The country overnight lows for most of between 3 and 7 degrees Celsius B.B.C. News It's 3 minutes past 9 in. The culture with so you David how did that happen we've made it to the final hour they're going to with 3 today because the club wants a culture right here in our county because even John's lovely lovely it's such a lovely guy that great to have him on. And we're still don't like to come we're going to hear from our book club of course who's had a regular book club from around the county hasn't caught a post on it's the federal sequence it was one of our favorites because it's a teammate reading great and chip in a really a no holds barred up to exactly what I feel about a book always interesting books I've been reading so that's on the way. In about stuff in 20 minutes time I had a chat with me should Paris which is a show on stage at the moment at the theatre will involve a good tough fade the musical by putting on this week. So she talks about dance. Talks about sort of finding fame with a young lady was 19 when her view almost came out I think about platinum and she moved to America only going to stop. She worked with Prince. In the Michael Jackson quite well it's an amazing story and one of the amazing bits is she does reveal there is someone famous that she's related to but she didn't know this until really killer later on in the last month so I will reveal all that on the line plus of course would be the best as well as the culture B.B.C. It's the Culture Club and some of the Tinoco. Held in the that we play is simply the best they know and I ask you to come up with a corrector of a movie or maybe a song or a book or T.V. Series The something to do with the topic we give you and someone still big. Ships that kind of thing basically So what would be some what. Movie go over about a. Song So let's stop and ships boating was a member if you got one show with us because the song we will endeavor to play for the end of the show. And we will randomly select our favorites in each of the categories I doubt to do all 4 categories whatever kind of works for you is fine by us our wills 7 been in touch what about when the boat comes in who should have the fish on the condition I thinking possibly. Andrew said what about the movie The Boat That Rocked. Great film and also who's going to win as well of Jena also thinking of that pirate radio station when they were indeed on a boat will that be our favorite film about the boat. Well you can convince of course. Physicals for nothing getting in touch did love a bit of Jim Murray's the ripple it always makes me I must catch again I think it was a beautiful rendition. There are too many feels right now Voyager I forgot about that that was. Was a poor Hi Marie instead of Bette Davis the anybody remembers when they shared a cigarette. Different times Gentlemen Prefer Blondes or the one about one that any other. Video where this is a space ship. Now I have to be the choice of someone of your heart because it's just words Cary Grant impression after all and a fun a lot of cool. Nobody's perfect. Jeff and Jeff and I'm also going to sailing by Rod Stewart What would be your choice and so the the topic is sailing boat that kind of thing you don't do all 4 of our auto pieces do so one of them what you reckon is the best ever move a that's featured a boat or a ship the soul the how. A bit of a site in connection with all of that maybe a book maybe a T.V. Series while we don't mind just get in touch Let's see if you buy maybe you'll sell choice of for the end of the show 080028 double 3 double 6 that's a give us a cool have a go simply the best that's a 1000 to 8 double 3 double 6 you can tweet us at B.B.C. We'll do it that way Oh get texting one triple 3 to text. You saw me the connection to buzz 81 triple 3 just start the text with the word will show. Them. Oh boy listening all the way. Gangsta's Paradise quarter past 9 Thursday night then on B.B.C. . Now it's time for all book group and if you've got a teenager in your life how about encouraging him to pick up a book enjoy a bit of reading that's what the thrill seekers group does and we'd love to catch up with them on the Culture Club authors in on. The book which is up at the library just for teenagers it's run by Tracy. For this week was a bit of a book this time around yeah yeah we read the Everest files but not to can say and they were all over the place the lowest score was point 5 and the highest was 5 out of 5 that's how we do it and usually you know there are lots in the middle and a few extremists but this was evenly balanced throughout every single score so they were all over although I think they all agree that it could have been a brilliant book had the author made a few different decisions that getting quite sophisticated readers I'm loving the fact that they want to make some amendments to the author's work. Is about that the Everest to consider basically not to consider in way to Everest himself and so I believe that Ryan is probably quite loosely based on him Ryan is the main character he is on a gap year and he's going out to volunteer to help get medicine out to remote communities and lots of things go wrong his gap partner gets really isn't able to go so he goes off on his own and he as all sorts. Well actually life threatening mishaps and things but he also stumbles upon an older teenager who is desperately worried about her friends and then you get the whole back story so the