Stamford city reps push to revise state gun open-carry law

STAMFORD — Imagine dropping off your child at school one morning and, just as you’re pulling away, you see a person with a handgun strapped to their hip walking right by the school.
Alarmed, you might call 911, but under existing state law, that gun bearer would not be required to show police proof that the gun is legally owned, unless an officer has reasonable suspicion a crime is being committed.
