The British High Commission has provided $28,000 towards the setting up of a medical helpline for Lautoka residents.
Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development (FRIEND) Fiji launched the health telephone service for those requiring medical treatment in the Lautoka containment area.
Those requiring assistance can call 165. “This initiative will facilitate access to medical advice and medication,” said British High Commissioner George Edgar.
“We express solidarity with all Fijians and admiration for the outstanding efforts of Fiji’s frontline healthcare workers.” FRIEND Fiji director Sashi Kiran said those needing medical attention would be able to consult a physician and organise their medication.
