When one door closed for renowned Pensacola chef Gus Silivos, another door — one that had been right under his nose for a decade — opened up.
Agapi Bistro + Garden opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner service last month at 555 Scenic Highway, the former location of Nancy's Catering & Events, which is another Silivos-owned venture.
Agapi's grand opening highlights a carousel of closures, openings and general shuffling under the Silivos umbrella of businesses. After a 61-year run for Skopelos — five of which came in downtown Pensacola — Silivos begrudgingly closed the upscale restaurant at New World Inn late last year, a decision Hurricane Sally all but made for him.
