POLK COUNTY, Ore. — A Salem police detective shot a driver who allegedly rammed a patrol car Thursday evening in Polk County, just outside Salem city limits, police said.
Investigators tried to pull over Erfinson Bossy, 22, around 7:15 p.m. to speak with him about an ongoing shooting investigation. Police said he fled and rammed a patrol car.
During the incident, Det. Erick Hernandez shot at the suspect's vehicle, injuring Bossy. Police said the shooting happened on Highway 22 near the Eola community.
According to police, the driver continued westbound before stopping at the intersection of Highway 22 and Oak Grove Road. A passenger who was inside the suspect's vehicle fled and has not been located as of Friday afternoon.
