For all but two students at Wednesday night’s 2024 Vacaville Grace B. Powell Citywide Spelling Bee, the competition spelled h-e-a-r-t-b-r-e-a-k. But for Bethanie Devina and Anna Liu, the evening spelled v-i-c-t-o-r-y. Held in the Catwalk Theatre at Will C. Wood High, the event allowed three contestants per school in the elementary division and four in the middle school division.
