That Elf Not Doing The Job? Time To Call In Alexa!
For the first few years that you had him or her, your Elf On The Shelf was respected by the children in your home.  The knew that the elf was always watching them.  He or she was watching how they treated others and how well they followed the directions of their parents.  And, each night, the elf would fly back to the North Pole and report their behavior to Santa.
But, after a few years, they started to lose respect for their elf.  Even though they knew the elf was watching, they disobeyed their parents, didn't do their homework, and were mean to their brothers and sisters.
