The pilot project initiated by former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga has opened the doors to Sri Lanka Tourism bringing the much needed revenue to the industry which is over Rs. 40 million so far. Each Ukrainian tourist paid around USD 1,500 for the Sri Lanka package
The Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators ( SLAITO) yesterday welcomed the government decision to open up the airports for commercial operations this week and was elated that 3 million jobs, both direct and indirect employment opportunities will be reinstated.
