LA PAZ, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Spaniard Xabier Azkagorta has been named manager of Bolivian top flight club Municipal Vinto, marking his return to coaching after a three-year hiatus.
The 67-year-old replaces Argentine Humberto Viviani, who was sacked following two losses and a draw in the past three matches.
The Quillacollo-based club confirmed the appointment with a brief social media post on Thursday.
His first match in charge will be a home duel against Aurora in Bolivia's top division on Saturday.
Azkagorta's 41-year coaching career has included spells in charge of Espanyol, Real Valladolid and Sevilla, as well as the Bolivia and Chile national teams.
