After nearly 130 years, the Woman's Exchange of St. Augustine is still going strong.
"Times may have changed, but our mission hasn't," said Jane Weizmann, president of the St. Augustine exchange. "It is in our DNA to help."
Gift shop showcases work by local artists
Located on St. George Street in the historic Peña-Peck House, the exchange's gift shop still sells items made by local artists and vendors, both men and women. Jewelry, works of art, clothing, purses and more are all for sale in the shop.
"We have unique things that people come looking for. Hand-crafted items like potato bags that you put in the microwave and they're guaranteed to produce a wonderful steamy baked potato," Weizmann said. "We have baskets that have been made out of amazing cloth or pine needles. We have handmade jewelry, lovely unique jewelry."
