The case against shorting meme stocks: 'this is not just retail traders'

Gamestop is up 44% and AMC is up 55% over the past week.
Along with retail investors, institutional investors and hedge funds are also participating on the long side.
Trading activity shows that the buying and selling is even in these two stocks.

These meme stocks have been fueled by discussions on the Reddit board WallStreetBets. Gamestop is up 44% and AMC is up 55% over the past week.
