Three big themes in a new view of history

What led to the signing of the most important document in New Zealand's history?
EDITORIAL: If your child is starting primary school in 2022, he or she will spend part of the following three years learning about how Māori came to New Zealand and became tangata whenua, and how Māori voyaging was deliberate and skilful, not accidental.
They will hear that Māori gave names to places, some of which were subsequently changed. They will discover why February 6 is Waitangi Day.
