In-person learning
Vermont educators are overwhelmingly in favor of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, according to data released Friday from a state-managed survey.
The survey, which included more than 15,200 staff members, showed approximately 92% are interested in receiving a vaccine for the virus. About 81% of child care staff members reported interest during the same survey.
News of educators' interest comes days before the state is scheduled to undertake a large-scale vaccination rollout plan for educators in an effort to complete a full return to in-person learning by late spring.
Clinics will begin administering the shots for teachers at seven school districts next week, with 28 more being planned. The initial locations will include Harwood Union, Springfield, Barre, Mill River, North Country, Rutland City and all Bennington County District schools, according to Human Services Secretary Mike Smith.