beginning starts with Ryan and the book ends with raw in but the middle story the real me is about Cammy and of course it's also you know in the mountain regions and in Nepal you really do get a really good sense of Nepalese culture and. Yes it was so it was there was a lot to talk about and a lot to learn but boy there were some Loves of it and there were some criticism so for the ones that loved it what did they love about it they just loved being taken somewhere else into a different culture and being taken on this this journey this adventure and they didn't even care about raw in story not being particularly well written it wasn't as good as it could have been but they all really got drawn in and sucked into Cammy story and the kind of mysticism and just different beliefs just different Tibetans of believe send the goodies the bad days and a few kids actually did big projects on it I don't know if I mentioned that last time but but I found out that lots of kids are doing really cool book projects on the books we read for school so they're kind of being creative with it as well that's great we can't take it all of a lot of it yeah yeah so what about the ones that didn't like it what was it about it they didn't like it was mostly the older ones the ones who've been in the the group for years and they kind of said that as time goes on they are becoming much harsher critics which is interesting and it's really good and they're very respectful of the younger ones not to dismiss and they said Oh when I was younger I would have loved this so there's a real respect I mean I 25 kids again and I also had Hannah over from course from library shadowing because they're going to. The group of course from sin and so she was blown away by the comments and the respect and how they tied in with other things and their criticism of the writing process and kind of basically deconstructing the book and she said you know she's she's I think she's been to Ph D.'s now Hannah you know English and she said that some of these kids are up there was some of the discussions she's had at university level so and yet you also get the kind of knucklehead comments and things it's great the group is so fun and so funny and to be a fly on the wall as many people are who are coming to the library is just fantastic Well it's the ever smiles when Dickinson just confirm again the school because I made it slightly different to. The school's very I guess it would have to it would have to average out to 2.5 But to be honest as many people gave it 0.5 as 5 as many people gave it you know one and 2 it was across the board so you got to get some part of that I am and you get. To the top of that as well so it's not. That far about Ted but that's the Everest files by the concern I would say younger readers kind of year 7 and $8.00 would probably really really really like it I'd say slightly older teens maybe give it a pass you know I reckon the next lined up should be quite a discussion book tell us about us OK so it is dear Martin and it's about boy and I think it's Detroit I actually haven't started this one yet I can't get my hands on a copy they're all reading it but I'll read it for the session it is about a boy who is in his final year of school he's ready to go off to uni he's going off to an Ivy League school he's brilliant students an all rounder he is just you know a golden golden student and he gets pulled over by the police and his life is completely now totally changed and as we know. From the news this story should be unique but it's not especially unique and it just shows about how is entire life has been torn apart by being pulled over because he's black and what happens some of the kids read the hate you get which has won awards on both sides of the pond and that's also about the aftermath of a police shooting and pulling someone over just for being black our group I will confess were very white group a couple of the kids that already read it said we have to read this it's going to be amazing and thankfully again because the chip number lands money we have enough copies to go around and so the discussion should be really interesting to see what they think being brought into yet another culture and really experiences so very different from their own so when are you reading we are reading that now and we will be discussing that on Friday the 15th of February chip on library between 5 and 6 pm It should be really really brilliant and as I said other groups are forming there's a teen group starting over and calling library another one that's going to start after April and course I run one intro bridge as well so if you live in Wiltshire and you've got teenagers and you know they love reading and love him and have a good debate please you know contacts one of those libraries and see if you can get your kids involved always with great passion we love Tracy drinks they get talking about the thrill seekers group chip in them but of a moment but the Everest fall. D.M. I was a really interesting Festival on specific stocks on Saturday. And Swindon well being in the US Festival. And looking at some. Mental health I'm not supposed to be going to improve your wellbeing will tell you more about that in the next 10 minutes we say often to you from 12 where do you stall 21 of their plans for the i look like they were teasing your garbage just to frighten you when you open it all so much nice but certainly for the 1st 2 years it was a little