The newspapers were printing some story so it got us thinking awakened to many of our fake stories how news organizations news organizations fact checked what financial rewards might actually exist the people leaking this gossip and filmmaker Chris Acton's made a film about fake celebrity stories back in 2009 and for his documentary star circus he invented some celebrity gossip scented to tabloid papers or magazines to see whether they'd fact check the stories or not and he claims he was offered as much as 600 pounds for one tip off wake up to Minnie's least my expect him it was a real experiment at 1st we just called up the tip lines all tabloid newspapers have the numbers normally on the 2nd page saying if you got story calls up we could catch the stories so we just randomly called up a bunch of these numbers all the tabloids and and found them a load of complete nonsense really it was kind of like fun to tattle stories about celebrities so one of them was by Amy Winehouse having a party in a house and her electrics went and when she tried to fix electrics the house sort of blew in the her hair started smoking so it was just silly things like that which we just call them up and sold literally the next day we told that they were you know being read by millions of people without any kind of verification whatsoever so they didn't ask you you were no any evidence no no I mean we sort of made up some some fairly outlandish cover stories book we literally gave no evidence whatsoever we just said look we and in some cases we said we've heard this 3rd hand so you know you think that might be useful for a tip for starting point but they didn't the crucial thing that was interesting and I think that has parallels with Colleen really situation is the newspaper didn't check it they didn't call up the person who is the center of the story all the p.r. Republicans say look we're running the story tomorrow what's your comment because that would have got the response saying no this is a load of absolute rubbish but they didn't do that with any of our stories and it doesn't look like they did any of that with Colin stuff or what we offered for these stories in terms of our money. We have checked the lawyers and they said don't take money don't actually take the money because it will sort of compromise thing that you're trying to but we were you're what we were offered money I think it's very I mean it depends on what kind of prominence it gets in the paper but for one of our stories that really really landed it was the lead it's more the it's all page of The Sun which is that big celebrity gossip page and the lead story on that we were offered 600 pounds. So it's quite it's quite profitable he had that can toss up comment now we put that to the sun who declined to respond to what happened with Chris at Cannes and his fake names in a case a column really the papers that each of the stories that were provided to the sun was put to Colleen Rooney's Representatives before publication and on each occasion they declined to comment which sort of makes sense Mickey because if you want to if you're clean room and you want the story to get in the papers you can figure out which one's been legs always look for the quote my one of my it is huge the size of me did you get a quote Have you spoken to him and if you said no he will go back and speak to him and that's really where you go if Mickey we would have had this story if you were still in a 5 years now you would people even talking about a side of Joe thank you for all your messages today thanks I'm afraid that same from what I could summon a breakfast up next.
