Deschutes County Commissioner Patti Adair will visit the Sunriver Police and Fire Departments Friday morning, at 9 a.m. Sunriver Police Chief Cory Darling and Fire Chief Tim Moor will lead Commissioner Adair on a tour of both facilities to show the many deficiencies the proposed Public Safety Building would mitigate. The Deschutes County Commissioners voted in favor (3-0) to approve Resolution No. 2022-006, submitting to the voters in the Sunriver Service District an election on a new 10-year capital improvement local option levy to fund the remodel and expansion of the Sunriver Public Safety Building. In addition, the Sunriver Service District submitted a formal request earlier this year to the Commissioners for financial support. Specifically, the request was to secure funding from the Transient Room Tax (TRT) fund for this critical public safety infrastructure project. The Commissioners voted unanimously to support this project for a total of $8 million to be disbursed over three years.