bit Graham seem and now you're in a camp of I'm sorry right. How do you feel now with the rest of the family and you just sort of filled on your I don't think of taking one for Krystle in the way the full cost why do I think it was a lemon in it to raise you know that amount used of that stripe across his nose he did it with makeup I could never do that so he sees a stick to go to the stuffing dog bag until they often from 12 on D.V.C. Will. Have a list of the rewind yet 1st on the program. Lunchtime them with Graeme the songs and headlines from 2 years Graeme is now what the years are not looking up so we need your help to identify the year the songs the new stories which if they come from that's the rewind part of Graeme's even at lunch time Monday to Friday mid day and watching this do it it just gravity has a debate about what year it might be and I'm a bit rubbish sometimes I get it but sometimes I don't if you're on the road to the moments a reminder nothing my mental problems are well to but out of which are expecting someone from the enforcement Berkshire westbound we've still got this overturned lorry actually it's bricks we've now realise what it is it's bricks just at a junction 12 and basically there's Deborah on the road 1 so the West Bank carriage way from buckshot heading towards us is still close so that's congestion up to reading new Bree Theel that kind of area probably a sweep is on routes. What a what a football is during that help I don't know but hopefully they'll come to sort it all out so basically get off at 12 and then to you Bree and then rejoin it junction 13 so you're expecting someone that's what in what way slower than them I think the weather few showers around tonight's. Longest miles around actually quite windy as well of the sea evening no kind of frost though than to more a very windy day actually tomorrow with gales in places some heavy rain expected through the morning and then brightening up with a chance of a school the shower it will it will keep temperatures so between 7 and 10 degrees Celsius and still Saturday said to be very windy with a strong south westerly breeze and on Sunday is set to be chilly last chance then to play there. And contribute to the night simply the best. Because about 20 minutes we're going to play a song chosen by you a simply the best song that has a devoting an action a sailing connection and then of course will make a choice about what we think is the best movie that ever featured a boat. And what are the best book you've ever read. Some to do with Vogue and what a T.V. Series is well. That's how we play simply the best and there is still time for you to call it or texted or tweet us with your suggestion or simply the best movie about boat book about boats or maybe a song that has bugs in the lyrics or else a song connected with something like that and T.V. Series if you've got one in mind let us know you have to do all 4 of them just when you think of that movie that was really there was a bone to let us know oh wait 1000 to 8 double 3 double 6000 to 8 double 3 double 6. SO IT 1000 to 8. Wolf 3 double 6 to call tonight. To text it's one triple 3. Put in will 2 1st it's $81.00 triple for a. Little twit to add B.B.C. Will. So she's trying to bolt as we can't be the only account of the ALSA believe it was 30 years ago I was sleeping on the bonnet before language learning that numerous claimed I was going to live forever. To be honest the owner of the 4 legged mess nothing but somehow it's adorable 3 decades old playing the musical is on this week in the theater all involved. In the cast member of the soul singer Misha powers and the wife spoke to one ear. Thank you I wish to make them to feel like Wilma's amongst the cost. And their god it's great it's. Well you know we want last year for 6 months and it went so well and there we go for nominated for 4 different awards like. Best supporting actress. It's been a very successful run and now we're on the 2nd run and will be going to the west end in September so going really well and tell us how you count to Mrs Scherman 1st strike. I'd say She's hardcore. Serious but you know it's tough love it's that thing where how you know how teachers used to be when we were at school you couldn't get away with anything you know because once you like a whole I mean you know already so she's coming from the eighty's busy style of teaching which was the teachers almost like the parents your mother sorry kind of crossover in the role for you and when you recognize all of it yeah I was her my my sister my eldest sister she's a teacher Cambridge and she's really hardcore. She's But she's amazing and I mean all of her students have done really well you know you know a great teacher but you know years later the to the students still go back to that same teacher to thank them for they did this is kind of proof. You know being a great teacher does you know can control in July if I'm just making a mess. Or you know that you can have a look at it or for me you wouldn't. I never do that you know you know it's interesting I never do that with anything that I cover to cover anything I always do it without looking at the original probably look at the original way after I've done it to see what it looks like I'm never of copying I I think you've always got to make something your own so I think if I don't know about them I always make it my own you know how to say Dr that in time it is without the sadness