A police investigation, including the Sheriff's Office Computer Crime Task Force, has not led to arrests in the September incident. Police are investigating Wednesday's incident, Mayor Bonnie Christian said.
"It was absolutely terrible," Christian said Thursday. "The meeting was going well. The presentation was being handled very nicely until we got to the Q&A and the comments came. We’re putting out an apology to all our residents."
Christian said the village consultant, the Laberge Group, is setting up a way for residents to call and ask questions about the dissolution plan.
Labarge has drafted a plan for Village Board approval to settle debts, sell properties and assets, and deal with personnel issues before Orangetown takes over land-use issues, policing, public works, and other municipal services in 2022.
