FAMILIES have been left “absolutely gutted” as Christmas is effectively cancelled - but many believe it was the right call.
Echo readers have been sharing their thoughts on south Essex going into Tier 4, with the relaxation of Covid regulations cancelled due to surging cases.
Deborah Rose said: “Absolutely gutted as I was looking forward to spending the day with my daughter and her boyfriend and them cooking for us for the first time.
“But I can understand why it has to be done as things are just getting out of control.
“But I wish they had made a decision before now but would have been nice if they had just reduced it to one other household and just Christmas Day rather than us not being able to see anyone at all.”