it's it's it it's RINGBACK not all because in all my gosh I want to you know I never want to say it takes you up and down emotionally this one because it's more based on the movie the movie was directed by Alan Paul who's. Just a genius. Director he won the Oscar for this and what it is it shows you the darker side of fame not just you know quite a lot of these musicals you know they kind of a little bit too sweet what's good about this one is that you're going up and down through what it takes to be successful at your Croft and it goes back to being about the Croft or as Nowadays people think you just get up and decide I'm going to be a singer or I'm just going to be an actress not say this is showing you that it's really about perfecting your craft and learning how to perfect your profit come back to be a part used to be to try to put in the work and to become good at what you did as opposed to just having a couple of social media things happen and then you're it's a whole different thing. When you start asking your members on performing. In front of people you remember that moment yeah I was 8 and I sorry in front of about a 100 people that came to visit my grandparents church and I was asked to sing a song and I remember walking up into the middle of the middle of the pew and I had on these white socks in a forget it because of those who cannot to stand in front of a Roman would stop shaking because I was. And I just started to sing and I thought you know I'm not going to look at the people look at the ceiling. And then I kept my head I held the notes really long and everyone went mental and that was the start of my career really and then my grandmother took me around the whole country singing in every church and I became known as a little girl with a big voice and I won my 1st world knows 11 at Wembley but far into Iraq was a 17 it was quick everything up quite quickly and once I got fired I learned you know the 1st album you know so good went straight to. Double Platinum and no one temptation went straight to top 10 I let you know the rest is history it. Is apparent in for a musical theater all in all now runs for a box office number I want to see 5 double full double like double full in the next 5 minutes what was it like working with Prince. The Admission Paris along with will die and where is the last. Year the 2nd that with Paris in the next 5 minutes. Before that constantly reminded how I'm born a mental health. Giving advice to things you do to improve it but one of an incident is having to prove that art and culture can lift your mood and improve wellbeing the Swindon Well being an arts festival kicks off on Saturday above like . Some of the organizes has been talking to B.B.C. Which is Graeme Rogers all of us would like to achieve from this event really is giving everybody in Swindon an opportunity to come along and try something new within the arts whether the singing dancing the many different things that are out on offer it as a music groups in our sessions all across the town so we're really encouraging people to come along and just give it try because it's absolutely proven our will lift the mood and improve your mental how. From your experience what difference does this sort of form of the Arts make to people that are struggling with mental health issues well as you know Graham I work for mental health not charity in Swindon and I think the results can show for themselves that when people come along to us at 1st they may not tried any art so music since since school as they come in on the gifts that I get and it very much gives people a voice through the arts or for the music where they don't have the words to express their emotions and feelings an expressed it that way and we hear it on a weekly basis about how it's safe people's lives that's the Swindon Well being an arts festival so it starts this coming Saturday it runs through till the 16th the February check out a Facebook page has all the details of all the events going on at the festival and even more about that interview and him more that he was Graeme modules on Saturday Breakfast on B.B.C. Well compiling all your thoughts on submitting the best I'm going to come to a conclusion of the best movie book a T.V. Series and song the something to do with but stay and we could well be playing your song you came up with the song before we do that those 3 decades on fame the musical is back running this week at the theatre all in bar amongst the cast singer Misha Paris and when we chatted about how tough it was finding fame which she did when she was still pretty young including actually moving to another country Yeah I lived in New York a couple of times I lived in America quite a few times actually America was like a bit of a 2nd to me it was when I was young because you know experiencing a teenager coming from the U.K. And planting yourself in a different country city is it's a bit of a shock to the system but it was great because. The Americans are very different they absolutely go crazy for talent you know if you've got talent they like it treat it like of course you know it was amazing I mean you go to work with someone like Prince and I bet people to saw through all the time what it was like to hang out at the Palms want to hang out with Prince was great I mean the it was a it wasn't just that time you know that you know I knew I had known him for a long time so when he 1st Also to come which is advocating for