious act, unthinkable before last years uprising. The unrest was sparked by the death of mahsa amini in custody. The 22 year old was arrested by the Morality Police, accused of not adhering to the strict dress code rules. Chanting her death sparked nationwide protests, which continued for months, with women taking a leading role. One year on, The Mass Street Protests may have died down, but the determination of many iranians to push for Regime Change is unwavering. Mariam took part in the demonstrations since the first day. She says last years events have already brought about fundamental changes to society. I think its like something that has been broken. It cant be the same. People are angry. People are tired. There is no hope forfuture and every family has someone in prison or someone has been killed. So it cant be life like before. Many women no longer adhere to the strict dress code, even some who grew up in religious families. Translation the authorities used a hijab as a pretext to shed the blood of many innocent people. It made me very upset at that point. I made a decision to remove my hijab. But the regime is hitting back. A new draft law unveiled by parliament brings in much harsher punishments for women and girls who fail to wear the hijab. Screaming the Morality Police that had largely retreated immediately after the death of mahsa amini are now back on the streets, arresting women they decide are violating the hijab rules. Also, women often face abuse and angerfrom more conservative iranians. This cctv footage that went viral on social media shows a man throwing a tub of yoghurt over the heads of two female customers, who were not wearing the headscarf. But those like mariam, who continue to publicly disobey the law, hope for a free society for everyone in the future. If this regime is completely overthrown from its roots, it can happen that women live together in peace, no matter what they believe. I hope someday can be that day in our country. Baran abassi, bbc news. Live now to bbc persian sjiyar gol, who is outside the Iranian Embassy in london. We can see if you people on the road behind you. Today from noon to hundreds of people gathered in front of the Iranian Embassy carrying pictures of the victims and activists who are present at this point in time, to commemorate the death of mahsa amini. People here were chanting and demanding the British Government designate Iranian Revolutionary guard as a Terrorist Organisation because they believe that his Iranian Revolutionary guard who is behind mass killings and arrests of those protesting last year. Many people left the Iranian Embassy, moved towards Downing Street a a a few minutes ago. The iranian diaspora are free to make their feelings known, the iranian diaspora are free to make theirfeelings known, what the iranian diaspora are free to make their feelings known, what role do they play with regard to events inside the country . I am in contact with many people inside the country at this moment. Many people feel they are encouraged if they see the iranian diaspora unite together and support their cause and lobby western governments to put more pressure on the iranian government to loosen up, to free those people. I was in contact with somebody inside the city, a kurdish city, they said the city looks like a military zone, so many armoured vehicles, officers covering their face with weapons. Many people are afraid to even leave their house. Many shopkeepers in the kurdish region in west and north west of iran shut down their shops and refused to open their stores. As the government is changing its position, is it softening in its approach to these events and also in the way its police as a society . No, not at all. We havent seen any sign, if wejudge by no, not at all. We havent seen any sign, if we judge by the no, not at all. We havent seen any sign, if wejudge by the movement no, not at all. We havent seen any sign, if we judge by the movement of troops and police and Revolutionary Guards and malicious, they want to show their power and say they are in charge. Many people want to loosen up, be free to go to the street to express their opinion. I talked to some people recently who left iran and they have managed to get to the uk, they were talking about people as young as 16, i7, saying the only thing they want, they want to be free and to live a dignified life. Thank you. The authorities in Eastern Libya are sealing off the stricken city of derna to enable rescue teams to get in more easily following the devastating flash floods. They said the area would be closed off to civilians and that only libyan and International Rescue teams would have access. Theres been calls for the complete evacuation of survivors from derna. Although Rescue Efforts have been scaled up, the Aid Operation so far has been described as chaotic. Anna foster sent us this from the port of derna a short while ago. This is what remains of the waterfront area, here in derna. You can see what a mess it is. You can also really see the power of that water that cascaded through the city. It has broken up sea defences and tossed them around. There are cars smashed and dropped on top. Theres a whole mixture of floating broken wood, household appliances, tyres, its all bobbing in the stagnant water. There is a really rich and distinctive smell of decay and death hanging in the air, particularly in this area. Just this morning, i was talking to a turkish rescue team, because all the time, there are Recovery Workers patrolling up and down the water area here. When bodies wash back in, which they are still doing all the time, they retrieve them and try and give them some kind of dignity. The turkish team told me just over here this morning, they recovered three bodies from in among the debris and dirt and took them away. They say, even now almost a week after this happened, bodies are still washing up here at the port in derna. Luke henderson is one of the campaigners with edinburgh climate coalition, who helped organise the march. We asked him why he thinks events like today do make a difference. Well, if we dont fight, we cant win. Its a starting point, really, i think. And it does. I mean, i speak to a parliamentary researcher and i