Strasburg town offices will be “functional” but closed to the public for the next two weeks due to a recent increase in COVID-19 cases among town staff.
Town Manager Wyatt Pearson said Monday afternoon eight staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. He declined to discuss their level of symptoms out of privacy concerns beyond saying they varied. Nobody has been hospitalized, he said.
Pearson declined to say which departments those with positive cases work in, also out of privacy concerns to not identify who they are. The people with positive test results are not working, either by using sick time allotted to them by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act or their personal sick time, Pearson said.