sales to sing in front of everyone in London in Camden and that was just freaky because I came to see the show I didn't know he knew I was and then he dragged me out of the audience and said saying and then after that I went to Paisley and you know he let me listen to the songs in the vault and that was incredible and you know the thing what made me laugh about my 1st experience with it was He's also the what do you think like how could he also. Want to I think the whole real songs your prince for crying out loud I'm just this little teenager from London Juno I mean but he was that kind of company and I was like It's amazing it's amazing oh my god it's amazing you know it's like and then I yeah for the next how many years he would come to London and we'd hang out all the time and you know he's just a real talent just nothing else but gifted discern a way can put I mean I met Michael as well Michael Jackson the same just totally. Overflowing with talent to the point where they will most likely not human we had a love for Michael Michael Jackson. Circle one final one I kept thinking Is it right Chris Eubank is your cousin but you didn't realize this until actually quite late on is that right yeah we well you know typical you know grandparents are terrible and we were in the newspaper together in 1989 and it was. It was when Bruce Willis Arnold Schwarzenegger and bestest alone opened up hard rock you know that year and that was a huge opening and was long in fights and Chris and I put that together and I don't Chris a few years before that you know just on the scene saying hi baby or that kind of thing and we took a picture together at the hall broke it was a good hard rock with a common goal to go to college yeah and it was the opening of that and Chris My took pictures outside and it was it made the papers I will over the newspapers the next day and my grandmother my grandfather Sir and I said that is your cause and you know I was I excuse me. When did you decide to tell me that I mean how many times have we been in the house watching is right and you hadn't said a word. And you know we're probably related my grandmother was previously married to Chris Eubank father but the families they like Mrs Sherman is coming to. Thank you so much for joining Have a great time in the city yet come and see the show it's a powerful show and you'll be crying one minute and don'ts in the next so it's great that's how I live my life parsecs I'm upset that I got a. Single till Saturday to go and say NO me should boss and thank the musical of the fans are already involved in the box office numbers I want double to 5 double for. Double the best Still to come the boos one ass in simply the best. The bad. The best. The best . Yeah but . Yeah but. The Paris I'm on one temptation to Chris Cox is on the way of course from time to go to the news. Little thing to be dealing with next not only this. We've been playing simply the best I'm not asking you to come up with simply the best film song T.V. On. Book that has some kind of connection with space ships that come and think. Oh you've come up trumps that stuff in the book. Nothing via Facebook. I think it was a good ship it which we took some time to find and we to be honest we were somewhat worried about putting in a search engine I didn't is myself a mental problem it is a book it is a book which is lovely. But we have go 7 with our favorite book Moby Dick it's a classic So we've gone with Moby Dick as our favorite book T.V. . And went for Rosie and Jim with her on the Canal The Army Rosie and Jim. Gray was the over excited about a documentary go below deck which I'd never heard before he loved it. See I would have been tempted by love boat because I used to love love bugs. But Gina amongst many others going it is going to be. How it's where it was it was set up by young people of the more private beings of about you OK so how would you like wins the T.V. Moby Dick wins the book a movie very competitive section it has to be said of the movie section. So obviously that was Titanic Roger Graham and Jack suggested Titanic quite a few people including Gina and Andrew going for the boat the wrong show. Which if I remember rightly waltz all about pirate radio. ANNOUNCER all about it's not too surprising if. There was Fitzcarraldo suggested dead calm. Which is a very scary thing people never see it and a night to remember which was the of the one about the time. I think that would Kenneth mall in the fifty's a Jules Jesus just jaws how one of my all time favorite films Kathryn Finn both going to some like halt it's quite a lot sort of sets. On a boat to Nantes job to children yet likes to have a bit about average remember that comes cards if. That was. What he did but in the end every suggests that this was a tougher devise escape fear when Robert De Niro and Nick Nolte's have the final showdown that is quite a scary one itself to be honest so Kate there is when the movie OK So we go book by me they see how it's way film Cape Fear So the competitive So section are you ready for this we go then with also exaction and we'll start off with this one. Let's drop are fresh for good. I'm doing the leg action but really quite time. That it was a special guest suggested this was. All the brilliant Randy Newman and sail away lol. It's the most populous is just about to be this one. Road but it's got the cuts. And sailing Graham resisting that. This almost made it is a cool just to be.