speak to mps all the time and they say, you know, they want to do some good things, but unless theres a power protest, unless ordinary people show that we want change, actually, where is that momentum . Wheres that push . But theres a lot of very set interests not wanting to change. I really point to the oil and gas companies. They show no ability to change. Its up to ordinary people to say, we want to really see a change. We can see it in the news every single news bulletin. Theres another climate related crisis happening around the world. Its us who have responsibility to really push for the change. And todays march is very much part of that. You know, weve got thousands of people. You cant really see them because ive had to come away because its so noisy. Weve got thousands of people here in edinburgh, people who are determined they want to make their voices heard. More matches at Rugby World Cup, somewhat make their first appearance, they are against chile in pool d. Wales and ireland are in action later, wales taking on portugal, also Making Theirfirst appearance in france. Our correspondent is they are ahead of that match. Welcome to the stadium, still if you hour to go until kick off. The first wales fans are really starting to arrive. Of course they hope their team will make it two victories out of two in this world cup as they face portugal. On paper they should have a good chance of doing that because portugal have never won a match at a Rugby World Cup, in fact the only time these two teams have met in the past, back in 1994, wales won by 102 11, to history on waless side. They should be feeling confident after that impressive victory against fiji last weekend, it was such a physical encounter, in fact, wales made more than 250 tackles in the course of that match, a new Rugby World Cup record. It was a new Rugby World Cup record. It was a physical encounter, to say the least. Not surprising that wales have made 13 changes to the team that beat fiji. A an entirely new side, but they will be confident of getting another victory here against portugal. Later on, another big day for ireland, as they face tonga. Ireland art world number one, they got off to a great start last week, they put more than 80 points past romania, but tonga should be a tougher proposition, particularly because they have been helped by a recent rule change which means they can now select some former new zealand players who have tongan heritage, even so ireland should be too strong for them. It could be an historic day for their captain, johnny sexton, who has the chance to become irelandss all time record points scorer, he isjust nine points scorer, he isjust nine points behind the current record. It should be a tough test for ireland, but they also will be confident of making it two victories out of two. Moments left in the early game in the premier league, liverpool are beating wolves 2 1. But if you comply with these actions, and that means we will know where these dogs are, which will be a massive benefit, then, yes, absolutely, you will be able to keep your dog. The xl bully is the largest type of the american bully dog and can weigh more than nine stone. However, it is not recognised by the main british dog associations, such as the royal kennel club. It would be the first dog added to a list set out in the dangerous dogs act, 32 years ago. Taking your driving test is a nerve wracking experience but for the last couple of years in the uk, just booking the test has been difficult and stressful, with very long waiting lists. The average wait is 20 weeks, with authorities saying thats because of increased demand, Industrial Action on Civil Service pay, and a change in Customer Behaviour because of concerns about not being able to book a test. Stay with us here on bbc news. Hello. Weve got some quite large contrasts in our weather today, especially the temperature from the warm and humid conditions across the south east of england. Theres something a lot fresher in scotland and northern ireland. So lets have a look at the forecast for the rest of the day. And as we head into the evening hours, theres a Weather Front here, slicing the uk more or less in half. To the north, that cooler air mass at 6 pm its about 14 in aberdeen, about the same in glasgow in belfast. Heres the Weather Front. The cloudier conditions across the lakes. Its been quite wet here recently and the showers in place, close to the Weather Front across wales in the south west, but london still 25 at 6pm. Quite humid here. You can see that colour difference there, that Temperature Gradient along this Weather Front. So the Weather Front still with us through the course of the night. In fact, its going to turn quite cold in the north, particularly eastern parts of scotland. Certainly A Touch Of Frost on the way to the south of the Weather Front. It remains warm and humid, perhaps no lower than around 15 or 16 degrees in some spots. Heres the forecast for sunday. Lightning symbol, so certainly a storm chance there across some southwestern and western parts of the uk. The Storms Will Drift Northwards and a little bit further towards the east through the course of the day. So, yes, plenty of bright weather around, but for some of us, a wild spell at some point during the day with these thunderstorms rumbling through. And then you can see this is the forecast through the evening tomorrow moving through wales, parts of the midlands. But showers and thunderstorms could break out almost anywhere on sunday. And then early next week, we are going to all this coming. Were going to see a transition to something a lot fresher, these orange colors moving towards the east. Thats that warm air mass, multiple Weather Fronts sweeping off the atlantic. Heres one Weather Front crossing the uk during the course of monday. Its a cold front, blustery for a time with heavy showers and then behind it linked to this area of low pressure here, that fresher air sweeping in. So were still kind of holding on to the low 20s across the southeast, but its only 15 in belfast. And now look at this outlook pretty much every day theres a chance of at least some rain and those temperatures are certainly easing as well. So autumn is knocking on the door. Bye bye.
