Oregon U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer announced in October he would not be seeking reelection to the seat he has held for 28 years. His departure from Congress comes at a time of intense partisan dysfunction and on the eve of what looks to be another painful, campaign season. But Blumenauer will also be leaving D.C. amid major wins he helped secure: the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, and unprecedented green energy investments through the Inflation Reduction Act.
