Officials in Lorain, Erie, Huron and Cuyahoga counties have been busy preparing for the April 8 solar eclipse as the meteorological event is expected to bring hundreds of thousands of visitors to Northeast Ohio. A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon appears to completely obscure the sun and is considered a “once-in-a-lifetime” event.
