At the time of the article, he slept in a tent off Wildwood Drive, south of St. Augustine. He said he has been homeless since he was 12 and was crisscrossing the country before coming to St. Johns County about six months ago.
He told The Record in March that he picks up "any kind of trash, debris, anything that could destroy waterways, or anything destroying the land.
"I do this because although I am homeless, I still love this world and God and I don't want to beg."
He decorated part of the area around the Moultrie Creek bridge with items found on the road and flowers.
