Wednesday night a press conference from the council on American Islamic relations where they brought out a relative of the suspect who appeared so dazed and confused himself. All are completely shocked that this could happen. Thats why im here to tell all of you how sad we are, someone lost husband and wife or kids, i dont know, i dont have words to express how sad and devastated i am. In terms of learning what went on police say until a few hours ago they were focused on going through the building where the attack took place to check on devices. They confirmed they were explosives. That was the primary concern. They are going next into a deeper dive to better understand the motivations. What is the feeling in the community, is there relief this morning that there is not a third shooter which was speculated there might be yesterday, that there is not a third shooter on the loose. Its something the Police Confirmed Late Wednesday night. Throughout the day there were reports of 23 suspects. That was all we knew for many, many hours. Police said that they are comfortable. Thats the word they used. Comfortable that theres no third suspect. Theres no manhunt going on. What do we know about the victims of the shooting . We understand they were renting out a space. They were county employees. Mr syed farook was an inspector, going around to restaurants making sure they complied with safety and health measures. Latest count is we have 14 people confirmed dead. 17 wounded. Official is 14, that number is 17 that is wounded. I dont know the status of the wounded in terms of numbers that are serious or critical, what that is at this point. Affidavits, we have an investigation. One of the tips that we were following up on took us to a house in redlands, where we made contact with the suspect vehicle we were looking to, resulting in a pursuit. Well come back into the city. On San Bernadino avenue between richardson, the pursuit terminated. There was an officerinvolved shooting. Last count 2021 officers were involved in the gun battle with the suspects. The two suspects in the car are deceased. I have their names. First has been identified as syed farook. He is 28 years old. I am told he is american born. The second is a female, disceased well. Her name is Tashfeen Malik. She is 27 years old. I do not have any Additional Information on where she is from at this point. The reason, and how we came across that, and ill talk about the investigation a little bit. Reporter [inaudible] ill talk about the investigation a little bit. There were questions you guys asked about a person that left the meeting angry. This was a meetingchristmas partytype event taking place with San Bernadino county employees at the Regional Center. Syed farook is an environmental specialist in the Public Health department, has been employed there for five years. He was at the party, left of the party early understand circumstances that were described as angry or something of that nature. That is the information that was followed up on, that was the information followed up on which lead to the pursuit. And he is one of the deceased. Some responses do questions we this. From the time of the first 911 call to a shooting taking place inside the business, to the time the first unit arrived on scene was 4 minutes. Almost immediately after the arrival we had multiple units arriving and net entered the building responding to an active shooter situation where they encounselled erted victims. Multiple teams of officers went into the buildings, doing that. From the time we were able to extract the fibbing sims, a few minutes after clearing the first rooms, to where we found the victims, to the time we extracted them. Got them to the Triage Center outside, and transported them to the hospital was about 15 minutes. Overnight the brotherinlaw of a suspect saying he had no idea why this happened, talking to supporters along side members of the council of american islam relations. Im really here on behalf of my family for the victims, im sad and shocked that Something Like this happened. I love this country, im living in the community for a long time. On behalf of my family, all are shocked for what happened. We all are completely shocked. We have no idea that this could happen. You know. That is why im here, to tell all of you on behalf of my family how sad we are, how sad that someone lost husband and wife. Probably kids. You know, i dont have words to express how sad and devastated i am. That is all i wanted to say, really. We felt it was very important for us to come in solidarity as one group. Its important to change the same solidarity, because we expressed solidarity for that crime and others.
